the choc fondue fountain was great - we did it on New years eve with friends and it was soooo yummy!

looks like it was great fun , i would love a fountain at a birthday party or wedding reception, but i would be worried that it would get full of dust and stuff that floats around in the air , saying that i dont suppose they last long enough to become contaminated !!

sfxmum · 10/01/2006 13:46

hello all[smile

gorgeous babies!

katz - thanks for setting that up, must upload some shots of my angelic little monkey

don't know if i am an offender regarding file sizes, dh has been doing that since he is tech guy, makes me very lazy with those sort of things, must be careful that my lightbuls changing skills don't go the same way, still am dab hand at assembling furniture

trib - i dont really pay much attention to dh's objections to signing, after all we agree on the big fundamental things.
agree that it does not significantly delay speech,dd will be bi-lingual anyway due to my foreigness.
both my niece and nephew were brought up that way, now in their teens they both speak 4 languages (proud aunt emoticom) and they are top students too. i think its an advantage to understand that there are several words available to describe the same thing. this should help with crosswords and make her daddy proud{grin]

right hope you are all doing ok - hugs eym
must tackle afternoon nap now, see you later

sfxmum · 10/01/2006 13:46

Skyler · 10/01/2006 18:19

Hello all
Bad day today as totally exhausted. Dd2 is waking no more than usual but I am not sleeping well now our bed has gone and I have so many things racing through my head which is stupid as all the hard stuff is done! Very annoying.
EYM - Hope you had some sort of a result if you made it to the docs. Glad you are getting some help. You have a huge amount on and are doing the right thing letting dh take some things on and give you a rest. Take care.
Mrs W - Hope your boob is better and glad you moved your desk.
Kat glad baptism went well. I am looking forward to getting my dd's christened when we get back to the uk. Thanks for sorting out a photo site. I am looking forward to having a look.
SFX - DD2 is an on/off weaner too. She hates the spoon at the moment as her teeth are so sore but will accept me feeding her with my fingers (messy) and LOVES feeding herself finger foods (brocolli, carrot etc).
Giddy - Hope dd2 is settling a bit better....one thing after another.....
Jonah - Good for you getting new bras. I can't wait. I need new nursing bras at the moment and hate the fact I have to spend more money on ugly bras. My chest bit is too big and my cups too small though. Not a pretty sight at the moment.
Tea - Delete any of my photos if you need to. Thanks for food info. I think dd needs more and I have been too lazy to do it. She really does not feed well from me though as she just wants milk when she sees me. DH has more success unless it is finger foods. I will get there.
Trib - Thanks for offer to sort photos. Looks like the site Kat set up will sort things.
Bye for now and take care all xx

2Happy · 10/01/2006 20:12

Hey all. Quick post as feeding ds; then as soon as he's in bed, I have to go wrap some presents! Sounds like a flashback, doesn't it Nah, not a second christmas - it's dh's birthday tomorrow, and it's a biggie - he's 30 ! Old fogey can say that as I'm 6 months younger than him
EYM - did you get to the docs? Keep strong, and keep 'talking' to us

Skyler - hope you get a better night tonight; so annoying when you can't switch off at night isn't it?
Katz - great site, thanks!

Heck, ds finished guzzling already, can't write anymore! Hugs to everyone, will try and catch up properly soon... Maybe not otmorrow (sozzled on champers I think!)

eastyorksmum · 10/01/2006 21:22

Im here still evening mums hugssss

yes i managed to get to the docs he checked william chest, made sure cold hadnt gont on it, was very sympathetic about me, asked straight away how i was feeling, and yes ive got medication not prozac or anything like that, its called fluoxetine hydrochloride. i thinks its a PND drug he said just one a day, and it would take 2 weeks to work, he also told me either to ask my HV to come visit or come to climic thursday, hes a very lovely family man i do feel a bit better tonite too.

please if any or you feel as bad as me please go to the docters, or even talk about it.

I spoke to my friend and she said i knew you needed medication just for a while, the illness is 100 times worst when your baby isnt sleeping, its just that i dont feel like me, im so positive and up as most of you girls know, so all i can do is take one day at a time, and quess what im 40 on saturday 14 jan lol old tart.

Bubbaloo · 10/01/2006 21:27

Evening All,

EYM-Lovely to "see" you back.So sorry you're having a hard time.Hope you got to see the doc and haven't got to wait too long for the counselling to start.Thinking of you.x

Katz-Thanks for the photo site. What gorgeous piccies on there already!
Glad the baptism went well.Shame about the builder though.

Jonah-Fab news on the home front.
Good on you for the undies too-you can never have enough! I actually have a bit of a bra addiction and currently have about 50 different ones.It got to the stage where I was buying about 2 or 3 each week.I haven't bought any for a while though.

Happy birthday to Mr 2Happy-Wow...the big 3 0.

Hello to everyone else.

Bubbaloo · 10/01/2006 21:30

EYM-Just x posted! So glad you managed to get to the doc's and he's given you something. It makes all the difference too when you've got a nice, understanding GP.Glad you're feeling a little bit better tonight.

