Yes that sounds like them, they are blue and yellow. I haven't looked in JL actually, I am avoiding it like the plague at the moment because I always end up spending loads in there - plus the first wedding is still a month away and I do not want to buy some and then have to buy more if his feet grow in that time!
I massively resent forking out repeatedly for footwear, and you can't even use them again on the next child like you can with expensive good quality clothes. Grin

chillikat · 24/01/2012 15:38

NotBobbysGirl have you considered tights instead of socks? We've had M in tights most of winter. I just got some M&S crawler tights with re-inforced knees. And currently she's not got trousers on afetr throwing up massively at the singing group :( (which reminds me I really need to change these jeans now)

Good luck with the job hunt MrAli.

I've been into work today to hand in my flexible working and return to work stuff. After a chat with my supervisor it seems I can't start work as early as I need to get in my hours and be on time for nursery pick up. Now to phone nursery to see if they're flexibel with finish time...

Cyclebump · 24/01/2012 16:01

H has a pair of these. They come in fleece finish or showerproof and they're fab! He's never shaken them off, we love them!

Booties

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/01/2012 16:41

Cycle those are cute as hell Grin

DH got the job! GrinGrin

OutMeAndDie · 24/01/2012 16:52

Thats Fab news Ali congrats MrAli.

DairyBeetle · 24/01/2012 20:28

Yay, congrats MrAli!

Miserable weather here too today, I got soaked walking to work, right through to my knickers! Thankfully my DSis was off back north today so was able to drop some dry clothes into work for me on her way to the train. Still, 9am meeting was rather damp and uncomfortable!

Another vote here for the Moccis, I picked up a pair in the Boots sale at Christmas, £3.50 a pair Smile plus they're quite long which helps bridge the 'ankle gap' when S is in the sling. Though JKS I do like the mittens idea!!

Chilli hope you manage to sort things with the nursery.

Right, TMI ALERT I think something may not be quite right in the fanjo dept. I knew that my pelvic floor needed a lot of work but assumed I must have been doing some good as my SPD is so much better and my back is no bother now. However, the last couple of weeks I've noticed a heavy feeling, almost like I've but my mooncup or a tampon in slightly wrong. I fear it may be a prolapse, could that happen 9+ months after birth? Confused I'm going to have drag myself to the docs again I think.

Still no new name idea here...must think harder!

GlaikitFizzog · 24/01/2012 20:28

Whoop whoop Ali! Fantastic news.

I am offically knackered. I had a full on day at work learning all the new protocols and other stuff I shant bore you with. Then when I was in a meting withmy new manager DH called to say his train had been cancelled and I had to collect B. Cue my mad dash to pack up, log off and leave the building and drive like a bat out of hell home. Got to childminders just before six and she says "It;s ok I don't charge late fees, my policies just say that because I have too" She really is the loveliest person! Got home, had mince in the slow cooker, peeled potatoes and veg, emptied dishwasher, loaded dishwasher, emptied washing maching put in tumble drier/clothes horse, ate supper standing up while putting away shopping I bought during my lunch break then peeled more veg for pot of soup so B has something to eat tomorrow. I really need to mop the floors, but I actually can't summon the strength. I didn't realise the working mother malarky was so tough Grin.

We set up our new bed at the weekend and our new mattress is awful, so we are swapping back for out old one agaiN TONIGHT, HERE'S HOPING i GET A BETTER NIGTHS SLEEP TONIGHT. Fuck-a-doodle-doo, caps lock!

GsyGacheFiend · 24/01/2012 20:43

I am now suffering Mocci Envy Ilike as I can't possibly afford any at the moment. However I will show the website to my DM when she's round tomorrow and drop lots of hints about early birthday presents for P Wink

Loving all the new names, I may change if I can think of something Hmm

GsyGacheFiend · 24/01/2012 20:48

x posts fizz, sounds like you need some Wine too.

No idea about your heavy feeling dairy but if in doubt, have it checked out.

chillikat · 24/01/2012 20:52

Ohh, fizz sit down with some Wine if you can summon the strength. Yay for the childminder not charging late fees. It seems our nursery is the same as they had no problem with me picking M up 15 minutes later 3 days a week. I also pushed back her start date to just after Easter and confirmed that she'll get breakfast there :) It's all going too well.

Dairy having had CS I've no idea sorry :( it doesn't sound comfortable though.

My boobs are being weird today - they're a bit lumpy. M fed for 40 minutes at bedtime but there's still some lumpiness :( I'm hoping they might have a good leak in the night and sort themselves out Confused. If not it's boob group in the morning.

Nice one with the job MrAli :)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2012 21:22

Huzzah MrAli, well done Smile

Get ye to the doctors Dairy. I really don't know much about prolapse's but as soon as you mentioned your symptom, prolapse did spring to mind. Hopefully it will be a case of kegel's and you will be sorted. Maybe also get a rain mac that covers your bum?! Grin

Sounds like a full on day Fizz. Complete bummer about your new mattress. We had exactly the same thing and ended up buying a memory foam topper for our shiny new and expensive mattress Hmm

chilli - blocked duct maybe? Get massaging and feed whenever possible.

Sorry to have introduced you to Moccis, but they are bloody lovely aren't they Grin

I has woken up twice since going to bed. That is unheard of. I feel we may be in for a rough night Confused

chillikat · 24/01/2012 22:06

I suspect blocked duct I like. Left one feels fine after another feed. Right one still lumpy and that was the 40 minute feed side earlier :( I would also have expected it to leak when I was feeding from the left but nothing - I'll get massaging but it was mega feeding which worked last time. Now I'm hoping she'll wake a couple of times tonight Hmm

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 25/01/2012 00:29

I've name changed in honour of Mr Branagh, who will be directing the film version of said book starring Kate Winslet.
Some scenes are even going to be filmed on the island (i'm stupidedly excited Smile.)

