Ooh MrsH I did a footprint mug for DP at Christmas, but couldn't do a handprint then as hands like little fists...did L do a good handprint?

MrsHende · 09/03/2012 19:41

She did two that were quite good and the third was great! Guess which mug I'm keeping Grin! (Couldn't possibly show favouritism between the grans...)

FuzzzyDuck · 09/03/2012 19:52

Omg, if she has pulled the dummy out her mouth once, she's done it 50 feckin times Angry. I've left it now. Not going back in. I'll wait till she is crying for it. Maybe, just maybe she will fall asleep without it highly unlikely

FuzzzyDuck · 09/03/2012 20:12

Went in, picked her up and was rocking her for 10 seconds and age was out. I guess she just wanted one more kiss and cuddle. Monkey!!!

CheshireDing · 09/03/2012 23:18

We have a leg thumper but no rolling, good to know it might be a prelude to rolling though. P has recently grabbed her toes a few times so I think that might help the rolling.

For those of you doing pics for the house there is a frame in Next with 13 spaces (one is a big one at the end) and you put birth-12 months pics. We got one done for P off the farmers market at Christmas so each month I put the next months little pic in so we can see how she has changed all in a row it's very cute.

Have headache, blocked ears, snot nose, hot eyes Sad

PA I hate the car seat crying too, it's made much worse when I can see tears in the rear view mirror Sad

LittlePebble · 10/03/2012 05:20

Grin MrsH
Cheshire hope you're feeling better x
Another one here who can't cope with car crying PA Sad
Well E woke at 12 and again now for a feed but both times my boobs were about to explode so not too bad really. Now to try and get back to sleep...

Penelope1980 · 10/03/2012 06:17

A is a leg thumper as well, and he does it when tired to settle himself - has done so since he was about 3 months old, and it is so loud that was what led us to put him in his own room!

LittlePebble · 10/03/2012 07:46

pene ha ha bless A! Do you think you've got a future All Black? Judging by the size of E's thighs he looks a cert for rugby Wink
Cheshire photo frame is lovely but it looks like it only comes in pink Sad.

So just before 6am DP went to the loo and E was murmuring in his cot. I asked DP to pop his dummy in as he was up. Instead DP goes in turns the light on and switches on his loud and very exciting mobile Angry!! I jumped out of bed, switched everything off again, E was grinning at me thinking it was morning, so had to give him a quick feed to get him back down again (he's still asleep now so wasn't ready to get up).
Why? It wasn't even light? It's Saturday! Men! Hmm Angry
I've now got a suitably chastened DP who's just bought me tea in bed, run a bath and is making me breakfast Wink.

FuzzzyDuck · 10/03/2012 07:51

Aww lp Grin. Luck you, enjoy your breakfast in bed!!
S been awake for last 10 mins but I'm just laying watching her chatting away to the animals on her mobile. Wonder what she is trying to say... Oh no that's her heard me so time to get up! Back later Smile

CheshireDing · 10/03/2012 08:00

Pebble it comes with the pink bits blue too.

Glad you are getting breakfast in bed Smile, don't leave crumbs in the sheets though [grin[. We had a similar conversation in the middle of the night when D was talking to P rather than just putting her mobile on - in the end I had to go in and feed.

For the lastg 3 nights P has only woken about 1.30am and 4/5-ish but last night I didn't have my camomile tea or do a dream feed so she woke loads (although obviously it could be coincidence) and we are on our 3 baby monitor of the week because our original one broke and had to be returned. Monitor 3 is going back tomorrow too because it's bloody annoying.

Am tired, ill and have the Germans coming over to see their Neice for the first time this afternoon, grumpy? "who me"? Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 10/03/2012 08:19

First full night's sleep for a week...but I'm not going to get used to it Grin

Gave M a feed at 7.30 in our bed and have left him up there snoozing with DH.

Aaaah...peace!

BB3 · 10/03/2012 08:50

Cheshire dh does that all the time, to the point the girls now look round to him when they wake at night with smiles anticipating play time!!! Angry

supergirl1 · 10/03/2012 09:08

Hi everyone.
Bad bad bad night.Up.every.hour. omg, thought every two hours was bad! Now dh has him and i cant sleep! How is that even possible? I am in a surprisingly good mood considering

Yay for the rolling babies!e still not there but last night did manage to hold onto cot bars with both hands and stick feet through bars while shouting! Little monkey :) had been trying to ignore him for all of two minutes.
Have started baby rice but its made bugger all difference. made it worse actually!
Had to give my starting date to work.21st may. cried after i sent the email. didnt think id feel like this! After ds1 i went to uni full time when he was 6 months. cant remember feeling so :( . i work an hour away though and i'll miss them both- have so enjoyed doing school pick up!
Having said that im only going back 3 days. hugs to anyone who has to go back full time. x

