Star I got paid for my KIT days a month in arrears. Didn't realise that was the case and was looking for it the month I'd done them! I guess it just depends on the policy where you work?

Yikes ecuse Confused also the reason I won't get a coil fitted!! Hoe they manage to loce it for you!! And I will endeavour not to dream about your chuff Grin Blush

Well Ive now caught R's bloody cold :( but on the plus side only tomorrow to work and then I'm off til Thursday, yay!!

NotBobbysGirl · 10/02/2012 21:54

Hope and Locate that should have said!

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 12/02/2012 00:19

More than 24 hours and no body has posted a new message Shock Must be a record for us. I can only assume no-one has posted as you are all out and about stockpiling maltloaf.

I've just watched Bridesmaids on DVD, very funny.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/02/2012 06:56

spooky Gsy, we watched Bridemaids on Friday night. I saw it at the cinema and fancied a good belly laugh on Friday night, so bought the DVD. The Megan character is pure comedy genius.

I feel periody today. I have a horrible feeling that my cycle is coming back. Ah well, I've had a good run of no periods. I've hardly had any since October 2005, and now I'll have them until the menopause, it's like an end of an era

Isn't it sad about Whitney Houston? My sister and I used to dance around our bedrooms to the Whitney record (yes vinyl!) over and over. That album would defo be part of the soundtrack of my youth.

OutMeAndDie · 12/02/2012 09:36

So sad. 1987 (I think) 1st school disco... I wanna dance with somebody!

GlaikitFizzog · 12/02/2012 10:25

ways happened to Whitney???????

Af here too only 2 weeks since the last one. what's going on there!

Quiet weekend here! We had a lovely Friday in Edinburgh with Punch and her dcs at a soft play. yesterday I finished the cake for a friend and today I'm batch cooking for the freezer.

Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh R has D&V now :( This is never ending.

GlaikitFizzog · 12/02/2012 15:58

Oh no NBG. Hope she's better soon.

B is unwell again too! Thats every weekend since I went back to work. His nose is streaming green ick, his eyes are gunky. He is refusing food point blank and will only take his bottle from DH. He isn't crying though, just look miserable. Spoon of magic pink seems to have sorted him for now.

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/02/2012 16:28

Poorly children here too. Runny noses and high temps, they just want milk and aren't very interested in food!

Starshaped · 12/02/2012 18:16

Must be something in the water. P doesn't seem poorly (that was last weekend) but isn't eating anything apart from yoghurt.

I'm thinking teeth, although I'm always thinking teeth and nothing ever seems to appear. Hmmm...

Punchthosecalories · 12/02/2012 18:18

Ali a belated but very warm congratulations to your DH for his good news. I was thinking about you the other day and I'm so glad to hear that things are brighter.

:( about R & B being off colour. F has been the same I think in the case of B & F it might be curse of the soft play centre and mixing with other unknown short folk...maybe. Despite being Blush about F lying on the ground firstly to have an tantrum and then to "little sleep", coming back to where we were sat in the soft play with someone else's food and attempting to pull down the flies of the mannequins on Friday I have a really lovely time too Grin

ILTMIMI I know what you mean about it being a new phase. I feel a mixture of happiness that my body is getting back to what I perceive to be normal and sadness that the period free time is at an end signalling the start of having to write a symbol next to day in my diary again every night.

On the subject of AF. I'm on day 31 of the cycle here. Usually it's bang on 28 days and very very straight forward pattern. Breastfeeding is really messing things up and messing with my head as I had a panic resulting in an negative POAS moment the other day. Surprised myself that I was relieved but also slightly disappointed Shock. After F I had a few 45+ day cycles due to feeding. We do NFP so I usually have a good idea of when I'm ovulating currently made more tricky with the feeding and postbirth messing up my hormone pattern and F& R are at a very demanding stage just now but I realised there was a part of me that would quite like to be in the 5% cohort that get pregnant using the early day rule. I would panic a bit, blinking SPD birth and other practicalities but I don't think our family is complete quite yet.

I've never used a coil, or any contraception so no advice on that but winced when you told us about the coil adventures...my goodness I hope you get it sorted soon without problems!

On the subject of shorter cycles Fizz does 14 days mean day 1 is the first day of period? if yes then it would be worth popping over to the GP to rule out PCOS or thyroid trouble however don't panic as it's more likely the usual post birth cyclic dip in hormones is causing a breakthrough bleed giving the impression that you've had a period but without the preceding ovulation IYSWIM? If period days are not included in the 14 days so say it's a 19 day cycle then just wait it out to settle if I were you and you might have just come through birth with a shorter cycle. I know my luteral phase is quite short.

GlaikitFizzog · 12/02/2012 18:37

Day 1 was 26th Jan then day 1 again 10th Feb. I had a gp diagnosis of pcos when we were ttc, but were pg when the appt at the hospital came up so they said no problems and sent us away again. Tbh its very light spotting not proper Af and only the 3rd or fourth since b was born. I had very long cycles before sometime 45/50 days

Tbh its very light spotting not proper Af and only the 3rd or fourth since b was born. I had very long cycles before sometime 45/50 days. that's what led gp to pcos diagnosis plus lack of evidence of ovulation. not knowing my cycle they couldn't do a day 23 test . I'll wait and see how the next few months go.

