Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ledkr · 03/05/2012 18:10

Ah thanks for nice comments and my medal Grin

D had an endless stream of snot last week it was hideous.

ponyo good luck for tomorrow,i hope its as fitting as it can be.

reastie D has been a whiney pants today too.I took her to toddlers and she sat on my lap the whole time.
She just seems to be into everything today,at one point i had all the saucepans,a whole pack of pulled out wet wipes and a floor full of pasta Hmm i was literally running from place to peace stopping her and then she shut me out of the kitchen by leaning against the door so i couldnt push it open.I had a moment of exasperation and just gave up.
Dh is here now though and has taken her for a bath.
ems have afab time at Disney and happy birthday.
needto I saw that thread too, very odd. I posted on a bf thread today about the wording on a ff box saying think about the social implications.
I said that ff was better socially for me as i could go out on the piss and leave her with someone else. Grin

ledkr · 03/05/2012 18:11

blizy she seems ok thanks. Back to her normal cheeky cheery self.
Poor Alfie you cat abuser Grin

reastie · 03/05/2012 18:31

ledkr sounds just like my day - I still have a loo roll all over the bathroom floor where alice does her party piece of pulling it all off from the holder - I've given up rolling it back on as she just pulls it off straight after Confused . Good to know it's not just me.

blizy don't worry about alfie - if it helps my parents have a cat and my mum has accidentally sat on her a few times Grin . Good luck with the new mindee - do you get a bit nervous when you're getting a new mindee like I do when I get a new class to teach?

needto good move with the DVD - ALice has 'In the night garden' on series link on the machine upstairs and a baby sign DVD downstairs both are always ready to go - it's a complete life saver when I'm trying to get ready for work/cook/clean/go to the loo/ mn

ledkr · 03/05/2012 19:17

Sad D wont watch tv.Too busy being a pain.
reastie we use all our toilet roll off the floor or from little rolled up pieces.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 03/05/2012 19:46

yep to the toilet roll issue, we've started putting it on the little shelf thing behind the loo. Works for now but I'm not holding my breath. I am yet to encounter the floor of pasta, I'm a tidy freak at the best of times so dreading that!

ledkr just stalked you read your comment on the feeding thread... Grin Grin Grin

reastie I hate Mr Tumble but have to admit he is a bit of a life saver, well him and Countdown Confused. I too never thought I would use the television like this

blizy you poor thing, you're probably more traumatised than Alfie! He'll be fine! Good news about the new mindee, hope he turns out to be a good 'un Grin

wigglesrock · 03/05/2012 19:50

Anna won't watch tv either [sob], I literally long for the day she perks up at Justin. We hide our toilet roll or put it on a high shelf Blush

Four4Me Grin at Mr Ws doppelganger! When I first met him he looked like Danny from the Voice [sigh] minus the dodgy denim on denim look. I thought maybe I was remembering the flush of first lust love through rose tinted glasses but my sister said last week "Do you remember when Mr W looked like him?" Grin

NeedTo I ignore tantrums or tuck offending child under my arm and stroll out of shop/zoo/park/swimming pool/bank giving everyone an evil "c'mon you try and speak to her if you think you're hard enough" look Grin and no she's not feckin' tired, she's feckin' bold - and breathe - rant over Grin

ponyo will be thinking of you tomorrow sweetheart xx

emski if you're having a nosy, Happy Birthday and hope you are all having a brilliant time.

blizy oops Grin

ledkr · 03/05/2012 20:09

so do i wiggs,i literally force her to no avail.

Why thankyou maam.

I have been forced out of my own loung by dh and dd watching "Giant snakes" on tv yaaaawn. Whats wrong with abit of junk tv eh??

ILovePonyo · 03/05/2012 21:11

reastie good luck for monday. We have an extra 45 mins for traffic but I'm still stressing - how annoying but its kind of keeping my mind off the actual funeral iykwim. Hope A is asleep for you a lot earlier tonight (ie, now!) and sleeps well. A loves in the night garden too, so do I as it keeps her going til bedtime :)

blizy aww Alfie cat, don't worry me and dp have trod on our cats/squished them in the door/pulled their tails by mistake loads of times Grin Just you wait until a year or so and you have your baby wanting to 'hug' him poor cat! A now rests her head on our cats to hug them, you can tell they hate it but fair play to them for putting up with it :)

MizK ooh I saw a baby at soft play that looked like Cass, don't worry it wasn't the horrible snotty one! See it was a 4ish yr old girl that was snotty, babies are ok to be snotty espesh if you're wiping it away.

