Sorry, I've jumped in with the new thread! Its been running through my head for the last week!

OP posts:

I was going to say that I only have a boys red book so might not be as useful but as Debs75 has answered I don't need to! 3oz in 3 weeks sounds ok to me though sassy34264. I'm not good with poo or sick, it's dh's job if he's here :)

I have finally managed to run the full 5k!! Was a really good run but followed by eating my tea in 5mins and rushing back out of the door for a meeting so not much time to enjoy it!

Luke has a new phrase, not a great one but still cute! He says 'i want that!'

newmum001 · 15/03/2012 07:33

Grace's latest phase is "no like it" which basically means she spends a lot of time crying at toys she used to love, people she used to like and basically being a pain in the bum! Just trying to ignore it really, I don't want to indulge her cause it'd mean not leaving the house. I'm hoping she'll grow out of It quickly! Her hair has gone wild too, really curly and out of control but will she let me put a bobble or clip in it? No she will not she "no likes" clips and bobbles!

Congrats on the run cinnamon!

Thanks Mammy

Oh no Sassy! I have yet to experience that with either of my 2, but I send sympathising thoughts!

I'm with you debs, DS was a smearer too, and if I don't buy those flushable botty wipes, I have no end of washing to do... ugh.

And again, sick makes me sick!

Well done on the run cinnamon that's a really good achievement!

I took the dog out while I was on the bike yesterday, and Mary loved it! She was in the trailer on the back, and Archie was tied to the side, and he towed us all the way down the path (we have a really good stretch of dual carriageway with good paths next to them) so he really was pelting it along! Mary was squealing and laughing in the trailer, and DS was frantically scooting to keep up with us! Really good fun, and I might do the same again later, as I have DS's friend round for tea, and it can get quite noisy in my tiny house with 2 rambunctious boys lol

Feeling a lot more positive this week - again, I've kept myself busy, and I haven't had time to think anything negative. I visited my Nanna on Tuesday, went to church last night (which I haven't managed every week because my killer SPD is back), and went to toddler group today. Tomorrow I have Slimming World in the morning, and then helping at the school with the Mother's Day shop in the afternoon. Then Saturday we're going to Horse World in Bristol (yay! I get to feed my gee-gee addiction!), then off out to dinner with my church Youth group and a visiting Apostle, then Apostle service on Sunday! Whew! Jam-packed, but I love it as I prefer to have something to aim for every day. And on Monday, I have my next scan... thinking about getting a pic or two, but the hospital have doubled the prices... £10 and you get a minimum of 2... Hmm bargain(!) (it was £5 for Mary, and we got 5 photos. Am not happy!)

Maybe I should dip into my pushchair fund and get some - sometimes that helps, having something physical to look at

Debs75 · 15/03/2012 16:10

JP get some pics, even if it doesn't help now they are a lovely keepsake and it is nice to look at the 4 sets of mine and compare babies.
What's Horse World like in Bristol? We are going to Hampshire for a week in August and I would love to find somewhere horsey for me and the dd's to have a look around

Cinnamon well done on the run. I am buying some new trainers next week so I can start the couch to 5k.

Lucy is trying to knock off her naps, anyone else doing this? and how are you coping?

cinnamongreyhound · 15/03/2012 17:23

I agree, you should get them JParkson!!

Sorry no advice Debs75 I had to stop ds1 having naps at almost 4 as he was starting school and Luke happily has 2-3hrs a day, he has about 11hrs at night don't know how that compares to Lucy.

newmum001 · 16/03/2012 08:10

Jparkson I would definitely get a couple of pictures.

Deb no advice re naps here either, grace has an hour at 11ish but only if we're home. If we're out she struggles to switch off and fall asleep but will still have a little nap but much later in the day. Funily enough I saw a thread the other day about naps and the age at which lo's dropped a nap varied from 15 months to 4 years. How many naps is she having?

Grace has started saying "love you mummy" and if you say it to her first she says "I love you too" sooo cute!

