It is very quiet in here this weekend! Where is everyone?
Thanks for the kind words on Friday.
It helped me keep my sanity when things got worse...
We got back from work to find the kitchen under water.
The radiator we only fitted 5 years ago had failed and soaked the dining area. The actual radiator itself had split, rather than our DIY plumbing having issues. Naturally, the radiator is out of warranty.
All the wrapped and organised Christmas presents were in that area too, but I fortunately had recently organised them into a plastic Tesco crate, so they were safe!! [cries in relief]
DH and I debated poking the insurance, but they'd likely have just given us some money to hire a heater dry the carpet out (since it was wet but not stained) and then tripled our premiums next year.
Instead we've bitten the bullet and sold our souls to go ahead and get a new kitchen installed, replacing the radiator with under-plinth heating and changing the carpet to tiles. Since the house isn't selling the way it is and one of the major problems is likely to be that the kitchen is falling off the walls a little old.
So I get a shiny new kitchen in January! After we've been without one and had intermittent gas/electricity/water for two weeks beforehand. Eek!
Weekend wasn't great for M either, she's fortunately slept reasonably well for the last two nights, but was quite feverish and lethargic on Saturday. I was quite worried for a bit, but she perked up after some Calpol brought her temperature down again. Two new teeth to show for it though, she's now got a mighty eight!
I'm the other way round with genders, DH!
Like Memphis I was worried about having a girly-girl and would have, in some ways, preferred a boy. Though M's lovely and I wouldn't change her for the world and will just ban pink from my house. :) I'd secretly like a boy next time but realise I will end up with three girly-girl daughters.
Love that house layout, Dylthan! I really want to build my own house, someday.
Have you found a plot for it?