Needto I didn't know what the dvd was that you mentioned so I googled it, aha now I get the mr tumble references! We said we wouldn't have the tv on loads for A but, oh well, could be worse eh Grin

ledkr I;m sky+ing that snakes programme Grin Hope D is ok tomoz. Reassuring to know its not just A who behaves like this phew A loves toilet roll too Hmm

wigs "shes feckin bold" think I'll remember that one for the future as I know I'll need it - its fab :)

Thanks all for kind thought for tomorrow, god knows I'll need it, you are all very lovely :) xxx

WeAreBorg · 03/05/2012 21:23

Evening all,

Just a bit shell shocked at the moment. Have just found out that one of my friends baby (13 months) has a hole in his heart, and will be having open heart surgery next week. Their GP found in whilst checking for a chest infection. Thankfully they think once the surgery is done, all should be well but it's so scary to have 2 friends with poorly babies at the moment. Am cuddling N like mad these days. Thanks for all your kind words re other friends baby.

ponyo good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you xx

Yuk to snotty stories, agree absolutely vile on an older child but par for the course for babies.

N isn't bothered by TV either, except the Big Bang theory theme tune which he dances to. I took him to a friends house yesterday and he had pulled every single DVD off their shelf, must have been hundreds of them. He does the loo roll unravelling/ripping up too, constantly tries to flush the loo whilst I'm on it, gets in the shower whilst I'm in it. He's also started drawing on furniture and walls. No full on tantrums yet though needto!

ledkr · 03/05/2012 21:37

borg My neice has had that (she has downs) she was so well after the op that they let her home early cos she was being difficult Grin Hope baby is ok.
I had a shock yesterday. My dil who i am very close to,found out that her Auntie has advanced cancer in Liver and bones,so not good.I am so sad for them all,she has kids in there early 20's and they were just starting to enjoy their retirement. I cant stop thinking about it.
I am in bed now,so tired.I still look forward to the weekend even though its never any different to the week these days.

pssst wiggles Dh passed his sgt exams.

debka · 03/05/2012 21:38

Bloody hell borgy how awful :(

ponyo I'll be thinking of you tomorrow

wiggs and ledkr S didn't use to watch tv but she watched Big Barn Farm for 5 minutes today, was heaven Grin

Hope A is in bed already reastie, how the heck you are coping is beyond me, I don't like to see mine after 7pm Grin

Had a glorious day today, my aunt had the girls and I went to the cinema on my own and saw The Help which I sobbed through, was bloody marvellous. Gave blood in the afternoon which was a lie down so also a plus! DH went away today for 5 days so it's just me and the girlies, we've got lots planned, I'm excited!

americanexpat · 03/05/2012 21:41

Christ, Borg, your friends are having a rough time of it. Sad Those poor wee babies. Will be thinking of both of them.

Ponyo - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Fingers crossed for no traffic.

ledkr - L won't watch telly either. He'll watch about 30 seconds of something then move on. He does like to go behind the TV stand and pull all the interesting cords. Hmm Cords doesn't sound right, are they called something different here. [desperate to blend in]

blizy - poor Alfie but don't worry about it. Our cats get accidentally stepped on or kicked sometimes, it happens.

Right, I'm supposed to be on the book club thread but Jeffrey Eugenides seems to have done a runner... Hmm

blizy · 03/05/2012 21:48

OMG borg, how horrible! I will be sending get well vibes to both babies. Hope you are ok?

I have a 7 yr old mindee who regluarly comes out school with a bright green number 11 dangling from her nose, I am always armed with tissues!

ledkr Im watching the giant snakes on plus 1.

ponyo good luck for tomorrow, I'm sure it will be a very fitting tribute to your Dad. I shall be thinking of you and holding your hand from afar [hugs].x

wiggles I'm off to google this Danny guy Grin.

reastie Yes I get very nervous about new mindees, more so about dealing with the parents (they cause the most problems). Tomorrow will be a settling in session and he will be starting next week, a bit short notice for me eeek! He is DH and I's best friends nephew, so shouldn't be too bad. [hopefull emoticon].

Shock at your poor cats being sat/stood on Grin.

Alfie has a habit of climbing up legs and back to sit on my shoulder, it bloody hurts especially when we takes a running jump! My dad thought I was self harming with all the scratches on my arms and back of hands Shock.

