Snotty monster part deux is currently playing at cinema glaikit!!

I had a lovely mothersday with some commercial tat and flowers!! Lunch with dm ddad and dbro. B had his first restaurant meal finished off with some sticky toffee pudding snaffled from mummy plate!!

I missed him so much when he was away but we both got a well deserved rest. dh has been really struggling with sleep recently so I'm glad to say he had a lie in each day.

I think my parents may need some time to recover from the weekend. he was up at 4 each day. still they had a ball and want ti know when they can have him again.

Arch are you lurking? Hope you are ok. Fancy meeting up again soon)?

Evening ladies, well after typing out my rant-fest yesterday I decided to ask DH outright what had happened to my proper mother's day present

He asked what present I meant (the charm) and told me that when he had gone past the jewellers they had always shut early. I sarkily suggested that if they are always shut when he goes past after work this is because they always close before he finishes work and that perhaps he should have thought about doing it in his lunchhour. He always goes out for a walk during his lunchbreak and it is less than a 2 minute walk to the shop but apparently he didn't have time Hmm

Anyway, result is he returned home from work tonight and 2 charms appeared on my bedside table.

I feel like a right fishwife now for having a strop about it yesterday but I don't think he would have bothered if I hadn't Blush

OutMeAndDie · 20/03/2012 07:19

gsy you aren't a fish wife. He wouldn't have bought them if you hadn't said something. I stropped at dh re the mothers day plans and him not thinking of me and I got my way (sort of) which I wouldn't have!

GlaikitFizzog · 20/03/2012 08:33

Gsy he won't forget to make an effort again!!

Debrief today I feel like I've been called to the headmasters office.

Good luck Fizz got any rescue remedy? And remember tissues.

Cyclebump · 20/03/2012 08:48

Good luck Fizz. I would envy you the rest but the Ireland wedding trip is in two days and I'm EXCITED. DH and I have seriously discussed leaving the reception early and heading to our hotel room to sleep. Mmmmmmm sleep.

Sorry the sleep didn't last Chilli but I did find that when H started doing big chucks he'd do them sporadically before committing to regular bouts so fingers crossed you'll get snot her one x

H on the mend and poo services are returning to normal, phew!

chillikat · 20/03/2012 11:22

Thanks cycle I think the bad sleep is being caused by her top teeth finally making an appearance. She was waking every hour last night until we forced some ibuprofen down her then she was asleep for 5 hours and woke happy at 6.45. A feed and a hug and I got another hour :) I think she wants to sleep in bigger chunks now, just got to get the teeth sorted.

Good luck with the debrief Fizz

OutMeAndDie · 20/03/2012 12:05

Good luck fizz

Hello everybody :)

I've haven't posted for weeks and have only been semi lurking. I've scanned through the last few posts but will have a proper read in a bit.

Hope the debrief helps to bring you some peace Fizz.

Well, I've been back at work for a few weeks now (hence the lack of lurking) and so far so good, both at work and nursery. DD seems to have settled quite well and the staff seem nice. Like lots of things, the thought of going back and leaving her seems to have been worse than actually doing it.

Right, I'm off for a proper catch up...

ecuse · 22/03/2012 09:25

Glad to hear you say that, star. I'm back in 3 weeks and dreading it. These last few weeks feel like one big long Sunday night Sad

ubw you have every right to be upset. Did you say anything? I was a bit disappointed on mothers day tbh. I got a card but no flowers / present, no lie in and no fussing in general. Managed to have a really nice day anyway as we were at my parents with the PILs staying too and my sister came over for lunch too and she bought me flowers for my first mothers day. DP showed no evidence of feeling shamefaced at this! He also let me get up with Jo after an horrendous night of

chillikat · 22/03/2012 13:53

Aww, ecuse poor Jo, and poor you - sickness bugs are not fun. I'm on my last couple of full time weeks with M before going back to work so I'm trying to have lots of fun with her. Fortunately it's easy to do that at the moment as sleep is ok (touch wood) and she's just gorgeous and funny, developing all the time. I think I've finally managed to teach her to turn around on the bathroom step to come down backwards instead of me turning her around to do it.
She also likes to 'help' with the washing - pulling all the wet stuff out of the box is good, but pulling it off the airers before it's dry isn't so good :)

Not much to report her, the weather is lovely and we've been to the park this morning.

ecuse · 22/03/2012 21:55

Chilli it's a great age isn't it? I swear this is the most fun yet (vomiting aside!) Such a shame really - after a year of dutifully taking her to baby groups she's finally got to the age where she realises she's at them and LOVES being with other kids and now the childminder gets to enjoy it instead of me! How are you feeling about going back to work? I'm dreading it and wish we could afford for me to be a SAHM but think it won't be as bad as all that and I'll probably quite enjoy the adult company!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/03/2012 07:25

This is a great age isn't it? I was only saying to dh the other month that I am really enjoying baby I. I think it also helps that his sleep has improved!

The sun has been out here all this week and it has been glorious. We need to give the back garden a good clean and tidy so that we can let the boys loose in there.

Slattern alert: We had the outside of the windows cleaned this week and after he had been I was bitching and moaning that he had done a really shit job of it. ............ and then I realised the dirt and smears were on the inside Blush

How did it go at the hospital fizz, I hope you got some answers.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/03/2012 07:43

ILike same here. Although there are times when I wish he wasn't quite so mobile and inquisitive!
We also need to sort the garden. We are getting the boys one of those big climbing frames with a slide so that they can burn off some energy!