GlaikitFizzog · 12/02/2012 18:41

No idea what happened there!! Bloody phone!!

OP posts:
Punchthosecalories · 12/02/2012 19:02

Ah right, yes that makes sense I'd say you've not ovulated yet then since 26th Jan. I have another friend who has PCOS and has managed it over years fine using the NFP. Another friend who is ten years our senior, with quite a distended womb which is unlikely for you as you've recently had B, had hers out but managed to do it in such a way that she will be possible to conceive and carry again.

NotBobbysGirl · 12/02/2012 20:47

Do you think they're punishing us Fizz?? That's both weekends since I've been back at work too!

R has basically cried non-stop all day, she's taken one half strength feed, a (tommee tippee) cup and a half of juice and one slice of dry toast all day Confused she refused her bed time feed so am thinking I might go and attempt a dream feed shortly. She hasn't been sick since last night but is now having mucousy green poos instead, I hope this isn't going to be a week long repeat of the christmas bug!!

I'm blaming the nursery entirely for all these bugs, pity she couldn't have caught them while I was still on ML!! Would it be rude to phone the nursery and enquire as to whether any other children have it?

DairyBeetle · 12/02/2012 20:56

Well, that's DH off to the states for the week. I'm sure watching him get everything packed and sorted was harder work than when I have to pack and sort out S and me?!

Thank you all so much for giving me a much needed boost the other night. I'm still exhausted but not to the point of tears thankfully! S is finally keeping solids down again (fingers crossed!), we had another bout of vomiting on Friday night, but his tummy seems to have settled again now, though he still looks pale and is fussier than usual.

I hope all the other poorly babies perk up soon!

DairyBeetle · 12/02/2012 20:59

NBG Our nursery inform us if there is anything catching, usually by displaying a letter saying there is a confirmed case of D&V/conjunctivitis/impetigo/whatever other nasties are around on the door. You could always give them a call to say R has this have any others had it and when because you want to know how long it lasts.

chillikat · 12/02/2012 21:00

:( to all those with ill babies. M was sick last night but no idea why and she's ok since so we're not worrying about it. Lots have had a D&V bug but so far she's avoided it.

Please can you all tell me to get a grip - there was a photoshoot on Friday and Saturday for the local breastfeeding campaign, and although I applied I got a 'sorry, you weren't selected' email. However, it seems that all my breastfeeding friends were selected and enjoyed a makeover, photoshoot and 2 free pictures of their babies over the weekend. I'm more disappointed than I really should be as I didn't have to rush out and buy something white for the photoshoot and it means I won't see my face on busses or posters around here over the summer. So why do I feel so sulky about it?

Well done on the job Mr Ali :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/02/2012 21:24

Oh chilli I think I'd be a bit disappointed too but feel like I shouldn't be. As you say, you won't have to see your face everywhere.

NBG - DS1's preschool stick a big sign on the outside door saying that there have been cases of 'XXXXX' illness or whatever. So that you can turn around and walk away if you don't want to send them I think is the idea.

Thanks for all the congratulations for DH everyone :) We haven't really celebrated yet, I think we will wait and have some [bubbly] once he actually starts!

OutMeAndDie · 12/02/2012 22:07

Hope the poorly babies feel better soon. Hugs for the mummys that need them... That will be all of us then as it's rather nice to have a hug Wink

DairyBeetle · 13/02/2012 09:04

Damn it, I posted too soon, had another round of up chucking last night Sad Angry Sad

clings to OutMe for a hug!<

Chill I get like that about that sort of things, feel very pathetic and sorry for myself even though I know that I didn't really want to do it!!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 13/02/2012 11:48

Morning all

Sorry to hear about all the poorly babies. Dairy I hope that's the last of it for you. Stomach bugs & puking are the worst thing ever.

F has got another cold, all snot & coughing. Yum.

To join the POASing (don't get excited) - I was so bloated the other night, and felt so rotten (couldn't face eating dinner, which isn't normally a problem for me!) I nearly P'dOAS. The bloating was so bad I really looked about 5 months pg, combined with all those phantom twitchy tickles, I started counting backwards trying to work it out.

Anyway, I didn't. I've had 3 really heavy periods. I've got a coil (and I'm ignoring all your talk up there!), so it really couldn't be. And lo, yesterday I felt fine!

Right, I hear yelling, back later!

NotBobbysGirl · 13/02/2012 12:10

Aw Chilli I would totally be in the huff too!

Hugs for you too dairy we've had no more vomitting thank god, just nasty poos and a very clingy, sad baby. She's had 2 naps this morning already but is much preferring to sleep on mummy than go down for them - I'm bloody exhausted and it's not even lunchtime yet :(

Really need to go and do a big shop so hoping my mum will take pity on me and come and watch R for a bit so I can go. There's no way I'm taking her with me but I don't like asking when they watch her for me when I'm at work as it is.

Sorry I forgot to say congrats to your hubby too Ali what a weight off!
