Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Emski76 · 19/05/2012 20:11

Hi all
Reastie, is your mil ok with Alice on her own? I ask this because I hated leaving Ben with my mil in the beginning but she is fab with both boys and i know it was due to my feelings about her more than how she took care of the bits. It's a truly horrible feeling tho.

I can't remember who asked, but Noah was fine after his fall yesterday. He cried for a few minutes but then I distracted him and he forgot all about it. Within five minutes he was back on the climbing frame but this time I climbed up with him and didn't leave his side! When he went down the slide, I'd say ready, steady and he'd say go. It was so cute!

Darn I can't remember what y'all said on the previous page, but hope your all ok.

Oh and Deb I had a quik nose at your dh website, it looks good. Hope he does really well

blizy · 19/05/2012 20:59

debka give up already Grin!

reastie I have no words of wisdom about mil. Hope you are ok?

emski I thought it was Ben who fell, yikes I would have pooped my pants!

I had my 21day blood test yesterday, I should find out the results by Wednesday.

My wee sis had her dating scan on Wed, everything is fine and baby is die 15th November.

I had a quiet day, i have a sinus infection (boooo). Dh is out watching all the football. (dreading to think the state of him when rolls home, been out since 2pm)

Have a nice evening all.

Grannyapple · 19/05/2012 21:18

Ooh debka scary moment there with the drink...I'd have moved away very slowly from her Smile

Well N seems better today...we spent all afternoon at a friends & then doing the rounds to her mums etc (she's like a surrogate granny to N...treats him like he's her grandson Smile). We're not lung in & N did so well as he didn't get an afternoon nap...fingers crossed for a long-ish lie tomorrow (wishful thinking)

Everything crossed blizy. Told dh that u knew his brother...said he hoped it didn't reflect too badly on him....dh is soo different to BIL Grin

blizy · 19/05/2012 21:27

granny I'm glad Nate is ok. Tell your dh not to worry, there can only be one of your bil (hopefully)! Grin

Grannyapple · 19/05/2012 21:35

Indeed blizy Grin

reastie · 19/05/2012 21:37

Well, Alice still awake here Confused . That's the past 2 evenings she hasn't gone to sleep until after 9pm . We are wondering whether to reduce her morning nap. Any experienced ones got any advice? We currently limit morning nap to 45 mins but maybe this is too much and we should get it down to half an hour? Oh, and while I'm asking Blush , are babies here still having milk feed first thing or not? We do a bf first thing then bfast an hour later but am wondering when to cut this out and go straight for breakfast I'm just too lazy to get out of bed first thing to make breakfast

Thanks for MIL comments. I find myself just trying not to think about it as much as possible or else it drives me mad like this, and I only get like this after I've seen MIL for longer than 2 minutes. Trying to debate whether to say to DH I'm not wanting to go to this pil thing in a couple of weeks and see what he says or just go along and grit my teeth but be driven into feeling manic for the rest of the day again which really does suck.

ems what do you mean by MIL being OK w/ alice on her own? Sorry, I dont' quite understand it Blush . My feelings haven't got any happier yet. SIL had same issues and said she was never happy with things and this was for over 2 years Shock

granny glad measles seems to so far be in hiding. Love you're dh being different to bil comment - am now wondering what your bil is like Wink

blizy forgot your bloods were on friday until you said Blush . Hope the results are positive for ttc - keep us updated. Btw, loved the piccies of you on fb at your own school. I hated school and don't think you could pay me to go to a reunion, but I did have a tour of my old school a few years ago when I applied for a job there and it was really weird looking around it. Nothing had changed and it still had that same school smell!

ILovePonyo · 19/05/2012 21:43

Hello hello, I'm on my phone so will prob miss loads of people, sorry Smile

We've had a nice day at the free city farm where A held a rabbit then fell straight onto her head running around, I swear she falls and hits her head twice a day at the moment Blush
Her friend who is 3 came over later, A just chases her around laughing at her and screeching, very funny and cute, especially when friend stayed to 'help' with bath time so A was running around in the buff before her bath (and did a wee on the floor) Grin

I am loving this walking stage at the moment, she is very good (for now) and will hold my hand and walk when we're out and about, and when she tries to run off I'm getting some reins Wink

Reastie I would feel anxious about my mil having A once a week and can sympathise, do you still feel as anxious now as you did when she first started having her? I'm lucky my pil live so far away Hmm

To all those with poorly/accident prone children, hope they get better soon. It's just the beginning of chicken pox/falls and tumbles/coughs and colds isn't it Confused A has another tooth coming through which will be no 5, how will I cope when she gets molars?!

