Morning,
Reastie, I do agree with Choc in part. I think you need to get started on the ad's, they will take a while to work but by the New Year you'll be starting to feel better. Please get help, if not for your then for Alice. I honestly believe that my depression and anxiety had been bad for years but that having Noah brought it to a head, and I almost think he was sent here to 'save me'. Sounds dramatic but I really do think that. The ad's and CBT have made me a better version if me and enabled me to cope with being a mother. Your hv sounds fairly helpful but then I think my hv is an angel as she was so supportive and fantastic with me. We are behind you and want you to feel better.

Enjoy your day Choc! You lucky thing. We're off to soft play with friends, yippee!

reastie · 02/12/2011 11:53

Morning guys. I admit driving to work this morning I did feel a bit like maybe I should start taking the ads, even if it's a half dose for a while, so it's not a definite no.... choc and ems I think you talk alot of sense and tbh if it wasn't me I would be thinking the same thing as you IYKWIM Blush

Rant alert, feel free to ignore but I've got to get it out there - went back to work today to talk through with my supply bits for the handover. Lots of things I could moan about but I can look past BUT I was Shock when she told me (she wasn't even going to tell me btw, it was only as I asked) that she hasn't been following my GCSE scheme of work all all and she's just been 'going through the text book' . Now, the core thing for teachers to do is to follow a scheme of work. I spent literally weeks writing this scheme of work when I was signed off and making it super detailed and cross referencing it to work sheets and activities so that it would be easy for her to follow. I cannot believe she has just ignored it and done her own thing - I am the head of department and she is filling in for me and as such it should be a basic requirement that she follows my scheme of work. So now she;s done everything in a completely different order and all of my lessons when I return I will have to plan from scratch, giving me hours of extra work as there's no way what I did can be salvaged. I am so upset and angry, especially as she said she would follow my schemed of work originally. So essentially in January I will be starting from scratch with a massively extra workload to reorganise everything. I actually nearly cried in the staff room when she said to me when I questioned her on why she didn't follow it 'well, you weren't here and I was' Angry . Honestly, I don't know if I can do this as I know this is just the tip of the iceberg. In delia speak she's a complete b@tch. I am so annoyed I'm tempted to post in AIBU to see what other teachers think of this.

Sorry Blush I did warn it was a rant. Can you tell I'm upset?! Well done if you've got to the end Grin

Emski76 · 02/12/2011 14:30

Firstly Jane, sorry AF has arrived. I think next month could be your lucky month!

Reastie, I would be as upset as you re work, more so by the womans reaction than anything else. Would it just be the rest of the school year you'd have to rethink (not that it's not a long time), if it is could you cope with six months are rethinking the work then settle into your routine for the future. I'd be really tempted to go higher eith this tho, if the girl covering my job hadn't followed my instructions she would have been in deep poopoo! What else are you expecting to have changed/gone wrong? Did you enjoy your job before? Do you think it's all so much worse because your feeling a bit low? Lots of questions I know, but I really want to help you. What I'd like to do in come to where you are and kick that won up the arse!

janedoe25 · 02/12/2011 14:39

Reastie I would be joining emski in the arse kicking queue! I am really Angry on your behalf regarding the b@tch woman, I would consider taking it to the head. Hope you are ok? X. Oh yay for Alice standing , where have all the tiny babies gone?

reastie · 02/12/2011 14:45

Thanks, I'm sure I'll feel better soon and worry what all my fussing was for but I've been crying all the time since coming home :( ems I can replan the rest of the academic year but it's just hours of extra unpaid and should be unnecessary work for me :( Plus I've checked what she has taught and she's barely covered anything so there's no way I can get everything in in time for their exams. I feel frustrated for myself and the extra work and stress but also for the students who will lose out thanks to her

ILovePonyo · 02/12/2011 14:51

reastie I asked dp (also a teacher) and fwiw he said you are deffo not BU, his words were "if you do the scheme of work for a supply teacher they should fucking well follow it" Shock Grin Its just not what you need right now, I know how stressful it canbe planning work and how long it takes. Have you started on the ad's yet?

