Happy Birthday Air hope you've had a great day.
I've been quite busy, but still managed to get LO to have 4 x 20 min naps today.
I've made the Order of Service cards for grandad's funeral, picked up dry cleaning, bought ant killer for our lounge invaders, bought tights for t'wedding and been food shopping. Oh and booked myself on a weaning party/talk on Monday morning.
Now I need to finish this feed and tidy up this place for a stress free Friday evening!
Have a great weekend all!

First two full days at nursery/back at work in a row completed successfully. Get me a beer!!!

KateM77 · 13/04/2012 19:08

mopsy enjoy your well-deserved beer. I'd second DSM on the Maclaren for a good buggy to use in all situations. I also don't like the Phil & teds type double thing where one baby seems to be in the luggage compartment Geeandtee I've gone for a Graco Stadium Duo for my double. It's massive but does what I need it to do, not least of which being you can click the little one's car seat in it.

Air happy birthday, hope it's been a good day so far

Welcome back tyel and sorelip. No D&V here. I'm sure you know this but main concern is dehydration, so you need to watch for that and can get sachets if necessary.

Tried potty training DD today. Got to lunchtime and had a score of pants 5 potty 0. Chucked nappies on her for the rest of the day while I washed the pants and trousers. Will try again tomorrow but may just leave it until she's a bit older if no improvement. She then decided to eat a crayon this evening Confused. I'm not looking forward to the blue poo which will undoubtedly follow!

GeeandTee · 13/04/2012 19:34

That's it Kate, Graco Stadium Duo is what I have.

That was such bad grammar, sorry!

Loola Up has adjustable height handles and 6ft 3 DH is comfortable with it.

Welcome back sorelip!

Rashkakeller · 13/04/2012 20:00

We have a P&T sport which is borrowed, I've never used the 'luggage compartment' for ds because it's so low to the floor. However, it has great maneuver-bility (!) and is easier to handle than my Graco Mosaic. Having said that, when I use the P&T, dd perches on the front which makes it hard to steer straight so it's all a bit moot! Plus the proper luggage compartment bit is small. So to conclude (oh please conclude...) I wouldnt recommend Phil and Teds unless it's a freebie lend from a mate and you're too tight to buy your own like me

Ds has been a poorly chap today. Gunky eyes, streaming snot and hard bogies, red cheeks, sorrowful expression - you get the picture :(

msbuggywinkle · 13/04/2012 20:16

Beer here too...feeling much more mellow now...thought you lot would appreciate this

LittleMissFlustered · 13/04/2012 20:21

My son's world has ended. He came home and the telly was gone. Inconsolable four year old is a funny sight when you're evil like me. He has begrudgingly conceded that he can just about live without one until mummy gets a new one at some point.

YBR · 13/04/2012 20:23

Here's one to snigger at: BabyYBR needed a dose of Calpol this evening so DH loaded a syringe while I held her ... He fired it into her mouth like a water pistol Shock ! Naturally it all came straight out again and all her white clothes have pink patches.
Whatever was DH thinking?

AnAirOfHope · 13/04/2012 20:39

Hadock for husband pls.

I told him last week what i wanted for my 30th. Today i got a card off kids and a card off him. That.is.all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No cake, candlrs bollons or gift.

Im cuttently in bed sulking. Is a cake too much to want, on my biryhday really?

seven77 · 13/04/2012 20:42

LMF glad I'm not the only evil one that finds upset children funny. I know I shouldnt but when DS starts having a paddy I find it really hard not to laugh.

msb glad you're feeling better, beer always helps.

Hi sorelip. Eva had a bit of dihorrea again today, as for sickness it's hard to tell as she's sick all the bloody time quite a lot anyway.

mopsy I have a phil and teds explorer and I love it, especially as it converts from a single into a double, great as I found when I tried to get rid of my old one pushchairs really lose their value, I wish I'd gone for one the first time. If you want to go off road 3 wheels are definitely better than 4. I know you're not bothered about boot space but to get some idea of the size it fits in the boot of a fiesta. Eva's now outgrown the carrycot bit but she's not bothered about being in the 'luggage compartment', she loves being upright and looking around. The handle adjusts well but my only criticism is the price, nearly all of the shops in my local town are small though and aren't really big enough for a side by side double. My friend had one that she had to return and replaced it with an expensive one because it was too big for her to go in the butchers, her new one is 2cm narrower Hmm

