wigglesrock · 01/05/2012 21:39

MizK I'm weaning her on Raspberry Beret at the minute Grin

blizy my dog hates the hoover as well, but not as much as she hates the bath!

debka · 01/05/2012 22:04

Hey everyone, hugs to reastie and ponyo :)

Yuk to eyebrows and grooming, although I always feel better when I make the effort. Generally I'm in the 44 camp though Blush

Confused to you music fans, I much prefer a nice bit of peace and quiet, my life is far too noisy as it is since Imy learned screaming at pre school

ems do biscuits and beer actually go? Hmm

blizy and wiggs I used to vacuum my cats, they were so bloody hairy Grin

Weigh in tonight, Iost 2lb this week

ledkr · 01/05/2012 22:15

borgy I was pleased about the footy too,Im a Liverpool supporter and hate manu. I am watching At home with the Noonans about the manchester gangsters its really interesting and abit Hmm

blizy glad all went well. The not too much sex would explain why i got pg post the shagging like rabbits honeymoon period.

ponyo good luck for everything you have to face this week.

I am a mad groomer too,but you have to be at my age Grin I get my brows threaded and tinted and my badger head dyed about every 4 weeks.Mizk you can regrow eyebrows using rapid lash. Its 40 quid in boots,i have had to stop using it on my lashes as they are mahoosive and i look like a giraffe.

Ex ow had a baby yesterday and Ella went to visit today. We armed her with flowers and a nice card and dropped her off and had a peep at the baby. Dh and i congratulated ourselves on our modern parenting. He said we are the 21st century Waltons Grin He is so funny.

americanexpat · 02/05/2012 09:40

blizy - you aren't squeamish, are you? TCOYF can be a bit, erm, graphic. Grin I used to chart on Fertility Friend (free if you can resist their upsell) as I couldn't be arsed with the paper charts. Grin at Alfie in the toilet, can't believe he let you dry him. Shock We started keeping the lid down when our cats were little, someone told me an horrible story about a kitten drowning in the toilet.

Emski - the beer and biscuits sound fab. Like MizK I'm wasting away on WW so must live vicariously through your biscuit eating. Can I sniff the packet? Grin

Ponyo - how sweet, A's little posy. No shame in primping for the funeral, you'll be seeing loads of people.

Horrible night with L last night, he was up 5 times before I went to bed and once during the night, then up early this morning. Hmm I think one of his top canines is going to come through soon. I hope it's soon anyway. Wine Wine Wine

WeAreBorg · 02/05/2012 10:36

Had some bad news, a friend of mine has a 7month old, she has been poorly for a little while but we didn't know why. She got her diagnosis, some rare disease that isn't cancer but behaves like it and she needs to start chemo Sad. I just don't know what to do to try and help, they'll be in hospital for at least the next month. Really hope the chemo works, can't bear to think that it won't.

ponyo and reastie hope you are doing okay. Nightmare re will pon, hope it all gets settled amicably.

ledkr Grin Waltons. Yes I am from the anyone but ManU camp too Smile

blizy DH wants a rock baby too, N has a few of those ACDC and Guns 'n Roses t-shirts. It was funny when MIL looked after him the other day, DH had dressed him in one, and I noticed when I came home she had put another "sensible" top on him over his t-shirt to take him out. I'm still playing occasional classical music to him in true PFB style. Good luck for the day 21 tests.

blizy · 02/05/2012 11:01

Shock at debka hoovering her cats!

american not squemish at all, Im willing to try anything. We do keep the lids down, but idiotic dh forgot to put it down after he finished (surprise, surprise). Poor you and Leo, I hope has a good night tonight.

borg I hope your friends little one pulls through, they must be so worried. Sad

Grin at your little rocker and Shock at mil changing his top!

americanexpat · 02/05/2012 12:13

Borg - how horrible. Sad Fingers crossed for that poor little baby.

44me - the move is current vaguely scheduled for mid to end of August. I've already got spreadsheets. Hmm

tadjennyp - I meant to ask if you moved your house contents from here to there and how (sea freight, etc)? Just wondering approx how much it cost. DH's new employer is not offering any relocation expenses (except a token $500 which she's offering from her own grant budget) so I think we're leaving nearly all our furniture behind but have some books, kitchenwares, etc to move.

Emski76 · 02/05/2012 13:02

Hi all
Borg, such sad news about your friends little girl. I really hope she's ok.
Love the Guns n Roses etc t shirts. Noah has a few environmental ones that used to be Bens. One says Save out Trees Please. I love making a statement through my children!

