Is anyone weaning and bf still? If so what's your routines? Do you feed at certain times of day, before/after naps etc?

Bubalie · 17/03/2012 17:16

Thanks for the new thread sassy! Fuzzy any news, hope S ok? Scheh nice to hear you're ok..
Janice I too had cbt before, hope it helps!I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one dealing with the 'bleeding ears'!!! He scratched and bled again last night, I'm thinking I'm going to have to put the mittens back on!!

MamaMaiasaura · 17/03/2012 17:18

Still bfing here scheh. Not actively weaning but at our family meal times I put half a banana or watermelon or similar on her bumbo tray (and hope she doesn't lob it in my drink/dinner Grin). Or she sits on lap and eventually I hope grab at my food. I don't actually know if I have a routine. We get up around 7 and bed same time and nap mid morn and mid afternoon, but only if she's seems tired. Days are a blur really Blush

MamaMaiasaura · 17/03/2012 17:19

Bed at 7pm. Silly me

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 17:28

Hey scheh good to hear you're okay.

Only started weaning properly a week ago. At the moment our day looks like this feed-wise...

7.30/8am bf
10.30/11 bf
13.30ish just started on a little bit of fruit or some yoghurt and then bf
16.00/16.30 veggies (up to 2 ice cube blocks!) and bf
18.30/19.00 200ml ff (and I express so we have enough bm for the days I'm working)

Thinking about introducing some baby rice during morning feed from a bowl and then top up after with bf.

M tends to nap 2 or 3 times a day between feeds for about 30 mins, usually at least an hour or so after a feed, but depends how tired he is.

jnice I do the same with my bottles for ebm or for formula.

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 17:29

Hi all, thanks for all messages! Took her up to hospital, was quiet so didn't feel silly like I was wasting anyone's time. Typically though while we were waiting she drank a full 7oz then had a wee snooze in my arms. Got called through, checked her temp, pulse etc and everything fine. Doctor said he would suspect a gastrointestinal virus since its been going on so long but it was a good sign that she had full bottle. Said to just continue getting milk in and fingers crossed is settling down. Was glad I went, just to be sure. It's a lovely day so we had a nice walk in new buggy in the fresh air afterwards. She loves it!! Think it was funny for her that she could see me and was proper giggling and grinning away. I can justify buying it now as she is happier Grin haha! We stopped and had a coffee and she drank another 7oz so yeah, gonna have a few days of no food, just milk and start again on Monday. Fingers crossed she is better by then Smile

Will go back and catch up with everyone's news now while we are snuggled up in bed having a rest!

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 17:58

glad to hear she's doing better fd Smile

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 18:52

meant to say scheh that this is just the routine that M has settled into, we haven't pushed him into feeding times. He's been feeding every 2 and a half to 3 hours for months now.

Scheherezade · 17/03/2012 18:57

Glad s is better fuzzzy what a relief!

Scheherezade · 17/03/2012 18:59

Trying to establish a good daytime routine whilst I'm here, C wants to feed before and after naps so I'm feeding every hourish which isn't very good! Trying fruit & veg 8am, 12pm & 5pm (roughly).

Bubalie · 17/03/2012 20:04

LittlePebble · 18/03/2012 06:57

Scheh I do two meals for E one about 10am lazy and one at 5pm but I think we're going to increase that next week (if I can find my Annabel Karmel book!). Glad you're getting some support xx

Ed Sad hope you do get some time today being spoilt DH won't be gone all day will he? Can you snuggle up and watch twilight DVDs while he's out? Grin

Sassy your buggy looks amazing! I can't imagine having to push it down here (where I live is really hilly so it's a huge workout to go down into the town and back). It must keep you fit pushing the 3!

MrsH glad L is a bit better.

FD pushchair looks great, hope S is better this morning.

Happy Mothers Day everyone hope you all get spoilt. How exciting my first mothers day! GrinGrinGrin

MrsHende · 18/03/2012 08:27

Happy mother's day! Hope you all have a lovely one, whether it's your first (woo hoo! Grin) or twelfth!