Happy friday everyone, hope you all have a lovely weekend!

sassy34264 · 16/03/2012 10:25

debs how is she trying to stop them? i put mine to bed at 12pm everyday and they sleep till 1.30-2pm and then have lunch. its a bit of a crap time to have a nap, it was 11am but jacob started to not be tired and would keep isobel up, and when i tried to give them their lunch first they would both fall asleep in the high chairs!
so i would try to just move it later.
i took them for a walk on their reins yesterday and it made them zonk out for their nap. about 0.4 miles there and then back.

cinnamon you managed to push me last night at the gym. decided i would try to run 5k and did it! i had just been running a mile everytime but doing it faster and faster. didnt think i would be able to do it yet.

well done to you for doing it. x

Debs75 · 16/03/2012 11:58

She sleeps roughly 11 hours a night, 8.30 to 7,30. She would sleep longer but dd2 wakes her up. Today she has had a nap at 10 coming back from shopping, had about an hour. Usually it is an afternoon one she likes but she just isn't wanting to go to sleep and if i take her in the pram it takes longer for her to nod off . I am lucky with her though, dd2 was knocking off naps from 5 months old and was dreadful to get to sleep unless we were in the car

JParkson · 16/03/2012 13:54

Hi Debs, I have no idea what it's like! lol

Here's their website; we're going mainly because we bought a deal from Groupon, family ticket for £12.

It might be a bit of a trek from Hampshire - Where abouts are you staying? We're in North Wiltshire, and it'll take us a good hour to get there, as it's on the other side of Bristol from where we are.

Hampshire is good for horse riding though, and you might be able to find a nice little riding centre where you could go for a trek or something? There used to be a lovely centre just north of us, but I haven't heard from them in a bit and I'm not sure if they're still open - their prices were fabulous, £10 or £11 for a junior 1/2 hour lesson, £14ish for an adult, or £14/£17 for an hour (lesson and hack)

I can try and find out if they're still around if you like?

Speaking of horses (those on FB will have seen this!) Mary likes them! She was watching the Cheltenham racing with me, and now whenever she sees a horse, she starts making whinnying noises! So cute!

She's not really speaking yet, but she's making lots of noises, and seeing what responses she gets :)

As for naps, I forget when she dropped her early nap - she was sleeping through from about 7ish weeks (7.30 to 7ish), and then had an hour/hour and half nap at 9, and then another good couple of hours after lunch (usually 12.30 or so). She dropped her morning nap by herself, before I went into hospital, so before she was 9 months old. But she very much needs her afternoon nap.

If she misses it because we're out and about, she'll be in bed by 6.30 by the latest, otherwise she's ratty and horrible.

JParkson · 16/03/2012 13:56

This might give you an idea or two to do as well (I want to do the carriage ride through Windsor park!!)

MammyG · 16/03/2012 22:21

cinnamongreyhound · 17/03/2012 23:21

Yay, well done sassy34264, had to miss my run Friday and have missed it. Will be out tomorrow though :)

I had such a lovely day Friday, was a day of doing exactly what I wanted ( apart from morning school run). Took Luke to a local farm with a newly found friend of mine and her ds. He loved it so much more than I thought he would and he was so good! He also learned 'tractor' from the other little boy we went with! Check out my video on fb its so funny! We then went to school to get ds and off to swim, followed by pizza hut for tea. Only negative was that dh couldn't get home early to come but I loved spending time with my boys :). Today has been total opposite, course 9.30-4.30, picked boys up then went home to put things away, hang washing, walk dog and cook dinner and came out to babysit where I am now. Had to get my mum to have the boys all day and sit with them after I left as dh didn't get home until 7pm and I haven't seen him since 8.30 this morning :(.

Happy mothers day to you all, hope you have a lovely day!! We're going to my mums at 1 and she is ordering dominos (her choice!) for lunch, will be nice to relax and see my family. Ds1 has made me a card at school with a heart made from pasta on the front Grin

Dixiebell · 18/03/2012 21:15

Happy mothers' day, mummies! Arlo made me a wooden flower which he painted himself with a photo of him in the middle. Made me smile that the childminder said 'he's been working very hard on your present'! Hope everyone has had some chance at least to relax today. :)

Dixiebell · 18/03/2012 21:17

Oh, on naps... Arlo's still having 2 a day. Is he the only one? He could prob manage with one but he goes down fine for both. I know he's getting quite old to do this still but does it matter?

Debs75 · 19/03/2012 15:26

Had a lovely day yesterday, took the girls to my mums and had cake, made by me, and tea.

DP let me lie in and then brought me tea and toast in bed,. which all 4 of them shared. We had lots of cuddles then I kicked them out so I could go andget some proper breakfast.

Talking of naps Lucy has had 3 good naps this weekend. It all depends on when she got up, if she woke in the night and if I catch her sleep cues at the right time. I think I just need to take more notice of her when she gets tired

comixminx · 19/03/2012 20:57

I lost the thread! But have just caught up a bit now.

