MB - no way it's me who should be impressed - this was one of those one off days - you are dressed by 8am every morning!!

mawbroon · 21/03/2006 13:30

I dug out the high chair from the loft this morning. It's second hand so needs a bit of a clean, but I couldn't resist popping Johnny in it for a second! He loved it Grin and I bet he loves it even more when he begins to associate it with food! I am pleased that he is doing so well, but I am a bit sad that my baby is so grown up already! Time to have another......erm, not quite yet!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder how elf is getting on!!!!

mummygow · 21/03/2006 15:35

mb they do grow up so quick - my sister is buying me (well Cameron) a high chair next week, I cant wait so that he can sit and play with his toys on the tray!

Yokefleet · 21/03/2006 16:25

I know what you mean about them growing up so quick, Thomas is 6 months old next Monday and I do miss the walks with him in the pram (he is now in the stroller part of it and I can't see himSad) I am so so tired at the moment am just hoping that Thomas will have a little nap soon so that I can get my head down too! Smile just a quick hello, going to make tea in a minute how are everyones little ones doing x booking ds christening tommorow, anyone else done that
Yokefleet · 21/03/2006 16:51

red we aren't having Thomas christened but I think Elf has and I am sure someone else has too but can't remember who! Did you try the teething powders? is your little one still suffering?

Elf1981 · 21/03/2006 19:14

red - I had Evie christened in February. We had a small family christening at the church where I got married, then we had a lunch for family members and godparents at our local (everybody paid for themselves). Then we had a party in the evening (from 5 onwards) at a local social club which was great. All in all it cost £300ish but that included room hire and food (from big families so had about 70 people there!!) It was a lovely day, even if Evie slept for nearly all the party!

As you can see, I survived the first day back! Naff day at work, took half the day to get the system working and sorting out all my expired passwords and things that weren't working, so I ended up doing only about two minutes work! My stuff is a bit of a mess so it's going to take me ages to get it all sorted out.
Evie went to toddler group with the childminder and had a go in a baby walker and apparently really loved it. We were thinking of getting her one but I wasn't sure if she would like it, but according to the CM she was sat in it for about 40 mins (feet not touching the floor!) playing with the toys and being pushed around by a 12yr old the CM had with her as well! I'm glad she seemed to enjoy herself, but a bit sad I wasnt there.
Nice to see I have a good dose of mummy guilt!
Evie also has a cold at the moment, she sounds like a little ground hog when I am feeding her!

Piggiesmum · 21/03/2006 20:37

MG - glad you're having a better day.

Elf - Must seem really strange being back at work, glad you survived lol. I'm sure you'll soon get back into it.

Ds only woke twice last night hurrah (having a really dodgy unsettled period at the moment) and seemed alot more settled today so I'm hoping he'll sleep well again tonight.

We are off to the in-laws this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it but dreading him being unsettled there. I have started making a list of things to take for him cos I know if i leave it till the last minute i'll forget something. It'll be somethng really important but that we take for granted and don't think about it, like the monitor or something!!!

Elf1981 · 22/03/2006 06:49

Poor Evie has a god awful cold. last night the longest stretch of sleep she had was for an hour and a half. We tried vapor rub but it didn't seem to clear her nose. She ended up sleeping in her baby bouncer as it's fairly upright. The CM said she will take her with a cold, but I'm going to ask her to phone me if she gets any worse and I'm coming home. Poor thing, she's starting to struggle to feed as her nose is blocked so badly :(

Elf, thanks for the info on christenings, going to have party in function room, got to book church, want ds christened in May/June.
Ds had cold last- Karvol I used to help him breath better, put some on a hanky and tied it on the end of his crib-did the trickSmile
hope evie is feeling better soon

Yokefleet · 22/03/2006 07:21

Elf Hope Evie is feeling better today and glad you survived your working day!! RE Walker Thomas loves it, he can only go backwards though!! Grin
Piggiesmum I always write a list in the week before we go to Yorkshire but you can guarantee that on Friday morning when it comes to packing I can NEVER find the list!!!
Better night here for us, Thomas has been feeding at least twice a night for ages now usually bout 1am a and 4ish but I woke at 3 and couldn't here him on the monitor so went to check on him (still breathing [releaved emotion]) he woke at 3.30 fed til 3.50 then slept until he heard his dad in the shower at 6.30 BLISS Grin after the previous bad night with him last night was a god send!!

mummygow · 22/03/2006 08:03

PM hope you are getting organised - it's like a flitting just to go somewhere GrinHow did
How did ds sleep last night?

Elf glad everything went o.k yesterday and that Evie had fun, funny my cousin just phoned yesterday and asked did I need a walker - I do as I cant remember what I did with Jessica's - quite excited about getting it as I remember Jessica loved hers!! Hope she is feeling better too.

YF glad you had a better night - what a difference some sleep can make!!
How id dh getting on in his new job?

Red hope ds feeling better this morning.

MB how are you and Johnny this morning (nearly dressed I bet - lol)Hope you are well and still not thinking of having another yet!!

In saying that though both my friend and cousin both became pregnant when there first (same time I had Jess) was 3 months, so now they are 2 and 3 (nearly 3 and 4) - all the hard work was at once but I have started all over again!!

