Ok I'm back! Went on a bowling night after work! God it was boring! Home just in time to see B before bed! Thank crunchie tomorrow is my half day!

One of out neighbours had a baby in October, so I popped a christmas card through with my mobile number and said to come for a coffee sometime. So we are meeting up tomorrow! Yay!! Having B has really helped my shyness! I would never have done that before!

I've also realised just how much B loves me! He's given me his cold!!

My DH has gone to the pub quiz so I've tidied the front room (put all the toys away) and mopped the kitchen floor. Rock and rollGrin
Here's hoping for more than two hours at a time tonight.

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 25/01/2012 22:56

En amas bien, merci. ILTMI Voul-ous enne coupaïe d'thee? Brew Smile

Bad luck about the job Ali, pulling the contract after offering the job is just absolute pants. Angry

chilli don't backtrack on the foods, keep a good mix of textures. Spitting out is fine. I sometimes worry that P's diet is a bit limited as she only got her first tooth at 9months and shows no signs of anymore yet. She often steals bits off DS' plate and although she can't chew them properly she'll suck on it and give it a go before hurling it back across the table. As long as M's still taking milk and not getting distressed about it just soldier on. As they say on the BLW threads Food should be fun until one. Hmm the food may be, but the cleaning up certainly isn't Grin

NotBob Glad things are out in the open and looking up for your SIL.

Welcome back Arch Smile

OhFraktiousTree · 26/01/2012 04:50

Argh everyone's different! I need a new name too I think I'm over frak. It's been my core name for a few years but I fancy a change. Or maybe I'll change permanently when we move in July.

Makes namechecking difficult on the app but glad the SIL situation has been resolved, Sad for poorly boobs, don't worry about food (M has discovered pizza), très exciting about the film and if that's Guernesiaise I want to learn! The only Norman French phrase I know is J'sis d'charme but that was a Jerseyman who taught me that so it may be akin to swearing Wink

OhFraktiousTree · 26/01/2012 04:52

Oh and mrali that's really unfair. Hope he gets a lovely new job soon and then you can buy moccis

Cyclebump · 26/01/2012 07:14

Yet antihero morning that started at 5.25am. H is waking at that time nearly every miring. I'm sure it's habit now, but how to break it?

Any ideas ladies?

OhFraktiousTree · 26/01/2012 08:14

What time does he go to bed? What's his daytime sleep like? Is he being disturbed by light or noise outside? It might be there's a direct cause you can fix.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/01/2012 10:34

Lovely cuppa thanks Gsy Grin

Hi Arch, I hope you are ok, I was thinking about you only the other day.

That is utterly shit Ali, fingers crossed there is something else around the corner.

I is an early riser too Cycle All of my boys have done early rising at one point or another and then have stopped doing it for whatever reason.

I've just watched last night OBEM. I cried at both births, but especially at Trisha. She is such an inspirational woman, and the way her and her husband are so devoted to each other and their little girl

Cyclebump · 26/01/2012 10:41

I too got teary on OBEM. Especially as I had to POAS yesterday. I'm exhausted all the time, forgetful and have had a few other funny signs. It was negative and, while I was relieved as it would be awful timing, I was also weirdly disappointed.

Hadn't thought something might be waking him at that time, I wonder if it's the sunrise, he's at the front of the flat and the sun comes through his window first. Hmmmmmm

GlaikitFizzog · 26/01/2012 13:15

Oh OBEM caught me off guard and I spent most of the next hour in tears.

Cycle I had that too the other week!! A combination of relief and disappointment!!

Can anyone tell my if their SPD flares up when they have AF? My hip popped last night when bowling and it's agony today, but I'm not sure if its SPD or I've done soemthing else. Will my body ever be the same again?

NotBobbysGirl · 26/01/2012 15:10

R has taken to waking up early this week too Cycle although not as early as H thankfully. Not sure why she's doing it and sun doesn't come up on her side either. Was thinking that maybe she needs to go to bed earlier at night (sounds a bit backwards doesn't it!) but she seems to sleep longer when she goes to bed earlier!? Current bed time is 7.30 but by 7 I think she would happily go down then. My only worry is that she has tea at 5pm and it's a very short time from then til bedtime and I don't know if she would take her bedtime feed. What does everyone else do between tea and bed time and what times etc?

Fizz I am the complete opposite to you and have become a virtual recluse since having R!! Hoping work will sort me out again. I've lost the art of small talk and am very aware of not making enough eye contact when talking to people!

Chilli Did you get a better sleep last night?

OutMe How are you feeling today?

Punch/Arch I was wondering where you'd gone too. Hope things are ok :)

Not much to report here, R at nursery today which I'm a bit sad about as this is my last full week of maty leave. In precisely 7 days time I will be at work!!!! :(:(:(

Fraktal · 26/01/2012 18:26

Name tweak Grin

chillikat · 26/01/2012 20:57

Not much better sleep last night :( still waking every couple of hours. We've resorted to trying the saline nasal spray tonight to see if that loosens the snot a bit. I think that's why she's not sleeping well.

M has tea with us about 6ish, sometimes slightly later. We generally start bedtime about 7.15 and she's having a bedtime feed by 7.45 so not too much time between tea and bedtime. But as I was saying yesterday I don't think much gets eaten.

Thanks for the advice Gsy I got a stage 1 jar and she refused that too. I've realised today it's not the texture of the food she's rejecting, but the flavour. She's only really eating sweet stuff - as she wolfed down the jar of banana and mango rice pudding and was doing ok with melon and strawberries as finger food. So rather than give her a jar or pouch of pudding each evening after offering her what we're having as finger food we're going to mix it up and sometimes offer something savoury.

