Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ledkr · 22/05/2012 22:15

lovely borg Go to another park from now on.
All the chavs were topless here with their pasty malnourished bodies displayed as if they were Peter Andre, little red pigeon chests with tufts of baby hair sprouting from the middle, caps askew and babbies in eye candies Grin

WeAreBorg · 23/05/2012 00:11

Grin it's always the mingers though isn't it? I just stare at them looking like I have puke in my mouth

Emski76 · 23/05/2012 06:42

Haha to the snobbery. When my friend and I go to certain shops we say that he shows his bottom teeth and I walk around looking as if I can smell something disgusting! Yuk, yuk, yuk! Best of British as they say!

ledkr · 23/05/2012 08:40

Up at 6 but she did sleep from 6 so musnt grumble Grin

We are off to the Olympic torch stuff at the racecourse today, will probably regret it due to whingey d,traffic and parking probs but its got to be done i guess.

Got dentist in a bit nice.

Emski76 · 23/05/2012 12:29

Hi all
Blimey my work colleagues are a moany bunch. I've not been able to hold my tongue so far today, naughty me! So far we've had the Olympics and why they think our taxes shouldn't pay for it and Mother and Baby parking spaces!!! Random, but true! I'm just waiting for them to start moaning about the Jubilee next!!

OK, rant over, Im going to have me lunch now. Catch y'all later

americanexpat · 23/05/2012 13:32

wiggles - as my family says, it's five o'clock somewhere, never too early for some shenanigans when the weather is nice. Grin

Haha to the snobbery. I'm a member of the local Netmums group on Facebook and often [catsbummouth] at the things people post.

Emski - my work colleagues are like that as well. One guy starts moaning about something which sets off the other one and they're at it for ages.

Borg - L doesn't say much either. He's just started saying "night-night", "bye-bye" and "ta". He says "mama" to me (after much prompting) and "dada" to both DH and the cats. Grin

wigglesrock · 23/05/2012 14:16

americanexpat ah my family motto Grin

emski at least you're not getting "Ooh I like it hot but not this hot" Grin, its 18 degrees, hardly sub-Saharan. Mind you I've got involved in nail painting on babies, gay Superheroes and tea for 18 month olds all on MN this morning Grin

A is having a bit of a meltdown, it looks like the batteries on her fave very noisy ambulance toy have finally given up the ghost (thank you God) now to work on the mini piano Grin. She looks like Elton John during the drug years when she's "playing" it.

reastie · 23/05/2012 14:37

american you've made me nose and see if my local nm has a fb site it doesn't Grin . I'm on a fb mums group for where I live (nothing to do with mn/nm) and it's so the opposite of snobbery - all full of Mums looking for someone locally to hire to change light bulbs (I'm not joking) and the like.

wiggles Grin to the elton john comment. Tis v hot here btw . Am considering making home made ice lollies for Alice.

ems hope the annoying colleagues have shut up now. I tend to get annoying students not to much annoying colleagues although some teachers are a bit odd Wink

ledkr how did olympic torch stuff go? We have the torch go through my local town in a few weeks but don't think I'll go [lazy]

Anyone here got rivalrous gps to their LOs? DH thinks as he has been told by MIL that however often Alice and I see my Mum, MIL should have to see her the same amount . Spoke to my technician at work today and she said this is a common thing. Just wondered how people deal with it

blizy · 23/05/2012 16:09

Reastie- your mil sounds utterly ridiculous! Of course you and Alice visit your parents more. I know if Zoe was here she would see more of my parents than the in laws, it wouldn't be out of badness just that I visit my parents on my own. I don't really see my inlays without Dh.

It's a roaster here too.
I have an old school friend coming tomorrow to see about me minding her baby girl after the school hols for 2/3 days per week. I'm stupidly nervous all because it is a baby girl.

Ledkr- hope you had a good day.

ledkr · 23/05/2012 20:43

blizy How was it? I think you are amazing still working with children. Any tests news?

Had a really nice time at the torch thing. I nearly cried off as it has been so hot here-26-but stuck it out and am really glad.Ellas face was a picture dancing to Labrynth (I predict and earthquake bloke) and running after Zara Philips as she rode on a horse carrying the torch.D just loved the space to tear about and the cheesy chips and hotdogs Grin Only just got in so im sure d will do me the diservice of a 5am wake up due to her late night Hmm

reastie If dh thinks that he needs to make a list of every time A sees your mum and take her to his Mum himself, stupid woman. Its not a competition.

