wss it looks like lovely weather, v jealous! They look like they had fun splashing in the sea.

D went from 7:40 til 11:15 then took 15 mins to get him back to sleep but he woke up after 10 mins again so he came in our bed. I should really stop doing that now he's well again.

I'm off to the zoo today, again!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/11/2011 07:31

Hope he's better today tsc

Chul I'd be really frustrated too. I would recommend internet shopping and bulk up your order by buying store cupboard stuff if you need to, stuff that will always come in handy

Woodlands · 28/11/2011 08:22

Poor you tsc and poor little F - hope he had a better night and you managed to get some rest.

viksam · 28/11/2011 08:27

OMG spireal u really are going through it atm, I bet u couldnt believe it when you came home to that after the night and day you had had. Great on you getting a new kitchen but rubbish that those circumstances made it happen. Hope u have had a decent night with M.
chu i sent DH to the supermarket yesterday to get the bulky stuff, im just gona pop over to get the fresh and some other bits and bobs this morning, i refuse to push a trolly as well, its too painfull afterwards. I know i only have 4-6 weeks left at the most i do feel for u if ur that bad already, its so horrid!
D has a cold although he slept quite well just woke early so is now grumpy cos hes tired again, poor boy just cant breath.
Anyone got anything planned this week? I have a heavy week at work, unfortunatly as its my last week! I have a visit to do on tuesday and the BIG boss is coming on wednesday and i have another visitor on thursday and inbetween times i have to wrap up all my loose ends and finish certain stuff off and hand over for 9 months, im gona be frazzeled by friday then we have visitors at the weekend! Feel knackered even thinking about it!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/11/2011 08:40

Oh yes, gosh sorry Spirael I forgot to say about your flood - I do feel for you. Exciting about the new kitchen though Envy

My biggest plans for the week Vik is putting the tree up on Thursday! Yaaaaaaaaay! Followed by a curry with my friend on the night. Then next week we're at Centre Parks, woop woop! Although dh has got a new job (bit of a whirlwind and it all happened overnight) so I really hope he doesn't have to bring anythng work-wise with him next week.

The kids are already climbing the walls, probably cos we didn't really do anything yesterday, so I'm taking them to sure start for a 9.30 playgroup. I don't like this one though as it gets so busy. Never mind, it's not for me so I will just take a deep breath and get on with it.

Good weekend cake?

viksam · 28/11/2011 13:21

Rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby boy wont settle for his nap, this doesnt happen very often so its annoying me! He fell asleep in the car earlier for 20 mins, i hope he goes down and he doesnt think he has already had a sleep, i have work to do that i dont want to be doing at 7pm tonight.
I only popped out to the big boots and next and my back is done in now and im supposed to be going to the supermarket later Sad
its gone awfull quiet on here!!! is everyone having a life, how very dare you!!!!

I'm sure F won't be too worried about a small cut in his mouth, TSC. But you have my sympathy for the awful knowledge that something you did caused minor harm. It's a horrible feeling! Though I doubt he'll be holding it against you. :) Hopefully the steroids will help.

My week/month is still not improving. Sad M spontaneously came out in a rash on her torso yesterday, that I put down to a reaction with some new vests I got her that she was wearing one of for the first time. I resolved to wash them another couple of times to make absolutely sure the chemicals were gone and dressed her in her older things this morning.

However I got the dreaded call from Nursery earlier, that the rash had gotten worse, M was out of sorts and they were worried she had measles. Shock Took me three tries and about half an hour to get hold of my bloody doctors surgery for an appointment.

Then mobilised DH to race out of work and take M in his lunch hour, hoping it was just a mild allergic reaction or some such. Doctors surgery kept DH and M in an excluded side room at the surgery for an hour until she was seen! Angry

Found out M doesn't have measles, but does have a viral rash and needs to be kept at home, away from people, until the rash fades. Confused DH and I each have half a day of holiday each remaining this year (DH is taking his currently) and we can't afford to take parental leave!

Several plaintive calls later, DH's parents are driving 100 miles and coming to stay with us for the rest of the week and I'm (currently in the process of organising) working from home so I can at least cook the meals and change the smelly nappies.

Annoyingly, when I called nursery to let them know, they said that they'd ordinarily still take kids with a viral rash (probably why M has it in the first place...). However because the doctor has said M has to be kept away, they have to abide by that.

[weeps] Does someone want to swap lives with me for a bit so I can have a nice, quiet, boring week where nothing breaks and everything runs smoothly??

Aw spirael, that's utterly rubbish :( Fingers crossed this is the last thing for you! Get better quick M! Thanks

tsc that sounds horrible, F won't remember it although that doesn't make it any easier for you. At least you got them down him and saved you all a trip back to hosp.

viks I'm just going to put off the shopping til next week so I can get enough to make it worthwhile. I can't manage the buggy at the mo let alone a loaded trolley with a mind of its own! 4-6 weeks...eek!

Our neighbour went into labour this morning, I keep peeking out the curtains to see if they're back. I'll have to feed their dog tonight if they're not back. I hope for her sake it's quick, silly how excited I am for someone else's baby!

memphis83 · 28/11/2011 15:39

im still here have posted a mega post every day and it wont send, we are having teething problems with the internet, im sick of writing out the same shit every day but I really hope things improve for most on here who are having problems.
I cant buy anything online as the net loses connection, my dad wants stuff from america for xmas so he wont be getting it if i cant order it soon.
Also L is having terrible night terrors every night nothing soothes him he doesnt even want a bottle, I brought him into our bed for the first time ever the other night, any suggestions, I feel im going mad to be considering dreamcatchers and iron keys under his bed!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/11/2011 17:08

Poor fong tsc :( Your predictive text means it takes me ages to read to your post to decipher what you've said Grin

Spirael that sounds really...shit. Poor Spirael Family.

