Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
blizy · 25/05/2012 17:01

Well nurse finally phoned, I have to make an app with the doctor for a consultation. All she could tell me was my glucose and thyroid levels are good. So I have to wait until Wednesday before I even phone for an app as they can't book them more than a week in advance! Oh and the dr I seen is only in the surgery 2 days a week! Rage does not cut it.Angry. I'm going to be sitting here worrying like hell for ages now.Sad

tadjennyp · 25/05/2012 17:41

So sorry that your results aren't clear and you can't see the doctor till next week at the earliest. Sad At least she didn't misinterpret the results. I was told everything was fine and I went for 6 months trying before the gynae said I wasn't ovulating properly. Sad First month on clomid and Anna was conceived on an airbed . We will all be virtually holding your hand, blizy.

Sorry for all the biters - it can be worrying, can't it? S is going through a stage of flinging his head back really hard and bashing my face. So looking forward to flying with him on my lap. Hmm

Glad you are all having good weather again. Life is so much more relaxed when you can chuck the dcs in the garden. We had snow yesterday, but it didn't settle! Anyone got any nice plans for the bank holiday?

That's really impressive, debka. I bet you'll be really good at counselling. Are you doing midwife training at uni?

wiggles, I hope O is better really soon. I also had tonsillitis loads as a kid and never had them out. Ended up in hospital for 3 days with quinsey when I was 30. It was horrible. I hope the GP does refer her.

Hope you are all having lovely Friday evenings. Isn't it half term for you now? Wishing you a good one. Smile

debka · 25/05/2012 19:48

How bloody frustrating blizy. Hope you can get an appointment asap. On the bright side, if there is something a bit awry (sp?), at least now you know and they can look at fixing it.

tad SNOW???!!!! I'm not doing any counselling, I'm just there being a positive influence or something. Apparently I have good energy Hmm. Looking at doing nursing now, I am 20 UCAS points short of the requirement for midwifery, which is tres frustrating, but I have enough for nursing. Plus I think you have a broader base with nursing, with the option to go on to do midwifery.

ledkr I've not heard of babies getting hay fever so little but if one was going to get it, it would be Dilly, wouldn't it! I've had a look at the website but they don't do my bra size so I can't get one which does boobs too. Think I'll have to go in and have a look...

Imy is being a little monkey this evening, she slept for 1/2hr in the car this afternoon and is chatting away to her dollies in bed now . Fine, except she just called for me to take her for a poo, me going in woke S up, had to settle them both down again, and now Imy is STILL bloody chatting. It's been almost an hour since I put her to bed. If she disturbs S again this will be my face- Angry.

Emski76 · 25/05/2012 19:57

Oh Blizy, that's poo abut your results, hope you get an appointment ASAP.

Am trying to cool down with a bottle of beer, but it's sooooooooo hot!

debka · 25/05/2012 20:33

Imogen is STILL RUDDY CHATTING!! I'll be sticking pins in her next time we have to drive at 3pm. Angry

ILovePonyo · 25/05/2012 20:50

Angry deb Naughty Imy! Bet she sounds cute though Wink Therapy group spounds really good, I've done a few guided meditations and thought it would be boring/I wouldn't get it but enjoyed it tbh.

american oh yes, the old 'spirited' comment, ha! I'm glad A isn't a climber, that would be so annoying, she's like Maggie from the Simpsons when she walks, a few steps then plops down on her bum.

ledkr yep Dilly at the lido does sound exhausting, I can imagine A being like that too. Grin at you all chatting away about your knickers Wink

blizy that sucks and seems such a long wait, I know its probably just procedure but it seems so insensitive :( Rubbish. This is crappy advice but I'm going to say it anyway - try not to worry, although I know it will be on your mind. Hugs x

tadj Snow?!! A does the flinging herself back thing when she has a strop, we had to leave her crying for ages today because she headbutt/hit us when we tried to pick hr up. Then when she stopped crying we'd talk to her and she she'd start again! Confused

Hi everyone else :)

I am super stressed about sorting stuff out re: my dad, it is constantly on my mind and I have some awkward converstaions to be having with ow soon. I'm so fecking stressed! I'm also really missing him at the moment - especially when I think about A growing up and not seeing him.