Deb, beer and biscuits was a strange combination but the cupboards were bare!! American, yes you can sniff the packet, but I'll warn you I licked it first!! Also, sorry about your terrible night with L last night. Its rotten isn't it?

Its my birthday tomorrow (also EuroDisney day!!) so I;ve brought cream cakes into work, already had one and probably heading for another later. I will never loose my half stone if I carry on like this!

Led, you are very Waltons about your ex baby, your dh is right, and very funny!

American, whewre abouts in the US are you going to live? You've probably discussed this with us before but my memory is absolutely poop!

Noah walked 17 steps in the garden yesterday, yes, dh counted. Think he's still not quite sure whether its worth the hassle, but am planning on letting him walk loads on holiday so he'll get a taste of the freedom!

oh, yippe, work is a-calling, best be off. Talk later

wigglesrock · 02/05/2012 13:14

Emski you must be so excited! about EuroDisney anyway Grin.

blizy I know a few people who use taking charge of your fertility book and temping for the opposite reasons you are, as a contraceptive aid and it works for them so here's hoping the opposite is true Grin Don't forget to stick a pillow under your bum after the deed, I know a bit graphic for lunchtime but hey hum Grin

Borg horrible news about your friends baby [hugs] I know its really trite but if you are just there for both of them it will help. And food either at home or in the hospital.

american how's L?

ledkr tbh you're a better woman than me Grin and very modern!

blizy · 02/05/2012 14:03

Emski- Ohhh bet you and the boys can't wait until Disney! Yay- to Noah walkingGrin.

What a lovely thing to do ledkr! (I would do it through gritted teeth and lots of moaning under breath). How is Ella coping with the new baby?

I have a horrible headache and hve to pick the kids up from school soon.Sad. On the plus side, I only have them until 4pm and I'm off tomorrow as schools are closed (voting).Grin

ledkr · 02/05/2012 14:10

wiggs Trust me id like to murder the pair of them but I know its me who will have to pick up the pieces of a fucked up child so my reasons are more selfish than gracious iyswim?Ella cried when she got back from her visit Sad she must feel so confused about it all.People should think seriously before embarking on affairs,it is so bad for the children.Angry

borg Awfull about the baby, they must be beside themselves.I cant bear th think of d being ill,it was bad enough all her other stuff.

Am sat here having a cuppa and trying to get rid of a cracking headache as we speak. I have the dancing run to do and then am working later for a few hrs,i hope it goes by then,im in no mood for it tbh.

We went to toddlers today,d loves it and goes off playing and stealing snacks from people. She is allowed juice at toddlers and thinks it amazing, she carries it about like me and my wine Grin

To all those of you who dont like toddlers cos of the Mums you should come to mine.We sit in the corner like a coven, talking about sex/men/other mums and swearing under our breath Grin Love it.

ledkr · 02/05/2012 14:14

x post blizy-how weird.so similar

reastie · 02/05/2012 14:48

wiggs does a pillow under the bum after dtd actually work then? DH got me to do that I thought he was a nutter Grin

ems have a great time at disneyland (and hope PIL behave themselves)

mamawaltonledkr love the waltons comment from your DH and Sad for ella

borg what terrible news. I really don't know what to say. x

american keep meaning to ask how the quilt is taking shape? When you move to America are you going to have one of those beautiful big houses like they all seem to have on the american TV shows?

Btw speaking of TV, was I the only one who didn't know homeland brody was actually a bit of a british posh boy? I thought he was american and couldn't get past the fact he sounds completely different irl on HIGNFY?

blizy · 02/05/2012 16:10

Ledkr- poor Ella, it must be so hard and strange for her. Lots of Mama ledkr cuddles prescribed.

Yay- thats be finished until friday. .

wigglesrock · 02/05/2012 16:17

reastie seriously Grin I knew he was a posh boy from when he was doing the interviews for Band of Brothers. He's married to yer woman who always plays Cherie Blair and was Draco Malfos mum Grin Helen somebody.

Meant to say was watching Homeland, when ad for Prometheus came on. Mr W has been banging on for ages about this - Ridley Scott new film, blah, blah, genius etc but then I realised Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender are both in it - in the same film - be still my ageing loins Grin

blizy go on dare you to go into Debs and ask for a sex pillow Grin

ledkr · 02/05/2012 18:02

wiggs That film does look amazing-cant wait to see it esp to drool over Idris.

blizy A normal pillow will do,not that id know I think i "got caught" cos i fell asleep after and didnt have my usual trip to the loo Blush I dont even remember dtd that month nor does dh.

