ponyo I have no idea if I'm being naughty and undoing all my good cc work but sometimes I let her feed to sleep, or sleep on me, or go to her when she cries for ages, but then sometimes I don't. I guess maybe this is confusing her perhaps, I don't know, but I know how you feel.

ems still no hv call, will aim to try again tomorrow

Can I ask a thicko q re: nursery I was thinking about - do they all sleep in the same room in their own cots? If so, do they not wake each other up and do they just use the same sheets for all the babies who will use the cot that day?

hubbard86 · 07/11/2011 22:07

thanks for all your lovely messages, i'm ok. Only really found thurs and sat really hard as they were anniversarys of when i saw dad last and when he passed. I just struggle with anything else and am on the brink of tears during those days. I really do hope one day i'll be able to enjoy bonfire night instead of feeling so sad.

deb my sister plead guilty to arson with intent to endanger life. Her max sentance could of been life led so 4yrs is very leniant (sp?) she will hopefully only do 2 with 4 on licence. So will hopefully be out late next year.

Well done to all of you back at work very Envy as i sometimes feel like i could pull my hair out with 2 under 3. My boy turns 3 in 2 weeks though so will be starting nursery in 3 weeks. Can't believe it, he's so excited, not sure wether it's his fireman sam party or starting school that he's looking forward to most (bet you know which one i am). Really must sleep now. Night ladies

WeAreBorg · 07/11/2011 22:10

Evening,

Glad the first days were not too terrible. Yes hope choc was okay at work and her ears were not bothering her too much

wiggles can't recall any of your post other than a comment about MrW being good in bed . I'm sure you're a brilliant wife.

ponyo rubbish about the vapouriser thingy. I have given up re any kind of sleep training, N snuggles up to us in bed and we both really like it now.

40 well done re weight loss!

ledkr hope your DS is okay re kidney, is dialysis imminent? Sorry if you have already explained everything, my alzheimers is getting worse.

reastie that's very clever of Alice re clapping. Nate always stops when I say no, looks at me, grins, then carries on his evil ways. No idea re nursery question, have not sorted one yet!

He's awake! Byeee

tadjennyp · 07/11/2011 22:11

So glad all of you have had good days at work and nursery has gone fine! I hope everyone having a rubbish time of it with sleep/lack of it and illness gets some decent rest soon. Everything looks worse without 8 full hours, for me anyway. Dh is away this week too, so the dcs are watching Lady and the Tramp! Take care all x

janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 07:29

morning!

wiggles you are not a bad wife! What you are feeling is only natural, when my df took the jon he is in just now I was Sad because of all the time he is away. (I don't how i will cope when we manage to have an earth baby!)

restie call the hv back. I agree with the others, you are so pretty so please stop being down on yourself.

I'm all the back to workers had a good day!

Deliaskis · 08/11/2011 09:21

I know reastie & Ponyo check me out with my 'it will all be fine' thing....couldn't have imagined that a couple of months ago, had often thought I must be the most needy person on the thread.

Emski C had HF&M a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit of a pain but not the end of the world. I would say she had one day when she was a bit whingey/hard to please, had one restless night, and then got the spots the next day, and really didn't seem that bothered by them. They went after about a week. At our nursery you don't have to remove them for HF&M so I guess it's not regarded as as bad as chicken pox or whatever. So hope you guys don't get it, but if you do, hope it's not a complete nightmare for you. I didn't know though that despite being not serious, it is a risk for pregnant people (SIL is pregnant), so if you have any pregnant friends, then bear it in mind, and don't go near Deb 's sister!

D

Deliaskis · 08/11/2011 09:23

jane can I pm you about a childminding related query? It's not for me, it's a friend, and I don't want to ask on childminding as I don't 'know' them and want an objective opinon!

chocoroo · 08/11/2011 09:35

I'm popping on quickly while waiting for DP outside GP's....typically I am still half deaf with a horrible cough, DP has sinusitis and R has a rash and fever. So she has to stay away from nursery, DP is staying home anyway so once he is sorted I'll be going into work.

Romilly seemed to settle well, and I enjoyed work. She ate and napped so I was thrilled, even if it was at random times!

Sorry I haven't caught up, I was in bed for 8:30 last night!

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 09:39

Of course you can delia, you didn't have to ask!

Emski76 · 08/11/2011 12:49

Well, my little monkey was awake and crying on and off from 11.30 last night until 2 this morning. Not sure what it was, altho he did seem bunged up and has woken with a cold this morning. Am aware of the fact that i have bags under my eyes the size of England, and not quite sure how im going to make through the day!!

