Oh poor little Hope, that must be a bit heartbreaking Air. And poor DS with his inflamed thigh/bum aethel- hope he's enjoying the snuggles.

DS just vommed down my leg, necessitating a change of clothes. Which is hardly hold the front page news with babies, but it's the first time ever he's been sick. Nappy didn't seem as wet as it should be, but he seems entirely cheerful now, if continuing to go through dribble bibs like they're going out of style. So will just keep an eye on him.

Have just changed over his clothes to the next size up, as he's 16 16- rather pleased as we were bought some lovely stuff in that size and I can't wait to get him in it!

Rashkakeller · 12/04/2012 16:36

Msbuggy hope you're snuggled up on the sofa and feeling a bit better. We have various degrees of cold in the household but nothing necessitating anti bs. I'm faring the best which is both a curse and a blessing!

Northern sick debut? It's a daily occurrence here, I tutted the other day when ds was sick on me and dp told me off, saying that he would get a complex (ds would, not dp although he'll get a complex with the back of my hand if he carries on ) Hope your ds carries on in fine form.

Air hope your dd feels better soon, the poor mite x

Aethel also hope your ds heals soon, bless him - was it due to heavy handed administering, do you think? My ds had jabs on Tuesday, there's no redness but he has little bruises this time. Seems ok though, probably because he has real chunky thighs like his mother

Hey, I haven't bought biscuits for 2 weeks and lost 4lb - I'm taking that as a positive correlation!

msbuggywinkle · 12/04/2012 16:38

I have cheered myself up by organising a trip to the beach on Sunday.

All these poor ill babies, hope at least they require lots of sleep tonight to heal Grin

AnAirOfHope · 12/04/2012 17:49

Im waiting for the boys to get.back from kfc with dinner and mil is making me a birthday cake cos Aaron wants to blow my candles out lol

hope still ill and screing i have done everything i can and she still upset and screaming the house down.

LittleMissFlustered · 12/04/2012 18:03

Snowsuit returned, new one procured. Massive amount of coffee inhaled. Annoying chavvy people told off. Dinner for this evening decided on. Homewards bound!

Heads-up for those not on the Facebook group, we're planning a Brum meet up on July 21st. All welcome. Coffee will happen, cake is entirely likely:o

aethelfleda · 12/04/2012 18:15

Nope, rash, the nurse was extremely brusque (she's always like that, but is the only nurse at our GPs), but lumps/bumps are just something that happens with jabs so I can't blame her much though I am tempted to .

We went out for a walk/scoot to blow off the cobwebs and got totally soaked in a huge thunder/hailstorm. Took ten minutes to get home, all of us totally drenched apart from DS: thank goodness I took the Maclaren rather than the baby sling!!! All dry/warm now, and will put him to bed later with pre-emptive neurofen. Vive le drugs.

hawthers · 12/04/2012 18:25

Humpf DH told me yesterday that mat leave isn't supposed to be a holiday clearly implying I'm having too much fun. Getting pissed off with the idea that it's an easy life looking after one/two DS' on minimal sleep. And when I have a shit day DH kindly reminds me how lucky I am to spend so much time with our boys. I feel like I just can't win.

Still had a lovely friend over from the nct group and her dd and my DS1 played beautifully together all morning while we chatted. Kept me sane today!

LittleMissFlustered · 12/04/2012 18:58
Rashkakeller · 12/04/2012 18:58

With all due respect, Hawthers, what a cheeky git!! Mat leave is bloody hard but is supposed to be fun. Does he think you should stay indoors with the kids all day, not seeing a soul? My dp had the kids for half hour on his own at the weekend and said he found it hard work. Keep doing what you're doing - keeps you sane and allows your dcs to have different experiences

AnAirOfHope · 12/04/2012 19:00

Is burm meet up at the bull ring? Its right by train station and go for shopping and food.

LittleMissFlustered · 12/04/2012 19:03

Is there a starbucks/coffee house with big cups there? If so I'm in:o

hawthers · 12/04/2012 19:04

Well indeed rashka think he is just uber stressed with work but really... He got the sharp end of my tongue last night and will be looking after both boys on his own for some time this weekend, should give him a taste of my 'holiday'

MissRee · 12/04/2012 19:05

All these poorly babies Sad hope they're on the mend soon!

Poo question: are Freya's jabs on Tuesday likely to be the cause of greenish and slightly lumpy poo? She doesn't have a temp and has been smiley and happy otherwise.

Complained to Huggies today about their shockingly bad nappies. They're sending me vouchers apparently Hmm I might just buy wipes with them instead.

I also followed up my complaint with mothercare after a month of stewing over their "blah blah" response. I found out the name of the CEO by doing a quick google search and guessed his email address. Haven't had an "undeliverable" email so I think I guessed correctly Grin If I don't have a response by Monday then I'll follow up with a phonecall. I know how cagey companies can be about giving out details of CEOs so I'm not holding out much hope but it's worth a try. This is when being a PA comes in handy Grin

Figgygal · 12/04/2012 19:24

What is it with all these sickly babies today LO has the runs again today another big normalish 1 this am then 2 nasty yellow ones this pm, if it carries on tomorrow going to have to call HV. Totally lost track of his feeds today our routine gone out window and he's now fallen asleep on me which isn't ideal at this time of night but either that or listen to him crying until bed time Sad

Could this be another sign of teething? He's drooling and biting down on everything so wouldn't be surprised.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/04/2012 19:28

Hope all the poorly babies are on the mend soon and you all get some much deserved sleep tonight.

Went for lunch and shopping trip this afternoon with a friend. Picked up Darcie from my nan's and came home and DP told me I was interfering as usual Sad I walked away and he's right to a degree I do comment on what he does ESP when it comes to Darcie as I feel he doesn't always listen to her and that's some of the reason she screams but I should try and ignore it as he Is only trying to interact with her.