Wow,another biggie birthday. Are you doing anything nice on saturday, for your birthday?

troublesmummy · 10/01/2006 21:56

Hi all. Hope we're ok. Hope you don't mind, but i've put THREE yes THREE picutres of ds on. Sorry. I just couldn't decide which on i liked best so i decided to put all of them on.

Absolutely knackered at the mo. Ds is teething so have been waking up 3-4 times a night. Fortunately, he's just been crying for about 2-3 minutes a time and then going back to sleep. Its just that it takes me forever to get back to sleep again once i've been woken. Although i shouldn't complain because i've not actually had to get up with him (yet!)

Hope you're feeling better now EYM. I've not really had time to read up on everyones posts but did notice you were feeling down. Big hugs

I did ds carrotts, potato, brocolli and cauliflower, and froze it in 4 portions. Yesterday he wouldn't touch it, so thought we'd try again and he loved it. I feel very good about myself now. And feel like a proper mother. Was going to do him some apples and pears tonight, but knackered so will do it tomorrow.

Anyway, hope everyone is ok x

sfxmum · 10/01/2006 21:59

hello all

eym- so glad you have a proper GP. and your dh understands his vows, good man. take it easy one day at the time.
when i had my big depression thing all those years ago, medication really helped to get me going and fell able to start dealing with things, but do get some counseling. take care.

oh yes 40! i am looking forward to mine too i will be 37 in a couple of weeks.

pet hate phrase - oh she does look good for her age WHAT? you either look good or you dont, what does age have to do with it? patronising gits.
ok rant over be quiet now

this talk of nice underwear.. i really must do something about my greying old stuff

Cratchit · 10/01/2006 22:19

Blimey - so many posts in the last few days. I'm here but lurking. No time for decent catch up Dh Bday tomorrw not 30 like 2Happy's but 38! Congrats to them both. T

hanks Katz and trib for Fab tecchie stuff and offers. Hugs to EYM and all the working Mums who I'm in awe of.

We're well DS going through various ithcing/weaning/sicky/sleeping/napping issues I'm in the process of elimintaing foods and olive oil/creams etc for continued on off sickieness and ithcy head andf asll the time wishing I didn't think about it all so much. I didn't even think about the bloody word gluten before i ahd DS agghh! How are you guys working too? I just don't know where the time goes? Apart from Mumsnet of course!

Any updates on sleeping routines. We've moved to two horu nd half naps a day from three who know what! So we're pretty consistenlty up at 7.30 one sleep of 1 1/2 hr or two 1/2hr naps by 1.30pm ish and then another nap in the afternoon. If it's 1/2 hr we're stufed and he's overtired by bed and bath time at 6.30 7pm. DS awake - Bye x

teabelly · 10/01/2006 22:34

Evening ladies

Cratchit - hello - you're lucky with the daytime naps, dd will generally only have 1/2 hour somewhere in the day - but fights it most of the time. She's up at 7ish and asleep in the evening at about 6.30/7...not at all like ds who still had nearly a two hour afternoon nap at 2-2 1/2yrs!

SFX - 37 years is a good age to be!

Katz - thanks for the new site, so many fab photo's already...so I have uploaded another!

Trib - I think Scraggy is the 'owner' of the Yahoo june group.

Oh bugger, dd has just woken, right off to do last feed, if awake enough I'll be back x

amyjade · 11/01/2006 17:21

Hi everyone.

Haven't been around for a while, it's been a difficult few months for us trying to get through our first christmas without Freya.
Just in case some of you are new, i lost my beautiful little girl Freya on April 16th 2005 to pneumococcal meningitis she was 19 months old. 8 weeks later i gave birth to my little ray of sunshine Libby.

I have added the girls pictures to the Junies folder.

Just thought i'd pop in and say hi, Dd2 is thriving still not slept through yet though !!!
She is rolling over both ways and causing havoc in her baby walker.
Love all the pictures of your Junie baby, does anyones share a birthday with Dd2 17th June ?

Will catch up soon x

tribpot · 12/01/2006 09:39

Morning ladies.

Amyjade, nice to see you again.

Giddy, really hoping you got a better night's sleep last night!

We've had a bit of a shocker; dh's pain consultant wants him to come off one of his major medications, which is likely to leave him feeling even worse for a number of weeks. There should be a marked improvement after that (I so doubt that is going to happen) but it kinda leaves me stuck as to how to look after ds and go to work at the same time. I would consider getting someone in to help out even though that would make working financially pointless, it would at least increase my chances of a semi-decent appraisal at the end of the month! (Am still on probation, after all). Any ideas? I know nothing about childcare!

Also pain consultant casually threw in the face this medication has probably destroyed dh's fertility. This should be reversed once he comes off it but also not very impressed that no-one mentioned this to us when he started taking it in 2004. The fact that fertility was a concern for us might have obvious due the fact I was pregnant with ds at the time.
