D will have been fine, don't worry :) And even on the off chance he wasn't he's too little to remember and it will be forgotten the minute he sees you

Has he got a name yet or are you still undecided? Our second thread baby!!! It'll be your turn before we know it Chul Grin

mlisc is right, D won't remember once you're home, he'll be so happy to see you. Yea, what name have you decided on? (we're demanding aren't we? Grin )

Woodlands · 28/12/2011 11:38

OOOH congratulations Vik! That was amazingly quick! Looking forward to hearing the name and seeing a pic on FB.

memphis83 · 28/12/2011 14:00

vik congratulations to you all , I admit I just had a happy little tear for you!hope you are ok and are home soon! cant believe after you gave birth you put hope you are all ok! Its all about you today lady!

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/12/2011 16:19

vik big congratulations, v quick birth! Seen the pic on fb he is v gorgeous.

We've taken our tree down now cos I was getting sick of it. In fact we've had a huge clear out of Ds toys. Put some in the loft for next baby and chucked some his room looks loads better.

viksam · 28/12/2011 19:08

Ahhh thank you ladies, D been in twice, just quick visits, unfortunately he has a viral chest infection so dh really shouldn't have brought hI'm in once they had been to the docs! Tut!
I hope u don't mind but we think we are going for Franklin James, what do u think?
My nips are already hurty, not sure about bf, gona persevere though. Really tired now though.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/12/2011 20:08

I think it's a lovely name Vik, really lovely. Will you call him Franklin or shorten it?

Chulita · 28/12/2011 21:08

viksam good on you for trying bf, it doesn't always come easily but seriously, get someone who knows what they're on about to check the latch. Midwives are great for the birth but every one I've ever known sucked when it came to latching the baby on and a good latch is the difference between keeping going and not. If you want to do it, don't just take their word for it! Hope you get some rest tonight :)
We're thinking of James for our next middle name, it's DH's middle name...

Ahhhh tsc I thought it was Franklin but didn't know it was James, how weird. Both great names non the less. James is My brothers name, just thought it would be nice to have a family connection. Well he's feeding well but I'm sore as hell, had latch checked out loads and it looks good but My skin is failing already, might express when milk comes, we'll see. Don't want to make a huge fuss cos I want out! it's a fucking nightmare not very restfull, two very crying babies in the same room, phone, doors, got a girl next curtain who must have patted her baby till it's spine is shattered, poor thing. Mom and dad are coming down today so I shall wait for them to get here then dh can come rescue me and F.
What's going on in the 'real' world? What's everyone up to?

WhatSheSaid · 29/12/2011 07:41

Even if the latch is good it can still hurt for a few days...it gets better. Lanisoh helped me loads when it got too sore, do you have any? I used to put it on after every feed. Postnatal room/ward doesn't sound too good for you - I was bloody lucky, had a room to myself both times (standard after a c section here). Hope you are out soon.

It's a good name - James was our choice for a middle name too (if we had a boy). It's a family name for us, always been a James on my side as far back as anyone can remember.

Not much happening in "real world" here, just had a lovely barbecue with friends, 5 kids and 7 adults so quite manic with all the kids running around, good fun though and nice food. It is pissing down with rain now and is forecast to for the next week so not too many barbecues coming up :)

Trudyla · 29/12/2011 08:08

Xmas Envy BBQ

Hope you're getting out today viks. Can't imagine how shit it must be with so many women and babies in one room. Like wss I was lucky and had a room to myself.

How is D doing? M had a virus as well when F was born. It's such shitty timing, isn't it.

Not much going on in the real world. Have a stinking migraine. I remember the days when I could just stay in bed in a darkened room all day and wait till the headache had gone. No such luck these days Xmas Grin I already had to clean up several bouts of baby sick (F) and had to pretend to be upset cos M "stole" a shoe and had to pretend chase her all through the house without waking F who was in the sling Xmas Grin

What's everyone else up to?

What are your plans for New Years Eve? We're gonna get out of the city. Over here people go mad with the fireworks (think bonfire night) and it's like a warzone outside the window, so we're gonna spend the night at some friends' house in the countryside. Gonna get some sparklers for M. Last year she hated them. I'm hoping this year will be different.

