MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/12/2011 20:35

Ha! DH wants a bloody 60" tv!

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/12/2011 20:40

tsc good luck to dd1 fingers crossed for her!

mlisc dh's FIL and wife eat that late every night. I'm so hungry when we go round there for dinner that by the time foods arrived I'm past the point of hunger iyswim. Can't beat a 6pm dinner!

The bleeding has got worse like a heavy period. Really not nice in the middle of my so called cycle.

viksam · 06/12/2011 20:41

HURRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHU You see this is what i call planting the seed and leaving it to grow, i suspect you havent said much about the dish washer for a few weeks and he has come to his own conclusions so will now happily buy it thinking it was a good idea. Good work! and a bigger TV to, bonus!!
I have a big curly pillow but i have to change positions so often in bed i find it more of a hinderance than a help now, Its one that can be zipped up to make a seat for the baby so its in D's room and he loves sitting in it and reading his books. I went to the docs about it today, annoyingly she said she cant refer me to the appropriate physio only the midwife can, so i will phone tomorrow, i currently have my tens machine on sat on the excersize ball and have had some paracetamol too so hopefully i will have a better night.
Done loads of sorting today and put some bits and bobs into a bag for me and D so im feeling a little more placated, another two days of this and i will be happy!
tsc good news from your end at last, hope it works out for dd1.
cake that sucks for lady A, poor thing, what did the doc perscribe?
memph L was full of mischief this morning bless him!!
mylife CP sounds ace, have u been to santa yet? whats the weather like?

viksam · 06/12/2011 20:42

dh that sucks, do u think u should check it out? is it just because u missed one pill did u say?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/12/2011 21:22

Same thing happened to me dh, it's shit isn't it. It certainly helped make me remember to take my pill since

CPs is lovely vik. Still coughing so feel pretty worn out but never mind. Our takeaway was nigh-on £26 and it was cold!! SUCH a rip-off

Santa in the morning - carriage ride to Santa, visit with Santa then E gets a pony ride out. He then goes on a full pony ride Thursday morning :)

WhatSheSaid · 06/12/2011 23:15

Chul yay on the dishwasher. My dh accidentally bought a 32 inch tv last weekend , yeah right, accidentally. Our tv in the bedroom is quite old (about 10 years old but works fine) and for a while he has been muttering about buying a new one.

We went to a school fair that had a silent auction at, unknown to me he put a bid of 200 quid on a 32 inch tv that retails for about 400 quid, then got a phone call to say he had won it. So he's doing all the "But it's worth 400 quid! I've saved us money!" stuff.

It does look nice and the old tv was a really huge old machine but we didn't really need it...

Just been to playgroup Christmas party which was mayhem but lovely.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 07:28

vik I've missed a few pills now. I honestly just keep forgetting them.

mlisc it is v shit. Is it counted as a period though? Or do I go from when I had one 2 weeks ago?

D is just so fucking rubbish at night I can't think of a solution. I can't even do cc cos he can just get up and come find me. I don't really want to do that though. It gets to about half 9 and he just becomes really unsettled. Up every 15 mins, settles quickly with me there but doesn't seem to go into a deep sleep. He keeps ending up in with us cos I can't handle getting up every 15 mins for 10-15 mins at a time.

viksam · 07/12/2011 09:09

dh we also had a rubbish night, it was defo payback night for the good few nights. He does what D does and cries out every 10-15 mins, i leave him for as long as i can but last night i didnt have much patience, dh went in once and I went in once but he still didnt settle so i went in and gave him some calpol in the end, that was at 4 after two hrs of it and he went straight off. I wonder wether he was cold but he didnt feel it, i did cover him up and tuck him in well but...............who knows!!
mylife hope the santa ride is all you want it to be!! sounds magical! have a lovely day.

viksam · 07/12/2011 09:23

Regarding stockings (xmas ones that is!) We has the loveliest little ones when we were kids and i have just asked mom and dad if they still have them and if i could have mine for D, lets see what they say.
I feel rough today, bad head/throat etc, would be just my luck to come down with something!

memphis83 · 07/12/2011 09:25

Morning Everyone
wss 'accidently' bought a tv! I like it, we have a 32'' in the living room and a 21'' in the bedroom, as our bedroom is now loads smaller than the last one it feels like we now have a big tv as its closer Grin
chulita just think in a months time no more washing up for you!
mlic hope the weather clears up for you before your trip to Santa.

