MrsHende · 17/03/2012 03:57

Bleary eyed but marking my place, thanks sassy, great title!

LittlePebble · 17/03/2012 05:02

Thanks Sassy. Marking my place while I try and catch up x

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/03/2012 07:04

Thanks sassy for new thread
Don't remember who said what sorry, but can't have mothers day today as we're going to an all day wedding.

jnice I would just take pushchair, bum changing stuff, teething powders (just in case) enough clothes and pjs with a cpl spare, and a cpl sleeping bags. If you have access to a microwave u could get a microwave steriliser that only does one bottle, cheap and not v big and a cpl of toys. HTH

FD pram is gorgeous Envy love the colour

M has slept from 1am dreamfeed through to 6am two nights running FX it stays that way Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 07:11

Marking place! Yes we are averaging a thread a month!! Back shortly

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 07:43

17 28

Just had to get bottle made and bun changed before I could post!

I really dont know what to do about S. I thought yesterday morning she was gettin better, had slightly better nappy first thing but then over the day she had 6 nappys that were just water! The noise of it all in her stomach is awful. She is usually 4x 7oz of milk along with cereal (made with a further 2oz) and fruit in the morning. Some veg or just a yog and toast at lunch then some veg/pasta with fruit for dinner. Yesterday she ate her cereal and some fruit in the morning but that was it. I can fully accept that she won't want to eat with a bad tummy do anything was a bonus but over the 24hrs she had only 17oz of milk, rather than 28oz. She is pooing out far more than she is taking in and her nappys are hardly wet. Again just now I made her 6oz and she's taken 3oz and that was last being fed at 7pm last night. The gp said on Thursday that any concerns over the wkend just to take her to hospital and it's in my mind just now, but I don't know of its a bit much considering she isn't really lacking energy etc. it's just the level of fluids and the fact it's been like this since Monday. I would expect myself to have a bad tummy for going on 6 days now without some sort of reason.

What would you do if it was your baby? mrsh how is L now?

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 07:44

Ignore the 17 and 28 at top. That was just my reminder to how much she has drank!

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 07:45

*wouldnt expect

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 07:53

Ok she has taken a few further oz so that's 5oz this morning. Another thing, she is very very windy from her bum now. Do you think it's possible she has developed an intolerance for the formula? I would think with a bug it would zap her energy but it hasn't. But then I guess she would still be eating food which she isn't really. Oh I really don't know!!

golemmings · 17/03/2012 08:15

fd I think the advice we had with dd was to take her in if she had dry nappies for 12 hours. If you're concerened then go - or phone nhs direct and see what they advise.

Somebody up thread was asking about boosting milk. Oats are really good for that.

I really ought to be thinking about weaning. You lot are so excited about it that its almost rubbing off on me. We're away over Easter for a week and I was going to start properly after that. Will give him some veggie sticks before then though I think. He's a big boy to be living just on milk. At 4 mo he was the same weight dd was at a year (20lb)!

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 09:31

Morning all. Thanks for the new thread sassy.

Fuzzzy I would call NHS direct, even if they say not to go to hospital, it'll give you peace of mind.

Jnice advice here is that it's not necessary to sterilise bottles. We just rinse bottles with hot water and then wash in hot soapy water and rinse off, then dry with a clean muslin. Glad to hear that you're moving forward with treatment Jnice. DH has also just started CBT as well.

bubalie M pulls at/scratches his head and ears when he's tired. It's his way of trying to comfort himself to sleep. Have had to be careful about cutting his nails to short though, a few weeks ago I noticed one of his fingers was really red and warm. I'd cut the nail too short an it had dug into the flesh ont he side of his finger. had to squeeze out quite a bit of white puss but clened it up and no repeat.

Sorry to hear about your cat bilblio

cheshire I know lots of people with babies who are not sleeping through yet. Sure there are a fair few on this thread too!

enjoy the wedding ed (it's a beautiful day here).

M has started blowing raspberries. Cute, but not so cute when we're in the middle of feeding veggies! Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 17/03/2012 10:09

I think i will head to hospital with her. She slept 7.30 til 7am this morning, had bottle then slept again 8-9am, woke for 10 mins then dozing again. I just want for peace of mind to know she isn't going to end up dehydrated with lack of fluids. She is layin next to me like this Grin but still, I'm not happy with how ill she appears Sad

LittlePebble · 17/03/2012 10:57

FD take her it's better to get her checked out xx

sassy34264 · 17/03/2012 11:28

i would take her too fuzzy hope she is ok. let us know when you can. x

MrsHende · 17/03/2012 12:19

I hope everything's ok with S Fuzzzy, how are you getting on?

L's nappies only began to get back to normal yesterday, a week after it started. She's still not entirely herself and isn't feeding like usual, you have the advantage/disadvantage of seeing exactly what she isn't eating. Having had the bug too, it was only yesterday that I began to eat a normal amount.

You've done the right thing to take her to the hospital, dehydration can be so serious and can happen so quickly in babies.

MrsHende · 17/03/2012 12:22

Meant to say, thanks for the advice about my milk, I'll try expressing after every feed today and get myself some flapjacks!

Scheherezade · 17/03/2012 14:12

Hi all, sorry I've had to skip through all the posts, there's just too much!

Good luck with cbt Jnice though I suspect you'll feel a lot better once you're getting some good sleep!

fuzzzy can you call OOH gp?

We're good here, the other 2 ladies are on leave till Monday so I have staff all to myself which is a help. They took C all morning so I got a good lie in and feel loads better.

MamaMaiasaura · 17/03/2012 14:17

Just marking spot. Horrendous night, ds2 up pretty much whole night coughing. I'll try and catch up.

MamaMaiasaura · 17/03/2012 14:31

scheh good to hear from you, glad you had good rest and that staff are helping.

fuzzy hope all ok at hospital. Re what would I do, I'd prob knock all solids on the head and concentrate on milk till stomach settled then slowly re-introduce food. That's what I'd do for older children too, but replace milk with water/sugary drinks.

J is sitting well now and seems to do something new every day. Dh took her and ds2 this morning so I got a couple of hours snoozing. A real treat, after hardly any sleep last night. J is out of some of her 3-6 month clothes now Sad. Hard packing away her little things. She's almost 5 months and it's going so fast.

jnice I had cbt after ds1 and found it really helped me on how I deal with things Smile

My friend who had her baby early told me events. She went in at 34 weeks with ctx. Suspected wee infection. They did internal
and her waters went she was already 5cm. Her dd had her foot out of cervix! Crash section under ga for footling breach! They are home now, a week after. She's gorgeous

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 14:42

Sending you hugs and hope you have a better night mama

Engelsmeisje · 17/03/2012 14:44

Didn't refresh! Great to hear about your friend's little girl mama Smile

Jnice · 17/03/2012 15:52

fuzzy hope she is better soon and you're probably right to go to ER - best be on the safe side.

mama sorry to hear about ds2 get well soon to him as well.

scheh - good to see you Smile glad you are being well looked after. I think you are right about sleep. By Friday I am a wreck and the. Recover over the weekend with extra naps.

Jnice · 17/03/2012 15:53

Glad to hear CBT helped you mama, I also get awful pmt so hoping it helps in general too.

Jnice · 17/03/2012 15:55

engels glad to hear your DH is also getting treated. Thanks for the tip, will probably just wash with very hot water and soap. But is this the advice for ebm or formula? I think it might be different.