I have absolutely no experience of them myself memph but found this online

Unlike a night terror, a nightmare leaves your child truly awake...Also, children have nightmares during dream (REM) sleep, often in the early morning hours between 2am and 6am. They commonly have night terrors, on the other hand, in the first few hours of the night, during deep non-dream (non-REM) sleep...

What should I do if my child has a night terror?

Don't try to wake her. And expect that your efforts to comfort her will be rebuffed ? a child having a night terror really can't be calmed down, and if you try to hold her it may make her wilder. Unless she's in danger of hurting herself, don't attempt to physically comfort her. Just speak calmly, put yourself between her and anything dangerous (the headboard of her bed, for instance), and wait for the storm to pass. Before you go to bed, take the same precautions you would for a sleepwalker, since children in the grip of a night terror often stumble out of bed: pick up any toys or objects on the floor that she could trip on, fasten a gate at the top of the stairs, and make sure windows and outside doors are locked.

viksam · 28/11/2011 18:32

spireal i feel rather pathetic now moaning about D not settling and the like, im sorry ur having such a shitty time, maybe its all coming at once and it will be plain sailing all over xmas and the new year! I really hope so for u!! How is M in herself?
tsc so how do u have to administer the steroids? Cuts to the mouth heal real quick but it must have sucked, more for u than for him though.
cake come on, we want to hear about ur weekend...........but only if u had a good time!!
DH did u have a good time at the zoo? Does D look at the animals? I havent taken D anywhere like that at all yet.
mylife centre park next week, lovely! Blimey that was a quick change of job for dh wasnt it? Is it a whole new company? my dh wont let me put my tree up this early, i want to put it up but not sure I will this year due to baby, its not going to be the putting up, its the taking down that will be an issue. DH doesnt have anything to do with the decs so it will be all down to me and with a new baby its probably the last thing i will want to do.
I have had two braxton hicks the last few days hope he doesnt come too early, im not the remotest bit ready yet!!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 28/11/2011 18:42

No, same company vik, just new job

I always put my decs up on 1st December. 'Them's the rules' in my house Grin E is a December baby but not as close to Xmas as your lo (he's 9th) but I still had them up and remember him staring in amazement at the lights as if it were yesterday.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/11/2011 19:08

vik yeah the zoo was good thanks, there was hardly anyone else there so the playground was deserted which is how D likes it! He does look at the animals if they are obv and in his face. He wouldn't spot some lone monkey hiding in the corner or a cage a mile hundred yards away from the fence.
He just likes being outdoors and the zoo I went to you get an annual pass for the same price as a day ticket so it's no money lost if he doesn't really look at the animals everytime.

Why, oh why, does J only sleep late when I have to be up? I have been at my desk since 7.50am but he is still snoozing peacefully. I have just turned the light on and opened the curtain in his room but he is still fast asleep... they stop serving breakfast at nursery at 9.30 so he'd better get there soon! I haven't had breakfast either, was going to wait till I'd done the nursery run. This is the third day running we've had to wake him - Sunday we were going to a christening, yesterday DH was taking the car so needed to drop him at nursery first. But of course tomorrow/Thursday when I don't have to be up so early, he'll probably be up at 6... actually tomorrow I'd have to wake him by this time anyway as we have to leave for swimming at 9.05.

Woodlands · 29/11/2011 09:20

huh. well, just decided he'd really have to wake up. I should have let him sleep... he's got conjunctivitis AGAIN. His whole face was gunked up. So no nursery for him this morning. Lucky I've already done a fair bit of work, and can do more while he naps etc.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/11/2011 09:43

Every day I tell E off for taking things off the kitchen worktops. Every fucking day. Well now he's just pulled the fruit bowl off the side and it's smashed all over the floor Angry Angry Angry

Sorry bout the conjunctivitis again woodlands.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/11/2011 09:50

woodlands same happens to me. D was up at 6:20 today but on sat when it's my lie in I bet he sleeps til gone 7. Sorry about the conjunctivitis hope it clears up soon.

mlisc D has smashed my only glass dish and there was glass bloody everywhere. Hope the rest of your day goes smoothly.

He's better with his naps atm he goes to sleep in mins and is having about 50 mins- an hour again.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/11/2011 10:02

What pissed me off most though dh is that W and D are old enough to know 'no' but are still too young to understand consequences. E is old enough to know that doing that is naughty/can be dangerous and yet he still did it. Again.

Was supposed to be going out with my friend but it's too windy, it's horrible. I got earache from just 15 mins on the field with the dogs. She's coming here for cake instead now.

CakeandRoses · 29/11/2011 10:34

Hey lovelies,

Got back last night after a truly lovely weekend in brussels and bruge. Feeling v xmassy now. My sciatica was dreadful tho so it was slow and painful progress round the xmas markets!

Haven't caught up with you all yet as my mac lead has broken and mac battery is flat. Will catch up slowly via bb when I get a moment later.

Hope you're all well. Chat soon x

memphis83 · 29/11/2011 10:37

mlic thanks for that, ive now got the net but using the cable! he has the terrors sometimes in his daytime nap and between 2 and 3 am they last about half an hour and its awful, quite scary that he looks through you, been speaking to a friend whos daugter has them everynight too.
When im beyond tired my symptoms of my illnes and stroke are heightened so I wave a numb right arm and cant do anything with it, also very wobbly on my feet!
