OOoo I like these names...think I'll have a think and try a new one on myself. Grin

My DSis is visiting till tomorrow so we've had a lovely day pottering around bookshops while S slept in the sling. I bought a copy of the No Cry Sleep Solution in the hope that some of the ideas help us. S has been better >touches all wood in the room< the last couple of nights but still will not settle in his cot. Given the positions he's sleeping in DH and I are both ending up crippled and aching by morning!

Oh, and the big news, S is finally, started crawling!! He does seem to keep forgetting what to do and then gets frustrated but at least he's figured it out!

Hopefully I'll get chance to post tomorrow while having a rest at work

Quickly waves to a certain lurking granny Wink Grin

OutMeAndDie · 23/01/2012 20:12

IamNotWhoYouThinkIam · 23/01/2012 21:45

Aww Fizz you didn't need to have the post deleted, I was just pulling your leg!! Nevermind I am super top secret now!!

Lurking granny is loving all the attention, she text me earlier to say - tell Fiz I'm waving back!!

I'm already confused by the other name changes, it won't take me long to forget who everyone else is!!

MumToTiny · 23/01/2012 21:48

Oh Lordy, now I've got no idea who anyone is! Can someone update who's who on FB please? Pretty please? Wink

Might just join the name change gang... If I can think of one that is! Have realised my schoolgirl error in having a 'Mum' name, but am not witty enough to come up with anything good Blush. Am musing on combinations which include tiny and sprout (T's nicknames - 1st from bump-dom, 2nd currently!).

Good luck for interviews MrAli!

GlaikitFizzog · 23/01/2012 21:49

Am so confused!

Tooth number five has arrived! Unfortunately though, it means six is on its way and H woke every hour last night. He didn't need tending until 4.45am but every hour I woke with the tense 'do I need to get up?' feeling Sad

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2012 09:48

Another one here who is confused. There should be a rule that only one person at a time is allowed to change their name. My old addled brain can't take it!

Especially as I am knackered. I didn't get to bed until 11.30 (I went to see War Horse - which was a bit, meh) then I woke at 5.15. I fed him and tried to settle him but he wasnt having any of it. So I brought him into bed where he bobbed on and off, clapped his hands, said 'dad dad' too many times to mention. At that I pointed I in dh's direction and dh took him downstairs while I had an extra hours kip.

Sympathies Cycle, I is a terrible teether too. DH casually said the other day 'can you imagine what he is going to be like with his molar's?', needless to say I got the fear just thinking about it.

The weather here is shit today. We all got soggy on the walk to pre school. MIL is coming over for a few hours to take I out for a walk, although I think I'll suggest she amuses him in the living room as the weather is so naff. Then I will catch up on some housework - I know how to live!

NotBobbysGirl · 24/01/2012 10:54

I have a question ladies.....where is the best place to get shoes for our LOs at this age? I know they don't really need shoes at this age but I'm worried that R's feet are cold when we're out and about and she constantly pulls her socks off too (we have many odd pairs now, which I'm making her wear as punishment for losing them!!) Would Clarks be a expensive safe bet?

OutMeAndDie · 24/01/2012 11:09

Cuteness. Get them. I have been putting Sam in 'pram' shoes but they still come off!

JKSLtd · 24/01/2012 13:30

I've found that the mittens that come in the sets with DD's hats work well as 'foot-gloves' Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2012 13:42

Tbh I really wouldn't bother with shoes until they are walking outside.

I know, I know. It's exciting buying shoes. But after the first couple of times of spending £40 on a pair of shoes that get grown out of in months, it gets annoying Grin

I'm not Clarke's greatest fan. I don't think they last and the designs are very blah - but that just may be the boys shoes. if you have any independent shoe shops, try them as they often have a better choice - ime.

If you are worried about them getting chilly, I love moccasins. H&M, Boots sell them and these are my all time favourites

Jojo also sell fleece booties which would do the trick.

So, I have gone from saying 'don't bother with shoes ' to 'xy & z are good' Grin I'm so fickle.

I am getting a cold and I can feel my sinuses getting blocked - grrrrr

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/01/2012 14:19

I didn't bother with shoes for DS1 until he was walking, socks stayed on his feet and he wasn't trying to pull himself up, then it was warm weather and he was walking by the October after his first birthday (July born) so then we bought him shoes.
I bought T a pair of 'cruisers' though back before Christmas because he was pulling himself up and it is too cold to have bare toes so he kept sliding around in his socks. He has also got a pair of little sheepskin things that are like slippers and they are so cute. I keep him in bare feet at home as much as I can, it is better for their feet and easier for them to balance, but he does wear his shoes when we go out.

ILike - DS1 has some quite nice dinosaur shoes from Clarks that he wears for preschool, the sole wraps up over the toes so it helps with the scuffing! I want to get him a nice pair of brown boots to wear to a bunch of weddings that we've got coming up in the next couple of months but I can't find anything I like.
I have bookmarked that mocci page - we are offically spending as little as possible until DH gets another job, but that will be one of the first places I visit once I unlock my debit card Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2012 14:38

Ali - are ds's shoes the ones that have an eye on the side and a skeleton on the sole? M has those too and I have to admit that they have worn really well although they are really wide and the strap has to be pulled so tight the shoe puckers up. When we bought those I was planning to get him some boots for winter, but he had a huge meltdown in the shop (I have no idea why) and to placate him I had to literally do a sales pitch on 'these lovely dinosaur shoes'. But on the same shopping trip I managed to get a pair of suede Hush Puppy desert boots for him for £10. They are lush Grin

The Moccis are pricey but they are really well made and they are machine washable. I Have kept M's old ones for I. My mum also has a pair instead of wearing slippers.

I just watched celebrity Big Brother while the boys were in bed. I love a good drunken fight but I feel slightly dirty for enjoying it. Anyone else watching or is it just me? Blush

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2012 14:40

Oh, and for the boots have you tried John Lewis and Jones? Start-rite sometimes have nice stuff too.
