Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 14:11

It's mine that she's lifting, btw - not hers. That wouldn't bother me! :o

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/05/2012 15:25

Hi blizy and Robin!

Hope the cleaning went well, does Alfie help yet? Loved the pic of him up the curtains Grin

Robin, b doesn't lift his top but does hold his 'winkle' at any given opportunity and points to daddy's boobies Wink when he's topless. No tantrums today, yet. Do you think they are having the terrible twos early and will calm down in a few months? PLEASE!

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 15:52

Needto it's not her own top she's lifting - it's mine! I'm sure that no one wants to see my wrinkly stretch marked tummy [
Blush.

L keeps tantruming with her walker. When she gets to the end of the room she hasn't worked out how to turn it round so she keeps getting cross! She's not walking properly yet. She gets up, takes three steps, falls over and then gives up and crawls. Occasionally she'll try walking again!

It feels like she started the terrible twos at 6 months! :o

reastie · 15/05/2012 18:13

Thanks for the thoughts, it was very tough yesterday, harder than I was expecting, but I got through it. Couldn't sleep at all last night and tbh think I needed today off work to process everything but couldn't substantiate calling in sick when I felt able to work [too hard working for my own good] . Have Alices cold as well now ( so nearly lost my voice and generally feeling miserable.

needto please expand your special patented method for getting Ben in her pc is it just shove him in and ignore screams?

Had to leave Alice with MIL when I went to work today and she was screaming her head off and didn't want to go to mil. That's never happened before as usually she is still napping when I leave for work so it could happen every week for all I know it's just I don't see it . It was so hard to leave her Confused . Just ran out of the room quickly thinking I'll make it worse if I stay around. On the plus side though after our amazing session at gymboree last week Alice has turned herself around and now loves Tumble Tots Grin

drdeb poor you and Bean. How did the trip to GP go?

Merci to those of you on my mess free breakfast ideas thread, I'm going to try making muffins at the week end, I'm so fed up of the mess and time to clean up afterwards and just don't have the time

robin can't help with tummy flashing I'm afraid - think Alice knows better than to scare everyone off by doing that with me Wink

ledkr keep meaning to ask how are you blacking out Dillys window? We are trying to do Alices but not sure how to do it.

reastie · 15/05/2012 18:14

her....I mean him needto Blush

debka · 15/05/2012 18:23

reastie I am a past master at blacking out windows, we have blackout blinds and thick curtains but when S sleeps at my aunt's I hang a duvet over the curtain rail Grin. Are you in work again tomorrow or will you get a bit of time off to process things?

needto S does that too, actually so does Imy come to mention it Hmm

Dr agreed it's croup, but apparently it tends to only last 2-3 nights so not worth giving her steroids. She seems a lot better this afternoon, ate masses of lasagne and a yoghurt so I think she's on the mend.

Off to sw later, wish me luck :)

reastie · 15/05/2012 18:31

Good luck at SW Deb . Nope, work again tomorrow Sad but then day off even if it is being spent taking alice to gymboree, buying flowers to decorate the house for DHs bday lunch at week end and then cleaning house for said occasion Hmm . I need a day off Wink . Re: blackouting Alices room. The thing is Hmm I bought her a beautiful pair of laura ashley childrens room curtains last year which are beautiful but very very very thin, and I don't want to have to part with them Grin . We also have a relatively thick blind under the curtains which does a good job but lets out lots of light along the top/sides of the window. We're currently using a pair of ugly old curtains my Mum had which are nice and thick and sort of do the job but ohhhhh so ugly compared to the pretty pink ones she had Confused . We are wondering about buying a proper blackout blind for the window but I don't know if we'll have the same issue with light escaping along the top/sides

blizy · 15/05/2012 18:45

Reastie- why about buying blackout lining for the pretty curtains? Dh had some when he worked night shift years ago and thy are fab!

Robin- Grin and Blush at L flashing your tummy.

Debka- good luck, but im sure you don't need any. Glad to hear Bean is on the mend.

Needto- I have to put Alfie in another room when in folding the washing as he attacks it.Grin

So bored this evening, tv is rubbish, done all my housework today an ld Alfie is sleeping. Wish Dh was home.

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 19:05

Blizy spend time on MN then :o! Tuesday night TV is crap! Although the only thing I seem to watch nowadays is Corrie Hmm. I watch TOWIE and MIC but they are on at 10pm, which is past my bedtime (rock and roll me).

Reastie we have been known to put bin liners up at the window in times of desperate need [classy]. The house behind us has a security light and when it comes on it shines right through the girls' bedroom window! It doesn't seen to bother Isabel (the house could be bulldozed around her and she still wouldn't wake up) but we thought it was bothering L. We've taken them down now though!