I wonder if they'll be requiring any local 4 year old boys to play poor Guernsey children, I bet the local am-dram groups are receiving a sudden influx. Grin

À la perchoine.

OutMeAndDie · 25/01/2012 09:03

Advice pls ladies. As you know i was having twinges pretty much from conception. Yesterday i had pains similar to ligament but they were quite sharp at times. I dont remember hurting so soon earlier or as much. I'm worried its something sinister such as eptopic or being in the wrong place (my scar), or if it could just be cos i only had csec 8 months ago? There is no bleeding. And i have nausea so everything else is normal. I called the midwives at the hosp who said i would need to see my doctor who would refer me to gynae for an early scan perhaps. What to do? I dont want to be a worrier but when i saw my doc before i was preg to check it was ok to try, at first he said yes, then he called me and said he had spoken to gynae who 'advise' you wait a year. Obv its too late. But its got me worried.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/01/2012 09:05

Banjour, comme tchi que l'affaire va?

oooooooooh Ken and Kate, how fab Gsy. I can't wait. You'll be able to do some celeb spotting

As predicted, last nights sleep was SHITE. Up every hour and a half. It must be teeth ............

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/01/2012 09:12

It is probably all ok OutMe, but arrange a scan to put your mind at rest.

Maybe it is 'best' to wait a year, but not totally necessary. I have friends who have had 2 sections within a year.

{{hugs}}

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/01/2012 09:58

OutMe if they are happy to scan you then I would do it. When I was about 8 weeks with T I had loads of sharp pains and then some bleeding on and off, they scanned me at the EPU and it was such a relief. I did wonder at the time, and still do, whether a lot of the pain was imagined because I was paranoid about my scar from having DS1! I am sure everything is absolutely fine, but if they will scan you then take it :)

chilli how is the boob this morning?

ILike sympathies. We have got teeth going on here too, T is really unsettled (as per bloody usual frankly!) and the nappies are vinegary.

Right well DH doesn't have a job, the contract has been pulled so back to the search. Humph.

OutMeAndDie · 25/01/2012 10:21

Ive asked for the doc to call me. He isnt in today so calling at 11.20 tomorrow. I could have seen the other doc but she is useless and lets me self diagnose, doesnt even examine. The receptionist said to go to A&E if i get more pains etc

OutMeAndDie · 25/01/2012 10:22

Oh that's SHIT Ali

NotBobbysGirl · 25/01/2012 13:21

Aww Ali I was just coming on to say congrats too :( that's really crap. Hope DH finds something else soon.

OutMe Hope everything is ok and that you can get an early scan to put your mind at ease. I'm sure it'll all be fine, I remember imagining all sorts being wrong when I was having pains early on and that was without a CS scar to consider so hopefully it's just your mind doing over time.

Chilli Hope the boob is feeling a bit better today?

ILTMI Wish I'd checked MN before going shopping yesterday!! Shoes I linked to earlier have been bought!! We got a little picture and certificate to celebrate the occasion! I was looking at Mocc Ons on amazon after seeing another little boy with them on at nursery, think they're just the same as the Moccis you mentioned but cheaper and with much less variety! I still think R would manage to haul them off though, she even pulls at tights so much so that she has them half off too! Naughty baby. Hope her feet don't suddenly sprout now, she got a size 2 and her feet were only just big enough to fit into them so they should hopefully last a few months Hmm

Re: SIL situation. My mum spoke to her yesterday and she knows that all isn't right. She even mentioned PND herself. She also said she'd gone to her mums as she just wanted to be with her own family (totally understandable) so hopefully now things have been discussed, everything should improve a little bit.

OutMeAndDie · 25/01/2012 13:31

NBG thats good re sil. it's a weigh off eh to know she feels it, and good that she has wonderful caring inlaws!

Punchthosecalories · 25/01/2012 14:33

Arch here. (New name due to much needed increase in exercise)
Sorry it's a while since I posted. I've not been feeling myself recently for alsorts of reasons I wont bore you with.
I've been lurking for ages but for one reason or another felt struck dumb.
I wanted to say congratulations to OutMe and to Fizz well done for getting through those first few days back at work. Ali I hope your DH gets a bit of luck soon, what a let down over the job :(
Bobby's The shoes look lovely :)
Hope I've not missed anyone!

chillikat · 25/01/2012 16:45

Boob is ok today, because like ILike we were also up every hour and a half to 2 hours [yawn]. I don't think she's teething - no drool, no sign of more teeth. I blame only an hours nap and not much food yesterday. Unfortunately today hasn't been much better (why does FIL always manage to find just the wrong time to phone/call round?).

How much does everyones baby eat? M tends to do ok with baby porridge or mini weetabix for breakfast but other meals are hit and miss, mainly miss. Part of each tends to be finger food but she just bites bits off then spits it out. She'll also spit out lumpy purees, though the Ellas Kitchen Oaty Crumble is popular. I'm considering going back to stage 1 just to get her to eat something Hmm Any suggestions? Should I just keep going and stop worrying?

Arch hope you're ok.

Hope nothing too hideous Punch.

That sucks Ali, hope your DH finds something soon.

Harumph. DH decided not to go to rugby training and is totally disrupting my plans for MNing and OBEM. Outrageous.