Has your headache gone?Mine has.Im just going to get ready and then piuck Ella up then go to work.I really should be a size 10 you know.

Four4me · 02/05/2012 20:50

Hope Ella is ok ledkr must be strange for her. Love the Walton ref!

How awful for your friends and their baby borg so so sad. Let hope and pray that the treatment is a resounding success.

American hope you get a better night tonight.

Forgot to say earlier this week at Josephs swimming lesson and i looked up and saw a man that i immediately thought 'how do i know him???' i finally realised that he was ........ mrwiggles'sseperatedatbirthtwinbrother omg it was amazing. We have a real life Yorkshire MrW!!!!

Yeah to Noah! Archie is still like a little drunk man walking.

Grin at blizy requesting a sex pillow!!!!! Get ya legs up cycling in the air girl!!! Singing 'go swimmers go!!' hee hee

americanexpat · 03/05/2012 09:59

blizy - sex pillow?! Shock I'm just imagining what you'll find if you search online for one. Shock [tempted to search but at work]

reastie - re the quilt, I've just started the 3rd block for Tuesday's class. I'll post a photo on FB when I'm finished. re the giant house, I wish. Envy We'll probably have a tiny expensive rubbish flat so DH can walk to work. Sad

ledkr - Sad for Ella.

Current houseguest is much much much better than previous houseguests. He puts his dishes in the dishwasher and doesn't seem bothered when L is carrying on at 6:30am. Plus he brought me 12 bottles of beer from a lovely local brewery that I miss. Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 03/05/2012 13:10

american glad to hear your guest is behaving himself and keeping you in wine Grin

borg so sorry to hear about your friend's baby, can't imagine that at all.

ledkr I am polishing you a medal for the way you handle things with exp and ow. You're right, it has a massive impact but with you as her mum Ella will do alright. I would love to come along to one of your toddler groups, the ones we go to are good but it is a bit pfb/ competitive sometimes, there are a couple of women there, and a dad actually, who are like minded though Wink. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know can't remember dtd when I got pg, it really was a shock, the night before I found out I was having a coffee and cigarette in the garden with a friend saying I should just do a test to let my body know it was okay for AF to come iykwim. She gave me an out of date one so still wasn't sure until OH bought a shopful some new ones.

blizy Grin at the sex cushion, I have heard of this before, just make sure dh has to sleep on it afterwards Grin I hope Alfie is recovered from his underwater adventure, bless him. Bet he's even fluffier now!

reastie glad you got the card, long story which I shall bore you with another time!

ems Woo hoo to N walking! Is it me or does our group prove the theory that, in general, boys tend to do things later than girls? Anyway, have a fab holiday Smile

Grin to four4 having found a MrW doppelganger, wiggles can you account for where he was at the time in question?

I've been laughing so much at a AIBU thread where a woman is complaining about her MIL because she spends more on her ds than her with presents and Shock she had bare shoulders at her wedding! Tis brilliant!

B had 2 major tantrums in Waterstones yesterday, proper throwing himself on the floor and screaming. I was so Blush and pretended he wasn't mine to be admiring the selection of wrapping paper until he stopped. Is that the right way to handle these things? He wanted me to carry him all day and my back was killing me so I made the error of encouraging him to walk, he went in the pushchair straight after though. He's getting so determined about things, trying to pick my battles but it's already getting difficult and he's only 15 sodding months Hmm Oh and sleep is for wimps again....

ILovePonyo · 03/05/2012 13:31

Howdy,

Needto Grin at blizy making her dh sleep on the spunky sex cushion and Grin at you pretending B wasn't yours, that made me laugh. I have no idea how to handle tantrums etc but am guessing ignoring must be good - its just like on Supernanny isn't it Wink Sorry about lack of sleep, is it teeth again?

american yay for presents of beer, always a winner in my book. Shame about the lack of big house, I always imagine somethinglike wisteria lane when I think of american houses.

Borg your poor friend, what an absolute nightmare. Sending best wishes to them :(

Re: rock babies, A has a misfits babygrow with a glow in the dark skeleton on Grin but my friend says she thinks A will turn out like Saffy from Ab Fab, she'll go the opposite way to us ie a mum with lots of tattoos and a dad who plays in a loud shouty band - A will be v demure and disapproving of such things!

ledkr aah hugs for Ella, I know we've all said it before but she really is such a sweet girl, its horrible to think of her being upset. Love the image of Dilly clinging to her juice like you wth your wine Grin

emski HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and wow at N walking, that is impressive.

