S been sleeping on me since 9.40am Hmm. Really don't want to wake her to move but I'm desperate for a cup of tea!!

MamaMaiasaura · 21/03/2012 11:22

ed GrinGrin at Christopher's ears lol. Aww lovely dressmaker. Really need to sort naming day Blush bit slack as she's number 3 I think

FuzzzyDuck · 21/03/2012 11:45

Typically she woke just after I posted Grin. That's funny ed!! And great news about dress! She will look like a princess Smile. Btw, free art class on again tomorrow if you and mrsh are free!

I don't know what's happened with S, but suddenly she just wants to stand all the time and is getting much better at sitting unsupported. It's true what they say, the difference a few weeks makes!

Engelsmeisje · 21/03/2012 12:32

Afternoon all.

Glad to hear the op went well strawberry.

Grin at C ed

lp I tried some baby rice with M this morning and he really turned up his nose at it (don't blame him, looks like vomit!) so am going to try mixing it with a bit of fruit tomorrow morning instead.

Just got back from hospital appt and M is going to be measured for a helmet on Friday. Have to take all the cute pics I can before he gets it in a few weeks because he'll be wearing it 23 hours a day until he's 12 months!

I feel shattered. Yesterday DH had arranged us to go round and have coffee with his parents as his recently widowed aunt was there. I know that means I should be nice (and I was!) but she was so irritating (a proper competitive GP and M). I said I was going to sit M is the highchair to see what he thought about it and how well he could sit properly himself and she immediately pounced on me, "No Eng, you must wait until 6 months!" Well, just for a two minutes to see what he thinks of it. "NO! 6 months! No sooner!" and then went on about how she started weaning her son (DHs cousin) at 6 weeks because he wouldn't sleep ("Milk wasn't enough for him!").

She went on and on about how "parents nowadays" aren't there for their children because they insist on working and how she was "always there for my kids" at the same time as telling me how running their own business they were working Mon-Sat early morning to late at night week in week out. All I could think was, "I'm so glad you're not my MIL!". She annoyed me SO MUCH! I gave up responding to her comments in the end because she wasn't listening to me or wasn't waiting for me to get my words out (always harder for me in Dutch). Have resorted to DHs advice which is "Look stupid and grin". Sorry for the rant but it's still bothering me now!!

FuzzzyDuck · 21/03/2012 13:26

S is enjoying a bit of toast and advocado, a bit with houmous and a bit dipped in my tomato soup. So funny watching her face!!!

enj Angry at relatives!! Do you get to pick a funky design for helmet? We had a boy in nursery who's had army print on it!!

sassy34264 · 21/03/2012 13:46

omg eng she sounds dreadful! a bit wierd that she insists he can only sit in a highchair at 6 months but feeds her child solids at 6 weeks. he wouldnt sleep???? erm, babies dont!

i think ive just had a 3hour nap. Blush woke up to jacob crying in his cot. not sure if hed only just started or whether its been going on a while and im too sleepy. its unusual for all 3 bsbies to sleep that long and together.
was up late and a lot last night as dp was ill and kept sitting bolt right up cos he thought he was voing to be sick. i think he got fed up in the end and went and made himself be sick. he's at his 2nd job interview now looking like death warmed up.

eva has had baby rice now 4 times in a row and i think she likes it. she spitted most of it out at 1st but i made it a bit thicker and that seems to have worked. i still dont think shes too bothered though. very loyal to the milk like isobel was.

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 21/03/2012 13:50

sat here laughing reading my post back- poor eva. she probably couldnt spit it out cos it has the consistency of glue!

OP posts:
LittlePebble · 21/03/2012 16:48

Sassy Grin at glue
Hope DP's job interview goes well.

Engels Angry at DH's Aunt - I always end up lying awake at night thinking up clever things I should have said when I meet someone like that.

E seems a bit louder brighter this afternoon, but was still coughing when he tried to have a nap which kept waking him up, but I'm hoping he'll be better tonight as DP is out at a meeting so I'm all alone

strawberrypenguin · 21/03/2012 17:14

ed glad it went well with the dressmaker I'm sure she will look gorgeous. Had to :o at C's ears that's brilliant!

eng your DHs aunt sounds delightful, think you did very well to not get Angry with her. Poor M hope he takes to the helmet well, I'm sure he will look cute in it too

sassy sounds like a good nap :o

strawberrypenguin · 21/03/2012 17:16

lp hope E manages to sleep tonight, glad he seems a bit better

Engelsmeisje · 21/03/2012 18:24

yep fuzzzy get to choose a colour or print. Weird to think that he'll have to wear it for so long, but better to do it now than regret it later and then not be able to do anything about it.

was chatting with MIL about DHs aunt (her sister) and she told me she's always been like that...thinks she knows everything. But MIL seems to think I gave as good as I got with her comments even though I was a bit Shock at some of them, couldn't get my words out of my mouth fast enough! (some more of her gems; when I told her I'd done a 5k race/run on Sunday and run 3 times a week, "Running is bad for you. You should do yoga instead." When I told her I didn't like yoga when I tried it, "Then you don't understand it.") Is it wrong to want to tell a 72 year old to shut up?! Grrrrr! I have become a lot mouthier and assertive since I moved to Holland. The Dutch are so blunt, they'll walk all over you if you give them half the chance.

sassy if anyone deserves a 3 hour nap it's you!

