OutMe - best of luck for a successful appointment. There are times when an ELCS really is the best way to go and your previous experience sounds like one of those times. Have faith in yourself :)

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 16/04/2012 22:19

Good luck OutMe, warn your consultant that he'll have the April Army after him if he messes you around!

I've just had one of those "oh god I've got the horrific-death-plague" moments;
Watching embarrassing bodies, the lovely bit about the discharge. I thought it would be interesting, mines been a bit weird since having F.

So, it turns out discharge with a bit of blood is a symptom of cervical cancer. Fuck. I'm ringing the doc tomorrow.

Having calmed down a bit, I think I only get a bit at the beginning of a period, and it's only been 5 months since I had the coil fitted. So I'm trying not to panic.

I can't remember when I last had a smear test. Shit shit.

Please be reassuring!

OutMeAndDie · 17/04/2012 08:19

Thanks both.

ubw best to go doc for your own piece of mind but I reckon you are right and it's prob a combo of the coil and the start of your period. I'm pretty sure I spot a bit before mine starts.. Only had two since I got pregnant with s though! Good luck.

OutMeAndDie · 17/04/2012 09:43

LOVED Cyprus.

I'm down for an elective. Whoop. Will come back later when I've more time.

OutMeAndDie · 17/04/2012 14:28

So.
Con asked when S was born.
Was it a normal birth? No. emercency c sec, didnt progress, back to back, blood transfusion.
Was he big? 8.6 - big to me. Said my MW hadnt wanted me to go over.
How tall are you? 4.11.
Read my notes, said S wasnt that big. Then said what were my thoughts this time? I'd like an elective.
Yes that seems to be for the best. {writes short stature in notes]
Examines me - i hear kittens heartbeat. He says ok, come and see me at 34 weeks (stupid receptionist has booked me in mid july which is 4 weeks too early!!). I ask when i will know re elective and he says i have put you down for one.
whoop.
I might be having my baby 5 months today!! (date tbc)

chillikat · 17/04/2012 14:35

Excellent result Out Me sounds like a good consultant.

I've asked the nursery to try and discourage M having morning naps unless it's before 10. She had half an hour at 11 yesterday and wouldn't have an afternoon nap. She was really tired when i picked her up but is now fast asleep :) so I'm running round getting lots done.

We're booked to go to a festival in August - camping (!) but the 5 hour drive there is worrying me. Are we nuts? We're doing a practice camping trip closer to home in June/July to see how she does.

mumtomoley · 17/04/2012 14:47

Great result OutMe! That must feel like a big relief.

I think for my next one, I'd like to just pick it up at 6 months. If anyone knows a consultant who would agree that for me that'd be great!

G still needs 2 sleeps a day, some days at the childminders he just has one but is totally knackered and ends up sleeping for most of the days I have him to catch up!

However, G is being so unbelivably gorgeous at the moment. I think he must find the sound of his own laugh amusing as once he starts he keeps laughing away at nothing for ages. He has a proper dirty laugh as well... cracks me up. Nutty child, but v cute!

(Loved up Mummy)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/04/2012 14:48

Hello! Sorry I have been lame and not got on here much. Easter holidays combined with T using the house as an assault course has left me knackered!

OutMe - sounds good :)

Who was asking about milk intake? T feeds during the night, when he wakes up, at various intervals during the day - whenever he feels like it basically! I don't worry because he also demolishes vast quantities of food most days, but he is a big boy - 26lbs Shock!

Must go and pick DS1 up, back later!

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 18/04/2012 00:27

I'm back too Smile, and after both DC having their birthdays in quick sucession my entire house resembles the messy toy corner of the charity shop. I'm trying to get rid of some of it when DS isn't looking. Have put some away to regift and thrown out the really high quality stuff like the fake lego that doesn't stick together properly.

Fizz Just saw your post about your work trip to my fair isle. It'd be lovely to meet up for a drink if you're able. Grin WineWine Grin.

Outme Great news about the sunroof.

NotBobbysGirl · 18/04/2012 04:30

Yay OutMe excellent news!

Oooh ILTMI when are you going to Cyprus and which area? We are going to Paphos at the end of June, no R tho as it will be faaaar too hot for her and me then. Not our choice btw, for a friends wedding, we wouldn't intentionally go abroad and leave R at home!!

Agree with your smear advice too. I've had the lady garden nasties before and it wasn't v. nice, thankfully it was all caught and removed just before turning into anything more serious, still scared the shit out of me tho - I was only 22! You should definitely get booked for your smear asap UBW but please try not to panic in the mean time :)

Chilli I'm curious about your festival in August, given that I've only ever been to some pretty wild ones in my younger years, I'm wondering where you go that you can take a baby along to!!??

Naps are a hit & miss here just now, sometimes it's an hour am & pm, sometimes its 2 hours in the morning and and hour in the afternoon and sometimes it's half an hour here and there!! Nursery days completely upset the routine! I have asked them to try and keep to the 2 naps per day routine for now as they were skipping the morning one and putting her down for her afternoon one at 1pm so she was up by 2ish and then impossible from 5pm til bed time.
On a positive note, we've gone from 6am wakings last week to 8am long lies this week!! Pity I've been on nightshift so not been able to appreciate it! Long may it continue.

1st Birthday - 1 week today!! Aargh!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/04/2012 07:53

I didn't realise you are so petite outme, we would look like little and large as I am a foot taller than you Grin Very chuffed that you got the result you wanted Smile

I liked your suggestion of picking them up at 6 months moley Grin

We're off to Paphos in mid June Bobby! I haven't been to the island before and I'm looking forward to some sunshine. We're hiring a car and planning to explore the island.