Ah well, I have malteasers and a nice cold beer in the fridge so that might help... :)

tadjennyp · 25/05/2012 21:44

Sorry Ponyo, that must be so hard for you. Hope the conversations you need to have go as well as possible. Hugs. Hope this back-flinging thing is grown out of pronto!

Go to sleep Imy!

Enjoy the beers!

ledkr · 25/05/2012 22:02

blizy anyone who had tests would find out at least one small thing wrong, nobody is perfect.I remember when we had tests my ex had slow swimmers and deformed tadpoles too. He went on to make Ella and another 2 dds so dont fret pet Grin Easy to say i know.

Another scorcher,i am just about to have a shower then get "onto" bed we have fans everywhere here,i put one in D's room but she was Hmm when i put her to bed so i took it out again haha.

blizy · 26/05/2012 17:53

Thanks for the reassurance girls.
AF has arrived today Sad but on the plus side I will be with dh for my fertile week in June. Grin

Hope you are all having a good day, we spent the day gardening. Just relaxing for a bit before heading out to a friends.

reastie · 26/05/2012 18:40

blizy I second what ledkr said - I've been called in for test results in the past and got really flustered over it when it's been something pretty unimportant that's just been slightly off the scale but still fine so the nurse can't tell you it's all normal as they don't have the knowledge. I'm probably explaining that all wrong Blush . I second ponyos advice not to worry too, although I know that will be pretty impossible. Gardening hey? Does that mean it now resembles less of a jungle Wink . Btw how's the hypnosis thing going? I ordered mine this morning but yet to try it.

ledkr forgot to say well done on the weight loss

Hot here again today - DH and I finally got some sand for Alices sandpit so she spent the afternoon playing with sand and cooling off in the paddling pool. I spent the afternoon cooking blooming healthy muffins for Alice to try to keep breakfasts slightly less messy, twas too hot for cooking all afternoon tbh though.

ponyo thinking of you re: talking to ow etc. Is it all still about the will stuff?

deb tried to order my M&S knickers today and the code on the mn voucher didn't work Angry - have you had any issues?

needto where are you? Grin . Hope you've enjoyed your week off with OH Envy

DH told me today when I was asking Alice to smile for a photo that I always talk to her really loudly like one of those, what's the word, performance parents Blush . I'm either blaming the teacher in me or the talk-to-alice-really-loudly-and-slowly-like-she's-a-foreigner-so-she-understands

In other news, I'm seriously considering joining my old gym Grin

ledkr · 26/05/2012 21:50

yay to the gym reastie,i feel great since re starting exercise.

We are giving the sandpit a year as i cant face it.

Had a day at the pool again, imust be mad but D's face is a picture when she is in the water, kind of ecstatic Grin

Dh is going to be mad though as we are all burnt and that is the one thing that annoys him. D has pink knees as she had a swim suit on and i didnt cream her legs.

I am planning a lazy day tomorrow, my friend kind of invited herself and her 2 dd's "for " a day in your garden" I dont mind that but i can also imagine bloody kids all round my house and i cant be arsed tbh,i fancy a bit of a read.

Im off to bed now smothered in aftersun.

ILovePonyo · 26/05/2012 21:57

Hello all, what a beauts day! We went to a bbq at my friends this evening, A was on top form dancing to some reggae Grin and doing animal noises on command - mooing, baaing and monkey noise, very funny. She went to bed at 8.30 but doubt it will mean a lie in tomorrow, boo, its my turn to get up with her too.

reastie yes tis about the will, gah. The (sort of) ironic thing is, the last thing my dad would have wanted is for me and my sis to be stressing about it, and feeling awkward etc about it all, but its his bloody fault for not sorting it all out!
Anyway, your house looks lovely on fb, am very jealous Grin I need to buy A a paddling pool, by the time I do I bet it'll be freezing weather again...
Oh and dp has a teacher voice he uses with A, its when hes being strict and saying 'no' - I think he;s being too harsh but thats because I'm a big softy Wink fwiw I like it when I hear mums talking loudly to their children, I usually look and give them a smile, and most times its reciprocated!
Performance parenting is being wanky and show-offy though isn't it?!

blizy stupid AF Angry hope you have a nice evening at your friends though. You're good gardening, ours is like a bloody jungle.