Hawthers DP tried to pull that line with me the other day - I put him straight right away! Grin

Re Brum meet up - what is the Bull Ring?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/04/2012 19:30

Figgy Sounds like teething to me, but spk to HV if your worried.

I live by lists and my diary otherwise my life would go out the window!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/04/2012 20:00

Well, my DP will be doing it for the next few months, and I've no idea how that will change the dynamic of our relationship until DS goes to nursery in September. I think if DP had come out with that line hawthers he'd be searching for his teeth in the gutter I'd be a bit cross. Being at home is hard work, as is being in the office- neither is a holiday, but both have their own rewards and negative points. You'll have to let us know how he gets on over the weekend...

I will be interested to see how I feel and what I'm posting in a couple of months when the tables are turned Confused!

Hope DS has gone down OK aethel, and that Hope gets some sleep Air.

How did it go today with DH figgy? Really felt for you with last night's post!

DS has been fine for the rest of the day thanks Rashka, so just a random unexplained vom. I'm lucky in that he's not been ill at all since birth- I'm dreading it because DP's Dad is a GP, and the bloody odd result of that is that DP tends towards hypochondria, and I know he will totally lose it when DS gets ill for the first time.

Tomorrow is cleaning the bathroom and shower (think I've mentioned before how much I hate that job Grin) and a friend is bobbing round in the afternoon. And then it's the weekend, woooooo!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/04/2012 21:09

Keep on forgetting to say...
Major minor parenting fail a couple of days ago. Left DS sitting up at the back of the sofa (it's an ancient, deep seated thing), walked off to get something from the kitchen, and heard a wail.
He'd pulled himself forward, and was now totally extended, flat out, face-down on- or would be if he weren't so long, and his head was hanging off- the sofa and in danger of falling off as well.
So more of an injury than smothering risk Blush

It's because he's 'found' his feet- they are currently the most interesting thing in the world and he grabs them at any point and in any position. Anyone else's DCs doing this?!

aethelfleda · 12/04/2012 21:14

DS is in the moses basket. Shhhhhh.

Sleep vibes for the nightshifters, I'm having a decaf and pumping then turning in in an attempt to get a fair whack at sleep. DH has the day off tomorrow (woo hoo) so we are headed to the Lookout Centre in Bracknell. Oh the glamour (should be fun though!)

mopsytop · 12/04/2012 21:32

Evening all! Sorry to all w poorly babas, or indeed who are poorly themselves. Hope get well vibes can pass over the Internet as I am
Sending them on ...

Survived another day of minim in nursery - spent the whole day working in the library. Didn't find it too hard to get back into my chapter but soooo much to do still arrgggh! Minim was fine again, she doesn't seem to miss me, I suppose cos she's so small. She's still coughing and spluttering and snotty after a whole week. She's currently sort of gruntily wheezing (or wheezily grunting?) in her cot. She must have catarrh but it sounds scary. She's been doing it all week though and coughing loads but is happy, smiley during the day and chats away, feeding as usual etc so I amn't too worried. I really feel for you guys with poorly babies, it's really scary.

I'm already in the cot, trying to get some sleep after the past week of waking every half hour on average! I loooove my cot! Feather quilt and pillows and lovely cool cotton sheets and all White bed linen. It's so relaxing. Why does White always get autocorrected to initial caps on the iPhone?! Think you already may have asked that Oi, ages ago. It's super annoying!

Right off to read a bit before turning out the light. Night all! Here is to us all getting some lovely stretches of uninterrupted sleep tonight (although with the racket minimopsy is making with her grunts and snorts I don't hold our much hope. It's like having a little piglet in the room sometimes. A very very cute piglet!)

NorthernChinchilla · 12/04/2012 21:36

Join you with that mopsy, but DS seemed to have a nightmare just before- started yelling really loudly from nothing, and found him on his side, back arched, asleep and howling! Can they have nightmares?!

OiMissus · 12/04/2012 21:36

I tried to encourage more sleep. It may take a while for him to catch on. But we had a chilled day, and he has gone down slightly easier. This was achieved by putting him in his pram and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 4367 times. Still, he wasn't screaming.
dsm the Bull Ring is a shopping centre. And, would you believe, i've never been there?!
I'm not going to create a "style" post, because I'm not that ridiculous. But, in 2012, are fascinators an absolute no no? My lovely aunt saw my lovely noo dress for the wedding and insisted on lending me a fascinator, which goes incredibly well. I'll probably wait til the day to try it together, but I'm guessing it's a style no-no. I really don't care... Bugger it, if it looks good or if I need it to cover up the sick in my hair I'll wear it!

OP posts:
LittleMissFlustered · 12/04/2012 21:41

Oi I'm firmly in the encampment of folks who wear what they want regardless of the opinions of others:o If you like it, wear it!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/04/2012 21:50

If it's a wedding, then I'll always wear a massive hat personally (think it's some weird suppressed yearning to be her out of Four Weddings), but you have to ask one question- does it make you look like a demented parrot?

If the answer is no (and from your post, it sounds like you look fabulous) then as LMF says, if you like it, wear it- doesn't matter what the current style consensus is!

msbuggywinkle · 12/04/2012 22:01

Agreed, if you like it, wear it.

In style...DD2 has now decided that instead of calling me 'Mama' I am dreadlocker-girl. Which makes me sound like a superhero. Grin

I'm on DD1 duty this evening, she is still awake but claiming that she is going to sleep now. We have an audio book on, I have chocolate and Dandelion and Burdock awaiting me when the creature goes to sleep.

NC no idea if they can, but all of mine have done it sometimes, I feel really sad for them!
