ledkr · 29/04/2012 22:13

omg-I hate that expression. Cant get over Brody being the bomber.what the hell am i going to do until next week eh?

deb You can be far off that now love. I have been using mfp to log my food its great I cant even tolerate carbs anymore,i sneaked a few spuds onto the plate today and felt stuffed after one ShockAm eating grains though so kind of carby.

americanexpat · 30/04/2012 09:34

blizy - Good luck with the GP. S/he's a tosser if s/he makes you feel ashamed about your weight. I used to spot for 4 days when we were TTC, actually started spotting the month I got pregnant and thought we were out. I think it can indicate problems with your progesterone levels? I found Taking Charge of Your Fertility and charting really helpful - and it made me feel like I was doing something. Grin

Robin - a friend on Facebook was asking for baby shower game suggestions, I nearly suggested wine from baby bottles. Grin

wiggles - I've been trying to get L to say "I love you" too. Grin He'll repeat tones back so I've been "singing" it but he can't quite manage it. He does repeat "Gotcha!" as "dah-daaaa!" I've also been blowing kisses at him and he mashes his hand into his face and says "maaaah!" Grin

I've been spending far too much time on the Style and Beauty board. I'm attempting a home acid peel Shock and after the first one, my skin feels so much softer. Still looks crap but it's a soft crap. Grin

WeAreBorg · 30/04/2012 11:18

american Grin at your successful peel

wiggles and ledkr Homeland eh? Shock Gutted there's only one left, what will I watch now?

wiggles N will be queuing up for the trampoline, he is obsessed with them, he's making do with beds at the moment.
Actually just remembered I'm not speaking to you re Mark Ruffalo.

debka hope S is feeling better. I loved the first Tremors, and I see no reason why the 4th one shouldn't be just as good Smile

Aw, finding the babies efforts to chat and sign really sweet. Nate and I tried signing but failed mainly because I can't remember any of them. He could be signing expertly for all I know.

MizK · 30/04/2012 12:23

ledkr wiggles and borg another Homeland addict here. (Despite Brody's small pursed mouth which I find difficult to get past....) Poor Carrie.
american wow a peel? I always think of Samantha on Sex and The City when she ended up with a face like raw liver so it scares me off!
Big waves all round. also loving the talking/signing stories, they are so adorbs at this age. Cass is not so adorbs today, was on the phone sorting out boring insurance matter so she took the opportunity to empty a concertina file full of various paperwork and thoroughly mix it all together. Am faced with having to sort it all back out, grrrr!

Emski76 · 30/04/2012 12:29

Hi all
Firstly, The New Kids rock!! Oh yes they do!! We had a fab time at the concert on Friday. Reastie, if they tour the UK again you can def come along with me. My friends saw them three times last week and paid to meet them once!

Bad, bad night with Noah last night. He was crying around 11pm so I gave him some Nurofen then cuddled him for half hour, put him in his cot and was up and down like a yoyo until 4am!!! We tried him sleeping in our bed and in Ben's bed with me, as Ben sleeps at inlaws Sunday nights. Noah would settle for a while then start chatting and poking me! Eventually after crying hystarically at 4am, icuddled up with him in Ben's bed and fnirmly told him to go to sleep, and it worked! We slept until 8, so made me late for work. Am absolutely exhausted today and hoping we don;t get a repeat performance ever again!!

Am off to read what I have missed over the weekend and will be back later

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2012 13:11

Hi all! MN is pissing me off keep going offline Angry sort it aht HQ!

Emski, sorry you had a bad night with N. hope you have a better one tonight!

American, I love the Style and Beauty threads but they make you spend money. I'm currently trying out coconut oil for my hair as everyone on S&B raves about it. I, well...I haven't noticed the difference yet!

Blizy, hope you go on ok at the docs.

I'm arguing on another thread with someone who has said that Holly Willobooby was fat! Fat FFS! Angry people are honestly such dicks at times!

americanexpat · 30/04/2012 13:27

Robin - Yes, S&B is expensive! I did switch to oil cleansing method which has been fab. I'm also hooked on Glossyboxes, like I need more little bottles of lotions and potions. Hmm They did tip me off on buying clothes from eBay so I'm probably ahead financially!

Emski - Poor Noah, I hope you don't have a repeat tonight. Pre-emptive calpol before bed?

