I doesn't tantrum but he is an expert at fake crying Grin he scrunched up his eyes and face and does this obvious fake whinge. Stops. See's if anyone is paying attention, and carries on if he realises he has someone's attention.

Ds2 has been teary, tired and eating like a horse. I've put it down to a growth spurt but it has been going on for a fortnight now I also think the dark days at this time of year don't help, I know they make me feel lethargic.

I have woken up with day 2 of a headache I even had an ok nights sleep last night and that didnt shift it.

Starshaped · 08/02/2012 07:40

Ah yes, the fake crying episodes ILike. We also get them here. I'm not sure they have the desired effect though because they make us laugh rather rush to her aid Blush

Thanks for all reassuring me about nappy changes. It's good to know that we're not alone! Looks like I'll have to stick with distraction methods and pinning her down for the time being...

I'm a bit fed up at the moment. I'm on my third lot of antibiotics since Christmas (for various different ailments) and am fed up feeling crap. I didn't like to take antibiotics at all pre baby but seem to have taken a lifetimes worth of them since she arrived. Hopefully we won't end up with thrush again like we did after she was born. Not sure I can face another load of creams and pills for me and her...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/02/2012 08:09

Oh GSy we have that. I feel like all I say some days is 'L share with T, no don't take that, L that is T's toy'. Gah.
Full day of preschool for number 1 today, I may get something done!

OutMeAndDie · 08/02/2012 10:22

Fake crying also makes me Grin. So cute. hehe

JKSLtd · 08/02/2012 12:15

Starshaped - maybe try taking some pro(or is it pre?) biotics as a precautionary measure?
Think acidophilus somethings - can get from Holland & Barrett - were recommended when I had thrush. Sure someone else will remember the right name!

Head full of cold, sore throat, etc. Not great.
DD is fine though, no tantrums yet though she will chuck everything off the table if she can see either yoghurt or maltesers Hmm Blush Grin

Starshaped · 08/02/2012 12:55

Thanks JKS - a friend mentioned them too. I'm going into town tomorrow, so will have a look in Holland & Barrett then.

How's your DS2 doing after Sunday?

Starshaped · 08/02/2012 13:07

Ignore me - just seen the update on your other thread. Glad everything seems to be ok at the moment Smile

OutMeAndDie · 08/02/2012 14:20

I dont suppose any of you have the jane powertwin pro? I need to know if it will fit in our audi A3!?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/02/2012 15:00

Sorry, I have no idea about the Jane pram OutMe. I can't believe you are going to have another baby this year. This actual year Grin, it's so exciting!

Another vote here for acidpophilus (or however you spell the bloody stuff). It transfers through your milk as well, so it can help lo's too. Do you think you are just generally run down Star? When I feel run down I take an iron supplement and often find that peps me up. I don't get anemic as such (can't spell that either, sorry) but I do know that what is counted as an on the low side of average blood test result is too low for me and I need a little help with some tablets.

The headache has gone - yay!

There is a battenburg sitting in the kitchen calling my name. So far I have resisted ..............

OutMeAndDie · 08/02/2012 15:14

Bloody liove battenburg. Midwife has reccomended i take spatone for my low iron

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/02/2012 15:30

Ooh battenburg. Yum. My grandma used to make her own, it was the food of the gods.

Thank god I've already popped to the supermarket, otherwise there would be a battenburg in my kitchen too!!

Yes to acidophilus, and also iron. Low iron levels aren't helpful to resisting/getting rid of thrush. I also take fish oils and really notice a difference when I do.

Outme - I woujld just take normal iron tablets, Spatone is flipping expensive and tastes vile.
I don't know about the pram. All I do know is, don't get the iCandy double. A friend got it and couldn't get through any doors or into lifts or anything, it was a disaster. A great big pram-shaped disaster.

Starshaped · 08/02/2012 17:50

Mmmm battenburg. I love the stuff too...

I might well be in need of iron. I was really anaemic on discharge from hospital (I refused an transfusion in my hormonal state - no idea why Confused Blush), so they packed me off with lots of iron tablets. Although I persevered with them, they really disagreed with me so I didn't finish the three month course (Blush again). I'm not a very good patient am I really...

Looks like a visit to Holland & Barrett is definitely in order!

OutMeAndDie · 08/02/2012 19:07

Slightly more enjoyable way to consume iron is licouriqe! I was also abad patient. Tabs made me Ill so they gave me medicine which was vile so I hardly took it. I even bought a syringe for it which I think one of you lovely ladies suggested!

JKSLtd · 08/02/2012 20:03

I took Spatone with orange juice so you can't taste it.
Important to remember to avoid tea for a bit as it inhibits your absorption, while o.j. increases it, or something.
Also steak, spinach, etc.

chillikat · 08/02/2012 21:06

Aren't dried apricots full of iron too? And fibre, so you get the iron without the bunged-up-ness. I never finished the post-birth iron tablets. I thought they were having a negative effect so got lactulose to solve that problem and ate apricots instead Hmm. I may have eaten a load of liquorice too for the same reason OutMe
We're sleep deprived again here :( going away at the weekend messed it up. DH had this afternoon off work to catch up on some sleep while I took M to the sensory room at the Children's Centre Confused
Oh, she's crying again :( ....

