Ooh Bubbs, was wondering the very same thing. Not heard a thing from HV since ds's last immunisation at 5 months. Don't know if they do the checks or not. TBH, I don't have any worries about him so I don't mind - though I'd be interested to know what he weighs (about a tonne I reckon Grin)

giddy1 · 01/03/2006 21:17

ooh I got one of those funny envelopes that looks like a pay slip.......only it was only containing an appointment for Jess to attend an 8 month check. It all looked quite official like the immunisation appointment thingies.
I am a bad bad Mummy and turning into an old soak!!!! I have drunk abouta a litre oif Sangria tonight.
Don't know where those extra letters have come from Wink how strange.
Hey Bubbs , I've just had the picasso MOT'd. I had been driving around in a car with an mot that expired sept 05 . I am so particular about all things legal and safety wise, I cant belief I did that . Anyway after having a 60'000 mile service done (£130.00) I noticed the tax was due so looked for the MOT cert and insurance etc. I realised I had to get it MOT'd in a hurry to be legal and get my road tax and the bloody thing failed Shock. Anyway I have just spent a further £500 to get it through the MOT....GGGRRR GGGGrRRR double GGGRRRR
KVG Smile you numpty ....thats a lovely thing to say xxx
Right I am going to take my piddled self off to bed.
The sofa was murder last night .
lots of love to you all

Oh and Teabelly ...I was 1846 weeks I think. So I am only a little chicklet. Funny I never wondered what day of the week I was born. Thanks for that Link.

I got a letter saying I had to take DS2 to the clinic for his 8 month check and when I got there they said they don't do them any more! To be fair, the health visitor did ask me a few questions about him and said that at 8 months he might be able to sit up unaided and bear weight on his legs...when I told her DS2 was crawling and pulling himself up to standing she wandered off and I didn't see her again Grin

All very busy here - we have been plagued with illness in the Wednesday household, with DS2 in particular catching every bug going. Sickness combined with a cough is unpleasant - the cough makes the vomit go further. I can't wait for winter to be over, I'm so fed up of it all, and feel so sad for DS2 as he's never well. He still manages to keep smiling though Smile

Bubbs, I'll be thinking of you when you go back to work, it's a very hard time (probably more so for us mummies than for the babies).

Rubbish attempt at a catch-up from me, sorry. I'm definitely feeling the strain of working, looking after the boys and trying to keep us all fed and clothed. Unfortunately Mumsnet time is lacking these days Shock

sfxmum · 02/03/2006 10:10

hello all

good lovely morning here very bright and sunny. and dd slept throughGrin to be faur she has been doing that most nights.

also no 8m review here, not worried about her health or development. decided to relax about the weaning am sure things will work out just fine in the end. not doing the 3 meal thing very strickly, she seems happier will smaller and more frequent meals.
don't think she has put on much weight on but she is so much more active so thats bound to have an effect.

can't believe its nearly a year! feel like i have spent most of it awake

not much in way of catching up, sorry, still trying to get some order in this house and get on with my running. am starting a 10wk prog, feel so much better, it really helps regulating my tendency for depressive moods.
weirdly i have notice that fellow runners seems to wear lots of lycra, whats that all about?

take care all, will try to catch up properly later

Ladies, just wanted to pop in and share some good news that I knew you would understand.

The sister of a friend of mine has had two ectopic pregnancies followed by two miscarriages. I found out today from my friend that she (the sister) is 21 weeks pregnant and all is well, YAY! So happy for them.

Re: 7 month check, my hv realised she'd failed to do ds' when I was last at baby clinic so decided to do it on the spot, i.e. asked me could he pass objects from hand to hand. You would think she would actually want to see him do it, but no. Anyway, the reason for mentioning it is that here at least, you get your Bookstart bag at the 7 month check. A few nice picture books plus rather a natty little bag, worth asking for!

Hope all are well. xx

giddy1 · 04/03/2006 14:34

Hi Trib
Jess is having her check next week so I will be on the look out for any freebies Wink,
Hope you are all well, no time right now to post as going out for a bit of retail therapy now
see you all later my luvlies
xxx

Bubbaloo · 04/03/2006 17:53

Trib-That's wonderful news about your friends sister.Although I've never lost a baby,we waited a long 7 years for Oscar,so I know how exciting it is to finally be pg.I'm really pleased for herGrin.

Had an awful couple of days with the most horrendous nappies.I posted on the health section(yucky nappies),as I wasn't sure if the contents were "normal",but hopefully it's all down to the dreaded teething! I've changed 9 pooey nappies so far today and thrown away 2 vests that were ruined-Off to Mothercare tomorrow to get some more.Is anyone else having the same delighful experience? Ds is now off his food and has only eaten half a yogurt and a bit of melon all day, which is very unlike him.If it carries on for much longer I'll take him to the doc's next week.

Btw...thanks for all your answers re: the 8 month check-very rude of me to ignore all your replies, sorryBlush.

I finally go back to work on Monday, after a year off and have decided I'm going to call it a day. It's just not practical travelling to the city and getting up at the crack of dawn.I'm going to be a full time Ebayer, hee heeGrin.

Hope you're all well and having a nice weekend and Tea,I haven't forgotton you-I'll be emailing you hopefully at some point tomorrowSmile.x

katzg · 05/03/2006 08:10

my little girl has got rhythm, and has just worked out how to dance, the slightest little bit of music and she jigs and grooves!! i've got my very own little dancing Queen!