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 19:07

Meant to say good luck at SW Deb. Poor Bean, although I'm glad she ate something.

wigglesrock · 15/05/2012 19:44

debka glad Bean is feeling a bit better, lasagne will help, lasagne always helps Grin Hope you get on great at SW.

blizy work going ok at the minute, but am thinking of knocking it on the head after the summer Shock. I still have the possibility of working Sundays hanging about and there's no way I could work both Sat and Sundays. Mr W will be going back to his normal shifts after his secondment ends and my parents can't have them all weekend especially with my dad still working - it wouldn't be fair. Might just see how it goes, if it doesn't work out, I can pick up a bit of casual labour - doesn't bother me.

RobinSparkles glad job is going ok Grin Anna pulled my top down for a good old nosy today Shock, not sure what she was expecting!

reastie I've never used blackouts but most of my friends are fine with the blackout blind. Hope work goes ok tomorrow x

Anna has developed a charming habit of shaking her head and saying "uh uh" when you ask her to do anything, apart from putting stuff in the bin, that's her favourite thing. It mightn't need to go in the bin but its the thought that counts Grin

Emski76 · 15/05/2012 20:00

Robin, and Wiggles, Noah likes to pull my top down and say boobies!! Cute but embarrassing when in public. He likes me to open up the poppers on history suit do he can lift it up and point out his tummy and belly button!! He's body obsessed!

Reastie, hope today wasn't too bad. It's hard when you don't get time to grieve properly. Re blackout blinds, Bens always had them and thick curtains, but the light does come in round the sides. Noah has blackout blinds and curtains AND we hang two sheets over the curtain track to stop the light peeking through. Seems to work!

Deb, glad Bean is getting better. Must be awful hearing her cough so badly.

Hi to everyone else. I'm off to look at Reasties breakfast thread.

blizy · 15/05/2012 20:36

emski Grin at Noah.

wiggles Wow, giving up work! I'm sure you will find stripping "casual work" if needed Grin.

ledkr · 15/05/2012 20:51

Ello ello. Have been mega busy dancing am proud to report my beautiful dd got 3 2nds and a 3rd she was amazingWe just celebrated with a pizza ans im stuffed.
wiggs good for you giving up work,do something you enjoy,i adore my job, never tire of meeting new people and trying to help.
reastie I read that the black out screens let light in or fall down. D has a black out roller blind but light gets in at sides.I have bought stick on velcro and will use a bin liner and stick it over the glass iyswim.
D was spirited at the dancing and danced to the music but at one point i was so busy seeing to Ella i literally forgot her and found her with a load of people all looking Hmm and stopping her going downstairs. how embarassing.
Off to catch up,

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 21:44

Sounds intriguing blizy!

Well done Ella. Smile

Hope Bean gets better soon, debka, and good luck with SW.

I hope you find something you prefer soon wiggles.

Sorry you had such a rough day reastie. Hope you get some time to reflect soon.

Waves to everyone else. Hope all babies are sleeping well for you.

reastie · 16/05/2012 09:08

Morning all,

Well done ella on the dancing ledkr must get it from her mum Wink

deb how was sw?

wiggles lady of leisure eh? Love the stripping reference blizy - had forgotten that's what wiggles really does Wink

blizy might look into blackout lining for the pretty curtains and see how that goes.

Well, I feel really really guilty but have taken the day off work Blush . Had another night of not sleeping at all and I've pretty much lost my voice which makes teaching a practical subject very hard at the best of times. I just couldn't stop crying this morning so thought it was best not going in and risk having the kids make me cry when I would struggle through teaching with no voice Shock . A build up of everything really. Felt a bit better when DM said I was entitled to a week off for bereavement anyway (not that I will take it). Have had a long bath and now going to try and get some rest and just be quiet. This is my first Alice free relax morning ever I think, just a shame it's not under happier circumstances Confused .

blizy · 16/05/2012 09:18

Reastie- sorry you are not feeling good. I'm glad you took a day off work, sounds like you really need it. Hope you have a relaxing day. (hugs headed your way). X

debka · 16/05/2012 09:28

reastie great move, just what you needed. Enjoy your morning to yourself :)

ledkr massive well done to Ella!

wiggles Grin

Lost 2.5lb at sw last night, 3lb till I get my 6st award Shock

americanexpat · 16/05/2012 10:48

reastie - Enjoy your day off (that sounds flippant but I hope you know what I mean).

ledkr - well done to Ella!

Re blackout blinds, we had some thick blackout plastic that we stuck around the window with double sided tape, it really blocked all the light unless there was a gap. It was cheap from Amazon, less than £10.

[waves to everyone else]