Choc, glad work went well for you and nursery went well for Romilly, shame that she's poorly though. I should have warned all you first time mummies that once the little ones start nursery they spend most of the time poorly. Ben's used to be poorly tummies, he get better over the end of the week and weekend then catch the bug again when he went back to nursery!

Delia, thanx for reassurance re H, F and M.....and by the way, I am the neediest person on this thread!!

janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 13:22

Oh no emski hope you are not too tired today.

ledkr I can't believe dilly's op is just next week, remember I will be holding your hand all the way through.

I have a head like a sieve today, sorry for not replying to you all. I will have a proper catch up later. Grin

NeedToCreepZZZ · 08/11/2011 13:22

Hello girls,
Seems to be a lot of hard times for people at the moment Sad
reastie you are a star, a beautiful woman, wife and mother and you need to start believing it. Please accept any help that's offered as you deserve it x

hubbard how are you feeling now? You've had such a tough time and sending you a big hug x

ledkr it's good to let people see that you are human and have a breaking point, you have helped me and so many others on here (and in rl no doubt) and you need a rest x

This stuff with OH is hard, he's finding it really tough and has his blood test and meeting with someone tomorrow. We're still not great and I can't get my friend out of my head (funeral on friday). Oh, and Ben has decided that he doesn't do sleeping anymore Hmm Confused

Must be one of the most unmnetty posts ever but x to everyone.

Deliaskis · 08/11/2011 13:40

NeedTo sorry Ben isn't sleeping on top of everything else you've got going on at the mo. Everything (from serious things to trivial things) is so much worse with no sleep.

Also sending xx to everyone. I feel a bit bad because everyone has been so nice and supportive to me when I have needed it, yet I feel a bit useless in trying to be helpful back, but maybe it's not about constructive advice as such, but more about knowing people are 'listening' and care.

Dx

janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 15:53

Can I join in with the group love? X and hugs to all. I know I'm not great at giving advice but I do have a fab listening ear and big shoulders to cry on.

needto I hope your friends funeral goes as well as possible and the day is gentle on you. Also Ben decides to sleep tonight.

hubbard86 · 08/11/2011 18:04

it's just one thing after another here in the hubbard house of horrors! Had to take f to physio today for a consultation about exercises to help build up muscle tone in her legs and encourage her to start moving. I was starting to worry as she refuses to weight bear on her right leg. The physio is extremely concerned as she has a considerable leg length difference and differences in the height of leg creases, couple that with not weight bearing means there's a problem. I now have to try and get freya an appt with the consultant (who has a 6month waiting list) as soon as possible. Already been on the phone today and left messages. Will ring again tomorrow and nag . I've felt there's something wrong for while and now i'm just so worried. I have a feeling her right hip is not right. The pavlik harness won't work for her now as she's getting too old. I'm scared she's going to need a closed or open hip reduction and a spica cast which means ops. Can't believe we're going through this again. I've had enough, i need a break.

Needto look after yourself on friday, will be thinking of you.
Led even wonder woman had time off occasionally give yourself a break dilly will be fine after her op.

Ps i'm pants at advice so sorry x

reastie · 08/11/2011 18:20

hubbard :( what a time you're having . I'm sure if you pester enough you can get that consultant apt soon - all these consultant types say they have a long waiting list but will always IME somehow magic up appointments for such matters as this. How;s your sister coping btw? Can you visit her?

needto I hope the apt goes OK tomorrow - do you go too or it it one for him on his own? Please let us know how he gets on.

ems nice early bath tonight

choc what a week to get back to work Confused

borg alice does the same re: grinning and carrying on regardless when I say no Hmm

ledkr how are you feeling re: upcoming ops?

No one has answered my question on nursery yet

janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 18:31

reastie I have no idea how the sleeping time at nursery is. I have a travel cot and prams for babies to speep in, They sleep in the dining room and I wash the sheets and blankets every couple of days.

hubbard I would keep on at the consultant until you get an appointment. Poor Freya, let us know how she gets on.

reastie · 08/11/2011 18:33

jane how are the wedding preps going? Getting stressed? May I suggest booking yourself a massage in the week before the wedding - was the thing I most needed Grin

hubbard86 · 08/11/2011 18:34

no clue on nursery reastie sorry. Sis seems to be ok can't really visit her as she's near manchester and i don't drive. I try to write when i can, we weren't very close as i disagreed with her behaviour and her choice of friends before she went inside. (i was right though)

janedoe25 · 08/11/2011 18:43

reastie the preps are all to plan, I am shocked at how organised I am! Just a few things needing to be picked up, I have my final fitting in saturday and a make up trial on friday. Table plan to emailed to venue and thats it! I'm not stressed about the wedding (yet). However I am very upset and angry about my parents behaviour, but that is a whole different thread!

