Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yeah...this waking four times a night thingy is doing me no good either. Down at half seven, and then he got woken to have a feed and come in bed with me at half ten (although think I'll just get into the habit of expressing so he can continue to sleep- problem is some nights he wakes at that time, some nights he doesn't) and then we went through til two, but then I saw the numbers 3, 5 and 6 on the clock too Sad.

Hello Tyel- can't wait to read your 'what I've done on my holidays' essay, that sounds brilliant! I think the cultural differences between us and the States are that bit more fascinating as we don't expect them, owing to the shared lanugage/culture/etc.

And DS has serious jowls too- when he's in his car seat they rest on the shoulder straps!

Y'know MissRee, that's exactly what we think- whether it's chuckles or screams, it must be about the great booby/bottle in the sky... Grin

And a new phrase has been created, 'mumming up'- brilliant figgy! Glad your DH is getting there- it's all about confidence. I know how terrified I felt the first few times I took DS out, and how proud I felt about getting to the Post Office. Our DPs are in the same boat, but of course they could delegate it all to us, whereas we had to just get on with it as we're at home with the LOs all day!
Hope DS is OK, hearing poosplosions over the monitor is something else, blimey.

Re. mucus, DS has had a few nappies like that. And (TMI!!) don't know if anyone else has, but I've done the mucus sick thing... I'm very rarely sick, but about eight years ago, with a heavy cold, I ended up just vomiting up mucus. Vile....

I think about her too AWCH, and I'd love to know how they're getting on.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY air! All you should do on your birthday, especially a 'big' one, is be pampered in the manner of your choosing!

Today is the first day of swapping two of our 10 or so feeds for bottle, so off to make those up, and then cleaning the bathroom...

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 09:58

Seven, yes I use saline drops a couple of times a day.

Tyel welcome back!

Happy birthday Air! Eat cake, eat cake. Lots of it!

DSM me thinks it might be time to hie thee down to the chemist for a pregnancy test ... oooh exciting!

Sorry for all with crap nights. Minimopsy actually was a bit better last night, I only had to get up about 5 times. This is a major improvement on every half hour! She is in nursery again and I am at the library, better stop looking up mumsnet and get cracking on my chapter! hope you all have a lovely day. It's Friday yippeee! I have to actually work tomorrow, while my husband minds minim, but that is okay as it is nice for them to get some time alone without me! and we are having skinny fries for dinner tomorrow with homemade chicken kiev. Is it sad to get so excited about what is essentially junk food, although homemade? If it is, then I am a saddo as I looooovee skinny fries!

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 10:00

p.s. jowls ROCK they are the cutest ever! Minim doesn't have them so much (although cute little roundy cheeks) but her 8 weeks younger cousin does, cute cute cute!

Good luck with the bathroom Northern, I know how much you hate it! My least fave is hoovering, bathrooms I quite like. It's nice to get them all sparkly white again. Weirdly, when it was the horrible old avocado suite I hated cleaning it!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 10:14

I Love cleaning my bathroom - I go around with the flash everyday.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 10:19

Just poas - waiting for result

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 10:20

not pregnant according to CB digital

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 10:37

Hope you're not too disappointed DSM, you weren't actively trying, were you? it will be nice to not be pregnant at the wedding, you can enjoy a few glasses of bubbly and won't need to have your dress altered!

Figgygal · 13/04/2012 10:38

Man up just didnt seem right for the job somehow Grin

Bathrooms grr that's my job for the weekend.

Tonight is Los 1stnight in his cot bed without being in the Moses basket so getting it cleaned up to return to Sil. Hes been in his own room about a month and sleeps just in cot in day so shouldn't phase him. I'm also officially retiring the carry cot on his pushchair he will now be a forward facing big boy which makes me a bit Sad.

Crossing my fingers for a 2nd hand spare pushchair I'm bidding on eBay and ends tonight. It's a hauck there are what looks like same model on mothercare website for £200 and my current bid is £20 pick up in the next village. Just want a cheap 1 for airport runs when home to Scotland 5/6 times a year but some cheap 1s look dangerous they so pitiful.

Happy birthday Air!!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 10:44

Mopsy No not disappointed - not planning to actively try until after the wedding. As I wanted to be pregnancy free at my wedding. Although I know my dress still looks good as I brought it when I was 7mths pregnant Grin

Figgy Loving the 'mum up' phrase - will be using that in this household Grin

Won't be long until Sky is due to go into her cot as she is starting to outgrow her Moses Basket. ho hum knew this day would come soon!

LittleMissFlustered · 13/04/2012 11:16

My chunkster tested out the chair feature on his pram (zezu) yesterday and screamed all the time we were out. It has been changed back >_<

Mumming up is an instant classic, well done:o

Today I'm taking our telly back to tesco as it's not working properly. Fun!

Happy birthday Air

NorthernChinchilla · 13/04/2012 11:16

Glad it seems to be settling for you and minim mopsy. Sounds like she's enjoying it, and you sound brighter, although is that because your OH has her today?

The shower is now done, which is actually the worse job, as there are so many angles, walls, nooks and crannies, etc, and bits need bleaching.
Having knackered too many clothes and bathmats with said bleach, I now do it in my undies and Marigolds having cleared the decks bigtime! Apologies for that mental image... Grin
Hoovering I hate too, so I give it to DP to do which means that it never gets bloody done.