MizK - Some of the others on the acid thread are really hardcore. Shock I did 1 minute and it burned like hell, will work up to 2 minutes this week. My skin was a bit pink but back to normal by the next morning (did it before bed). I have rubbish skin though so the burnt look might be an improvement! Here's the first thread and the latest one.

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2012 13:30

I switched to OCM too American and it did work but it was too much of a faff and kept making my hair greasy. I'm just using Simple cleanser now, which does the job I'm just lazy!

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2012 13:45

MizK, I hope it doesn't take too long for you to sort out your papers! I did my ironing while L was having a nap. I heard her shouting so put the iron away and got her up, gave her her lunch and then put her on the floor in the living room while I nipped to the loo, my neat piles of ironing on the sofa. When I got back it was all on the floor in a crumpled heap! It's my own fault, I should have taken her with me but I didn't think that a pile of washing would be that exciting to play in! Hmm

reastie · 30/04/2012 14:47

borg I don't really teach any signs to Alice - she just watches a signing dvd all day long every now and again. She actually now does the signs when watching the dvd before they come on as she's seen it so much she knows what's coming Hmm

STOP ALL THIS HOMELAND TALK. DH and I are watching it tonight - I am slightly obsessive about not knowing what happens before I watch something. I' have tried to skip all comments so far on it, please keep quiet now until tomorrow Grin

ems I will defo come with you if you go to a London show. After your message I looked up to see if there were spare tickets for me to go to 02 to see them at week end but all that was left were the seats at the back and I am fussy and wanted a better view Grin . Hope Noah sleeps better tonight

american please link or tell us how to do this peel thing

Had a friend and her dd over to lunch today. I am in Shock that it seems alice eats at least DOUBLE what this 20 month old eats - she's [alice] alot smaller and not really any fatter than DFs DD. Actually, I am Shock in general how much Alice eats at the minute - yesterday she had 2 weetabix and a banana for breakfast and was still signing for more! She eats 3 well sized meals a day plus 2 milk feeds, 2 good sized snacks and sometimes rice cakes in between meals on top of that Shock . I realise now I've said this alice will probably become the worlds fussiest eater and refuse to eat anything for the next 3 years and I'll wonder why I worried Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/04/2012 15:07

Hello all,

Am a bit Shock at all the s&b stuff, I am lazy barely remember to paint my toenails now and since I've discovered the mn haircut I never go to the hairdressers. I have just bought a skirt that was way too much money but it is lovely and food is for wimps right? Wink

B has a temp, not sure what's wrong with him as no other obvious symptoms so am putting it down to teething at the moment. He has 12 teeth fgs, when will this stop???

I love all the babies talking and signing, it's brilliant! reastie B doesn't sign television, he just stands right next to it and points to the remote Blush. He says mumma, dadda, nanna and now 'ewo (hello) daisy' to any animal within a 2 mile radius (one of my dm's cats is daisy) Grin

wiggles my dm is very competitive too and keeps buying stuff for B, luckily she doesn't have space for a trampoline as I know she'd get one!

Argh, B has awoken, bang goes the post. Will catch up again later fingers crossed Smile

americanexpat · 30/04/2012 15:25

reastie - the links are in my last post to MizK (can't be arsed to repost them). I got my salicylic acid from foreveryoung on eBay. L eats massive amounts sometimes too and sometimes survives solely on raisins. I think it's a sign they're growing. L also wakes earlier than usual because he's hungry, he had 2 breakfasts plus milk before nursery this morning. Shock

Robin - L is the same way, any laundry baskets left unattended will be emptied as quickly as possible.

reastie · 30/04/2012 15:31

Sorry american, have been skipping a few bits in posts for fear of uncovering some homeland goss so haven't read everything properly Blush

americanexpat · 30/04/2012 15:57

No bother, reastie. I'm just too lazy busy at work to redo the links. Grin

tadjennyp · 30/04/2012 18:02

Hello, have read the thread but can't remember anything useful, sorry. Boo to AF, blizy. Good luck with GP. Hope B gets better soon, needto. I haven't watched Homeland as I don't have cable. Should I get it out on DVD when it comes out? And wiggles, I have a slight crush on Eddie Redmayne at the moment (watched Birdsong last night, blimey that was depressing). Is this allowed, or should I get a ticket like in the deli queue? Wink Grin Sammy loves climbing in my laundry basket and chucking everything out for me. Smile

Hope you are all having good tea/bath/bed times!

ledkr · 30/04/2012 20:35

Grin at Brody's pursed mouth mizk I dont find him attractive one bit but im weird with crushes,i used to fancy Robbie Coltrane in Cracker Hmm

How was Drs Blizy? A lady at work announced her pg today after numerous mc and ivf just shows you.

tad yes get it,its been amazing.

reastie Alice does have a healthy appetite doesnt she?Dills is abit hit and miss but today she ate a whole cow and gate stinky fish meal and was licking the bowl, then a yogurt and an ice cream cone.

emshope you have an improved night.