How are you feeling today, has the hv called you back yet?

tadjennyp · 08/11/2011 19:10

I really hope you get that appointment soon hubbard, that must be so worrying for you.

Well done on getting everything organised jane! It will be a fantastic day!

Reastie - have you phoned back? Grin

Hope the little ones sleep better tonight for those having sleep problems at the mo. S is still waking up for night feeds, but I don't have to go out to work so at least I can laze around if needs be.

Deliaskis · 08/11/2011 19:10

reastie sorry missed your q about sleeping at nursery. At C's nursery, it's just one room, and believe it or not they all sleep there, but often at different times. They sleep on kind of reclined (flat) bouncy chairs, but they're all fleecy and snuggley, and then they put blankets on them which get washed each day. I never would have thought C would sleep there with all the noise but she does. She doesn't sleep for as long as she would at home (2 hours in her cot at lunchtime!), but has slept for over an hour in one go.

The nursery staff rock or otherwise soothe those that need it. They all seem to sleep at different times, whenever they want to really, but then I think as they move out of the baby room (between 12 and 18 months, basically when they're steady on their feet) they encourage them all to have one longish lunchtime sleep.

D

reastie · 08/11/2011 19:14

jane well done you being so well organised Grin

Thanks for the nursery q answers - was just something I was wondering about [clueless] . I wonder if they would do cc if a parent asked them to or if they'd say no as it would disturb the others Hmm

wigglesrock · 08/11/2011 19:26

hubbard big hug, thinking of you and Freya, when Olivia was born, her leg creases and her buttocks not lining up were her main reasons as well as being breech for her referral to the hip clinic, although nothing ever came of it. Nag, nag, nag and nag again for the appointment, ask for cancellations etc, make such a torture of yourself, that they'll give you a quick appt to get rid of you. Sometimes we just get one thing after another thrown at us, is like "oh for Gods sake, just give me a week without a disaster" Grin. Look at your lovely family, look at how much you've been through. You're a strong woman, you'll get through it and so will Freya if she is anything like her Mum xx

reastie in Sofias old creche, they didn't use cots, they had like mini matresses and all the babies used to play and then all try and have quiet time which resulted in a lot of sleeps. They also had in the room, little alcoves like changing rooms with saloon doors that individual children could go in. It sounds a bit weird but it worked Grin

jane I thought of you and the wedding today, was out with my sister and you getting married always reminds me of her wedding. Funny enough what I thought was hope no-one's giving our girl any bother Shock, bloody families. Oooh make up trial, I had never had my make up done by anyone until my sisters wedding, I really enjoyed it, which surprised me because I'm not a huge fan of being touched ie massages, nails etc.

emski and NeedTo Anna woke up at 11pm last night and didn't go back to sleep until 2am, she was in foul form, really moany, couldn't get comfy etc. It was a feckin' nightmare, she's sniffy, coughy etc. Spoke to GP this morning but still think its a mixture of teething, the cold and general awkwardness Grin She was in great form today though and is asleep now, but I am tres tired Grin

Emski76 · 08/11/2011 19:32

Reastie, nursery sleep question. At our nursery they have one room with five cots in it. I know with Noah they have rocked him or patted him to help him sleep but he just gets pissy so I think they leave him to it. I guess they would do a bit of cc if you asked but maybe only if your baby was on their own in the troop. Noah seems to be sleeping well there, which is a relief. When they move to tots they all sleep on little as on the floor together, I always find it amazing but they do sleep! Are you going to send Alice to nursery or is dh still not keen?

Hubbard, you are having such a hard time at the momentum poor you. I can imagine you must be so stressed and worried, I know I would be. Just keep on to those consultants and like someone else said I bet an appointment will pop up.

Jane, you are v organised, bet your excited now. I'm excited for you!

Led, what day is D's op? Hope your ok today.

Needto, a also thinking about you and the hard time your having. Hope Ben starts sleeping better for you again, and will be thinking of you on Friday.

Delia, I always feel that my advice is rubbish to you all but I think your right that it does help knowing we're all here for each other.

Fingers crossed our babies all sleep tonight. Love to all