See ya.

WhatSheSaid · 29/12/2011 08:21

I'm not going to do anything for new year, the thought of voluntarily staying up till midnight when I could be sleeping has seemed crazy to me since I had kids :0

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/12/2011 09:27

Me too wss Grin

Hope you're home soon vik

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/12/2011 14:41

Shock My clever little boy just pointed to his bum, said 'poo' then went and sat on the potty and had a poo Shock

Shame he had a nappy on at the time, but still... Grin

memphis83 · 29/12/2011 15:52

mlic clever W! L comes up to me and holds his nose when he has done one, rightly so as it stinks!
vik it is a lovely name, my friend has a Franklin, are you home today?

For new years we are going out in the village, wont be a big nigh,no one dresses up but its a chance to see my best friend and dh at the same time and no expensive taxis home! we havent been out for a few years though.

Been at work and im still cold, left early as it was dead, L is going to my dads tomorrow for the dayto have quality time before his treatment starts, ive got nothing planned im torn between going into the city and shopping eventhough I need nothing but could have a coffee out without having to leave half of it as L is bored or staying in and enjoy a bath without L throwing his bath toys in and climing in or sitting at the stairgate crying maaaam bath!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/12/2011 17:22

Ds middle name is James Grin

We're not doing anything for NYE either really. Trying to crack the half 11 wake up that D is going through atm, tiring.

vik hope the bfing is getting easier. I second persevering with it, it did hurt at first but only for a couple of days and then it's second nature for both of you and saves so much money and washing up of bottles!

viksam · 29/12/2011 20:35

Guys,
We are home safe and sound, mom and dad came in about a min after we stepped foot in the house, really could have done with half hour to ourselves, but never mind. They made me lunch and cups of tea but i had to have a big tidy so i was comfortable with the house, sad but true, i couldnt have sat comfortably in the condition that dh and d had left it in. DH had, in fairness done really well with D considering hes been grumpy, poorly and off his food.
F is sleeping LOADS and not really feeding at all. I have put him onto formula for now, my nipples are bleeding already and the latch is good, i dont think its me or him, i truly think its my skin, im so fair you cant even see my areola! sorry TMI, but its true, one of the MW said that she can see why im having an issue. F is finding it difficult to suck from a bottle though, anyone got any tips? Im hoping to express and pump when my milk comes in so that way he can have the best and i havent got red hot pokers through my chest!!
D has been half lovely and half devil this afternoon, i shall choose to remember the lovely, like him stroking F's head or giving him his muslin or one of his cars, ahhhhhhhh.
Hope all i well with everyone, im off to bed.x

memphis83 · 30/12/2011 09:20

vik glad you are home, what a shame you had to clean, wouldnt your mum do it for you?

Its so quiet on here at the moment! DH is at work and all of my friends are either at work or still not around here as they are visiting family!

WTF tsc....you really do have some shit luck don't you! I had a leak in my last house and there was utter carnage - is it bad? Are you still having your party or is it off?

I agree with finding a breast feeding support group. Having a December baby myself though I know that you will struggle at this time of year - what about trying the Breastfeeding helpline I agree that if you want to put him on formula that is absolutley your decision, but if you did want to breastfeed you need to get it right now, or else it may be too late.

Trees are gone. Now I need to stop watching Toy Story 2 tidy the house. I'm the same memph - all my friends are busy having real lives while we've done next to nowt because dh doesn't like to do much at the best of times, but has manflu a chest infection so even less interested in doing things than normal

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/12/2011 11:14

absolutely not absolutley - fingers going too fast for my brain as usual.

I got Zumba 2 for the wii this morning - might have to give it a whirl later when I can see some carpet to ease the boredom

memphis83 · 30/12/2011 14:54

tsc shit! is it salvagable before the party?
mlic I cleared the toys from the carpet 5 times beofre L got sent to my dads and then I gave up!

I have just been into the city to shop, felt like a lost loner, everyone with somebody but me, I even felt teary at not having a pushchair to hold onto so came home with some photos and a new juice cup for L! now I can barely walk as my hips have been niggling all week since I went out and wore heels and now they are shot and im struggling to walk, I need to sort it before tomorrow I cant go out in flats!