Mother's Day was tarnished for me by Aphra having caught the tummy bug that's doing the rounds - she vomited twice on Thursday night / Friday morning, and then once more on Friday when DP had her. She seemed a bit better but then it went onto to really copious diarrhoea, the sort you have to pop her in the bath for... poor thing! Sunday wasn't all bad but it did feature a pretty epic poo (not as bad as today's though - and that was when we thought everything was all over!).

Other than that - can't remember if I said we were moving house, well that was 2 weeks ago and we're doing pretty well as far as things like emptying a lot of the boxes from the removal company is concerned. The house is looking pretty liveable in and we definitely feel like we made a good move - though of course we had that sinking feeling at the time of moving, like "yikes, what have we done, we left a beautifully set-up house and now we have to do it all over again...". Slight shame is that the kitchen looked lovely on the surface - granite worktop, posh ceramic sink - but it's not laid out very effectively and efficiently, and the cupboards aren't actually very good quality. Oh well. It's not the key thing.

Mind you we just had the electrics checked and I'm sure that's going to be a bit of a shocker bill-wise! Bottom line is that it was all up to code when originally done, but everything's moved on now and as soon as you want to make any changes to the set-up, as we do (new shaver socket in bathroom, new sockets in most rooms in the house) you need to do quite a few things to bring it up to the new code. Bah.

Nap-wise - Dixe, I wouldn't worry at all if Arlo has two naps a day - I'd love it if Aphra did! She does sometimes, like when we're on holiday.

BeaditAli · 20/03/2012 09:17

Hello Lovely mums! Feels forever since I've caught up or posted properly. Glad everyone he'd a lovely weekend..... Cinnamon sorry about the cat incident. Strangely our neighbour's cat died on the same day though curled up on a sheep skin rug during the night so quite peacefully really. Jack will really miss him!
Had a mental Mother's Day but just exhausted after Center Parcs the week before I think which was fab so not too fussed about a stressful day at the end of it really.... And Jack is at his grandparent's today so I'm considering a shoulder massage at our local salon [sceptical]
All part of my new regime....... Trying to look after myself after being politely told off by a woman in Fenwicks after I told her I use Radox on my face and no moisturiser at all. Hahahahaha I got a load of Clarins freebies though!

Had a nice two weeks really........ Weekend in Newcastle followed by 5 days at Center Parcs then a weekend of family stuff. It was due though! Until then it had been 9 months since I'd left Yorkshire! No wonder I wanted to move house!
Jealous of your new project/house comix Envy

Nap wise Jack has been having one for 3 months or so I think..... Usually after lunch for around an hour and a half.
He's started saying animal names again having stopped and just doing the sound effects. Haven't had a "quack" yet! Grin
He has about 30 words now and understands lots more of what I say but not joining any words together and no linking words like "this" "that" etc Grace sounds like a genius! Grin
My favourite is "giraffe" which he says so correctly it amazes me! That's a tricky one isn't it!?! Haha

Still no bump here.... We are half heartedly trying but I figure I'm too knackered to try enough! Thinking of nursery for Jack for a day or two as I'm struggling a bit with work/house etc. felt so guilty yesterday that I'd spent my day cleaning around Jack and doing odd jobs and not fully concentrating on Jack's playing/learning iykwim!?

sassy do J and I walk with you on their reins or... Like Jack.... All over the place in circles and in the wrong direction??

Sorry for blabbing..........

JParkson · 20/03/2012 10:46

I have pics!

Give me a few mins to load them on my profile... (if I can remember how to do it!)

Mother's Day was different for me, as I was up at 7 baking a cake... (what's wrong with me?!) lol No, we had a lovely district service that morning and I meant to do the baking the night before but I'd been out to dinner with our Apostle and our local Youth, so didn't get home till gone 10!

Horseworld didn't happen, mainly because the Youth needed supervising while their parents were having a service, but also we overslept! So we're going this week instead :)

Still, I'm looking forward to it!

BeaditAli · 20/03/2012 11:09

Does anyone own this Primark scarf? Jack's beloved Raggy

JParkson · 20/03/2012 11:13

aww ali that's so cute! No, I do have scarves, but none like that.

Mary favourite is a toy she got for Christmas - her very own stuffed Dalmatian! It was in Matalan, and my brother got it for her - she loves it! It changes name between Ba, Dooie and Doy, but whenever she gets her mitts on it, she gives it a massive cuddle, and kiss, and takes it everywhere for all of 5 mins!

JParkson · 20/03/2012 11:14

The photos are on btw

BeaditAli · 20/03/2012 11:18

Happy birthday Saoirse Grin x

BeaditAli · 20/03/2012 11:20

I'm on a hunt JP ..... My stocks are running low and I can't find it in any shops anymore Sad