If you're very regular, and still not seen AF, it may be worth doing another in a few days DSM, just in case. But glad you're not too disappointed, and you've got all that fun to come, as well as the wedding!

We're starting to retire stuff too figgy, where the hell did the time go?

msbuggywinkle · 13/04/2012 11:45

Slightly more awake now!

Welcome back tyel jet lagged baby does not sound fun!

air happy birthday! Hope you have lots of cake!

DD1 is ill, we are having a duvet day. Just going to make pasta with cheese sauce and broccoli, her favourite to cheer her up.

seven77 · 13/04/2012 12:07

dsm as northern suggested do another in a few days. I used a asda own brand test with Eva, it was such a faint positive I done a CB digital just to check, which said negative Hmm

Happy birthday air.

Will post more later when I don't have children whinging at me!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 12:22

Will do. Still no AF - not even the feeling its coming anymore.

Darcie has taken herself to bed as feeling tired and twisted her ankle. I'm catching up on Grey's Anatomy with a Brew & slice of cake.

GeeandTee · 13/04/2012 13:52

We got rid of moses basket 3 months ago! DD now takes up nearly 3/4 of her cot (not cotbed). I have about 20 mins while both DS and DD are asleep upstairs so am drinking coffee and eating kitkat chunky :)

I really want to lose weight for the summer and fit in my old clothes but have zero willpower and have already eaten most of DS's easter chocolate Blush

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 14:28

No Northern, she's at nursery today and my husband is minding her tomorrow. I feel happier the more I leave her there, as they are really nice and she seems happy to be there. She is so small that I am not sure she really notices but she does snuggle into me when I pick her up which is nice.

GeeandTee ugh don't talk to me about willpower. I have zero also. Nightmare. Sister's wedding in 2 weeks and I am still a size bigger than I want to be. SIGH. my lovely double chin will feature in all the wedding pics, yahoo! Ah well, it's her day at least, not mine, what I look like is largely irrelevant I suppose!

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 14:47

Right (I AM working on my chapter, honest! But I need a break from the figures now and again ...) ... I need to buy a buggy. Was thinking of a Phil&Teds as would then not need to get a new one if we have a second baba as planned after two years or so. But I am not sure. It seems quite heavy. I suppose any double type buggy would. So I would appreciate any input any of you have on the positives/negatives of your respective buggies. Important for me is that it can go through the woods for long walks but is also good on pavements, and that it has good space in the carrier bit underneath and is easily manoeuvrable (sp?). Don't use the bus very often and have a very big boot so it folding up tiny isn't necessarily too important, but I do have a tiny house so would also like it not to be TOO bulky. Oh and my husband and I are quite different sizes, me being a short arse and he fairly tall. So I guess it needs to have adjustable handles. It doesn't necessarily have to be a double buggy either. So any advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. I know I could go and look on the other threads here but you lot always have good advice so I thought I would ask!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 15:31

AF has arrived :)

Mopsy I love my Maclaren Techno XLR. Lightweight and does everything I need it to do.

mopsytop · 13/04/2012 15:33

Could it go over rough terrain, DSM? Yay for AF!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/04/2012 15:54

Um depends on your point of view. I can push it thru a field, thru pebbles on the beach. They have good sturdy wheels IMO

MissRee · 13/04/2012 15:56

My Graco is rubbish on rough terrain as I found out last week at the Easter egg hunt in the woods. The mothercare extreme I had before (the one that broke) was awesome on rough terrain... but it broke. Not much help really Hmm Would defo say 3-wheeler and pump up tyres best for all-terrain use.

GeeandTee · 13/04/2012 16:52

I really like the Maxi Cosi Loola Up, it handles really well and is lightweight and folds down very small. Not a double though. I also have a Graco tandem double, it was only £120 and I've found it really easy to manouevre. Its not very fashionable or good-looking but I don't care. It was cheap and does its job very well. Personally I don't like the Phil and Teds type where the little one sits kind of underneath and has no view out. They're also ridiculously expensive!

NorthernChinchilla · 13/04/2012 16:58

Ah well DSM, at least you know for sure now!

I am glad it's all settling now mopsy- I know I'll be the same when DP starts the Additional Paternity Leave and then when DS starts nursery, tis only natural. Hope you have actually managed to get some work done today though Grin! Definitely get the adjustable handles btw, it's a necessity for us too.

Hope DD1 perks up soon MsB, and that your chest/general unwellness is improving!

I've had a totally random good bit of news- some work was carried out in the garden, and it wasn't clear who's responsibility it was, mine or the neighbour's. Problem is, although next door are lovely and we get on really well, they rent, so anything is down to the landlord. The work had to be done, so I gritted my teeth and paid for the lot, and asked for a third of the cost. Didn't get a reply and tbh didn't expect to if I'm honest.

Nearly a year later, I've had a random call on my mobile from the agent, saying the cheque will be in the post next week- £200!
Grin

YBR · 13/04/2012 17:24

Been to Scarborough and back wed/thurs and the LO was alright - she's getting more troublesome at the moment largely (I think) because her teeth are troubling her. Main problem was her refusal to take any day-time naps, because there was far too much of interest going on, which resulted in a very grumpy baby.

Anyway I've just about caught up with you all so here's a selection of haddock, pompoms, chocolate, coffee and tea for the appropriate situations.

Sorelip · 13/04/2012 17:43

Hi all! I hope you are all doing well. It's been such a long time since I've been on here.

Quick question, has anyone else's baby got vomiting and diarrhoea?