Jnice · 10/03/2012 09:41

ed - re WW, me too Blush I binge when i am overtired Sad

supergirl hang in there x

sassy34264 · 10/03/2012 11:22

eva is still sleeping through.
but i had a crap sleep last night, due to my 3 brandies and dp turning over twice so bloody roughly, i swear i left the bed! umph.

mrsh i do the arm hurting carseat shuffle too.

no leg thumping but plenty of noisy chatting, so loud that dp tells her to shut up (laughingly) cos she can drown out the telly. she has also started doing 180 degree turns in her cot!

my mum was pursing her lips at her yesterday blowing raspberries and she stated copying- jutting her bottom lips right out- sooooo cute.

pebble i should think so (breakfast) i would be Angry if my dp did that. i tend to bark 'dont stimulate them' so he knows better now. or better still, say, you wake them up, you deal with um. that works a treat. Grin

trying to remember what everyone said without scrolling back- brain empty.

will post and scan again.

sassy34264 · 10/03/2012 11:33

ah just remembered.

jnice

eva was 9lb 15oz born, so above 98th percentile. weighed her at 18/19 weeks and she is 16lbs 4oz and now smack in the middle of the 71st-98th percentile. so about 84/85 percentile. so she has fell a bit and im breast and bottle feeding.
i cant remember exactly but i think isobel fell from between 50-75 percentile to 25th percentile.
i think if they're not crying after feeds then they are getting enough. obviously there will be exceptions. but try not to worry too much and dont let them pressurise you or make you feel crap about anything. you sound like you're feeding a helluva a lot to me. i would be going a bit insane. so im sure you're doing a fab job. x

jotravers · 10/03/2012 15:21

Hi Everyone,

I'm a mum of a toddler, and a student, and after weaning my baby I decided to do my dissertation on why people wean the way they do. I have put a questionnaire on the media requests page (i.e. I paid the fee!) and I would really love it if I could get your answers. I think that the information I was given from health visitors etc didn't take real life into account so I want to hear what other real people think too.

My original post is at www.mumsnet.com/Talk/media_nonmember_requests/1422893-A-survey-about-weaning-your-baby

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!!!!!

Jnice · 10/03/2012 17:38

Thank you sassy Smile

Leo was born 9.6, now at 20 wks is 14.13 - but he is following a curve between 25th and 50th, he dropped from 90th (I think) when it took so long to get back to birthweight. I guess we are doing fine really. Night feedings back down to 3/4 which is still terrible for an almost 5 month old but infinitely better than 6!

Jnice · 10/03/2012 17:40

mrsh and sassy I have the same issue in the car. Have you been on a long trip and does it get better if you do? We're goin away in a couple of weeks and I'm terrified!

sassy34264 · 10/03/2012 18:18

jnice

eva isnt that bad and usually doesnt take that long to go to sleep. esp if we can get a good stretch going- its when we have to stop for traffic lights etc that she starts off again.
my twins were 6months on feb 13th last year and we went to stay at dp's cottage in bath around 24th feb. it is 3 1/2 hours drive. they were already eating food at this point as well as breast. i dont think we stopped at all on the way down cos we went at night deliberately. but on the way back we stopped at a service station half way through and bf and gave them half a jar of heinz rice pudding. (it was all they sold) and they were fine.

i get dp to pull over all the time if eva wont stop crying and i know its cos she is hungry. i just feed, burp and put her back.

MamaMaiasaura · 10/03/2012 19:22

jnice we are on 3/4 night feeds too, j is 20 weeks today. I'm just following her lead, it will settle down again. Re car journeys, ds2 hated them. J only cries if hungry or very tired. I stop if she doesn't stop as know it's hunger. I feed her and burp her and pop her back in. Ds2 got better once in forward facing Carseat.

PenguinArmy · 10/03/2012 19:42

Jnice DS is fine on long trips, he cries himself if overtired when we put him in but he does sleep for a few hours. DD used to have little cries but would only sleep for an hour.

I personally don't think 3/4 times a night is terrible for a 5 month old, I think 2 is good and sleeping through is great. If your DC is following a line (albeit a different one from birth) then that's great, you just had a super placenta. I know I've said it before but DD was born 6 12 and at 9 months weighed 13 10 (which was double birth).

Had DS is slightly reclines from upright position in the buggy today and he was a different baby. Not a single sound in 90 mins which included going to sleep and waking him up. The double is being transformed into two toddler seats now.

He is still congested so similar night as previous and was grumpy today until the buggy affair. Now feeding him to sleep, hopefully.

Jnice · 11/03/2012 00:31

I expect L do go a little longer at night than he does during daytime feeds. I would be happy if he could stretch to feeding every 4 hours at night instead of 2 or 3, which is what I get during the day. 'm definitely not expecting him to sleep through the night. Neither of his brothers did that until much later.

Waking sometimes every 2 hours to feed between 11 and 7 just sucks!

Jnice · 11/03/2012 00:32

Hehe, I like the idea that I had a super placenta Grin