I am still dreading the next pil visit,we have decided its less stressful to go to them but either way it still means a boring and formal weekend though.

blizy · 23/05/2012 21:28

ledkr Glad you had a nice day, it sounded lovely. Meeting is tomorrow. I'm not amazing, just have bills to pay. I really do love my job, although I did have some wobbles about the unfairness of it all.

debka · 23/05/2012 21:31

reastie we live next door to my parents, and DH's never ever visit. Can you guess which set sees the girls more? Friday of half term suits me, Leeds Castle?

ledkr that sounds like a super day out, hope Dills is kind tomorrow :)

wiggles Grin at Anna and Elton!

Had a gorgeous day today in the sun, both girls in shorts and t shirts running round outside all day, then a bbq with my sis and bil. Imy was so excited when she heard we were eating outside and, shock horror, Daddy was cooking, she was asking from about 2pm whether it was tea time yet Grin.

SW last night and I lost 2.5lb- 1/2lb off that damn 6st award Angry. Want to do 3lb this week but methinks a hotdog, burger, spare rib and 2 cookies probably won't have helped Blush

ILovePonyo · 23/05/2012 21:32

Hello all, well I am drinking nice cold wine and eating malteasers - I'm going to be a fat sweaty lump all summer aren't I?! Grin

Met a friend at a lovely farm/play area today (Ferry Farm Mizk?) it was lovely, A even managed to keep her sun hat on Shock but threw all of her food around when we had lunch, the madam.

Agree with blizy and ledkr re: pil reastie, not that dp ever moans but if he did I'd tell him to take A there himself - I take A home to my mum all the time.

blizy good luck for tomorrow - you're very strong. How old is the girl?

borg urgh at fishy chavs, I'm fed up of seeing minging men with their tshirts off strutting around in the sun - put it away!!

Hi eveyone else, I am tired and off to bed soon, A has 2 teeth coming so I ended up givning her nurofen last night, no more calpol after the late night partying!

wigglesrock · 23/05/2012 21:55

ledkr glad you had a lovely day, one of the teachers from Sofias school is taking part in the torch carrying and she is pestering us to go and cheer him on, think we're busy that day, its in the arsehole of nowhere.

blizy hope tomorrow goes ok xx Any further update on the honeymoon?

We live between both sets of parents, but see my Mum and Dad more and for longer Grin But I do take the girls on my own to see pils especially if Mr W is on a string of long shifts.

We are watching the latest Mission Impossible film - I dislike Tom Cruise with a passion that's hard to explain, always have done, Mr W adores him Shock, seriously has always liked him. Tom Cruises' lack of acting ability has always been a sticking point in our marriage Grin

blizy · 23/05/2012 21:58

ponyo Thanks, she is 4 months, will be 6 months by the time she starts with me.

Hope Anya sleeps well tonight.

debka well done, I'm sure you will get your award next week.. Grin at Imy's excitment about the bbq.

blizy · 23/05/2012 22:01

wiggles We are defo goin away in November, we need a bit more time to save up.. So will have a honeymoon/first anniversary/celebrate my birthday holiday Grin.

I share your dislike of Tom Cruise.

ILovePonyo · 23/05/2012 22:05

Massive x post by me, deb I am so jealous of your BBQ, yum! Imy sounds do cute Smile

Blizy quite a young,un then, don't want to sound flippant but maybe it'll be easier when you see her - once you know what you're 'facing' sometimes its less scary. Hope that makes sense.

Wiggles god Tom twatty cruise, sort it out Mr W!

wigglesrock · 23/05/2012 22:10

Well I'm sure I'm not the only girl in the world to be disappointed by Mr Cruise Wink

He runs, he shouts, he gets disavowed, that's about it Grin

debka my girls love a bbq, my Mum is planning one for Sunday, they are really excited!

ledkr · 23/05/2012 22:27

Not too bothered about the olympic flame tbh wiggs It was more the chance to see some live music and chill in the sun that appealed to me. I certainly wouldnt have "lined the fecking streets" Grin
Im very synical about things like that and the jubilee etc but i always cave in cos i feel the dc should see it and im terrible if i dont take them haha.

