Chulita · 23/12/2011 21:05

Ah but you see I've never let my pfb out of my sight so I'm not sure how she'll deal with it. Dreading it tbh!

memphis83 · 24/12/2011 13:14

Happy christmas eve everyone, feeling pretty shitty at the mo so not putting a dampener on things, just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very merry christmas!

Chulita · 24/12/2011 13:26

Sorry to hear that memphis, hope your dh pulls through for you and that you can focus on the positive. (sounds lame, I know...sorry) Thinking of you!

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/12/2011 15:57

Doing bigger all here today, we've been out for a walk and got the last min things.

Bacon sarnies tomorrow morning yum!

Going to have a take away tonight. I always find this time of the day quite boring, not quite dinnertime and all household chores done and not much on tv. D gets quite whingy although he's happy playing at the mo.

Woodlands · 24/12/2011 16:22

J went down to sleep fine last night, slept through beautifully and has been lovely today. I on the other hand feel like shit, I ache all over, have a sore throat and a headache. Have had a little rest and have now had a cup of tea and am waiting for some ibuprofen to kick in - I can hear my whole family having fun playing a game downstairs. booo! Am hoping perhaps it's a 24-hour thing which J had yesterday and now I've got? Can but hope!

I went downstairs and felt better after joining in with the games, but feel crap again now. I really wanted to go to midnight mass, my aunt wants me to join in with the choir which would be fun, but i don't think I can face it. I wouldn't get to bed till 1-1.30 and then tomorrow will be a long day.

Merry Christmas all Xmas Grin

WhatSheSaid · 25/12/2011 18:24

It's Boxing day morning here, we had a fab Christmas Day. Kids up at 6am - opened stockings and then one big pressie while on Skype to granny in the UK. A then forgot about all the tree presents in her delight at playign with all her stocking My Little Pony stuff. So we opened the rest of hers at 12 after an early lunch. Then G opened hers when she woke up from her nap. It worked really well - made the present opening and playing last a nice long time.

3 friends then arrived at 2.30 - we started eating about 4 - finished with cheeses etc at about 9 - I went to bed about 11 and the guests left at 2am. great night - have to go read Scooby Doo to A now! HOpe you all had a lovely day

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/12/2011 11:56

Had a good day yesterday, apart from Ds 15 min nap all day. We got his new toddler bed up now but the mattress hasn't come yet, est delivery date 7th jan! So we've put his cot mattress on there for now it's not too small just a gap at the foot so I'll put a pillow there. He can still climb on and off it.

Going to my mums house later after Ds nap, hope it's a bit longer today.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 26/12/2011 14:19

So when are you 'going strict' on him then dh?

I'm bored. E's watching peppa pig, W's just stopped screaming fallen asleep and dh is at the football. Dull, dull, dull.

viksam · 26/12/2011 16:43

dh did he nap for longer today? Hope the bed thing works out, is he going in it tonight then
mylife I have a very volatile, whingy, miserable, throwing stuff, tantruming, not eating little boy on my hands. I seriously hope its a phase because sometimes, god forgive me, i almost dont like him some times! Hate myself for saying that but its only the truth.
Im cooking a dinner for around 5ish so we can all eat together, see if he eats a bit more. I know in a few days time when newboy comes all this will fade into insignificance and D will have to get on with it a bit more.
He likes his ikea train set and he had some cars and some duplo and some lovley books but we have still got three presents unopened including the duplo caravan, think i might try and keep that till the baby comes.
hows everyone else and what delights did Fathe Christmas bring??

WhatSheSaid · 26/12/2011 17:06

Well after having a lovely Christmas day I phoned my family Boxing day morning (Christmas Day evening in the UK) and spoke to my sister who lives in Manchester.

A few days before Christmas she was at home with her 7yo dd at 6pm, her dh was out at his work do. Suddenly her door gets smashed in with a concrete slab, two men burst in, grab one set of car keys, scream at her to give them the keys for the other car (which she does), grab her purse, run out and drive off with both cars. Fucking scumbags Angry Angry Angry. My poor sis and niece were obviously terrified.

Of course the house keys were with the car keys so they're having to change all the locks etc. So it's not been the best Christmas for her.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 26/12/2011 17:23

Dear God wss, how terrifying! It makes me so angry that some people think they have the right to take things from people Angry

Vik...hmm, not liking your toddler at times...yep with you on that one. My littlest one Drives. Me. To. Distraction. Fingers crossed you're not waiting long for your new little boy to arrive Smile Have you decided on a name yet?

Oh and my two haven't eaten much At All yesterday or today. Sometimes you just have to trust them that they'll eat if they're hungry, and if they're not don't sweat it. Neither of mine ate anything yesterday, but both still slept last night. Remember that phrase 'pick your battles' Wink

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/12/2011 20:23

God wss how awful for her that must have been so scary, what a thing to happen right before Xmas :(

D slept for 40 mins in his bed earlier, we've got a busy day at MILs tomo so thinking after that in going to get strict with him. He's in his bed now but don't know how much of the night it'll last.
Its much nicer seeing him in his own little bed and I want to make the most of it and not waste it sitting there empty while he's in our bed.

viksam · 26/12/2011 21:40

dh hope tonight goes well, does he look really small in his bed?
mylife Pick your battles is a wise saying, currently i dont seem to able to do right from wrong, if i give him a yog and spoon he will attenpt to eat it but cant controle the spoon quite enough to get it in so he gets fed up and starts just playing with it, if i try to help he goes nuts! Its sooooo annoying because i know he wants to eat it. Also the throwing and the crying if he simply trips up or cant do something, he just seems miserable a lot of the time and so tired too. Obviously because he still isnt sleeping well at night im very paranoid about how much sleep he has in the day, but hes getting so tired before lunch that hes not eating much. I aim to put him down for 1-2.30ish but today he went dawn at 12.30 because i had no choice, he was so tired and he slept till we woke him at 2.50! So lets see what tonight brings. He does still have a cough and slight cold so hes had calpol and tixilix and about 7oz of milk before bed which is really good for him. I give up really, like i said we cant do right for doing wrong. Im sorry to go on, its just the wrong time for him to choose to be a mare!

viksam · 26/12/2011 21:44

wss thats shocking, i hope they are ok, were they good cars? why the hell were they targated? what is wrong with people!!

WhatSheSaid · 26/12/2011 21:57

vik yes I think they were quite good cars (well I know sod all about cars, they had an Audi and a VW). The police said they (the thieves) would have been looking for specific cars (stealing them to order) and they would have checked out who had what cars in the area.

Apparently there have been a spate of this type of car burglary in the area lately and it wouldn't have been a random thing, they would have known exactly what they were after. I'm just relieved my sis and niece are ok and weren't harmed. Just so scary to feel so defenceless in your own home.

memphis83 · 27/12/2011 07:50

wss how awful for your sister! the police sre right sbout tsrgeting them, ehrn thieves attempted to steal our bikes we got someone to look into it and we had been watched for weeks, sussing when dh was out , they even knew how many days I had been in hospital having L as it was the same time, the scumbags! I really hope your sister snd her dd are ok, they have to think of the positives thst they were unharmed.
mlic L was the same, he didnt eat anything on christmas day.
I got so spoilt this christmas, DH has gone to golf and then I have the delights of the mil coming, what was everyones weirdet gift? you know the one you open and think WTF? mine was from mil, a pirate photoframe and snow globe, very random, why would I want those? yes I like pirates but would not have stuff like that out!