Mumatuks · 05/03/2006 18:51

Hi Everyone,

I've just found some of you on your meet up thread, and Tripbot has very kindly directed me to your chat thread!

I have 2 DS's, DS2 is 8 month old, and was born on the 17th June 05. DS1 is 2.6yrs.
I'm currently living down south, but I'm a Northerner at heart having grown up in W.Yorks.
I've been on MN since Aug last year, and addicted ever since!

It hasn't been easy since DS2 was born, I have PND, but am a lot better now than I was before Xmas. DS2 is a delight and so different to DS1.
He has just started crawling, and trying to pull himself up on the settee. I love him to bits, he's my little fatman!(said in the nice way, as he's a little chubby face!)

Anyway enough about me, I look forward to reading more about your DD's and DS's. It's nice to meet other mummies with the same age babies!

Sorry I'm rambling now.Blush
Love Mumatuks. x

Bubbaloo · 05/03/2006 19:23

Hi Mumatuks,

I'm on this thread tooGrin.
Didn't realise your Ds2 was a "Junie"-Oscar was born on the 19th.
Was great to meet you last week-both your Ds's are gorgeous.Still no crawling here though-ds isn't well at the mo,and we've had the emergency doctor see him tonight. He's had horrendous nappies for 2 days now, which need changing every half an hour and he's been vomiting huge amounts.Apparently he has a bug,we've been given some Diaralyte and he's not allowed anything to eat(or milk)for a couple of daysSad.He is so grumpy, bless him and I've got to leave him to start back at work tomorrowSad.

katzg · 05/03/2006 19:27

hi mumatuks and welcome

well dd2 has been a little cutie today, she has been dancing! its looks soooo cute, she does this funky arm wiggling thing and jigs in time to the music.

Tonight is a big night for us too we have finally got the house straight and she is in her own room, she had her naps today in there so it could be a fun night in the katz house

Oh Bubbaloo,

So sorry to hear this. We had this bug about 2 or 3 weeks ago now! (It was around the time we were originally meant to meet up!) I really hope he's better soon. Poor little chappy.
Sean is makin me laugh as nothing impressesn him! He's always like "I came out for this? What a rip!" He's happier now he's on his way to crawling after big bro!

I think it took Sean aboout a 7-10days to get over the "bug"

Hope all goes well for work!
Take Care. x

Mumatuks · 05/03/2006 19:37

Thanks Katz.

Your DD sounds like she has rhythm! Is she walking?
I hope all goes well for you and sleeping tonight! I've made the same mistake with DS2 and when he's BF through the night (far more than needed!)I've let him co-sleep. He hates his cot now and sleeps in it for about 20 mins before he wakes up and wants me.
I'm not too upset, I love his little baby smell and warmth next to me and feeding him. I've sworn he's my last baby, so when this stage has gone I'll never get it back! Sad
However, there are nights I would like it to be just me and DH! Grin Blush

katzg · 05/03/2006 19:48

yep she took her first steps about a fortnight ago, she can still only take about 10 steps before she falls over, she mostly dances either holding on or sitting down

sfxmum · 06/03/2006 12:03

hello allSmilehope you keeping well.
i have been lurking at the big meet up thread, its exciting, i hope by then the trauma of going back to work will have eased.

mumatucks -welcome

mumma3 - congrats on house, hope the move goes smoothly. also that dds continue doing well at new school.

bubb- that sounds rough, hope all on the mend now.

trib - lovely news about your friends sister. i lost 3, at various early stages, before dd, this made for an anxious pregnancy at times, hope she relaxes and enjoys it.

giddy - nice to see you around, hi to EYM too

we doing ok here, no teeth but lively and very mobile, cant belive she is 9 months! you can really see her personality emerging. we took her to a playgroung at the weekend and she loved the swings, major giggles.
i am finding it hard to motivate myself to go out and run in the morning freeze, esp. after a disturbed night, its been patchy but gettin better

take care all

muma3 · 06/03/2006 19:22

hi june mummies Smile
have had so much on just recently but have been lurking around. hope you are all doing well and LO's Smile

katzg- your dd sounds adorable. my dd3 will dance but only sat on her bum! good luck with dd in her own room Smile

hi mumatuks and welcome - nice to hear from you and glad you are feeling better with PND i had it with dd1 .

bubbaloo- sorry to hear ds is so poorly and i hope he gets better soon. its a nightmare i know when they say starve them it makes you fell wicked . when i had dd1 her paternal grandmother decided she knew better and i was lying about what the HV had advised and she kept feeding her . resulting in no recovery. i had to get my HV to explain tat it was for the best Angry

tribpot- great news about your friends sister Grin

sfx- im sure weaning will be fine . they just do what they want dont they Smile dd3 demands her food now so we have managed a routine 3 times a day.

well we went to look at the house. its ok but needs alot of work and wont be ready for at least 6 weeks . im still really excited though Smile we took the girls to have a look when they finished school and never told them where they were going . it was a great suprised . dd1 cried she was so happy .Grin

tribpot- we have to move schools though that is the only problem. but i have explained this and the though of having a house is too exciting for them to even care . there is a school walking distance from the new house so its not too bad. we are suppose to be going to florida in sept but not sure if we can sort house and pay for holiday and get new uniform etc . so might have to get a loan to help out . everything came at once !!!
in a good way though Grin

love me xxxxxx