L screamed through the night, I ended up being sick as I got so worked up, when I went in his room he cried 'Dad' but dh was up at 4 so couldnt stay in there all night! Im going to a chavvy expensive soft play today then its late night shopping in the village so will take L to see the carol singers and light my friend is Santa so will have to see how that goes, he isnt keen on santa this year!

Woodlands · 07/12/2011 09:31

yay chulita! am v jealous, I'd love a dishwasher but we have no space for one.

A good night here, J slept 7pm-8am straight... his eyes are still really crusty and he hates me cleaning them. AM hoping for a less grumpy day but it ain't looking good so far.

dh do you reckon your subconscious is telling you to forget your pill?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 11:02

Lol it might be because it's getting so close to when I was going to stop. I took it today but don't know how much use it is after missing a few.

How long are your LOs up in the morning before going down for a nap? D seems to get tired around 4.5- 5 hour after waking up but he's only sleeping half an hour at nap time now so wondering if I'm putting him down too early/ late.

viksam · 07/12/2011 11:25

dh D is in a pretty solid routine now, We get him up at 7am, no matter what time he has been awake since (unless he's distressed of course) he naps after lunch at 1ish and i get him up at 2.30ish, he's then ready for bed at 7pm and 99.99999% of the time goes down with out a fuss. Wether he stays asleep or not i have no controle over unfortunatly, and that is really the only problem now, other wise his routine is working well.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 11:34

Ah ok then because D gets up at 7am too. Maybe I'm putting him down too early then. I never ever have to wake him from his nap though.

Chulita · 07/12/2011 12:31

S is always awake before 7am but rarely has a nap after 12. I'm a bit anal about being home at 12 so he can go to bed tbh.
He's had 4 awful nights on the trot, last night was another 'up every 90 mins and taking an hour to settle', he looks a mess - all red-rimmed, clingy and constantly crying. I'm 2 hourly dosing him up alternately with calpol/nurofen and crossing my fingers he's over it before Sunday. DH is away in London all week next week and if S is still like this, well...who knows.

wss DH would be like that about a bargain too, never mind whether we needed it, it's a bargain! I really don't want a bigger tv, I don't like the way they take over the room. Might have to get one of those tv cabinets like in the old days Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/12/2011 12:46

Our tv is on the wall and I love how much room it has made free in the living room

DH screamybaby is usually up around 7am and naps around 12/12.30. But I take his cues and sometimes he sleeps earlier. I'm the same as chul and I do my very best to stay at home at that time so he has a proper sleep. What was the reason you chose to take him out of a cot so young? And whilst I think on you've mentioned in the past that he can't lie down so you go and do it...he can lie down he is just choosing not to. If he was in a cot he couldn't wander about whenever he wanted.

Whinge boy is awake. Laters.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 13:08

He still hasn't had a nap. He isn't tired at all he's just playing with his toys. I think I've missed the sleepy window so will wait for the next one.
He's never slept in a cot and hated being in there. He's getting a toddler bed for Xmas so am hoping that will help. He prob won't try and get out of it so he might go back to sleep on his own more often.