We met the lovely Mizk and Cass at soft play on fri, so nice seeing the 2 little'uns together, cass is miss independent and such a cutie! A seemed very impressed with cass's climbing and ability to go down the slide on her own, she just shrieked after her quite a lot and tried to go up the slide the wrong way HmmGrin

Ledkr A just seems to poo whenever and wherever, no hiding, no need to though with the smell, poo. She laughs when she does a trump though, funny Smile

Ooh better go she's making a noise but am here lurking as ever

ILovePonyo · 19/05/2012 21:52

Grin at granny, bil and blizy, small world!

Reastie I meant to ask if babies are still having bf or bottle first thing, A still has a bottle but I am also lazy and quite happy to give her a bottle on settee rather than faff about with breakfast. Plus she gets breakfast at nursery 3 days a week so I don't want to change that, it's much quicker giving her a bottle then dumping her at nursery in the morning Blush

Oh and A has managed to go down to 1 daytime nap recently, sometimes it's half an hour, sometimes 2 Confused but it might be why she's sleeping til 7am most mornings so I'm not changing it. It'll be interesting to see how much the other babies are napping...

Grannyapple · 19/05/2012 22:05

ponyo I do same as you re: bottle, for same reason...nursery!

Re: naps...N was having 2 1hr naps..one in morning & afternoon...he started waking at 5-ish (tho I tend to leave him in his cot til as near to 7 as possible). Cut his morning nap to 40 mi s on Friday but then he was ill...going to try to cut naps down next week when we're off, tho lots of days out planned so will see how it goes.

BIL has a heart of gold, but can also be quite loud & a bit much for some people. He & dh used to fight a lot when younger but now get on much better....I think 500 miles between them helps Grin.

ILovePonyo · 19/05/2012 22:06

Grin granny glad its not just re: bottle and nursery!

blizy · 19/05/2012 22:06

reastie Is Alice maybe just over stimulated after todays excitment?

Oh yes, the school smell. It brought back so many memories............

ILovePonyo · 19/05/2012 22:06

Not just me oops

blizy · 19/05/2012 22:10
Grin
reastie · 19/05/2012 22:17

blizy you could be right there. I was going to say no because she did the same yesterday but mIL had her yesterday while my mum worked too. Will see how she is tomorrow night before changing any napping times. She's only just now going to sleep Shock

Glad I'm not the only one doing milk first thing granny and ponyo . What is everyone else doing?

ILovePonyo · 19/05/2012 22:19

Yoohoo blizy Grin

debka · 19/05/2012 22:34

S hardly has any milk at all now, has breakfast when she gets up, with a beaker of cows milk. She sleeps 7-7 at night and has about 1hr in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

reastie I agree with blizy re stimulation. Hope she's asleep now :)

ponyo lucky you and mizk with a meet up Envy

WeAreBorg · 20/05/2012 00:12

Hello there,

My internet is buggered, so will be on sporadically. Virgin are apparently going to come and do some work outside next week so hopefully it might get better. I have already shouted at several people from Virgin Blush.

Just to point out that I have just read all your posts from the last 2 weeks in one go, so may accidentally carry on with conversations that you aren't having any more Blush

Re naps, er, he had 30 mins at lunch and went to bed at 1030pm.

Re milk; he feeds all the time. All the time. Just all the time. His morning feed is a boobie breakfast buffet from about 6am to 8am

ponyo sorry I have not been on, but been thinking of you. Hope reastie is okay, and thinking of blizy and your blood tests.

robin was it you who recommended the bridge? Will def try it, it looks really good. I really liked the ending of Homeland.

ledkr N has a poo step in the kitchen as his preferred place, but is happy to go elsewhere. Ideally, he likes to find a kindly elderly lady to stare at, she will then coo, then proceed to get uncomfortably embarrassed as she realises that the precious angel she is doting over is taking a massive stinking crap.
I can take him to cafes etc myself, he won't stay in a chair, he goes from table to table like he owns the place and is checking that everyone is enjoying their food. I usually just leave him to it, I've only lost him a couple of times.

Going to post this before my connection dies....

Grannyapple · 20/05/2012 05:10

Well can't believe I'm up at this hour (apologies early risers!)...N has woken up with raging temp this time (no puking thankfully). Nappy was absolutely soaking wet too. Stripped him down, given him calpol & sippy cup of water...he took nearly whole lot. Off to google some theories as to what's wrong with him...no rash either....yet.

Emski76 · 20/05/2012 08:08

Granny hope N is ok. Sounds like he's coming down with something.

