Fizz go for it with the CM. I would chew my own arm off for some childcare for T at the moment!

Kitty - nice to have you back!

We got the school we wanted for DS1! Grin Really chuffed Grin

Fizz go for it. I'm coming up to holidays and going to have baby free time to go and do stuff seeing as we have the childcare anyway!

I have my eye on a sand/water activity table, and a toddler slide/climbing frame thing and a little trampoline with handle. That's the major family members covered.

M is playing with cars. It's so sweet....

Suggestions:

April 2011- Babies turning one means more shopping to be done!

April 2011 - in which the babies discover cake and birthday presents

April 2011 - one year on and we're still talking about sleeping, feeding and nappies, some things never change

Good, suggestions Frak, how about a mention of our forthcoming hot topics Toddling, more teeth and major tantrums.

Fizz shame you won't be visiting. Definately use your CM during your hols. I felt guilty that DS carried on going to nursery holiday club when I had a week off at Easter, but like you it's already paid for. It was nice to spend a bit more one on one time with DD and get some bits done at home too.

I've managed 2 Shock trips to the cinema in one week. We took DS to see Pirates V Scientists for his birthday at the weekend. Last night I went to see The Hunger Games with DH. It's times like this that I really appreciate the good relationship we have with both sets of GP's and the fact that they both live less than 15min away.

Glad you've got the school you wanted for DS Ali. Smile Here you don't have a choice unless you go private or are Catholic so it makes it simple for us, DS will be going to the primary 5 minutes walk up the road.

DD gave me & herself a scare this morning, she managed to tip over her chair during breakfast! Not sure how she did it & also not sure how she managed not to seriously hurt herself.
A small mark on one cheek and lots of tears but she was fine.
Have moved her booster seat to a carver chair instead which seems more solid - think we used it on that before with the boys so not sure why it was on a normal chair anyway.

difference between birth order:
DS1 - invited both sets of GPs, lots of friends, near & far, big deal 1st birthday party
DS2 - met up with friends in London for museum trip & meal out
DD - just booked church hall now for tomorrow, have baked a cake, and texted some friends who might be free after school for a 'non-party' Blush
oops!

Frak - i'm happy with anything really

Definitely use childcare in holidays!! We book DS1 into a holiday club one day a week most weeks - he sees different friends there from school anyway so it's good to keep in touch with them. Gives us a day with just 2 at home :)

What a fright JKS - thank goodness DD is ok.

Loving all the title suggestions but agree that toddling, teeth and tantrums is rather apt!

We're not doing anything for DD's birthday apart from seeing the grandparents for pressies and cake. I feel like a bit of a neglectful mummy now Blush

Chilli Your festival looks great! Can I come? Grin Anyone know if you can you take kids to Glastonbury?! I've always wanted to go, might ask DP if we can go for my 30th next year!

Cyprus is lovely ILTMI I've been a few times, infact DP & I went the year I got pregnant so we weren't really planning on going back so soon, tried persuading our friends to get married somewhere else like Mauritius of the Carribean but they weren't having it! The only thing I will say is it's quite expensive when you're there so if you're not going all inclusive take lots of spending money with you.

Fizz Definitely take full advantage of the CM!! R is at nursery today despite me being off and I've got loads done. Unfortunately I seem to be off most days she is at nursery which defeats the point. So we are considering taking her out as it's costing us £150 a month for 1 day a week and it isn't really helping us in terms of childcare but I know she really enjoys it and it's nice to have a day to myself so I'm not sure what's for the best.

R's birthday is in 6 days time and after saying I wasn't having a big thing for it, we are actually doing loads!! My friends and their babies are coming on the actual day for a wee picnic lunch, then my parents are coming at night for tea. On the Thursday we are going for tea at DPs mums and then on the Sunday we are having a little party so that all DPs sisters and kids and anyone else can come and see her too! I have a feeling I'll be exhausted by the Monday! But probably better to do it all in little bits so that R isn't too overwhelmed by it all! STILL haven't got her anything yet except clothes but think I'm going to wait until afterwards and see what she gets from other people first - is that really miserly!!??

I'm going to name change back too Kitty never really took to NBG!

chillikat · 19/04/2012 14:21

NBG of course you can join us - though it's an even longer drive for you. Didn't one of our group live round Devon way? Maybe we can drop in if the weather is grim.

I like the idea of forthcoming hot topics in the next title.

Love it!

Oh no jks!!

Advice needed. I've gone and got my heart set on a bassinet for kitten. I'd wanted a glider crib as we are planning on having baby in with us longer than we did s so s will then go into a bed and kitten the cot. But a friend today said baby could be sitting up in 4 months (s was- tho not for long or in bed). Am also thinking maybe I should avoid rocking this time but will I do what I gotta do / what works. What to do?s was in his cot about 3.5 months cos he was too big and jumpy for the basket ( and he's only short!)

kitty - we got a spacesaver cot from Kiddicare so that T could stay in with us longer. He is still in it, although we are moving him to the big cot in 2 weeks time as he has outgrown it. It was a bargin, £90 with mattress I think?
I wouldn't get a glider, they don't last much longer than a moses basket. T was sitting up at 4 months and starting to pull up on the sides of things, so if your baby was doing that then you would have to move them into something else at that point.

Frak - good title!

Yeah do check, it has been brilliant for us. It is also incredibly light so very easy to move around, even with a sleeping baby in it!

If you do get it, then I have some specially sized fitted sheets that I had made for it that you can have.

Sorry I have filled the thread now!