I feel shitty today anyway. The friend I was supposed to be seeing later has cancelled so I've got nothing to do. Im tired and D won't sleep so I can't nap. Can't be arsed with it today.

memphis83 · 07/12/2011 14:04

dh are you getting him the toddler bed? why dont you get him the bed now rather than in a few weeks time? what about putting a baby gate on his door so he cant come and find you?
chulita I agree with the tv I would have bought a 28'' tv but as I got it for dh's birthday I went to a 32'' a tv bigger than that wont enter my house, I cant go in a house where the people on tv are bigger than you! I had a panic attack once when my aunt wouldnt turn the tv off because of the giant heads in her tiny lounge!
cakes have you got a delish recipe for a vegan cake/muffin? my friend drove today so thought I would bake her something lovely as she is always so busy!

We went to a different soft play than the one she took me to before, it was fab, they had 4 storeys of soft play, giant slides, mini ladybird fairground type ride, zorbing balls on a pool 8 trampolines in an enclosure and a costa coffee and at 12.00 they put out a free buffet for under 4's of sandwiches, fruit and salad and drinks! all for £3 and we were there 3.5 hours! there were only 10 other kids there but apparently it is hellish at weekends! He is in bed now and I should be cleaning!

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 16:40

FIL is buying him the bed for Xmas. Only 2 weeks to wait now though! Yes a stair gate on the door is a good idea, I was thinking about that too.

Woodlands · 07/12/2011 17:10

wow that soft play sounds amazing! I took j to one for the first time on Saturday and it was pretty hellish, the under fives bit was full of big kids throwing stuff.

J still needs to nap within 3-4 hours of waking up. Today he woke at 8am and was asleep by 11.45. The other day he woke at 8.30 and he went to sleep (at nursery) at 10.55! He can go 7 hours or so in the afternoon.

memphis83 · 07/12/2011 17:34

dh could ou get it off him sooner, the first thing im getting for L is a gate on his door before he has the sides off of his cot.

when are others putting the LO's into a bed? its scary to think in the next 9 months or so we will be in the middle of potty training and into big beds, time has flown!

woodlands it really was amazing its a lot dearer at a weekend but I wouldnt darken their doors on a weekend, that would be my idea of hell! the toddler section was a bit poor but as the oldest child there was 4 he happily ran around the older bit, dont know where his energy has come from he has been running around the house doing a lap over and over chasing the dog!

Naps vary here at the moment he is waking at 6.15 every morning and sometimes he needs to nap at 10 and today he didnt go until 2pm as we were out but I had to sing all the way home to keep him awake as I want him awake later tonight!

Chulita · 07/12/2011 19:11

I had a gate on the door for L and she'd stand holding onto it and scream so that lasted about a day. I just shut them in. We're going to try both of them in the same room when DH gets back from his trip, once that's settled we'll put him in a bed. I'm not in a rush because we don't have a top stair gate so once L gets the door open he'll be off, I want to be sure he's reliable on the stairs.

S has tonsilitis and projectiled his tea :( Tomorrow we've got to drop the car off for its MOT and cross fingers it gets done quickly while I sit in the Asda cafe with both of them, then I've got physio at 1pm and midwife at 3pm. Not looking forward to it and with garages being the way they are it has the potential to go horribly wrong...

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/12/2011 19:48

I've never used a gate on the door either, they've always had their bedroom doors closed at bedtime.

I'm in no hurry to get a toddler bed. IMHO it's too early. W might want to get up early but I make the rules round 'ere and I say he stays in his cot of a morning until I get him up, not until whatever time of the day or night he decides to get out of bed. He's too young to understand the concept of a gro clock like E has, when he's old enough to negotiate with re 'get up time' by using a gro clock I'll contemplate it

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/12/2011 20:52

I don't think they've got it yet. A 2 week wait wont hurt though will it? If D was in a cot I prob wouldn't be getting him a bed yet but it's a better solution to what we've got now.

Woodlands · 07/12/2011 21:05

I don't think we're going to get a toddler bed - we'll go straight to a single bed which will last longer. I guess we'll keep him in the cot as long as possible but if he learns to climb out we'll need to rethink!
