Wow, seeing that list is made me strangely teary for a moment!

Fizz I'm glad you're feeling better.
Frak Yay for a no longer poorly baby.
NBG It's rubbish having to work when you know that they're not 100% Sad
OMD hope you're not worrying too much and getting chance to enjoy things (and that S is letting you rest a bit!)

Valentines, (can't remember who asked, sorry!) well DH is going to be in the States so I'm not expecting much on the day. He is however going with a list of things to bring back (cherry flavour opal fruits, Luck Charms, Reeses Grin )

I'm sorry to miss people, my brain is mush at the moment! But as we've had 3 teeth come through in 4 days it's not surprising that sleep when even more tits up that it already was! Thankfully the last couple of days have been much, much better and tonight he is, for the first time in about a month, asleep in his cot!! Ok, so it took an hour and fifteen minutes of shh/pat and I'm now stuffing myself with maltesers to recover, but he's in his cot!!!

Oh, and I went to the drs re. my fanjo problems and she said it's just weak muscles, she suggested a trampoline, think I'll stick with the yoga for now! Dr also thinks I might have an overactive thyroid, much blood was taken for tests and I get the results tomorrow. Mostly I'm worried that they'll advise me to stop BF, S still won't take a bottle (5 months of a bottle a day and he still only takes 1oz!) and isn't great with a cup, I can't see how I can stop yet. Plus, I don't think I want to, I really enjoy BF (well not at 3am, or the biting, or the lack of nice clothes!).

GlaikitFizzog · 05/02/2012 22:24

Aw all the familiar names! We should put a shout out for them all to come back!

Not that I'm looking at winning anything, but was I the only one to go as far as 42 weeks Shock Grin

dairy you need to add MAC make up to your list! I still kick myself for not buying more when we were in New York 4 years ago. It was 1/3 of the price compared to here. And living in the back end of nowhere, I can only order it online. I like testing!! Reeses pieces are the dogs bollox too!! Does S take water in a cup? B was rubbish with the cup for ages, but I just kept giving him it everytime he was in his highchair. He flailes it about, but it's only water and now I'm confident he'll take a fair bit beofre showering the locale he is in!

B pulled himself up tonight on the TV unit! babyproofing stage 2 begins tomorrow. Those of you with walking babies, when do you get shoes? B will walk with us stooping holding his hands out in front of him and is quite quick. I thinkit's only a matter of time before he is up and running [eeek]

Chocolate covered pretzels Dairy!!

Eugh, have to go into the office AGAIN today, in the snow. So pants!

Anyone else weep at Call the Midwife and/or Being Human last night? I cried buckets at both.

OutMeAndDie · 06/02/2012 08:34

I went into labour on my induction date and s was born the next day Wink

Cyclebump · 06/02/2012 09:19

Just noticed the shoe thing Fizz.

I bough H's first shoes on the weekend, he's pulling up and occasionally cruising but I mainly got some as his feet are way too big for any booties I can find. At 10 months his toes are all scrunched up in 12-18 month booties Shock

We went to Clarks to get him properly measured and he's a 4 1/2 G! that's the size they normally sell for 18-monthers. We got a pair of crawling/cruisers with very doff bendy soles. They'll keep his feet warm when we're out but I'm leaving them off at home as it's not great for them to be in shoes too much.

Starshaped · 06/02/2012 10:48

Fizz P has been cruising from piece of furniture to furniture for a few weeks (and is really fast!) but we haven't put her in any shoes yet. We just put her in socks or tights with grips on the bottom. As Cycle said, I don't think it's meant to be good for them to wear shoes until they're walking outside the house.

NotBobbysGirl · 06/02/2012 10:55

Shock at the size of H's feet!! R is in a 2F.

Been to Drs this morning, R has the beginnings of a chest infection and also has a load of catarrh bunging up her ears so no wonder she's feeling crap. Dr advised against antibiotics for now as she's not particularly unwell (running a temp or floppy, disinterested etc) just grumpy. I completely agree as don't want her taking anti-b's she doesn't need. Can guarantee DP will not see it from my point of view though!!