I just finished reading The Hunger Games - such an awesome book! Have downloaded the rest (and spent A LOT of money on Amazon Sad ).

M has just gone to bed. I broke his black out blind on Sunday Sad DH is really annoyed with me. he's trying to superglue the plastic catch back together (as that's what I managed to break). Seems so silly to buy a whole new blind just because of a tiny bit of plastic. Hoping he'll continue his sleeping streak cos I have to go to work tomorrow!

CheshireDing · 21/03/2012 19:42

Poor P has banged her little head twice today :( Once when we were doing flying baby and banged it on mine and once when she was sitting up on her own and then fell sideways :( Only little on both ocassions but feel terrible about it. Poor mite, plus she has had red cheeks and been upset all day, stupid teeth. Also she has rolled on to her tum twice and because she can't get back she has been absolutely devastated when I got back to her (only went to the ground floor to put something in the kitchen bin and she was on the top floor). She is not having a good day.

How long is it roughly before they can get back on to their backs from their tum?

Love what your DH said Engel, I like that idea towards the know-it-all-pensioner Grin. Have a Wine.

Yes it was me who asked about Baby French Pebble, glad E loves it. P's favourite song to stop her being upset is the tune from The Addams Family and then when it gets to the bit just after they say "The Addams Family" der der der der der der der etc etc then she gets kisses all over her face. Random but she loves it :)

Good nap Sassy Grin

FD did you make your own humous? I was thinking about cooking and then mushing some chick peas up to put on P's celery (mushed up chick peas once to do Carol Voderman Detox - waste of time!)

LittlePebble · 21/03/2012 19:53

Argh E won't go down Sad just tried to get some supper and left him for 2 minutes and he screamed as if the world was ending! Never normally this bad but he's not coughing like last night no idea what's going on. And I'm starving!

FuzzzyDuck · 21/03/2012 20:19

cd no Blush it was a roasted red pepper one from Sainsburys. Only a little scrapping on some toast but she happily munched away on it. So far, she hasn't shown a dislike to anything. We went to my parents for tea and she had a little taste of their spag bol. It's the faces she pulls, priceless!!

Aww lp. Hopefully he settles to. I'm hovering round the door to make sure she is proper asleep before I jump in the shower. Nothing worse than shampooing hair and she starts to scream!!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/03/2012 06:16

Class sounds great fuzzy is it 10.30 at kidsworld again?

Those that have started weaning does it help with sleep? Mhairi is still waking every 2-3 hours at night for a feed despite being able to go longer than this in the day [commfused] I'm now completely exhausted and need her to sleep before I collapse!

I'm considering formula for last feed at night and starting weaning today in the hope that she'll sleep soon!

CheshireDing · 22/03/2012 06:46

Ed I don't think it's helping sleep because P is just tasting really at the moment, rather than actual meals as such.

What I am CONVINCED has helped her only wake twive a night is no caffeine. Yesterday I drank 2 cups of tea and she woke every 2 hours, the rest of this week (excluding one other day) I drank hot chocolate/fruit tea and always a Canomile tea before bed and she just wakes twice. Sometimes I just really need a brew of Coke but it must just send P's system wild or something.

No answer as to how to get her to roll back on to her back though rather than waking me now all upset because she's stuck on her front Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/03/2012 07:02

Thanks CD I've been on decafe since she was 3weeks Sad

fuzzy would it be ok to bring a friend and her wee girl? She is nearly 2yo or is ur more for babies?

FuzzzyDuck · 22/03/2012 07:03

ed yeah Smile

CheshireDing · 22/03/2012 07:26

Oh! Ed Sad. Maybe you should try Wine then Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 22/03/2012 07:33

FuzzzyDuck · 22/03/2012 08:30

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/03/2012 09:16

No worries my friend and I will make it next week Grin

BB3 · 22/03/2012 10:34

Popping in to mark my place - now off to catch up. It will take a while...

sassy34264 · 22/03/2012 10:57

omg- i hate this bloody house! dp took twins out so i can do some proper housework and ive not even scratched the fecking surface. it takes forever cos its that bloody neglected. umph.

i have managed to keep myself going with mini eggs and coke! well, it has to have some perks to it or i just wouldnt bother!

cheshire i have quite a coke addiction thing going on and it makes no difference with eva. it did with the twins though.

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 22/03/2012 10:59
