Morning ladies! Well done D on the lie in ledkr. N was up at 6.30 Hmm...occasionally he let's us have a lie in at the w/e til 7.30-8, but he was a right wee moan & on one this morning....thankfully dh saw to him & I managed to escape out the door for a run Wink

Too true ledkr re being grateful for what we have....the news story about 2 babies being smothered was awful....turns out the father is a work colleague of one of my friends....I felt sick when my friend told me, as did she....she was all teary in work when they got told...

Keep looking at antenatal boards thinking that was us lot about to start the whole pg journey 2 years ago...

Had a nice w/e so far....met friends & their 2 boys who were over from the states...haven't seen them since I was 5 months pg...they've had a 2nd since then too...N was in his element trying to eat stones Hmm

Shower & then chores today...& hopefully park later, is a glorious day here today.

reastie good luck for tomorrow x

blizy · 13/05/2012 12:53

wiggles- Grin at Olivia and get 3rd click clack arm! I watched the first few episodes of the voice only because I know the woman barbers who was on it.

Ledkr- wow at your lie in, well done DillsGrin! I will be looking out for you on the newsWink.

Granny- I have sent you a pm. Hope you enjoyed your peace run this morning and make it out to the park.

The weather here is pretty vile today, so it just a trip to asda for me. Hope you are all ok.

ledkr · 13/05/2012 14:49

blizy werent there weather warnings for your neck of the woods today?

Gosh been busy, took girls to the park for a shop bought picnic it was really nice, dills is shattered, ive just put her in her cot for a nap.Due to her later wake ups i find she doesnt want the morning nap.
I took her to a wanky coffee shop today she spent the whole time making a break for the door or spiling my drink and throwing blueberry muffins at me Hmm i swear i usedto be able to do that with Ella whilst she sat in her highchair life as i knew it is over.
granny Im so impressed with you actually "going for a run" like its going for a pint,im hoping to share that enthusiasm one day.

blizy · 13/05/2012 18:13

ledkr sorry but Grin at Dilly. I must have missed the weather warnings, it is very windy and rainy though nothing too unusal for Glasgow.

I haven't seen any news today, so not heard anything about the poor kids.Sad

dh is out watching football whilst I'm slaving away in the kitchen making dinner.Hmm

Hope you are all having lovely Sundays.

reastie How are you today? If I don't get on tomorrow I want you to know I will be thinking about you. x

reastie · 13/05/2012 18:20

Thanks granny and blizy for the thoughts. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow at all and have been quite wobbly this week end. We are taking Alice to the funeral but DH is sitting at the back ready to whip her out if needed and I will sit at the front with my family. I'd like DH with me but it's prob best if I'm not with Alice or I'll just worry about her screeching.

blizy love the pic of Alfie on fb jumping the curtains - I both Shock and Grin when I saw it. Hope you're curtains arn't as expensive as that material I saw in John Lewis the other day Wink

Well, today I have cooked homemade leek and potato soup, pizza, big batch of veggie bolognese, chocolate biscuits, flapjacks and chocolate cake Grin . DH stewed some rhubarb from the garden and you would have thought he had invented cooking the amount he went on and on about his amazing stewed rhubarb Hmm

debka · 13/05/2012 20:13

Hey everyone,

ledkr you've really got your hands full with that one, just imagine what she'll be like as a teenager Grin

reastie I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, glad you've got the Alice arrangements sorted. Have you and DH made up yet? Well done btw on all that baking, sounds yum!

blizy hope you've been able to squeeze a quickie out of DH this weekend Wink

wiggles your tv in bed evenings sound lovely, can't wait till mine are old enough not to turn into gremlins at 7pm Grin

Had a lovely weekend, went out with The Fam to a carvery for my mum's birthday, the girls were really good Shock. Glad I didn't pay for them (kids carvery was about £5), Imogen ate 4 pieces of carrot and a sprig of broccoli, Sabine ate a Yorkshire pudding. They both strangely found room for treacle spinge and custard for afters Grin.