LittlePebble · 18/03/2012 08:30

Just managed to catch up on last thread.
Bilblio sorry about your cat similar thing happened to us a while ago Sad
Bubalie no bleeding ears but we get scratched eyes from where he rubs them so hard.
DP just gave me a beautiful antique opal ring as happy mothers day / belated giving birth present, he chose opal because it's October's birth stone (bless him) gone all soppy now Grin

MrsHende · 18/03/2012 08:38

Well done Mr Pebble!

I got a lovely card Smile.

FuzzzyDuck · 18/03/2012 09:54

Happy Mothers day to all the yummy mummy's Smile

Early start over here (6.45am Envy) but gettin ready to go out with my girl to get my mum and gran some flowers. Prayin that the shops do still have some and if not, it's my own fault for leaving things late Blush.

The sun is out here in Glasgow and it just feels like a perfect spring day once the temp gets up and the frost has melted from the car Grin

MamaMaiasaura · 18/03/2012 12:16

Happy mothers day everyone Smile. My boys made me breakfast in bed and taken ds2 and J to beauliea this morning to feed ducks and swans. Had to pop in yummy choc shop too for supplies.

Re weaning, just had toast for lunch and yoghurt and J grabbed my toast and sucked it and then gummed a bit off and chewed it! She gagged a little and spat out, then tried again. Then while I was eating yoghurt she grabbed spoon, so she had a little of it. Now she's nursing and falling to sleep on my bed. Wanted to wait longer till Jessica was 6 months but she's taken the lead. I'll just keep having her on my lap I think and let her get on with it. (bit scary tho).

Ds2 has a croaky voice now, poorly boy. It does sound cute tho.

CheshireDing · 18/03/2012 19:12

Scheh we are just letting P try bits and bobs at mealtimes where we/I have lots of time - so less so for evening meal. Mostly she is still bf though, we will just see what happens over the next few weeks.

We had a house warming bbq last night, we had around 50 people turning up and ended with a 1am keg of beer in the lounge. I was very impressed I managed to stay awake until that time! Felt quilty about P though because I felt like I was neglecting her, even though she was asleep in her room. Stupid I know, it doesn't even make sense.

Dinner of course is a burger tonight and any old random left over veggie bits I can find Grin

How is S now FD?

Hope everyone had a lovely sunny day.

Engelsmeisje · 18/03/2012 19:41

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. Not MD here until May so DH was off the hook!

Had a 5k run today - a PB of 29:48. Not super fast but really chuffed (and it didn't rain!).

FuzzzyDuck · 18/03/2012 19:56

Well done enj!! My pb for 5k is 34mins but havnt done it in a loooong time now. I'd be lucky to do it in under an hr Blush

cheshire sounds like a fun night!!! Good on ya for lasting till 1am Grin. Bet P was having a party in her cot!

We have had a lovely day Smile. Managed to get some flowers and chocolates for my mum and gran. Had a nice walk round the shops this morning, laughing at all the dads running around like headless chickens tryin to find something 'from the kids'. We then headed to my mums for dinner. Got out in the garden for a while which was nice. Got some great photos of S. really must start getting them printed off. I got a frame with my favourite photo of S from when she was only a few weeks old, flowers, chocolates and 'confessions of a midwife' (think that's what it's called!). Looking forward to many more years of this!!

S seems back to normal today thank god! Had a solid poo this afternoon and was eating everything in sight at dinner. Was planning just to get milk into her today but she ended up having some pitta, fruit pot, yogurt and banana! She's away down for the night. There was lots of rolling and trying to crawl so she was knackered by 7pm so had her milk and lights out. Ive got so much washing to sort then cup of tea and wee choc then hopfully an early night for me too Smile

Ah motherhood. Can't beat it Smile

PenguinArmy · 18/03/2012 20:28