The camping and festival sound great chilli. friends of ours take their 1yo dd to a couple of festivals a year and they all love it.

Why oh why to people buy things like fake Lego? It irritates the crap out of me.
I'm hosting a coffee morning today and my house is a shit tip. I should really go and tidy up, rather than be on here .......

OutMeAndDie · 18/04/2012 08:51

Lol Ilike

Terrible night with S. He didnt sleep yest afternoon and then only slept for 25 mins in the car on the way home. He cried / screamed for about half an hour when we got in. I tried teething gel and put him to bed early but still he screamed. he eventually cuddled up on my lap. Is it possible he was sulking cos he hadnt seen me til yest eve as DH took him out in the am? Then he woke at 230am screaming. Tried resettling him. Nope. Tried calpol and teething gel and resettling. Nope. Bought him in with me and he was having night terrors again. Eventually he calmed down and fell asleep. Tired :(

Hope you are all ok.

Fraktal · 18/04/2012 08:55

Oh boo for the rubbish night outme but big yay for the nice consultant! I'm glad you got what you wanted Smile

ilike my house is a tip but thankfully I'm not hosting a coffee morning!

Nbg enjoy baby free Cyprus.

Big news here is that DS has sort of started walking independently! Just in time to beat his first birthday Wink he still prefers crawling though Hmm

Fraktal · 18/04/2012 08:56

Just had to check who was also cyprus-ing and who was crazily festival camping!

ilike hope you have a wonderful sunny time

chilli I hope it doesn't rain for you. My abiding memories of camping are of rain and being permanently damp!

OutMeAndDie · 18/04/2012 09:22

Thanks Frak Fab news re walking :)

Nearing new thread time :)

Think i am going to revert to kitty as i am now 'out'!

Kittycatcat · 18/04/2012 09:32

Kitty is back :)

chillikat · 18/04/2012 14:33

We're going to the Beautiful Days festival. We go most years, missed last year as we thought M was too young and one year when we were doing the bathroom up. This year we'll be in the family camping area (closer to the car park so not as far to drag everything :) ). There's always lots of kids activities and it's very family friendly. I'm just hoping the weather is too - one year it was just a mud slick and not much fun. Everyone got stuck in the car park field and eventually tractored out. We've also been to Bearded Theory which is really small and also lots of family stuff but it's in May and can be really cold, especially in a tent. The first year we went there was a mini tornado which blew the main stage down!

We have some walking here too - she's getting more confiendent and doing more steps but the day :)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/04/2012 21:07

That's better Kitty Grin

Hurrah for walking babies! I did think Baby I was on his way to walking unaided, but now I'm not so sure. Mind you, ds2 walked on his own completely out of the blue, so who knows?!

I am just watching Divine Woman on the tv, they are talking about Aphrodite. In two months time I will be staying a short walk from where Aphrodite walked out of the sea

I like the idea of camping, but the reality of it is somewhat different. My sister and her family camp in a trailer tent, which I think is a good compromise. We will do it at some point, as kids love it.

Starshaped · 18/04/2012 21:18

I am definitely not a natural camper - I think I'd need another holiday just to recover from a camping holiday with DD in tow Grin

DD is also making tentative steps towards walking independently. She sets off on her own and takes a few steps before she seems to realise what she's doing and sits down in shock!

We've still not got a clue what to buy for a birthday pressie for her. I've stupidly given all my ideas out to other people. Three weeks to go- we need some inspiration!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/04/2012 21:26

Toys for outside Star?

GlaikitFizzog · 18/04/2012 21:29

Welcome back Kitty Wink! Much prefer that NN!

I have a question. I have some holidays from work coming up. Is it bad to still put B to the CM? We will still have to pay her if he's not there and I probably wouldn't put him in for the full time he'd normally be there. I just feel guilty. But then part of me quite fancies just having a day I can mooch about, do some shopping, clean etc. They really don't warn you about the guilt do they :).

GSY I don't think I'm going now as they are flying on a non work day for me :( and the logistics were turning into a bit of a nightmare. It's a shame because I would have loved to meet up with you. There is always a chance I'll get another chance to go.

OP posts:
Kittycatcat · 18/04/2012 21:42

[puuuuuuurr] feels good

Do it fizz. esp if you have to pay anyway!!

mumtomoley · 18/04/2012 21:50

Star we go G www.elc.co.uk/Wooden-Activity-Cube/130574,default,pd.html and also a trike, and have asked for outdoor stuff from other people if that helps. The trike we got is a 3 in one job so I can steer him about with a big long handle now and then in a few years he can pedal. I figure it's the sort of thing he'll grow into throughout the year.

The activity cube is just something that I can totally see him playing with.. he likes just fiddling with stuff for aaggess and so far seems to be a success.

fizz definitely not bad to still take him to the CM, I would. I think much as he would love seeing his Mum, all his mate are at the CM's so I bet if he could choose he'd like to do a bit of both :)

Starshaped · 18/04/2012 22:00

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I think you're right, outdoor stuff might well be the way to go. The activity cube looks fab though Moley - however, we've already been bought something very similar... Fingers crossed we get a summer this year in order to make use of outdoor toys!

Fizz go for it with the CM. We put DD in nursery for an afternoon while we whizzed round the shops. I must admit that I rather enjoyed a pram free browse and peaceful coffee break Blush

We're getting closer to the big 1000 posts. Any ideas for a new title?
