Good luck RTL. Hope it's not too bad....

I do not understand this baby of mine. He hardly fed at all yesterday as he has started to get distracted (popping on and off the boob, grinning, waving arms, fiddling with my clothes etc etc) so I thought that he would be wanting fed during the night. Well, no. He slept from 7.30pm (actually 6.30pm because of the clocks changing) and I had to wake him at 7am this morning. Shock I am not complaining about getting a full night myself though Grin

I had the family round for dinner yesterday and I wonder if perhaps all the attention wore him out. He sat in his highchair at the table whilst we all ate. His wee jaws were going up and down practicing for when he gets to eat! It's so cute Grin and he is so sociable.

RTL Good luck with your first day at work.

Thomas slept from 6pm until 8pm in his bouncer, woke up took 5oz milk and we put him to bed then dh woke him up by being clumsy !Angry when we went to bed at 10.30 he wouldn't settle so gave him some more bottle he took 8ozs!! and slept until 5.40 this morning which is the best nights sleep we have had with him since early Feb! yippeeee just hoping that we have turned a corner with this whole sleeping thing!Grin
Hope all your lo's are ok this morning, looking out of the window at all this rain I think we are going to have a day at home making purees for lo!
Oh and Thomas is 26 weeks old today!! where have the last 6 months gone??? Blush

Joey is 26 weeks old today tooSmile (well, technically 26 weeks old yesterday, given that he was born on the 26/9, but he was born on the Monday, making it today IYSWIM)

Bad night - Joey was fast asleep from 8.30pm until DP snored so loudly it startled him awake at 11pm, and poor thing didn't really settle again all night. Cue cross words between me and DP over the state of his snoring, then me not getting any sleep because a)i was worried about Joey (his cold's turned into a right stinker), and b)i felt like a right bitch for moaning at DPSad

Hope all is going well RTL and you'r not too tired when you get home!!

NM how long until you go back to work? Are you really tired today?

MB hope you had lots of fun with all your family yesterday.

Well Cameron decided to get not well on me again - I have asked him if he is going to save it for special occassions (we were in hosp all over christmas and new year) Saturday night I went to check him and he had been sick all over his cot. He didnt wake until 8.20 (7.20) on Sunday, stayed awake for about an hour and a half but was really upset. Then when I got him back up he was still really upset - totally out of character (he is such a cheery chappy) gave him some milk but he did'nt want it, so gave him some mediced then put him back to bed. Woke him at 2.15 and he took 4oz of milk but he was really hot - his temp was 37.7 so I phoned NHS 24 and they told me to take him up to the hosp as he is only a baby. By the time we got to hosp his temp was 38.6 they gave him calpol and nurofen then checked his temp an hour later, it had gone up to 39 so we had to wait until his temp came down, so they said it is a Gastroenteritis bug which is a very common end winter/beginning spring bug (a&e was heaving with kids sitting around in nappies and older kids with sick bowls). So I think whatever bug each new season brings Cameron is going to catch.
He is sleeping constantly. I'm not used to this - wee Jess is nearly 4 and I'm lucky is she has been sick twice!!

Anyway I'll keep you all updated on how he is.

Sorry to hear about Cameron MG. Hopefully he's on the mend and will be back to being himself soon.

We went to our baby group this afternoon. Johnny is so nosey. He just sits and watches everybody and doesn't make much noise or show much interest in playing with the toys. I think he's a bit like me and DH. Quite happy to watch whats going on without having to be right in the middle of it all.

I bought a backpack on ebay last night as Johnny is just too heavy for the sling on my front. I hope it arrives soon. I am going to put the pram away in the loft as it's just taking up space now and I don't use it at all now, not even in the house. It can sit there until I have another one Shock

MG i do hope cameron is better soon!!!
RTL how was your first day??

we actually had a quite good night the last one! caitlin went to bed at 6pm and woke at 3am for a feed and then again 5.30 for another oz untill 7!! she didn't need feeding straight away and had her morning bottle at 8! so here's hoping to many similar nights or even without the 3am one ?!?!?!?
the solids went better today too. she managed 1/3 of the smaller jars and for lunch she had another 1/3 of some fruits. at least the mouth opened 'willingly' and she actually made chewing motions. so we might be on the right way ...

poo has changed too. smell, colour and consistence :o

i had her on the swing in the park the other day and she was giggling all the time!! so i guess that'll be a favourite Wink

mg how is Cameron doing now?
susis you can always tell when we are feeding ds butternut squash because we can't shovel it in quick enough for him! (can't stand the taste myself!) We get the biggest chewing motion when he has a little bit of Bonjela for his gums!!