Anyway how is everyone else, not seen LOADS of you around for ages - hope you are all o.k and lo's doing well.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 22/03/2006 08:10

WEll im here! I tend just to lurk really as never seem to have 5 mins to catch up with you all!

Time has gone so quick!

Becky is 22 weeks now - and finally got her 3rd lot of jabs this afternoon (Ive been a bit slack with them!)

DH has been off sick up from when BEcky was born until yesterday, so only just now trying to find myself a routine with two little ones demanding my attnetion for 10 hours a day! 8am-6pm goes SO slow!

No rolling/sitting or anything here.... I think Becky is going to be lazy like her big sister was. Solids is going well, 1 meal a day for just over a week now.

mawbroon · 22/03/2006 08:47

Elf glad you made it through the first day ok. It's bad enough going back to work after a fortnights holiday regarding the systems etc, so it must be a nightmare after 6 months. I hope that Evies cold clears up. Waking every couple of hours at night is not what you need when you are faced with a day at the office.

LOL MG. I was indeed dressed by the time you posted. I am triple tasking here - feeding Johnny, eating my cereal and posting on MN!! I haven't put my lenses in yet though but I have put on a washing. But you have to remember that I only have one child to deal with at the moment.

I do lists for going away too Piggiesmum, but I find there is very little that can actually be packed before the last minute as you really need so much of the stuff right up until you go. And every trip away requires different stuff as the baby grows up so it's not like you can make an all inclusive list that does all occasions.

I was lying in bed last night and I could feel rumblings in my tummy. I think it was wind from all the crap that I ate yesterday Blush but I had my hands on my tummy and was almost willing it to be a baby in there. I need to either get a grip of myself or else just get on with it and have another one......Shock

It's a beautiful day here, so I think we will head out for a walk once the chores are done. I am feeling full of beans as Johnny has slept 7pm to 7am for four nights out of the last five which means full nights sleeping for me. Grin

Yokefleet · 22/03/2006 08:57

mg dh likes his new job the only problem with it is that it is too far away really, costing us a fortune in fuel (80miles each way) luckily he has had only one really bad drive home which took 5 1/2hrs (usually 1 1/2) so he is still looking nearer to home but we will have to see what happens. I just try to get all the chores etc done during the week before he gets home so that on weekends it is free time just for dh to enjoy with time with Thomas Smile
j&rm good to see you back
mb last night dh put his hand on my tummy and said that this time last year we were having our 1st scan (where has the time gone!!) Can you send us some nice weather our way (South Wales) as it is grim at the moment!!

Yokefleet · 22/03/2006 09:00

oh oh oh forgot to mention that Thomas (if laid down) will now lift his arms up to meat my hands when I go to pick him up [grin}

Yokefleet · 22/03/2006 09:01

doh....meet not meat! and it should have been Grin

Blimey - just had Joey weighed after his baby massage session, and He now weighs 18Ibs 12oz! That means he's gained 1Ib 5oz since he was last weighed by them 3 weeks agoShock. And he's going through a growth spurt again - he wolfed down his normal 3 purees yesterday, was still hungry so had some more, and then was up 3 hourly all night breastfeeding! I appear to be nurturing a michelin manGrin

Yokefleet · 22/03/2006 12:05

nm LOL at michelin man!! Grin

Elf1981 · 22/03/2006 12:58

just got off the phone with the childminder. She said Evie is fine, asleep in her car seat and she's put some snufflebabe on her chest & hung a bib on the carseat handle with some karvol on it. In the day you only notice she has a snuffly nose when she's feeding as she has to stop breathing through her mouth, and when she sneezes and a big lump of snot flies out. Lovely.
DH has just rang as well and he has been to the chemist, explained how Evie was and they have given him some drops to put up Evie's nose! He's been told it's suitable from three months, that you put one drop up one nostril and see how it goes, then another up the other nostril. It's supposed to dry up the gunk up the nose. Not sure how we get the up her nose yet, DH was laughing imagining that we'd have to tip her upside down to do it!

Glad everybody is well!

Elf, Evie had bronchoilitis didn't she - I feel that Cameron catches everything that's going and he hates when the cold air catches his throat! I just keep saying that I cant wait until he is 6 months and when April ends as all the hospital kept telling me was that they can fight it between 6 months to a year and the bronchoilitis season is from October to April - hope she gets better soon!!

mawbroon · 22/03/2006 13:41

LOL Elf, I can't imagine trying to put drops up the nose, I hope that she doesn't get too upset by it.

Morning naps seem to have gone out the window here. Johnny was showing all signs of being knackered at 10am but resisted going to sleep until midday despite the normal nap time routine and a darkened room. He is still sleeping now (an hour and a half later) but I don't think I'll let him sleep past 2.30pm. He might have a little snooze later in the afternoon too, but I doubt it. I really don't think that he is sleeping enough through the day, but I don't know what else to try...... If he's given up on his morning naps then I may as well start going out in the mornings and be done with it. The thing is, next week his majesty will have decided that he wants to sleep at different times again!!!
