New thread just for you star!

Well, hopefully not just for you, or it could get a bit boring talking to yourself Grin.

They have bought the wigwam myjob, and my brother has bought a cowboy outfit. I will prob suggest an indian girl outfit for him to get for dd.

I have got the poorly tummy that ds1 had earlier in the week, so was also up in the night (as well as to feed ds2, obv).

Sorry to hear lots of us are having a hard week. I really hope all the illnesses clear up soon.

Myjob is there nothing the dr can give you? It seems like you have been battling this for too long. Are you stocking up on multi vitamins and spinach?

Ds has, until today, continued to be a nightmare, tantrums over wanting to eat 4 yogurts, wanting to make tyre marks on the kitchen floor with his bike (WTF??) Today I've been on strike so we've spent the day together and he's been an angel. I doubt this will continue but it's lovely to have some respite and enjoy my child. Thank you to all the kind words in my hour of need. I'm feeling quite unhappy with work this academic year which then of course impacts on everything and the working mum guilt tied with tantrums makes it all feel worse. Sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But today was a good day so hurrah for that Smile

HavePatience · 30/11/2011 20:39

Hooray, PP!
I try to focus on the good moments as well. The tantrum moments tend to make me out of character. He was wriggling and whining and not wanting to put his coat on leaving cm today and I was hissing "stop it! Stop it now! Stop it or santa's elves will stop making your doll!" at him and looked up and cm had seen/heard Blush
She is so good and I felt awful. I will say, though, that I am much more tolerant of other people's children acting in this manner than my own. I can also tune out whinging and crying of other children if necessary but not my own.

HP we sound very similar Grin I find myself making mad threats which professionally I'd frown upon. I also find it easier to deal with the kids at school but I just think it's because we are emotionally tied to our own children and they know how to push our buttons.

On the topic of toys and Christmas, J was singing me Christmas songs he'd learnt at nursery today and apparently one of them is "jingle bells jingle bells you won't get any toys" GrinGrin

Myjob I'm glad the dr is happy with you. Just think at the end of this you'll have a super immune system. Some years I seem to catch everything going too.

ronshar · 30/11/2011 22:10

I have every sympathy for you Pistachio. Number three is sent to break you. In every sense. I feel like I am only now really waking from a long nightmare of no sleep and relentless childcare.
It gets better. I do second the one day at a time theory.

All the same here. W gets more willfull every day. He new favourite phrase is "so so so sorry mummy I so so sorry. I promise I not do it again." Normally he tells me this while doing exactly the thing he is saying sorry for!!! Children are very strange.

Oh dear. Nearly missed/lost our elf on the shelf. Tesco and Ben/holly save the day Grin

Purpleprickles · 01/12/2011 21:30

Yay it's December, I can get excited about Christmas and that there are now 15 days til hols Smile

Pistachio glad P is getting better. I hate giving medicine as it always means a huge fight and I totally get your fb idea of just throwing the meds on the carpet Smile

HavePatience · 02/12/2011 20:36

I have a girl doll and a boy doll under my desk at work. One from us and one from Santa. John Lewis gift vouchers paid for them and I still have some leftover. Smile I can't wait to see his face.
Santa train (booked months ago) at local mini railway on Sunday. I love this magical season. Q goes crazy happy whenever he sees Xmas lights anywhere! It's great!

Myjob, I got baby annabell's brother ( eyes open and shut but he does nothing more). And a John Lewis girl baby with dummy and extra outfit. I have saved up John Lewis vouchers (gifts) so just used those. I'm sure he'll be on love Christmas morning! :)

Pistachio well done getting all of that done!

Pp do you break up on 16th? We do, but dh goes until 20th. Silly, IMO. Who will be listening those two days??

A friend of mine does: "something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read".
I'll be adopting that for Q in a year or two I think. I love that little rhyme! :)

Purpleprickles · 04/12/2011 20:32

More Christmas shopping here today Xmas Smile Dh and I went to the new Westfield shopping centre in Stratford whilst my inlaws had ds. It was heaving but we got loads done. I still have a few bits to get and some things to buy for dh but am pleased it's nearly finished. Oh and none of it is wrapped yet! DS has two books, a fireman sam head torch Xmas Grin, extra train track, a train turntable, engine shed and Postman Pat dominoes. We also do a stocking (tradition in my family) which is one of my Dad's socks full of silly unwrapped gifts so I got bits for ds' from Hawkins Bizzare today.

HP we finish on the 16th too...yay! I'm so glad we are finishing then as my SIL gets married on the 17th and is having my Niece christened then too. I'm in charge of making christening cupcakes so need to be in wind down mode by the thursday so I can get them done. Thankfully by Thursday our School Christmas Fayre and Nursery nativity will be over and I should be able to relax work wise for the last week.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/12/2011 22:17

Nice rhyme HP!

arf at renaming Hawkins Bazaar to Bizarre!

Mad mad busy week coming up, so I may be around even less than I usually am.

I bought dh a head torch before we had Q because he would always fumble with a regular torch to read in bed Grin

ronshar · 05/12/2011 21:39

HP I was reading your last post as all a bit rude. I had to re read it again!
W is poorly sick. Bad chest infection. Poor boy can't get off the sofa.

HavePatience · 05/12/2011 22:09

Grin to last post
Poor W Sad it's dreadful being like that poor baby. Sad