Sorry got to go, A is crawling and crying again Hmm Oh and I think my theory about her sleeping well after nursery but not at other times is true, she was awake at 4am and didn't go back to sleep til after a bottle at 5am Shock

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 02/12/2011 18:48

Just testing out my christmas nn Xmas Grin Xmas Grin ho ho ho Xmas Wink

ponyo glad mrponyo agrees with me. Thinking seriously about ads now, which is more than I was a few days ago

wigglesrock · 02/12/2011 19:30

ChestnutsReastieing... love, love the new name Xmas Smile That's really disappointing about the teacher standing in for you xx Ps I agree with everything chocoroo said this morning.

jane Anna was mooching about in a pair of jeans and a vest this afternoon (we're v classy here Wink) and she looked like a toddler, never mind a baby.

chocoroo girls are more hyped up about staying with my mum next week when we're away Shock, the lure of baking Grin Although Sofia is on cloud nine after discovering she can wear the bridesmaid dress she got for my sisters wedding, as her snowflake costume in the concert. My idea of a white poloneck and white leggings didn't make the grade!!

debka · 02/12/2011 19:56

reastie that's fantastic!! Great namechange!! That is utter rubbish what that supply teacher has done. I know nothing about schools but would it be appropriate to complain about what she did?

choc hope you enjoyed your day off :)

ponyo Hmm to pils I think they're right Grin

Imy had her genius check today Grin, went really well, she is deffo a genius like her Mummy. Then in the pm we went to a school xmas bazaar and she sat on Father Christmas's knee in his grotto, girls I was BURSTING with pride, she was so brave and excited and took it very very seriously!

wigglesrock · 03/12/2011 06:00

Yes, yes I know its early, won't be about today, am working split shifts, but just wanted to wish hubbard and Freya good luck with the x ray appointment today xx. Either way things will be a lot clearer and we'll all be here for a bit of a rant/hand hold, whatever you need xx

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 03/12/2011 12:56

hubbard just saw fb update but will do a Xmas Biscuit emoticon to save the news for you to pass on

deb glad Imy is clearly a genius like her mum

Quick IABU as I know I can BU re: pil. I've seen PIL 5 times in the past 6 weeks - 2 of which were without DH while he was at work. During the week just gone DH said if we could arrange one more visit for them pre chrimbo as their last visit before boxing day, so they came this morning. They are trying to come again next week end but I put my foot down and said to DH no as that will be practically every week for nearly 2 months. I love that they like to see Alice but I find it all too much and find I get really anxious and depressed after each visit for a day or so. DH has got all moody with me about it. Really don't know whether I'm BU or not. I don't mind seeing them but the whole point of todays visit was for them to come pre christmas so feel annoyed at the goals shifting suddenly and being manipulated once more. Sorry, not explaining very well. Apoligies for another drama from me Blush

janedoe25 · 03/12/2011 13:47

debka well done to your little genius, so when is she on mastermind?

reastie I dont think you are being uinreasonable as it is affecting your pnd, have to told dh how it makes you really feel?

wiggles I hope your shifts go by quickly.

debka and reastie this if for you, today so far I have made some chocolate fudge and a millionaires shortbread, next up is blueberry muffins! The baking bug has hit me! Grin

hubbard86 · 03/12/2011 14:33

freyas hips are normal Grin she's just lazy. Have another xray in 3months to check, but there's no physical reason why she's not crawling. I'm so relieved. Thank you all for your support.

janedoe25 · 03/12/2011 15:56

Ahh hubbard super news! I hope you can manage to relax some now and have a good old sleep.

Emski76 · 03/12/2011 17:21

Yippee to your news Hubbard! Great, fantastic, wonderful news!!!

Reastie, your in laws are sneaky monkeys, and you have caught them out! Dh and I love having a weekend to us and the kids without anyone else

Grannyapple · 03/12/2011 20:35

Hi ladies..sorry not been on much...had a horrible bug all last week (all shivery & keep feeling queasy & nauseous ..only just started to eat properly again today).

reastie crackin pics
debka wow well done on your weight loss..you'll be fading away soon!
wiggles glad u got ur teeth sorted...nowt worse than toothache

Christmas tree went up today...& somewhat surprisingly N ain't bothered by it at all Grin. Will see how long that lasts...

Where is ledkr??

ILovePonyo · 03/12/2011 20:43

Yay hubbard! and Grin at "shes just lazy"! What a relief for you though.

deb aww to the santa visit and another yay for your little brain box, hardly a surprise though :) Oh and Hmm at you agreeing with my pil I know you and they have a point Grin

reastie YANBU. End of. Its tiring having guests whoever they are and if you need a bt of your own time for a change then you are entitled to it. Tell dh to take A to see them if he really wants to, let you chill on your own. Love the new name btw.

wiggles Grin at the snowflake costume, erm what is wrong with that?! Fussy kids eh. Aww at Anna the toddler, she is tall/long isn't she?!