We've had a few weeks of health but little Beany seems to be sickening for something again, she's been very quiet, bit of a temp I think, and a really rattly chest and now has a horrible sounding cough as well. Think we might go to the gp tomorrow if she's no better, Poor sausage :(

wigglesrock · 13/05/2012 20:30

blizy weather has been atrocious here today, so windy and bloody freezing. Even the girls who usually just stick a coat on and fire on out, couldn't be persuaded to venture out of my Mums today Grin

ledkr I used to be able to take S and O out to wanky Grin shops all the time, I can usually manage Tescos with Anna as I have a constant supply of food to occupy her Blush but coffee shops deffo a no no Grin.

debka hope Bean starts to feel better. Desperate cough thing going on through the schools here at the minute. Half of Sofias class was off last week. S and O always manage to find room for dessert as well. In fact Olivia is always "starving", however when offered toast/bread etc seems to be only "hungry for biscuits" her words not mine Grin

Sofias school summer fete is next Saturday, my mum and aunt are taking the girls as I have to work (there is a God Grin) and I have to leave bits and pieces up for the stalls/raffle/bottle stand etc - is it bad that for the 3rd year in a row my donation clinks in the bag Blush

Oh Moneyball was really good Shock, surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

wigglesrock · 13/05/2012 20:31

reastie sorry sweetheart, posted too soon - will be thinking of you tomorrow xxx

ledkr · 13/05/2012 20:55

wiggles Im glad its not just me with a wild one,I had afriend who had a dd the same,i only saw the back of her for about 2 years as she ran after her toddler.
D is soooo strong too,e cant cope with her either the other day she chased her off the drive and I found her restraining her face down in the gutter, she actually probably weighs nearly as much as Els.

reastiegood luck tomorrow.

blizy · 13/05/2012 21:06

Reastie- they are only cheapy curtains, he was climbing up the inside lining.

Wiggles- well gone in getting out the fair! The best prizes are the alcohol- everyone knows that.Grin

Debka- hope bean is ok? How is your mum these days?

debka · 13/05/2012 21:14

Aw blizy you are sweet :) My mum is doing well atm, no resurgence of anything, and it's almost a year since her last chemo, so that's really good. She off on holiday with my dad for 3 weeks to Scotland next week, I'll tell her to wave when they drive past Glasgow.

Beany's asleep but I keep hearing pathetic little cries and worryingly whoopy sounding coughs :(

Grannyapple · 13/05/2012 21:49

Ha aha ledkr..the running is turning into bit of a chore at the mo, with the race coming up in 2 weeks. But I know if I dont get up & out early, I'll rarely make it out for a run later in the day. Which reminds me, here is a link to my juts giving page for anyone who wanted to donate..obvioulsy not expecting you to (given that we don't actually "know" each other Wink) so feel free to ignore if you wish!

JustGivingPage

Baked a raspberry bakewell earlier...was yum..though now have large-ish cake that we need to get through did not think this through

Off to get ready for work...3 more days, then off for a week...have been googling places to go despite us agreeing that we would stay at home due to wedding of the year coming up but saw somewhere in Newquay as a deal..we've always wanted to go...need to talk dh round me thinks Wink

Grannyapple · 13/05/2012 22:01

p.s. have just posted a family pic...was taken around N's 1st birthday, but all the later pics are on my phone & I'm rubbish at figuring out how to get them from there onto here!

N is usually happier than he appears in this photo, by the way Grin

blizy · 13/05/2012 22:02

debka fab news! Scotland on holiday? Do your parents know we are having our 3rd winter?

Oh no I hope it's not whooping cough, just keep a close eye on her. x

granny I will get round to sponsoring you at then end of the week (pay day) Grin I had the baking bug today and made a huge batch of choc chip cookies ( they are fab, taste just like millies cookies).

Righto, I'm off to bed now. Good night all, hope the babies are snoring their little heads off all night long.

tadjennyp · 14/05/2012 06:36

Hello, just wanted to say I'm thinking of you today reastie.

Glad the Bean is on the mend debka and your Mum too. Hope she has a lovely trip.

Poo to all inlaws being pants. Hope you managed to find some time with dh blizy.

Lovely photo grannyapple. Smile

Two of my babies are February and they are both wild! Next door's little girl shares a birthday with A but three years younger and they have the same personality!

Only 5 days left till dh comes home. Hurray! Smile

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone. Hope you all have great Mondays.

americanexpat · 14/05/2012 09:52

reastie - thinking of you today.

Granny - I can't see your photo. Sad

wiggles - clinking prizes are my favourite. Grin

blizy - the weather was ridiculous yesterday. Hmm I nearly lost my washing but it blew into the hedges instead!

Will be back to post again later, must get some actual work done...

ILovePonyo · 14/05/2012 12:12

Thinking of you today reastie.