Evie's fave is blueberry and apple - she starts whinging if a new loaded spoon isn't there by the time she has finished the mouthful she has!

Joey's favourite is sweet potato and carrot, though he's getting rather partial to raspberry petit filous!

Slightly better night, though Joey now sounds like Darth Vader, with his blocked noseSmile

Yokefleet · 28/03/2006 10:32

another reasonable night here Thomas woke at 5am for a feed then went back to sleep til 7.30, can't complain at that!!
Sweet potato goes down quite well here too, not keen on apple but loves carrot & swede. going to try brocoli next I think.
I was sorting Thomas's clothes yesterday and digging out the 6-9month ones and have come across a lovley top that I had forgotten he had been bought but it is a 3-6month and he is in it just... such a shame must get more organised. Blush

FOR BLOCKED NOSES : We were sold "normal saline nasal drops", it's a little bottle, only 10ml. We put one drop up Evie's nose as directed, she was sick (I think it forced all the gunk down the throat and she sicked it up) but the night we gave it to her, she was able to breathe through her nose again.
I was dubious but it worked a treat!

Thanks for all the good wishes, 1st day back was fine, much easier than being at home with 2 wee ones!! The only thing is it's a political nightmare at the moment with redundancies, discrimination etc!!

Anyway I was "showing off" this mega rash I've got to a colleague, who recoiled in shock and said "That's Shingles!!!" Went to docs and I do have shingles, have been signed off a couple of weeks!! I didn't have 1 day sick during the whole of my pregnancy!!

It's a massive government department, so they wont even miss me!!The only thing is there is big union meetings etc going on this week. I've just joined recently as have 95% of the office Shock

Anyway hope all the wee ill babies are feeling better.

Good tip Elf. I'll have to remember that! I'm going to take it bad when Johnny gets ill. He's not had as much as a sniffle and I know he can't possibly get through his childhood without being ill .....Sad

RTL - glad your first day back wasn't too bad. Not glad to hear about your shingles Shock. Do you feel unwell or is it just(!) a rash?

I was speaking to my (young, free and single) sister yesterday and telling her how great being a Mum is. I started gushing a bit (which is SO not me) and I even told her that I miss Johnny when he is asleep. I think she thinks I've lost the plot - but do you know what? I don't care! I'll have to make the most of it before he turns into a toddler who I would gladly sell on ebay ShockWink

Mawbron don't feel ill at all, although I am infectious apparently. However have been feeling pretty crap the last couple of weeks, but don't you always when you've got 2 wee babies who don't sleep the night!! Wink

Changing the subject slightly, is there a Scottish meet-up soon, as I really need to pop up and it would be great if it coincided with a meet-up.

Is that the one on 22nd May in Edinburgh? I think I might be going to that one. It's the day my folks get back from their holiday and I thought I was going to have to collect them from the airport, but they have decided against leaving their car at our house as we got our windscreen smashed a couple of weeks back. That means that they won't need picking up from the airport and I can come to the meet.

Phew that was a long way round explaining! I could have just said "yes I think I'll be there" LOL

Mummygow - can you make it to this one?

RTL glad you aren't feeling ill with it, have you had shingles before?
MB pmsl at "toddler who I would gladly sell on ebay" Wink
I am ready for a bit of sun!! fed up of all this rain....soon be summer Smile
Thomas has started sleeping on his front, always put him down on his back but when we go to check on him 10 mins later he is always on his front. Tried turning him back the other night but he woke up as we did and he screamed the house down for 40mins!!

Evie has started doing 180 degree turns in her sleep so she lies width ways in the cotbed rather than lengthways. Bless. At least at the moment there is enough room for her to do so.
Getting fed up at the moment at work but never mind.
Evie very settled with the CM which is a good thing as I dont worry, but a bad thing as I hate the fact she doesn't miss me even half as much as I miss her!
