Hi all, sorry I've been very sporadic on here recently. We're moving house very soon (6th March!) and also we've just come back from hols (so patito's good weather doesn't make me jealous!). We were in Tenerife, which was apparently colder than usual for the time of year, but we had a couple of lovely warm days and overall it was a lovely change compared to the cold weather we were having before that. Amazing looking place - it's a volcanic island so it's all very dramatic landscape-wise. Good food too, Aphra ate really well and a great range - fish, meat, veg, fruit, bread. She always loves yoghurt too and there was enough tasty flavours so that was ok too.
Hard to catch up with everyone's comments but for Bang's question on what others are doing daily - Aphra is waking up anytime between 6:00 and 7:30 (on a very good day for us!) and napping normally once during the day but on hols she was having two naps, a morning and afternoon one. If she has two naps it's a 2 or 2.5 hour one in the morning and about an hour one in the afternoon. She comes into bed with us and has a feed unless she's had a bottle of cows milk very recently (DP gives her a bottle in the night or early morning, and sometimes if it's right towards getting up time it can overlap a bit) and then plays with my iPhone or iPad - she's getting really good at playing with some of the games by herself, and then other ones she wants us to do so she can watch. Has anyone else tried Toca Doctor? It's a lovely little app with some simple puzzles and she really likes it. She's recently started to "play" Angry Birds and in playing it for her, she's got DP hooked too!
What else? She does still have an afternoon feed but not every day - it's particularly if she is ready for an afternoon nap and then she feeds to sleep sometimes. After our dinner it's time for her bath which normally she loves, but she seems to get very thrown by change in this area, so when we ran her a bath in the place in Tenerife she was screaming and crying and really not wanting to go in at all. In the end I got in too and gave her a feed! But normally I just give her a quick feed to sleep. Dunno how much she's getting nowadays to be honest, but she's still keen and I'm fine with it, though I do get some soreness on the nipples sometimes. Debs, how did you find feeding your DD before Lucy was born - were you keen to carry on, or her, or both?
Sorry this is so long now! Mammy, glad that Phoebe is better now and hope things get better for you overall too - I'm sure that once you are less tired the work colleague will get easier to handle. And lumpy, hope Olly is better very soon too. xxx