Anyway, night all, enjoy the sun tomorrow, am planning a trip to the park :)

ILovePonyo · 26/05/2012 21:59

x post ledkr, hm good luck for tomorrow by the sounds of it! Aw at D's pink knees, I was insisting on sun cream for A today but dp was quite laid back "because she's brown" Grin Well I go pink so there Hmm

ledkr · 27/05/2012 10:22

ponyo I have seen some awful burns on mixed race kids so dont listen to him Grin
dh has a thing about sunburn so was mildly eggy.
It is so hot again today.I was in bed asleep by 10 and woke up with a headache so dh got up with d at 6 even though he didnt finish until 12 Hmm feel a bit guilty but hes going to have a kip later.
We have our bongo at last, its really nice and Els is sat in it now.
D has been a right little whinger,it gets me down a bit if im honest. I was saying to dh that when she is older she will probably moan about everything,he didnt agree Grin
She is asleep in the garden now so im off to the gym,im envisaging a nice quiet day in the garden but then again im a deluded fool.

ILovePonyo · 27/05/2012 11:36

Thank you ledkr, dp doesn't wear sun cream the eejit, but he was putting it on A yesterday so I shouldn't slate him Grin

I'm hoping that the whingyness will wear off when they're older, ie they whinge so much now they get it all out of their systems for when they're older, however I'm prob a deluded fool too Wink it can get wearing and I have to remind myself she's funny and a moaner all the time sometimes.

Going to the park for picnic later, enjoy the sun everyone

ledkr · 27/05/2012 16:27

I saw an old friend yesterday at the pool who watched me chase d around and then said " I seem to remember your other dc sitting at your side whilst you read a book and i was always jealous of you" It confirmed what i already thought that D is infact a pita Grin

My day of sun was scuppered by a text from dil who is very ill and needed me to have dgs as ds3 is hungover from his birthday yesterday.

I have therefore had 2 under 3 plus ds2 plus els and a friend Shock sfter doing lunch for them all i cleared up and coped with double whinging and suncreaming and ice lollies. I even went to the gymn this avo.

AIBU to get the feckers all to bed and sit on my patio with a fag and wine and pot my petunias whilst playing some old school funky house music?? Hmmm am i?

reastie · 27/05/2012 18:32

ledkr what a day! Defo sit down on the patio is deserved. The thing that I find Angry with Alice is she can be so perfect and placid with other people (ie DH and DM) but a complete whinger with me, so I guess she isn't permanently spirited so maybe I should count myself lucky, but my goodness can she whine! I'm awaiting to hear back from DM if she can have Alice for an hour or so longer a couple of times a week if I have time to get to the gym then as that and week ends will be the only time I will be able to go. They have a pool there so assuming I wouldn't have to pay for Alice to be a member ( Shock ) I could take her swimming at week ends Grin

ledkr · 27/05/2012 19:21

reast I go once at weekend whilst dh is around and twice in the week, mornings if poss,dh is often here or i dump her at my mums.Im doing c25k so it only takes half an hour and i then do half an hour of weights and sit ups so not there too long.
Its a cliche i know but i feel so fab since re starting exercise,my body looks nicer and i feel stronger and happier.
I even went the other day when id been up since 5 and felt gret afterwards.

Anyone? D had a sleep 5-6 it was so hot and she was so tired that i just couldnt be arsed to wake her. She is bathed and in pjs shall i just put her down?