Grannyapple · 23/05/2012 23:09

ledkr I'm with you in the whole big event thing. Torch comes here the week the Olympics start...I'm at work but MIL & nephew will be here so they can go get involved in the jolliloties & take N if they want Grin. Didn't bother to go see the queen when she was here the other day to be honest...was raining & was bang in middle of N's morning nap.

reastie & debka I can't do that Friday as I'm working, so I'll tag onto next one Smile

blizy hope all went well with new minder stuff. Oh & does that mean honeymoon is now booked, then? How exciting...where u off to again? Sounds like you're both in need if that massive holiday!

Was stupidly hot down here today (28 apparently).. Went to Howletts zoo nr Canterbury today...was nice & quiet when we got there, tho lots of animals were still asleep I think Hmm. But we got a yearly pass as it was same price as a standard entry fee so now have perfect excuse to go back!

V hot tonight for sleeping...slightly on edge as saw a big spider on wall near dh's side of bed...disappeared by the time I came out of shower....

blizy · 24/05/2012 07:15

Eeek granny I hope he didn't reappear on your back whilst you were sleeping! No, not booked yet we are going to Vegas and NY.
It was 27c here yesterday and it's another roaster today.Grin

ledkr I can't be assed with any of that stuff either.

DH and I were talking last night, I am thinking about coming down to London on the 11th June for the week whilst dh works. We are going to drive down to dorset for Monkey world on the thurs/fri - EXCITED!

Hope you all have a good day, i wil be spending the morning getting ready for my meeting.

americanexpat · 24/05/2012 10:20

reastie - no advice on the dueling grannies as ours live so far away, but I think it's understandable that you and Alice see your parents more. You don't get on with MIL, why should you spend loads of time with her? Confused Tell DH to take Alice to visit his parents and give you a break.

blizy - good luck with the meeting, I hope it all turns out fine. It's only been 15 months though so don't push yourself to do it if you aren't ready. Also Envy at Monkey World.

L had his first incident report yesterday at nursery for biting. Hmm He was angry at another child and bit her. Shock He did the same to me Tuesday night after I pulled him off the television stand. I felt like such a horrible parent when she told me.

Grannyapple · 24/05/2012 11:47

Ooh american I'm half expecting that from N soon too....he bit me the other day, the wee bugger!

blizy I'm off tuesday of that week, if ur bored & at a loose end, I could come into town & meet you?

Just been to in the night garden live...was ok bit was shocked at the amount of 'upselling' going on...

blizy · 24/05/2012 11:59

Oh granny- now that is a possibility!Grin

American- you are not a bad parent, toddlers often go through a biting phase. They tend to bite when they are frustrated so it's best to distract before they reach biting point. Remember L really is still a baby he won't understand that he is hurting people when he bites.

MizK · 24/05/2012 12:07

Hey dolls, what stunning weather hey? feel a bit guilty to be MNing when i should be out enjoying the sun, but will prob have dinner outside tonight and sunbathe during C's nap, fingers crossed!
expat don't feel bad, he's not being naughty just trying out his boundaries. At this age they don't really have naughtiness in them I don't think, theyre just learning what's what!
reastie My MIl and DP's gran and sis all live within 2 minutes of one another. So naturally they see SILs children virtually every day (plus help her out with childcare whilst she works) so I always get remarks about C not really knowing them or hardly ever seeing them. It does annoy me that they don't get that its a question of logistics, I am always busy with DCs clubs and activities after school etc. Plus they only come to ours if they get a formal invitation, they would never just pop round (thankfully!) so I think its their fault as much as mine. So you're not alone. Anyway if DH is so bothered, let him take Alice to them and you can do something for yourself - gym, coffee, catch up with friends. :)
ponyo its v bad that I haven't been to Ferry farm isnt it! We go to White Post Farm occasionally but tbh I don't like animals esp the smell of farmyards, I'm a proper city girl haha! But in summer I think I will take DCs, they love things like that!
ledkr the torch thing sounds fun, not a flag waver or royalist but I sort of like the feeling of everybody celebrating together ie hate football but don't mind the world cup cause it just seems more of a party atmosphere!
wiggles haha to your Tom Cruise dig, I'm sure Katie Holmes is being held against her will by the scientologists, he's camp as a row of tents! I'm not a fan of his, slightly rattish looking I feel.
deb you are a weight loss goddess! Can't believe how amazing you are your willpower must be pretty damned strong to have stayed on your SW plan for all this time. Please skinny pics soon!
Wow, I've rambled - off to get C some lunch (she is spellbound by Balamory so have at least 10 mins left til she'll eat :) ) Hi to anyone I missed, enjoy the sunshine!