Big waves to any one I have missed! Grin

Grannyapple · 03/05/2012 21:59

Hello ladies....feel like I haven't been on for ages...busy at work...been in all week & next day off is next fri...feels strange being in full time this week....house is a midden & sis is down for the w/e tomorrow night...need to get washing done & place looking a bit presentable...Hmm

reastie sorry to hear about granny....tis hard even tho you knew it was coming....again lots of hugs to you & good luck for the funeral

ledkr Ella is soo lucky to have such a well grounded mum....Ella is going to be an amazing young lady by the sounds of things..

wiggs that's exactly how I intend to deal with N's tantrums Grin

Hello blizy 44me debka borg et all

N has finally started walking...yay! About fecking time....he weighs a ton Grin. Looking forward to plonking N on sis when she's down...booked her in for babysitting in sun night so dh & I can nip out to pub quiz with some nct friends Smile

Just back from running club, so off for a shower...hope everyone has lots of sleeping babies tonight x

tadjennyp · 03/05/2012 23:41

So sorry Borg for your friends' little ones. Horrible news for you.

Hope Ella is feeling better now, ledkr. It's a lot of change for her to take in.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Ponyo.

Yay to Nate walking granny!

Good luck with the new mindee blizy. I'm sure you're more shaken than Alfie is!

Sammy likes to take the cereal boxes out of the cupboard and take the cereal out and spread it around!

American -we were v lucky as dh's company was v generous and gave us a big relocation package as obviously you have to replace all electric stuff. That is taxable though. We shared a container with two other families and had a third each. Will ask dh who did the shipping. We packed it all ourselves to save money. Is Madison an expensive place to live?

Have plonked the dcs in front of a movie after their art class and S is sitting inbetween with his milk. V cute!

For anyone not on FB, I have linked to my wedding photo's if you fancy a nosey.

ponyo thoughts are with you today. xx

Four4me · 04/05/2012 09:50

ponyo thinking of you x

borg so awful about both of you friends babies. Big hugs to all. X

Grannyapple · 04/05/2012 10:11

blizy link doesn't work for me Angry

americanexpat · 04/05/2012 10:23

Ponyo - I'm thinking of you today. I hope it's a happy celebration of your dad's life.

blizy - I had a nosey at your photos last night and had something in my eye when I saw Zoe's bear. My previous cat, when she was a tiny kitten, used to climb up my clothes when I was brushing my teeth and peek over my shoulder. Grin Kittens are amazing.

Granny - well done to N on walking! I always make L hold my hand when he's walking outside and now he automatically reaches up for it. [awww emoticon]

tad - I don't think Madison is expensive overall but it's a university town with a huge student population so any area close to campus will be expensive. DH gets a free bus pass through work (I think I'm more excited about it than he is Grin) but he's picky about changing buses, etc. Rent near campus will be around $1200pcm.

wiggles - Grin at your tantrum strategy.

Four4me · 04/05/2012 10:30

blizy you look so pretty and happy on your wedding day Smile x

granny try that?

american Thank you Smile. Oh yes Alfie does that too, I can't seem to walk 5 ft away without him jumping onto my shoulder!

Just waiting on new mindee coming, should be here at 11am eek!

WeAreBorg · 04/05/2012 10:37

Thanks for all your kind thoughts for my 2 friends. I feel a bit weird and guilty that N is so healthy if that makes sense. Obviously I want him to be healthy!

ledkr oh no, that's dreadful news, hope you and your family are okay. That's reassuring re your niece. I think everyone is confident that the hole will be fixed and he shouldn't have any more problems.

blizy I can't see your photos, I want to see them! Good luck for your new mindees.

tad Aw Sam sounds so cute sitting in the middle. N also spreads cereal over the floor, today though he painstakingly put all the shreddies back in the box, then did a bit of sweeping just to be sure.

granny yay to Nate! Hope your back gets a rest now.

american I should pay attention to the rest of MN, I like Jeffrey Euginedes, well I loved Middlesex but haven't read his others. I keep picking up the Virgin Suicides then deciding it's too short to buy. Is the new one meant to be any good?

Trying to decide whether to cut Ns hair, it's straggly and wispy about his ears. He looks like Gollum.

WeAreBorg · 04/05/2012 10:41

blizy gorgeous photos, you look so lovely and happy, everyone looks like they're having a ball

WeAreBorg · 04/05/2012 10:43

american meant to ask, who are these houseguests? And when are you going to the US? We must try and sort this Scottish meet up then??

Four4me · 04/05/2012 11:37

How awful for your dil's family ledkr . Meant to ask how did you go with the dla form?