Starshaped · 08/02/2012 22:08

Did anybody watch OBEM? I feel completely shellshocked after watching it. That was brutal Sad

I want to go and give P a big cuddle now. Thank goodness it had a happy ending Smile

Fingers crossed that you have a better night tonight chilli

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/02/2012 08:05

Yes I saw it Star. I felt sick watching it. Like you said, am so glad it was a happy ending. I would have liked to know the whole scenario around the labour and delivery to get the full picture, but of course you just see the edited version.

The battenburg remains intact Shock

I hope you get a chance to get some sleep Chilli.

NotBobbysGirl · 09/02/2012 10:37

I'd just finished telling DP about how I was getting better and didn't cry at OBEM anymore and then...........!! I could barely watch it I was freaking out that much. Thank god everyone was ok. That must have been so traumatic for them all, couldn't believe when they said at the end that they still wanted another! Stupidly my friend who is due in 2 weeks also watched it and is now having nightmares about labour!!

I keep dreaming about some of you guys on here!! The other night it was OutMe - I was doing a pregnancy test and it was positive, DP was going mad saying it was too soon and you marched past with a huge contraption of a pram with 3 kids in it saying "I've had another 2, you'll be fine!!" Hmm

Last night it was Gsy but I can't remember what was happening, just that you were there!

How bizarre is that!?

R is being a little bugger just now, seems much better than she was at the weekend but sleep is a bit up and down, she's been up crying in the nght the past 2 nights, she doesn't want to be fed but won't settle herself back to sleep either, I was up from 4-5 the other night rocking and shushing her back to sleep Shock - something I have never had to do. I'm hoping it's teething again but not 100% sure as I can't see where any other teeth are likely to be coming in anytime soon.
For those of you who have mentioned it before, does reverse cycling only apply to BF babies or can it be any baby? Just wondered if this is a reaction to me being back at work?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/02/2012 11:07

There is a sleep regression at 9-10 months which it sounds like some of us are experiencing. T is even more rubbish at sleeping than normal at the moment!!

I haven't watched any of this series of OBEM, I think I'm scared it might make me want another baby...

ILike I bow to your restraint in the face of battenburg Grin I have only eaten one square of the flapjack I made 2 days ago, can't promise for today though, I have got the cold T's had and I feel rubbish.

NotBobbys - I don't see why it couldn't apply to FF babies, although I've only heard it talked about in reference to BF babies.
Perhaps it is just that she is a bit unsettled by the change, and if you aren't there during the day and she wakes up and you are there, then she thinks 'ooh Mummy' and wants a cuddle :) It will settle down I'm sure.

OutMeAndDie · 09/02/2012 11:17

I watched obem. I was saying to dh they wouldn't show it if it was bad news... Kept me sane. So scary.

nbg s did the same when I went back to work so hopefully you'll get some sleep soon. He was the same after Xmas cos we had been home with him. He did have a tough were last week but I think that was teeth and a growth spurt.

Too funny re dreams. I actually ordered a pram last night. Better only be one in here or I'm coming for you Wink

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2012 15:06

Just watched OBEM, and even though I knew from here everything would be OK, Urgh the look on that poor womans face when she realised something wasn't right Sad.

Finshed work for the week. Meeting went ok. I think they were surprised to hear my opinion as they think they are upthere with the best regarding family friendliness. They've asked me if I want to raise a formal grievance regarding it, but I've decided against it. If it's enough for my department to look at their keeping in touch policy in the future then I'm happy. I don't want my card marked as a trouble maker.

NBG I have dreams about you guys too!! Although I've not had one for a while. Last dream I had involved Darragh O'Brien and Prof Brian Cox! I like my men funny and inteligent obviously!

Has anyone frozen the cheesey lentil wedges from the BLW book? I need to provide B with cold lunches next week because CM will be taking him on outings for half term next week! Any other ideas for cold, on the go lunches? Everything I can think of involves cheese!

Cyclebump · 09/02/2012 16:55

I missed OBEM Sad but, I missed to go to a knitting group at the local pub. It was lovely and totally spur of the moment. Even went on my bike Grin

Hmmm, I'd get their promises in writing Fizz, I've learnt the hard way to cover my arse.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2012 17:00

All my meetings I've summarised and emailed my manager. I've kept copies of her acknowledgements. The policies are all there, they just aren;t very good at implementing them!

Do you drink at the knitting group? Knit one purl one down in one?

OP posts:
JKSLtd · 09/02/2012 17:49

I too held my breath during that bit on OBEM despite knowing the outcome was ok beforehand.
It's all the nervous looks at the clock.

My question would be, what if they hadn't got baby out? What if more time had passed? Obv if they did nothing I presume the baby would die :( But is there another plan? I think I saw an ER once when they did a c-s and pulled the baby back 'up' and saved the baby, though the mum died i think.
Sorry bit morbid.

DD keeps face-diving into the carpet/onto toys, so a bump on one side of her head yesterday, on the other side today :( And she hardly cries but she's really wailed poor thing. Maybe this will inspire her to crawl...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/02/2012 18:31