Reastie, I meant is mil ok with Alice, as in do you trust her to look after her properly, whether she follows your routines etc. I hated mil having Ben for a long time and it did make me feel quite unwell.around that time I also stopped going to in laws as the whole family made comments about Ben constantly and I felt my mothering was being questioned. But mil is fantastic with both boys. Dh had to speak to mil a few times in the beginning when she first started looking after Ben and it's a lot better now. I fully trust her to do what's best for the boys and couldn't manage without her help now. I think if your getting so anxious about it all you need to talk to dh seriously about it. I remember those feelings all too well and it is awful.

Blizy, let us know your results when you get them. How funny that you know Granny's bil, it certainly is a small world!

Re milk.noah doesn't have any milk feeds. He gets most of his milk from food. He has one nap a day from 1ish until 3ish and generally sleeps 7 til 6ish but will stay in his cot until we get him up.

Ponyo, its lovely watching the little ones interact with their friends isn't it. Noah loves following the children around the street on his little bike!

Borg, good to hear from you. I always smile at your posts.

We're off to @ Bristol today then to in laws to drop Ben off as he'll stay there tonight. Have good days all

reastie · 20/05/2012 08:51

Gosh granny hope it's nothing too serious Confused

Re: naps/sleeps I think Alice seems to sleep a bit less than the other babies here except borgs but prob no surprise there Wink . She has maybe up to 45 mins in the morning at about 9, an hour or so usually after lunch and then sleeps maybe 8:30 - 6 at night. I am Envy of these babies who go to bed so early - Alice was up at 10:15 still last night, maybe I have the opposite to ledkrs early wakings.

borg PIL have virgin internet/tv/phone and always seem to be having problems with it

ems re: mil I don't fully trust her with Alice as she is a compulsive liar so I never know if what she says happens has. She is also very set in her ways and does what she thinks she should do whether it be what I want or not no matter what I ask her to do. I don't think I'll ever fully trust her so it's just something I've got to deal with. She is very complex for many reasons . I nearly fainted this morning from all the stress though Shock . I'm glad someone gets me Wink

ledkr · 20/05/2012 09:51

Hi im just posting quick cos my internet has also been playing up and my Nan is gravely ill so expecting the worst so ill post them read up if thats ok.

We are picking up our van on Sat so went to finalised stuff yesterday and went to the zoo after,it was a lovely day with entertainment provided by the ginger one who fell in a stream and carried on Grin

The pil were sniffing around to visit but dh told them we were having a weekend together so they couldnt! I was amazed.

Catch up later.

americanexpat · 20/05/2012 10:03

ledkr - sorry to hear about your granny. Fingers crossed that everything is peaceful for her.

Re naps, L has about 2 hrs at nursery between two naps. At home he sleeps far more, 4 hours yesterday. Shock 2.5 hrs yesterday morning then another 1.5 hrs at 4 then bedtime as usual at 7:45. He usually sleeps until 7, give or take a half hour.

Re milk, L has his breakfast straight away in the mornings. We're usually getting up anyway and he wouldn't have time for breakfast before nursery if he has milk first. I don't give him much milk but I think he drinks a lot at nursery.

L just lets loose with the poo whenever and wherever. Shock It's usually after he wakes but has been known to do it in his highchair too (with leg lifted). He's really not bothered by having a dirty nappy so I have to wrestle him to the ground to change it.

wiggles - L had 4 teeth come through twice (4 top teeth then 4 molars) and it was a fecking nightmare! Hopefully you make it through with your sanity.

We're having naughty cream scones for breakfast because I found a pot of clotted cream marked down to 20p at Tesco last night. At least I won't feel bad when half of it goes mouldy as usual. Also they're doing the Clubcard voucher exchange for baby & toddler items (inc nappies) now. I swapped £20 of vouchers and came out with a trolley full of nappies and wipes last night. Shock

ledkr · 20/05/2012 10:09

Its still working so ill quickly post.

I hope hes ok granny what a worry, dont take any chances.

wiggs D was also off food and whiney then i discovered 4 molars bless her.

reastie I dont see why you have to trail everywhere with dh and Alice. I cope better now by doding my own thing. Dh is trying to get us to go for a visit soon so i told him i wopuld but that i would be going into London with Ella not hanging around eating all day at their house. I did attempe to stay here whilst he took D but they do resist that dont they?

D is all over the place with naps now,she has one in the morning then we cant seem to get her off again so we put her to bed about 6,30 which strangely leads to a later wake up time. She went late last night and woke up at 5.30 Shock

I am just about to get my af which is nice as we probably have along day at the hospital. grrr.

reastie · 20/05/2012 10:19

Gosh ledkr that's awful. I've just been through all that so thinking of you and your Nan and hope she isn't in pain and you are OK. x

blizy · 20/05/2012 11:19

Ledkr- sorry to hear about your nan, I hope she is peaceful. Thinking about you today my lovely.