Here's hoping for better sleep again, and no early wake ups.

JKSLtd · 26/01/2012 21:09

My DC have tea at 5ish and bed about 7. DD manages to throw lots on the floor enjoy tea, and have a feed at 7.

OutMeAndDie · 26/01/2012 21:14

I'm ok thanks nbg. doc called and said it's too early for ligament pain. Said could be implantation but I think its too late for that. He said as long as there isn't bleeding and vomiting not to worry. Tbh the pains haven't been as bad since.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 26/01/2012 23:13

Evening All,

Sorry to hear about the job Ali - I was just about to pop on to congratulate your DH, when I spotted that post.

Arch, hope all is ok with you.

OutMe, hope you're doing ok too.

Cycle, given that you've been posting about H's sleep, I'm not surprised you're exhausted & forgetful!

Chilli, hope your nights improve. I've just got the saline spray out again, too.

We've been ok here. We had 4 sleep-through's last week, but none since Friday night.

I put F down earlier, and he's just woken up with an awful sounding cough.

I've had a google, I think he might have croup.

He's gone back to sleep now. Should I do anything in particular tonight? It seems it's viral, so presumably can't go to the childminder tomorrow.

I just need reassurance really and Confused

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/01/2012 08:20

A croup cough sounds like a barking seal, it's very distinct. It also gets worse at night and when they are upset/distressed.

Afaik croup is a mutation of the cold virus, but I don't know if you actually pass croup on or just the cold - iyswim.

I hope F feels better soon. Luckily M has only had it mildly, and that was bad enough.

Glad to hear the pains are better OutMe.

We have tea at 5.15, bath at 6, feed at 6.45, then in the land of nod at 7.

I take it you're not looking forward to returning to work Bobby? is it the thought of working again or leaving R, or a bit of both? It's quite easy to lose your confidence I find. It's one of the reasons why I have always done voluntary work since I left work.

I've not SPD Fizz, but even with people who haven't had it it can take up to 6 months for the relaxin hormones to settle. So it wouldn't surprise me if it takes longer for SPD sufferers to return to 'normal'.

NotBobbysGirl · 27/01/2012 09:06

Not really ILTMI mainly because I don't want to leave R but also because my work is crap at the mo as my boss is an idiot! 4 people have left since I've been on ML which is saying something as up until our new boss started we had basically had the same staff for the last 5 years!!

My friends little girl has had croup before UBW and she was given steroids and admitted to hospital!? However my mum was telling me that I had it when I was a baby and the advice in those days was to steam the baby much like you would do if they had a cold, so running a very hot shower/tap and standing in the bathroom to open up the airways a bit, think it's the constriction that causes the bark. Not sure if there are viral and bacterial strains which may mean different treatment. Might be worth investigating?

OutMe Glad the pains are a bit better and hope you're still feeling nice and sick (in the nicest possible way of course!) :)

Good to know other evening routines are much the same as mine. Didn't get a chance to try earlier bedtime yesterday as R was knackered when I picked her up from nursery so she needed a little nap directly after her tea, she would never have lasted til 7 as she only napped 2-2.30 in the afternoon Hmm Once again had a full set (and a half) of clothes to wash after nursery :( getting a bit annoyed when I go in everyday and she's been changed because her dirty nappy has leaked. It never leaks at home, probably because she's changed as soon as shes done it. I understand that they have about 10 other kids to deal with but even so. I was told before I put her in there that they didn't have a good rep for nappy changing!

Cyclebump · 27/01/2012 10:53

Do they use the same nappies as you do at home Bobby? H leaks through pampers but not Sainsburys Eco and other friends have similar brand issues with some fitting better than others.

Ok, so I'm going to moan, feel free to turn away...

I feel like CRAP! Exhausted and low with continual low level period pain. It's heavy (very unusual for me) and I'm on Cerazette so never usually come on. WTAF? To add to my guilt at not playing with H with any kind of gusto and lying on the sofa being pathetic, he's being super cute and so, so good. Am undeserving of such a lovely baby [wail]

Cyclebump · 27/01/2012 10:55

Ok, have pulled myself together. Phew!

GlaikitFizzog · 27/01/2012 11:08

I'm with you on the couch cycle. I am in agony with Af this time. Nothing is touching it and every time I cough or sneeze I think my innards are going to fall out.

My mum and dad are staying tonight after the get back from 3 weeks in tenerriffe (I can never spell it right) and the house us a tip.

I need to pull myself together too!

OP posts:
Cyclebump · 27/01/2012 11:42

Yours sounds way worse than mine Fizz, I just get all depressed and low. They're your parents, they can live with mess!

GlaikitFizzog · 27/01/2012 11:47

My mumsnet nickname is Monica. even my very clean and tidy isn't up to her standards. I could pretend there us a power cut when they arrive, send them to bed, then wake them in the morning telling them we've been burgled? I've just given b a packet of wipe to play with as none of his toys are suitable apparently!

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 27/01/2012 11:48

Mums not mumsnet. I thought id done well noticing tidy had come out as tits!!

JKSLtd · 27/01/2012 13:14

Cycle - I feel obliged to tell you, Cerazette is known as causing all sorts of upset in lots of women. But docs often don't tell you. Search on here for threads about it and decide. I was on it after DS2 and was miserable, not myself, near-depression, moody, anxious, all sorts. I stopped and felt normal within a few weeks.
May not be that but worth thinking about...

Watching Andy Murray while DD naps, lovely.
Really I should have taken my book outside for some solar-recharging but the tv + sofa won :)
