tsc in the words of D 'uh oh' hope you can sort it out before all your guests make an appearance, what rotten timing.

D's sleep and naps are just so random, he hates going to sleep at all in the day until hes so tired he just crashes out. Today he went down for dh at 2pm and slept for an hour but was so cranky and clingy when he woke up but he just would NOT go down any earlier. He's going to bed at about 7:45 sometimes waking at 9 sometimes just cries out and ss. Then he wakes at 11ish and refuses to go back to sleep unless he's in our bed. I hate battling with him every time, when do they drop day naps altogether??

memphis83 · 30/12/2011 18:30

Collected L from my dads, my dad was in tears, feeling very low about impending treatment saying he had been thinking about ending it! L hasnt slept all day but been running like a nutter all day, he was sitting on floor at 6 eating cheese straws and the next thing he was asleep, he was so shattered I couldnt wake him so dressed him in his pjs and put him to bed! Shock my back has officially popped too :(

CakeandRoses · 30/12/2011 18:33

Hey all,

Just a quickie from rainy edinburgh. Missing you all.

Soooo happy for you vik Franklin is a wonderful name. Really really like it.

Glad you're home. Such a special time :). Hopefully you might find bf easier in a calmer, quieter environment. Like wss I had a private room for mine (had to pay for it tho) which I'm sure made a huge different to bf success and recovery in a way busy wards don't seem to be.

Agree with tsc and the others re bf. If you can fix the issue then you might find bf so easy and worth hanging on in there for. Feel free to tell me to fuck off too :). Whatever you do will be the right thing, don't sweat it.

What a fucker about the bath tsc!! Will insurance cover it?

That's really clever re potty mlic! A keeps wanting to go on F's but doesn't actually manage anything.

Feeling too car sick for more now so hope you're all well. X

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/12/2011 20:58

They vary massively dh but generally need a daytime sleep until at least 2. Cake's F still naps iirc? If not he only dropped them fairly recently. Most if not all toddlers of this age fight their naps - ds2 certainly does. I know it is for his best though and therefore put him in his cot and walk away. He is asleep within 2 minutes of me doing so. But that's the beauty of a cot you see - I can walk away and he can't follow me therefore just goes to sleep

Chulita · 30/12/2011 21:04

L picked up her naps again since we put them in the same room cos they're up fart-arsing around so late at night!

S loves his naps at the mo, grabs his comfort blanket, snuggles down and snoozes - it's lovely!

I was going to say how brilliant it is having them in the same room cos L plays with S for ages before coming to get us so we've been getting lie-ins for the last week...til this morning when she thought it was morning at 4.45, turned on the light, gave S some books/toys and was singing away. I had to get up and convince them to go back to sleep again.

cake I want to go to Edinburgh, got a brother and a good friend there, am a bit Envy

memphis hope your back and hips sort themselves out with a good sleep, sounds a bit rubbish.

tsc ack! is it salvageable? hide-awayable? like mlisc said, you have so much bad luck, it's unreal!

mlisc your E started on the potty early too didn't he? blows the 'boys are later' theory right out of the water :)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/12/2011 21:46

He was 2.1 chul :) But there hasn't been a repeat performance at all. When dh goes back to work I will let him have no nappy time and have the potty out and see what happens. No pressure from me - but if he wants to do it I won't stand in his way! He hates having his nappy changed and it's a trauma to do it, so it'd suit me if he potty trains early.

Woodlands · 30/12/2011 23:44

I bloody hate naptime, it's so hard to get J to go to sleep. Getting him to sleep in the evening is no problem but naps are hard. Today he didn't wake this morning till 9.30. I fed him at 1.30 - he often feeds to sleep for his nap. I put him down awake at 2pm - I had to go out. I got home at 5ish to find he just had not slept for DH at all. He actually seemed OK and we put him to bed at the normal time but he was asleep before I put him in his cot.

WhatSheSaid · 31/12/2011 05:56

Shock Wow at J not waking up till 9.30am woodlands. If I'm in bed till 7 it's a huge lie in.

Hope the ceiling is sorted tsc

mlic G now comes over to me when she has done a poo, makes a raspberry sound with her tongue and points to her nappy. Cracks me up.

vik glad you're home

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/12/2011 08:21

mlisc d would scream blue murder if I left him to it either in a cot or a bed. I think that's just the difference between how we get them to sleep since birth.

He woke at 7:30 this morn so he'll want a later nap most likely. Which means he goes to bed closer to half 8.

memphis sorry your dad is feeling low it must be a horrible thing to have to do.

Dylthan · 31/12/2011 09:31

vik congratulations I'm so happy for you and hope little Franklin is settling in well at home.

Memphis sorry that your dad is taking things so hard when does he start his treatment? How is your back and hips today?

tsc oh no have you managed to get it sorted?

cake I love Edinburgh. I hope you are having a lovely time there.

memphis83 · 31/12/2011 17:37

dylthan he has his lines put in on the 3rd but reckon they will start doses on the 4th, I told him we need to look at this as a blip and look beyond it, I made him arrange something for the end of treatment and we decided on a party on the beach so he has a goal to work towards!

dh my friends boy stopped napping at about 9 months, L stll loves his naps, he is the same as mlics W 2 mins and he is gone.