ILovePonyo · 27/05/2012 19:25

Put her down ledkr, A was laughing and throwing her bottle around before bed Hmm so I tried it and put her down - shes asleep phew, I think the heat knocks her out!

ILovePonyo · 27/05/2012 19:42

I'm back, ledkr your day sounds knackering. Grin and Shock at the woman at the pool, were your other kids really sitting nicely at D's age?!

reastie I need to start going swimming more - its silly because I almost feel guilty when dp has A weekends/evening, he doesn't make me feel guilty its my own issue, I need to snap out of it and have some time to myself.

Had a nice day at the park with my friend and her little boy, A kept taking his drink and then screeching when he took it from her, drama queen!

Oh and you know how she went to bed at 8.30 last night? Still awake at 6 Hmm dp got up though bless him.

Grannyapple · 27/05/2012 19:59

Evening folks! ledkr I feel shattered just reading your post! If defo be out on the patio with a vino now! ponyo it is horrid sorting all that stuff out but hopefully the conversations to be had will go better than you think.

Well I did the Bupa 10k today in London....omg, the heat was bloody awful! Did it in 1.06:59...bit disappointed with the time as slower than last year (& I'm sure I'm fitter now!!), but hey go it's done & out the way now!

Met the parents of the little baby who died from mitochondrial disease (charity I was running for)...they were really lovely people & hoping to stay in contact with them. But was heartbreaking their story...they were basically told that lily had heart failure & nothing could be done for her when she was 2 months so they took her home. The wee fighter went on to live to 7 months. Although N can be a right pain & drama queen when he wants to be, just reminded me how lucky we are to have him & his health.

Shattered tonight...& back to work tomorrow (boo!).

ledkr · 27/05/2012 20:00

well shes down but was having a look around when i put her in her cot which is unusual. D still wakes at 6 even when she went to bed at 10 one night.I just take it in turns to get up with dh but i must admit i think nothing of putting her to bed at 6pm may as well have some peace and quiet while i can.

ledkr · 27/05/2012 20:07

granny x posted. As a novice runner I am in awe of you a,running 10k and b,running in this heat. I found it hard at the gym and i was under a fan.

Well done.

I am hoping to build up to a 5k for The smile train which pays for children in poor countries to have the operation D had. Its just 150 per child and it totally transforms their lives.

Watching soccer aid,its really good. I cant wait to go to bed tbh,i love laying down on cool sheets with the fan on Grin

Its els sports day tomorrow.she is one of those annoying winning kids, unlike ds2 who used to lose everything so i have a very mixed view of sports days.

debka · 27/05/2012 20:11

Hey everyone,

Hope Dilly's asleep ledkr. Massive well done on the exercise and weight loss. I know where you're coming from saying you feel better and stronger. I feel the same. I'm not a gym-mer but I'm out walking or running every evening after the girls are in bed.

ponyo you need your me time, esp with the stress over your dad's will. Just let DP enjoy his time with A and you enjoy yourself.

Much sympathy to thos with whingers, S isn't afflicted with the whinges yet but I can assure you that her big sister makes up for it tenfold!

Did I tell you about VaselineGate?? The girls shut themselves into their room Sat pm, when I went in S was absolutely blathered in Vaseline and Vicks. Head to toe. Dolly was also well coated. Imogen had miraculously escaped Hmm. I can reliably inform you that Vaseline does not wash out of baby hair easily. 2 shampoos and a desperate lather with the Fairy Liquid and Bean still looked like a Jedward tribute act today. Grin

debka · 27/05/2012 20:16

x post granny, bloody well done, fantastic. What a worthy cause to run for too. I can't imagine how it must feel knowing that your child is going to die soon :(

ledkr Imy has her 1st sports day next month, I am ridiculously excited already. School photographer comes in tomorrow but she'll have to miss it because

STOP PRESS*

The PILS are visiting!!!!

Oh yes! We had 24 hours warning Hmm. FIL is on a hunt for more galleries in Kent to sell his pictures in (he's an artist), so they are actually visiting us!!! This is the first time in almost 7 years he has ever visited. Shock