A walked 3 steps yesterday (woo!) and again today but is still much happier crawling. We have just spent 3 hours nearly at messy play with friends, was v nice excpet some childen are so gross, urg there was a girl there with snot all over her face, it made me feel sick. I kept looking and it was still there, then all of a sudden it had gone Shock so was prob wiped somewhere, so grim. Also she was an older one so should have buggered off out of the baby bit, she kept saying 'watch me' but I couldn't as the snot was making me feel ill. Don't judge me Wink

Am dreading tomo but am stressing about getting there on time, we're dropping A at nursery at 7.30 so as early as poss but am still woriied about motorway traffic. Ah well suppose there is nothing I can do if we get stuck is there? Oh and I am driving as dp drives too slow Grin

reastie · 03/05/2012 14:53

ponyo good to hear from you. Btw, forgot to answer before but Grannys funeral is on Monday week. Btw that is one of the reasons why I hate messy play and have never taken alice (don't judge me either Blush ). Thinking of you tomorrow - how much extra time have you got for bad traffic? Is there a back up route you can take if motorway is jammed?

needto really feel for you with Ban having a tantrum in waterstones. FWIW I read in the mn toddler book ignoring is a good method of dealing with it (but at the same time mortifying when in public). It said never give in to tantrums or they know to do it to get what they want - I'm going to have to be very strong arn't I Grin.

american glad new houseguest is behaving himself so well.

Alice was up until 11 pm last night and then up bright and early today and has been moody tired styley all day Angry . She threw her lovingly homemade vegetable and lentil stew all over the carpet at lunch without even tasting it and has been demanding her dvd all day Confused . Oh, apart from when we went to visit my mum and then she behaved perfectly of course Hmm

reastie · 03/05/2012 14:53

ben not ban obv!

MizK · 03/05/2012 15:15

Afternoon ladies.
needto disowning is def the way forward re tantrums I think :)
reastie Poor you dealing with a grumpy baby all day! 11pm is late, I bet you are tired out!
borg How awful for your friend. Sending tons of positive vibes and good wishes and I'm sure the little one will come through OK.
ponyo whoop to A walking, but a big euw to snotty child. I fear that Cass may be that child, I wipe her nose a million times a day but its a neverending stream of grimness.
Needless to say will be thinking of you tomorrow. You'll get through it hon xxxx
four4 It sounds like a soap - maybe Mr W has an evil twin in Yorkshire? Mysterious!
blizy there is something so very wrong with the term 'sex pillow'.... but if it works, it works!
ledkr Hope Ella is OK. At least she feels able to show her feelings about what's going on to you instead of bottling things up. I worried for my older two as their dad had a baby 3 months before we had Cass and i worried that they would feel doubly out of things - like both their parents had new families. But touch wood they have been fine and they love their brother and Cass beyond anything.
Hello to anyone I missed, am enjoying the peace as older two are at after school things til half 4

NeedToSleepZZZ · 03/05/2012 16:13

Well done A, ponyo!
I saw a little girl with thick snot streaming from both nostrils the other day and it turned my stomach and im normally fine with things like that.
I really hope all goes well with the journey tomorrow, shall be thinking of you [hug]

reastieI have just ordered that book on eBay for 99p, brilliant! Sorry A isnt sleeping, it's so horrible isn't it? I feel like a zombie today, getting a sore throat and glands are up and sure it's due to tiredness. OH is doing night duty tonight so will have ^an early night and use ear plugs. How is your carpet? Hope it's not too bad.

mizK hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet, lord knows you deserve it!

Bought something special on DVD yesterday and it's worth its weight in gold tbh, especially when changing nappies, bad mum alert!

blizy · 03/05/2012 17:05

Hi girls

ponyo nice to hear from you. I hope the journey goes to plan tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.

needto Yip I agree with reastie ignore, ignore, ignore!

ledkr How is ella?

Grin at 44me spotting Mr W evil twin!

reastie I hope Alice settles well tonight, how are you feeling today?

Last night I managed to hurt Alfie, I was in the loo and had no idea he had followed me in, I finished and closed the door, but something was stopping it closing so I pushed it harder. I heard a hiss and I had jammed Alfie between the door and the frame! Sad I felt awful, all sick and shakey. Alfie was fine though thankfully, running around mad as usual!

Right I need to get on with my paperwork ( I have a new mindee starting next week, a 2yr old boy 3 days a week, only for 5 weeks though.)

Hope you are all havin a good day.