Last night was horrendous as R would not sleep so ended up in our bed....and not sleeping there either!! Think DP and I have had a total of about 3-4 hours between us :( Fine for him who finishes at work at 4.30. I don't start til 1pm and am on til 9 :(:(

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/02/2012 13:34

I now don't bother with shoes until they walk outside. Cruisers are made for the gullible mums who are willing to stump up for unnecessary shoes. Of course, I have been one of those mothers Grin and no doubt I will be lured into it again Hmm

I measured I's feet (I have a foot measure thingy at home) and he's a 4 1/2 too. It's no surprise though, I take an 8 and my dad takes a 12. People always comment on the size of my boy's hands as well. They're like shovels.

Yum to chocolate pretzels.

Hope you get more sleep tonight BobbyG, it must be awful for you all. I hope R feels better soon.

Glad to hear M is feeling better Frakk.

Same for you Fizz, it really is true that a problem shared is a problem halved. It's nice to know you have someone who you can turn to for practical and emotional support.

Dairy - did the GP give you some info on pelvis floor exercises to do? Fingers crossed on your blood test results. If you do have to take some medication, remember to mention about you bf'ing. The BFN are very helpful when it comes to drugs that are/n't safe during bf'ing, phone their helpline if you have any questions. There normally is a way around things, so fingers crossed you can carry on bf'ing.

No more snow here, but here is still a lot on the ground Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/02/2012 13:37

Bobbys :( T has got a cold as well and we had him in with us - not sleeping!! - all night. Knackered today.

Cycle we do the same with shoes for T. He doesn't wear them at home, just when we're out to keep him warm. Grin at the size of his feet - I thought T's were big at 3G!

Peanut butter M&Ms are what I like from the US, I so wish they would do them here.

GlaikitFizzog · 06/02/2012 13:58

Ali you can thank me later! My friend is addicted to these, so she's an easy buy for gifts!!!

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/02/2012 15:00

Yy to peanut butter m&m's, they're lush. The coconut ones are meh and the chocolate covered pretzels are ok. I also like the red liquorice they do in the States, can't for the life of me remember what it's called though. There's a sweetie shop in our town that sells American candy at hugely inflated prices. There are also some big American airforce bases around here that have their own supermarkets, so if you know someone who is authorised to go on base you can buy the produce at US prices. Dh goes mad for the root beer

I need to buy a sports bra and the ones for my cup size are massive great contraptions. I often look at the size of the cups of my bra and think 'wow, are my boobs actually that big'.

Oh well, back to surfing to find a sports bra ........

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/02/2012 15:36

Fizz!! GrinGrin

ILike I use shock absorber level 4.
They give me strange pointy boobs but they do keep everything in place. I need new ones, I've gone down a back size from pre-pregnancy and I hope they do my cup size.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/02/2012 17:30

Ali, remember if you go down a back size you go up a cup. You probably know that, but I didn't till DH had training from Shock Absorber. I went from 34A to 32B overnight! Grin

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/02/2012 18:50

Jeebus the tantrums. Is it just my little darling screaming because he wants to walk/stand/sit/grab the cat/eat that/not eat that etc, or because he's bashed his head flailing backwards whilst having said tantrum.

And it's all saved for me. Daddy & cm get smiley happy patient boy, I get Sir Grumpalot.

AAAAAH! (as he says to me, constantly)

NotBobbysGirl · 06/02/2012 19:21

I will get oodles of sleep tonight ILTMI as R is at my mum and dads because I'm working tomorrow morning Grin

Interesting re: bra sizes UBW I'm pretty sure I've gone down a back size since having R but not entirely sure it means I get a bigger cup!? My BiscuitBiscuit's are pretty much non-existent these days!!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/02/2012 20:15

I'm pretty sure DH's training didn't take account of changes after pregnancy & breastfeeding.

I should've thought of that... Hmm

GlaikitFezziwig · 06/02/2012 21:14

Grin at UBWs DH being a bra fitter!! Is he on MN? Get him over to S&B to help us norkily challenged out!!

Cyclebump · 07/02/2012 08:38

So, had the next meeting with work yesterday...

I win! It's not the best case scenario but it's far better than I expected and they caved immediately. Smile it's almost over, I can see the finish line!

We too get the tantrums UBW, H is getting awfully good at them. He shouts, whinges, pushes himself off my chest, headbutts my chin and rolls around.

GlaikitFezziwig · 07/02/2012 10:02

Yay cycle!! You show them who's boss!!