My claim to genious baby of the day is that she puts her hand over her mouth to cough Grin

I have stinky wind a la borgy I have no idea what has caused it,i had porridge then a veg pot and yogurt and salmon and cous cous for tea,i literally am going to take off sooon and fly around the room.

wigglesrock · 30/04/2012 20:45

tadjennyp I thought Birdsong was very sad as well, I don't remember the book being as depressing. I was talking to my Dad about it when it was on tv, this is the one book in the world we have both read Grin He doesn't read for pleasure Grin and he thought it was because the tv adaptation was chronological whereas the book jumped about a bit and didn't seem as sad. Of course I have just realised that this will make no sense if you haven't read the book Grin But hmmm not sure how I feel about you mooning over Eddie Redmayne - I look at him and I think meh he looks like a lot of people I went to school with - 'tis the ginger hair, pale skin, watery eyes and freckles - 10 a penny here Grin

NeedToSleep I have to repaint my toe nails and its such a chore Grin Although I am heading to hairdressers this week to be debadgered - again Shock. Its my nieces christening at the weekend so I'll have to make an effort!

americanexpat ach look at you convincing yourself that by spending money on E Bay you are actually saving money in the long run Grin That's my kind of reasoning Grin

emski hope you are hanging' tough with Noah - [nudge] see what I did there Grin

RobinSparkles · 30/04/2012 20:56

Wiggles that's terrible!

reastie · 30/04/2012 21:36

I watched birdsong but couldn't get past the fact that I know someone who looks exactly like the love interest lady in it. It kept putting me off concentrating on the story Grin

Right, I've now watched homeland - cripes, what a shocker, can't wait till next week now. tad defo get it

wiggles you are hilarious with you hangin' tough references - your brain definitely has the right stuff (see what I did there Wink )

I go to style and beauty to get great advice but tbh I am really lax with things like painting nails etc. I don't even pluck my eyebrows as I can't be bothered to upkeep it Shock

debka · 30/04/2012 21:39

tadj I liked the book of Birdsong but I just couldn't get past his lips in the tv adaptation, my dad said he couldn't stop worrying about the leading lady's moles Grin

blizy how did you get on?

reastie Beany eats about the same as Alice, that is, about twice what Imogen eats. I really don't get it. Confused

ledkr clever Dills :)

expat an acid peel sounds utterly terrifying, you're a braver woman than I am!

Girls a lot better today, I'm just praying I don't get it, I'm giving blood on Thursday after cancelling twice ok cancelling once and forgetting to go once Blush and if I have a cold they won't want my blood.

debka · 30/04/2012 21:50

x post reastie you're meant to pluck them??? Shock

wigglesrock · 30/04/2012 22:00

debka I think my dad couldn't help looking at the leading ladys' moles for completely different reasons Grin He has a soft spot for French woman at the best of times Shock

Last time I had my eyebrows done , the beautician said to me "God you've got quite a lot of eyebrow there" - don't think it was a compliment Grin

Right, night night, MN keep breaking on me so I'm giving up.

tadjennyp · 30/04/2012 22:32

I can't remember seeing a bloke with red hair and pale skin over here in four years - perhaps that's what it is, wiggles! being 10 years younger than me and v posh is nothing to do with it! I think the bloke dying in the tunnel at the end whose son had died finished me off.

Will look out for Homeland. Right, Sammy has finished his nap, got to go!

debka · 01/05/2012 06:42

x post reastie you're meant to pluck them??? Shock

Four4me · 01/05/2012 07:41

Mega quick post, came on last night read all new thread about to post and it went offline. Grrrr

Good luck blizy today, will be thinking of you. Back later have Thomas at Paediatrician this morning. Hi all. X
