New thread just for you star!

Well, hopefully not just for you, or it could get a bit boring talking to yourself Grin.

He has or has use of dd's all of that myjob except for playmobil, which I fear would result in thousands of small pieces everywhere.

We have got him a football goal so that toys can take over the front garden as well as the back Hmm.

I second playmobil. It's fantastic. The playmobil 123 stuff is slightly chunkier and has fewer small parts (intended for younger children).

I just checked out that farm. It is lovely! Dh has been looking for one for himself Q for a couple of years now!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/11/2011 14:10

He has his own scooter.
He has seen at least one of the toy story films, but I don't think he'd know any of the characters from them.
not sufficient interest for a camera, and dd doesn't use hers much so he could borrow that if he wanted.
We got him the slighter younger leapfrog letters thing for his birthday.
In the bath they mostly just like pouring water from jug to floor jug.
We have a gorgeous wooden farm from gltc.
They have got dd this and ds2 some wooden kitchen equipment to go with the kitchen that we are getting him (Big Jigs saucepans, kettle, casserole, fry pan, Wooden dairy set, sandwich set, wooden mixer, steak, salmon, sausage, bar-b-que set, fried egg, etc. etc).

Csws your house is like a toy shop! Grin
Does he have a guitar/drums? Q loves his guitar and keyboard.

Honeymoonmummy · 24/11/2011 19:07

Oh I like the idea of the craft box pistachio, pops would love that. I've recently found a good craft website - baker Ross or something like that?

Purpleprickles · 24/11/2011 19:24

Hi all, CSWS ds has a Scoot bike which my brother brought him last year. He is just becoming more able to ride it now and really enjoys it. I'm not sure how much it cost though. He also got a 'build it' set from ELC this bday which he loves and I would recommend.
HMM we use Baker Ross for school and PTA things. Yellow moon is also good oh and the £1 shop for craft bits.
All ok here, ds has cough and cold but just the usual Winter stuff. I'm taking him to my parents on the train tomo night, wish me luck Smile

HavePatience · 24/11/2011 20:05

Pp can you link the scootbike? FIL wants to build Q a pedal plane (his job is working on airplanes)... But do expensive to send over not to mention BIG!

I always find tesco cheap for art craft stuff. What a brilliant idea with that box!

Q always plays "shop" so dh might build him a mini set of 3 tiered shelves (with leftover wood from stuff in house) so he can play properly. He loves setting out his merchandise.

Q has perked up and fever now broken. Dh home with him yesterday and me from 10.30 today. Cough still awful but at Least he's not droopy and hot anymore. Everyone comments on this cough. It is awful. Dr says lungs sound clear. Could it be something needing an X-ray? It's definitely chesty but with bark toward the end. And some fits last a full minute or a bit more. Sad I just don't want anything overlooked iyswim. My dm passed from lung cancer (non smoker) when I was 14, and I worry immensely over respiratory stuff,.. I've probably mentioned that a million times before.

HavePatience · 24/11/2011 20:05

How far away are your parents, PP?

Purpleprickles · 24/11/2011 21:20

HP it's no surprise you worry about coughs but I think I would go with the Dr's diagnosis but keep an eye on him and take him back to have his chest checked as much as you feel is needed. If it reassures you my youngest brother had a constant cough but not asthma related. He had loads of check-ups and the Dr's could find no reason for it. Our neighbour even brought back holy water from Lourdes to try and cure it! He just grew out of it in the end but it sounded terrible and people would always comment. He is now a strapping 6ft 24yr old.
I'm not sure how to link via my phone but you could try googling "scoot" as it's the brand name. I will link next time I'm on my laptop though. Smile

Purpleprickles · 24/11/2011 21:22

Oh and most importantly I'm glad Q is perking up! My parents are in Shropshire in the Midlands so about 4hrs on the train including changes Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/11/2011 21:35

PP - dh has inherited dd's islabikes (best brand there is for children's bikes) balance bike and her first proper bike (which he rides with stabilisers) already.
We bought him the build it starter set for his birthday (and it was then in half price sale a few weeks later - grrr).
You can see why we're so stuck! But thank you all for the suggestions so far and do keep them coming :).

Sorry that Q's chest is still causing him/you angst HP. I can't really think of anything else to suggest.

pistachio - I'm slightly muddled about which bikes you have, so since we're on isla let's talk models. We have a rothan, a CNOC14, and a beign 20 small which is dd's christmas present, but she's had it early. She was very very nearly big enough for the beign 20 large, but we figured that we may as well get the small so that it could be handed down when they are all ready to move up. That was the bike that she came off last weekend, and her fall managed to tear the saddle, break a reflector, trash her bell and misalign her gears (so 2nd is now 3rd etc (or vice versa - I forget which way round dh said it was)).

I think that ds would like this, but I don't think we physically have room to put it up in the house anywhere except perhaps the living room, which it would then take over :(.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 24/11/2011 22:49

Why is the islabike so good? They seem expensive for something that will last a couple of years. We're getting pops a bike for Xmas.

HavePatience · 24/11/2011 22:49

Costumes, csws? Q would love more dressing up stuff.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/11/2011 22:53

lightweight
good components (adult bike quality - not just pressed steel - scaled down for small hands/feet)
small frames with large wheels which makes them easier to ride

And they might have a big initial outlay, but they resell on ebay for only fractionally less than the full price, so if you don't trash them then they only really cost you a bit.