Sorry that was a bit of an essay!

aethelfleda · 13/04/2012 21:08

Hiya sorelip, good to see you!

mopsy, I owned a Maclaren Techno XT with DD1, bought a phil n teds for DD2 (23 month age gap) and am now back to a Maclaren Techno XT for DS (as I was so impressed with my first one). Comments:

The maclaren Techno XT is suitable from birth, it has height adjusting handles, I'm five foot 8 but like the "high" setting, my friend is 6 foot and says that it's confortable to push. The cheaper Maclarens (Volo, quest) do NOT have height adjustable handles.
It goes well on pavement woods paths, light mud, shingle, towpaths, less well on soft sand/heavy squelchy mud/deep snow.
The under-buggy storage is the only downer: it's pants. However the maneuverability and life of the buggy are hard to beat. It has a
decent raincover, and a pocket for this (no sunshade but a universal factor 50+ "Snoozeshade" cover is less than £20 and fits it well).
When we bought the P&T i kept the maclaren in the car for when we wanted a single buggy just for DD2 (or took DD2 in the baby sling and DD1 in the buggy). So a single is still useful after you've had DC2.

The phil and ted was great for the two of them, but as DD1 got older she didn't need it, it's IMHO too bulky to be worth it for a single baby. Totally up to you, but is it worth two years of carting around a larger, heavier buggy than you need, that won't store well in your house, when you could have a single light smallish stroller that umbrella folds and tucks into your car boot/stairs cupboard, and then upgrade?

And this last thingy is a low blow but worth a consider: if you got a P&T specifically for that second baby and then (God forbid) there was a problem conceiving/carrying the beeb,, would it affect how you felt about having that buggy? Probably not but there are some people to whom that sort of thing makes a difference...If you feel it's the right buggy for you then go for it, I was v happy with our P&T, but flogged it and went back to Maclaren for DS because I felt it works better for a single child.

BeeMyBaby · 13/04/2012 21:23

air I've learnt that the best thing to do it to bake your own cake and refuse to share it and buy your own gift and get the money back off them.

mopsy if you have a 2nd child I really recommend the out and about double as its great off road/on sand etc and really easy to push. If you ever look into the silvercross surf stay away!!! be aware that all terrain does not include mud/sand/anything other than pavement.

DD2 seems to be feeding virtually constantly overnight, most of the time as soon as she unlatches she wakes up so I really am a human dummy. Can't wait (ugh two more months) till weaning, hoping she just stuffs food into her mouth and I can get a proper nights sleep.

OiMissus · 13/04/2012 21:36

air have you consulted a solicitor? Tis your 30th! Surely he's holding back a surprise? Or are you already at your surprise party? Hope so.
If not I am sending virtual fabulous presents and cake, and the whole of this thread has just jumped out from behind your sofa with party poppers! Hurrah! X

MissRee · 13/04/2012 22:20

Surely he's got a surprise in store for you Air?!?! Confused If not then I'm sending him the biggest, smelliest haddock!!!

LittleMissFlustered · 13/04/2012 22:34

If he hasn't got something planned, that perhaps the postal service has to answer for due to bank holibobs, then I'm breaking out the swordfish. It should be good and smelly by now too!

seven77 · 13/04/2012 23:21

Order it online on his credit card

GeeandTee · 14/04/2012 03:54

No-one up tonight? Or just no-one posting?!

Figgygal · 14/04/2012 04:25

[I'm here ........again. Angry

7 weeks he has slept right thru now 3 wake ups this week. Sleep regression, hunger or something else who knows!!

LittleMissFlustered · 14/04/2012 04:45

Been here, just having trouble seeing my phone. Need sleep! eyes resting >_

neverenoughsleeportea · 14/04/2012 04:59

Checking in too.

Poor figgy what a shock to the system after 7 weeks. F has slept for 7 hours quite a few times but only three of those were between 12 and 7. the rest were between 8 and 3 so still didn't get any more sleep. Not sure if the 11 dream feed works or not. Still we managed 11.30 to 4.45 ish so that is a little better.

He isn't hungry, he's clean, he's dry, he hasn't got wind either but he's still woken me up every hour all night. I might possibly be losing the plot right now >_