L slept 12 hours straight last night Shock he needs to go to my dads more often! We are going out in less than 2 hours and i fear I may have to get dh togo through my boxes of shoes to find flats! queue him moaning at the amount of shoes I have! I cant get on the floor to go through them myself!

Happy new years ladies, hears to another year of us being friends!

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/12/2011 17:49

9 months! That's really young.

D slept on the sofa with us while we watched the lion king. Trouble is he didn't wake til half 3 so prob won't go to bed til around half 8.

Everyone around me in rl is preg so now I really really want another baby!

kkfairybrains · 31/12/2011 19:38

Happy new year to you all! Here's to a happy and healthy 2012 for all of you and your families and another year of banter between us all xxxx

Woodlands · 01/01/2012 00:32

Happy new year all! hope 2012 treats you all well.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/01/2012 07:24

Happy new year everyone!

I think D would have slept well if it wasn't for the fireworks, they were right outside and so loud.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/01/2012 08:11

Happy New Year ladies!

Mine slept straight through the fireworks. Unfortunately though ds1 had a bad dream an 11.30pm, we went to bed at approximately 12.03am, dh got called out to work at 1.30am, don't know what time he got back but all in all I'm pretty tired this morning!

Dh is still miserable ill so I hope the new year picks up a bit

(but I hope ds2 continues to sleep this well)

CakeandRoses · 01/01/2012 10:24

Happy new year you lovely lot! Hope this year is kind and bountiful to you all. Xx

Chulita · 01/01/2012 12:24

Happy new year! hope you all have many, many lovely things happen this year, and here's to another year of chatting together!
Wine

My neighbour's guinea pig died yesterday while she's away and I'm feeding them Blush I feel so bad, nothing I can do but I just feel plain awful about it. Properly useless pet though imo, dreading his brother kicking the bucket before they get back...

Had an awful night, L hasn't been well for a few days with a fever of 39.8 that goes away with Calpol but then comes back in about 90mins. She was up til 1am, then up again at 5am for the day...I saw the new year in despite not planning to!

dh fingers crossed your D's alright with naps etc today, lovely that you got so much cuddling last night though :)

Have a good night memphis!

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/01/2012 12:42

chul sounds like a horrible night for you both, hope she gets better v soon. Yeah the cuddles were v nice yesterday, it's great to have a quiet afternoon and just sit and watch a film.

D went down for a nap without a fuss! Just hope it's a decent length.

memphis83 · 01/01/2012 12:43

Urgh....I feel rough as a badgers backside! DH did loads of shots and wobbled home just after 12 and I got back at 3, did no shots and want to die! Im really regretting getting lyndon a toy that that you hammer shapes through the holes right now! got a big family meal in 3 hours and I currently cant get off of the sofa!
chulita no wonder you feel bad but im sure your neighbour will understand!
dh I feel the same I felt like I was the only one pregnant and now everyone is pregnant at the same time, but I dont feel broody by other peoples babies (just viks gorgeous pic of her boys melted my heart!)

Chulita · 01/01/2012 16:51

Just had to rush L to the GP drop-in with a temp of 41C, thank goodness it's 'only' tonsilitis but I was worried sick! Antib's again...where would we be without them?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/01/2012 17:31

Oh no poor L! Hope the anti bs work their magic fast, poor thing.

Just got back from lunch at my mums, was a v nice afternoon. Only one day left of dh being here though then back to normality :(

Happy New Year Everyone,
I saw the new year in by default, just me and my beautifull tiny baby, was really nice actually. Thing are ok here, D has been better today but i cant see any signs of his chest infection clearing up, we are three days into the antib's so i guess we are not even half way through but i thought there would be at least some improvement poor boy. He's been better with F though, even giving him his muslin this morning, sweet.
DH's mom and dh were supposed to be coming tomorrow but they phoned and turned up this afternoon really late, 5.30ish and stayed till 8.30 and now are driving all the way back to brum!! rediculous and selfish, so poor D and F were totally over stimulated and took a while to settle. Also earlier i did a stupid thing, dh built the cot and i went up for a nap but decided to have a tiddle around and ended up trying to move the cot, its not heavy at all but i had a little gush of blood, not good i know, i have been very carefull since then and havent carried or lifted anything....much, I really hope i havent done anything, i do feel slightly odd, probably just need to rest. Having visitors so late realy hasnt helped me unwind either tonight, just had a horrid take away aswell so filling up on honey roast cashews and roses, mmmmmmm healthy!
tsc i dont know how ur doing it all, glad ur ceiling held though, what do u have to do about it?
chu poor L, hope shes feeling better, tonsilitis is such a horrid thing.
memphis hope YOU are feeling better too, i feel so lucky to have my boys, that was a good pic, its not going to be easy over the next few weeks and months but its so going to be worth it, like wss said i feel like my family is complete now, i feel happy and content.

MalibuStac · 01/01/2012 22:59

Hiya everyone
Happy New Year and all the best in 2012. :)

viks congrats on your gorgeous new boy, I'm very broody now.

Big news here is I'm late, doubt I'm pg but unusual none the less. Anyway it prompted the discussion about having another baby and we're going to try when my period comes.

I have no chance of catching up on what's going on. Its just been manic with sick kids, college and ill mil. Hope everyone is good. I'll try to keep up with you.