I went out yesterday to an all dayer dp's band were playing, was very good fun but I was drinking from 4 so feeling a bit rough today Sad

reastie · 14/05/2012 18:36

Just a quickie to say thanks for the thoughts everyone. Got through the day. Sorry but just too exhausted to say much more Confused but hello to everyone

debka · 15/05/2012 09:47

Glad you got through it reastie, how are you feeling today apart from covered with breakfast cereal Grin

Bloody HAIL today on the way to pre school, where's the summer gone?

I'm pretty sure Bean-a-lean's got croup. She's barking like a seal when she's asleep, and really quite poorly when awake. Taking her to the GP later so he can give me my Dr From The Royal College of Google certificate Grin

Hope all well with you all, happy Tuesdays :)

americanexpat · 15/05/2012 10:06

Dr debka - Poor Bean. Sad I hope she's on the mend soon.

reastie - How are you feeling today? Are you working?

Ponyo - HOW'S YOUR HEAD TODAY, PONYO? Grin I've got no alcohol tolerance any more, hungover from half a bottle of wine. Drinking from 4 would put me in bed by 8. Grin

A new baby is starting at L's nursery soon, s/he was in for a settling in session yesterday and apparently L was quite jealous. Shock He's always been the youngest (small nursery) and is used to having a lot of attention. I was speaking with the nursery manager yesterday when I collected him and he kept grabbing my hand and tugging me towards the door. Hmm

L's nose has been a fountain of green the last week, I think I've finally caught whatever he has, as my head is sore and I can feel my sinus running. Sad

wigglesrock · 15/05/2012 11:56

Ponyo hope you had the hangover cure of McDonalds and coke on tap yesterday Grin, even with the raging hangover I'm slightly jealous

debka Hope Beanie babe gets sorted out at GP later, strangely there was a piece in our local paper a while back about the increase of whooping cough over here.

americanexpat poor L, having his nose put out of joint, Anna doesn't take it well when my Dad has one of the other girls on his knee Envy. She doesn't seem to mind my niece so much but not best pleased if its S or O. Hope you start to feel better.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/05/2012 12:20

Hello all,

Haven't really caught up yet, just skimmed through a bit. Why is my Internet connection so fickle??? And why was mn having 'downtime' this morning?

reastie you sound like you need a hug you poor thing, hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Grin @dr Debka, did you get your cert? Hope bean is okay, i know someone who's baby had croup and it sounded quite bad, had to be admitted to hospital but he was a lot younger than bean. Have you tried the steamy bathroom to help clear it?

Uh oh ponyo, how's your head?

Not much happening here, Ben has been very sweet lately but still rubbish at sleeping. We are now co sleeping half the night as it's the only way we can all survive. Oh, ledkr and other mums with, ahem, spirited babies, it might reassure you to know that Ben has had more tantrums in public. He keeps insisting on being carried, he says no repeatedly (except it sounds more like 'nine') to his pushchair and walking. I do get him in the pc eventually using my special patented manoeuvre and he settles after about 5 mins but it's so stressful!

Will now go and see what I've missed out on.

blizy · 15/05/2012 12:34

Afternoon all,

Reastie- hope you are ok?

Ponyo- I'm well Envy of your day out (not the hangover though(.

American- poor L not being the youngest at nursery anymore.

Debka- how is bean today?

Needto- yikes to the tantrums!

Wiggles- sibling rivalry already with Anna! Hope the girls are all well. How's things in work these days?

Busy we day of cleaning before I pick up the rugrats from school.

Hope you are all having a good day.

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 14:07

Hi everyone :)

Just noticed that I didn't really post over the weekend, how useless am I?

Sorry for all the poorly babies.

Debka hope S gets better soon :(. Croup sounds horrible.

Ledkr I totally sympathise with you on the PITA spirited baby! I can't sit with L in her pushchair in a cafe either :(. At the moment she's being a right little horror bag - every time I go near her she waves me off with much shaking of the head.

needto I'm with you on the huge tantrums. I'm hoping she'll calm down by the time she's a teenager.

Reastie hope you're feeling ok :)

Hi to everyone else!

Work is going ok, thanks for asking. There are a couple of little swines cheeky ones but they're mostly ok. I only see DD1 for about 15 minutes while she's eating but sometimes I spy on her across from the junior playground. She looks so sweet playing with her friends :).

RobinSparkles · 15/05/2012 14:10

Grr, have anyone else's little ones have an obsession of lifting their top up to see their tummy! It's so embarrassing in public!