Fizz I've been thinking about you, hope the debrief went well.

NotBobbysGirl · 23/03/2012 08:56

Hello!
Sorry have been a bit AWOL, been lurking but not posting! Had my op last week which went well, however since getting my stitches out on Wednesday things have gone a bit pear shaped :( Wound burst open again within an hour of stitches coming out and now they can't stitch it back together because the wound is mis-aligned so I'm left with a gaping hole in my hand!! Was given a dressing to keep on but that's impossible because of where it is. I can't bath R, even changing her nappy is difficult, I can't wash my own hair and showering is a PITA!!! Don't know when I'll get back to work now and I have my SILs hen night on Saturday and their wedding next Sunday :( It's totally crap. Hate not being able to do things.

Sorry that's a really moany post.

Hope your debrief went well Fizz, been thinking of you.

chillikat · 23/03/2012 16:21

ecuse, I'm not too worried about going back to work. Though having to get up, dressed and out will be a challenge, at the moment 10am is a tricky enough! Fortunately I'll be working mornings only so I'll still get every afternoon with M. Though I am hoping the morning at nursery will tire her out and she'll fall asleep for her nap on the way home so I get get an hour or two to myself to read mumsnet get tea sorted.

Currently outside is her favourite place - I caught her out of the back door crawling around the yard to investigate the bins earlier Shock

chillikat · 23/03/2012 16:23

NBG what was the op for on your hand? I must have missed something. It sounds horrible. It must be really hard doing, well, anything really.

GlaikitFizzog · 23/03/2012 16:39

Hi I'm here and ok just up to my neck in d&v from b and I'm meant to be going out tonight and need to shower before dh gets home!

I feel Debrief was a waste of time as they didn't say anything I didn't already know or said I can't explain why that happened that way. the consultant kept saying are you happy now? All the time. I felt like say yes so much so I'm gung to stop taking the antids I've been prescribed and skip out of the hospital to make daisy chains!

Will try yo get online over the weekend for a proper catch up. Lxx

Bloody phone put that at the end all by itself! Think its possessed!

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/03/2012 16:49

Aww Fizz that is lame :(

NBG - I must have missed something about your hand as well. Sounds grim :(

It is a beautiful day today, so I have cleaned my venetian blinds - oh the dust!! Shock Also been to the park so not all bad.

We are having T's naming/welcome party on Sunday. House is sparkling, cake done, booze and soft drinks organised, food under control. What else is there? I feel like I should be a blue-arsed fly, but actually there is nothing to do - surely I cannot actually have become organised, there must be something???

OutMeAndDie · 24/03/2012 07:35

fizz that's shite

nbg ew that sounds nasty.

Ali hope that it goes well.

We are in Glasgow visiting Dh's relatives. We specifically came to see s' great granny. she won't know who he is but she seemed to enjoy the visit nonetheless. Last night a load of family came to dinner at our hotel. I stayed in the room with s after we put him to bed. Got woken by a crowd of footy supporters coming In at 3. They were noisy on and off til 5 and I think they only stopped cos fil complained to night porter. They were beyond rude. Singing, banging doors, shouting. Worse I've ever known.
Today we are popping to aunt and uncles then back to see granny then DH's godfather then on to Ayr to stay with aunt and have dinner with cousins. We were told we are going out for dinner and the inlaws are all babysitting. I should prob be pleased but as im three months pregnant and asleep by half nine I'm annoyed. Apparently clubbing was on the cards til I announced. I didn't do clubbing before I had s so!! I get claustrophobic and have panic attacks followed by rows in clubs! Out for dinner again Tom with all of them then home Monday. Dh and I have got the week off. Yay.

NotBobbysGirl · 24/03/2012 08:42

Op was to have a ganglion removed, think I did mention it before but it was probably ages ago.

Fizz That's shit about your debrief :( Did you have specific things that you wanted answers to and they weren't able to tell you?

R has just decided she doesn't like weetabix for breakfast and demonstrated the fact by spitting a whole mouthful of it all over the dining room :( Not sure if it's just me but she seems to be being a bit difficult at the moment!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/03/2012 07:49

Weetabix isnt a favourite in our house either, unless he is very hungry.

I hope your hand improveg NBG, it sounds horrid. I have a ganglion in/on my wrist that seems to come and go, luckily it's not causing any problem yet.

That sounds crap Fizz. Remember if you aren't happy with the answers or information you were given, you can do it again and ask to see a different Consultant.

Have a fab day today Ali, I hope the sun shines for you Smile

My Venetian blinds are coated in dust too Blush, it's just such a shit job cleaning them though.

It sounds like a hectic weekend OutMe, you'll need the week off to recuperate!

I helped at another branch's NCT sale yesterday from 7-4 and I am feeling the after affects today I got some nice stuff though. Some lightweight summer grobags and some gorgeous Monsoon, Gap and Boden summer shirts and tshirts for the boys.

The family are coming over for lunch today, then the menfolk are off shooting while the rest of us sit in the garden (hopefully in the sunshine) scoffing cake and letting the kids run feral.

JKSLtd · 25/03/2012 07:57

ILike - loving the cake & feral kids. Sounds ideal.

Hoping to go down to the beach later to meet up with friends. Depends on DD's naps & the weather improving though.

Waiting for the F1 to start, thought it was now but it's all the preamble, yawn.
Wow, Sauber has a lady CEO Shock didn't know there were any women high up in F1.

Remember clocks have gone forward. Meant DS2 got up at 6, yey Grin