Hi everyone else. I am tiiiired. I finished work at 1am Shock then A was awake for a bottle at 3am, then up at 7.30 ready to journey to my mums to see family (which was very nice). Am def not staying in the 2nd job, am going to tell them tomo wish me luck Grin

Right off to read Glamour magazine (highbrow Hmm) and go to bed soon night all xx

Grannyapple · 03/12/2011 21:41

Forgot to say hubbard what a relief for you!

wigglesrock · 04/12/2011 07:00

hubbard fantastic news Grin, off to work again

PS Guess where I am going tomorrow? Grin

chocoroo · 04/12/2011 09:23

Morning all,

wiggles and ponyo You both seem to work your asses off. You're making me feel lazy although next week is my last four day week :(

hubbard Thank goodness for lazy babies! Great news about Freya, you can relax now!

granny Hoping to get a Chrostmas tree today too. I have a feeling R will not be so well behaved as N though!

reastie I'm glad you weren't offended by my advice. I think the PIL thing is a bit sneaky but you are right to be grateful that they want to see A so much. Re: the anxiety over their visits, can we please chalk that up as another reason why you should start the PND treatment? If they do come over next weekend there is no reason why you have to stay with them all. You could do some Christmas baking, pop shopping or anything like that which will make your life simpler. Turn it into something to look forward to - an hour or three to yourself!

I'm hiding out in my friend's spare room as we went to see Dirty Dancing in Manchester last night. It was awesome! Knackered though as still didn't manage to lie in really and I'm starving.

ledkr · 04/12/2011 09:46

Hi all. you may have guessed my internet is down, should be back online next week tho. its a hassle and I have to pay to use phone. no big news. dilly got worse and worse with her sleeping,we were up half the night and really fed up. I was even thinking of clearing off! Cue 2 days of cc which seems to be working, only woke once last night,we are not giving bottles just soothing periodically, touch wood its working.
Have had pil woes too. arranged to come next weekend then brother found out there was a footy match hed like to see so invited himself! we have 3 adults to put up and no spare room! so I did the only thing a self respecting girl can do and arranged to go shopping in brum with el then stay at my mates! leave them to it. have no idea where they will sleep but not my problem. reastie that's what you should do, just go out. Can't really tell dh his parents can't visit but don't have to be there.

debka · 04/12/2011 10:53

Morning all,

Just got up for the second time today, first was at 4.45 yes that early. I felt rough as a bear's arse because DH and I had gone out for a meal for my birthday last night and didn't get to bed till late. God bless him though, he looked after Imy when I put S down for her nap and I slept for another 2 hours. Imy's at my mum's tomorrow so S is going in her sister's room and getting Left when she wakes at evil o'clock.

ledkr don't know if you've read back but we've all been whingeing about how much we miss you! Glad CC is working for you. Good on you for your Brum plans Grin

hubbard what brilliant news, what a damn relief, lazy baby!! Actually that's a little bit funny...

Sorry for poorly people and overworked mums... :(

Had lovely lovely birthday yesterday, spent £50 in New Look on new clothes in a size smaller, one of which a dress this one , I wore last night. I can't remember the last time I wore a frock, my wedding, obv, but before that? No idea. Anyway I felt gorgeous!!

Best be off, S just woken up and I'm taking her to church. Good days, all...

ILovePonyo · 04/12/2011 11:01

Morning all, ledkr nice to to see you back but boo to lack of sleep and pil - enjoy brum though, good plan!

deb HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thanks Good for you with the new dress, shame you didn't get a nice big sleep on your b'day too though Wink

wiggles ooh tomorrow are you going to... work again?! Wink Enjoy gay paree, am rather jealous Envy

choco yuk to you having to work a full week from now on, bet you were loving your Fridays off! Hope you've managed to get some food by now Grin

Well A slept til 6.15 but no waking for a bottle so that was fine by me, she's now having a massive big sleep, its been an hour already Shock Happy sunday everyone, hope you're all having nice days.

Oh, and A has v red spotty cheeks so may well be teething (finally!)

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 04/12/2011 11:15

Morning

I was starting to think you had deserted up Shock . I think you should put a tent in the garden for the BIL Wink . Or maybe to solve all the probs get PIL to buy a caravan so they can accommodate themselves when they come Grin

deb happy bday and Grin to the size smaller. Love the dress - now you'll have to have time out from mummyhood to wear it out a bit Wink

Re: PIL tbh I feel a bit like ems in that I just want a week end on our own as a family without them. I don't see why DH should always say yes when they try to invite themselves over, it's not like we never invite them. He feels like he can never say no to them (a bit like ledkrs DH).

VERY festive here - christmas decorations all up. Have made a 'happy christmas' sewn garland and a felt christmas cushion this year Grin

Very tired here too btw but mainly as I seem to have insomnia Confused - less thsn 3 blinking hours sleep on Friday night Sad

janedoe25 · 04/12/2011 11:32

Ledkr glad you are ok and happy to hear cc is going well.

Debka happy birthday! Yay for the new clothes! Grin

Wiggles have an amazing time with Dh in Paris you lucky thing!

Reastie I saw your decorations on fb, one word. Fab. Grin

Ponyo, yay for anyas big sleep! Hopes her teeth don't bother her too much.

Hi granny, hope you and Nate are well.

Oh meant to say to wiggles, the Belfast wheel is in George square just now.