At work and already my brain is about to explode! And I'm about to have a meeting where I am going to make it quite clear that I think thet've handled my return shittily. Wish me luck!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2012 10:53

UBW - is he a bra fitter? My DH will be highly jealous!! Grin I am fully clued up on the backsize down = cupsize up thing. I was in M&S trying on bras on Saturday and there was a woman being fitted in the next cubicle. The fitter was doing the whole +4 inches thing and the customer kept saying 'oh that is comfy'. I thought 'it isn't meant to be comfy, it is meant to keep your boobs in the right place!'

Cycle - well done!

Fizz - hope your meeting is going/has gone well.

T doesn't tantrum, but if he thinks he is hard done by then he lies down on the floor, puts his head on his arm and sobs in a very melodramatic way, it is hilarious Grin

Awful night again, T's cold is really horrid. He has passed it on to me as well, lovely.

OutMeAndDie · 07/02/2012 12:35

Yay cycle

How dit go fizz

?

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 07/02/2012 17:56

He's not a bra fitter Ali! Although he probably wishes he was! He sells outdoor gear, and used to sell Shock Absorber stuff so had training from their rep. He's only qualified to advise.

Glad things turned out well cycle. Good luck with your meeting Fizz, hope that went well too.

I asked the CM about F's tantrums this afternoon. She said yes, he's doing it with her too. And it seemed to be mainly food based (yesterdays peaked around tea time for me). We think he might have worked out that he likes sweet things, but the BLW book said if given a selection of foods then babies should end up eating a well balanced diet themselves. Although you might have to consider a whole week of food to see the balance.

So after a shouty start this evening, he's now munching on dairylea sandwiches, cheesy lentil wedges (thanks!) and some raisins. He would have had some pear or banana but they're not ripe yet.

However, he is engrossed in cbeebies. But I'm justifying that with everything I've seen supernanny do with fussy eaters. We'll have proper sit-down-and-converse family meals when we can, but it's just F eating (and he is eating) so I'm going to pick my battles for now.

Thanks for reassuring me that it's not just him. And I'm glad the CM said it's not just for me!

Fraktal · 07/02/2012 18:29

UBW Grin at the idea of your DH fitting bras! Probably better than some female fitters! Wink

We have tantrums too, sometimes about food, usually over nappies or me putting him down. I keep telling myself this is normal and he's asserting his authority. Unfortunately DH sees it as a challenge to impose his authority back. We need to have a chat about consistent discipline.

Ali T's tantrums sound quite cute. Better than our yell fests.

I can't believe we have tantrums already.

Yay cycle for getting work sorted.

Hope the meeting went well fizz. They were quite shocking from the sounds of things.

I am knackered, DH is being a whingy arse. What's new?! Need sleep....

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2012 22:06

Haha - when I thought it through I was fairly sure he wouldn't be, but I was wondering why he was having training about sports bras Grin

UBW - we use beebies sometimes for T's meals, especially lunch which is often just him or the two of us. He gets bored when DS1 isn't at the table as well and then he won't eat because he wants to come out and play. It is a good way of getting a bit more food into him. He wolfed his dinner tonight, and ate about half a salmon fillet all to himself! I am hoping he might sleep a bit better on a full tummy

There is nothing wrong with a bit of telly anyway IMO. I had some smug cow telling me about how her little dahlings never watch any - but they have a DVD player in their bedroom and watch half an hour of something as their bedtime story. WTF? Surely that is TV by another name? Rant over.

Frak my DH does that sometimes - the authority thing. Not with T yet, but with DS1. Worst is when DH is tired and DS1 is tired, and DH forgets how little DS1 still is. They always sort it out and are great buddies, and DH is always mortified at himself afterwards and overcompensates Grin

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 08/02/2012 00:27

DVD's as bedtime stories Ali I hope you gave her your best Hmm face Grin

I am feeling very frazzled, DS has been playing up something chronic and has been throwing tantrums at the slightest little thing and bursting into tears at the drop of a hat. On Thursday morning he climbed into bed with us and promptly threw up all over it.

He hasn't been ill since then but he just isn't himself at the moment. This has also coincided with P's starting to crawl so I think part of it is a reaction to that. I think I have been guilty of the authority thing today (I will blame the PMT). DS and I are both extremely stubborn and I have to remind myself that it is pointless and childish to be drawn into an argument with a 3 year old.
