Oh what a weekend!! Stayed home friday to mind Phoebe. She was fighting a temp all day. She was listless all weekend and not eating at all. She was drinking water tho. Got another cream on saturday for her bum, an anti fungal cream. By sunday it was a tiny bit better but then the cough started. So had to bring her to the doc on sunday. Poor thing has a bit of a tummy bug, diarrohea and an ear and throat infection! She is on an antibiotic and pain killers etc. She was still so listless today but finally ate a bit of yoghurt this eve and looked up and laughed with ther cousins. My poor pet and she is still so good!!! Wrecked tired heading into work today...hate that!
hopefully she will be getting back to normal tomorrow. Thankfully DH is at home this week so no worries there!

sassy34264 · 14/02/2012 09:06

oh god newmum only just seen your post. i always ring nhs direct for stuff like that. hope she is ok? x

mammyg poor phoebe. hope she gets better soon. x

newmum001 · 14/02/2012 09:48

I never even thought of doing that sassy how shit am I :) she's fine anyway. She only licked it but she really pulled her face. I would too tbh it must taste bloody awful.

I've got an unexpected day to myself, dp's mum has taken grace for the day so I'm going to see if I can get my hair cut and go shopping for a dress for saturday night. Or I might just sit on my arse all day and drink coffee!

Mammy hope phoebe is feeling better, poor little thing she must be feeling rotten!

Grace asked to go on her potty last night and sat on it for ages looking like she was going to have a wee but didn't and 2 seconds later she wee'd in the bath haha!

Hi everyone (it's Saoirse in disguise!). I haven't caught up so just marking my place and will read back soon! Smile

lumpylumps · 14/02/2012 19:03

Newmum I wouldn't have done anything if it was only a lick! She'll not do it again! ugh!!!! Hope you got your hair done!

mammy Poor Phoebe. she really is suffering. Hope you're ok. Not forgetting the time of year for you.

We've had a lovely couple of days. I came of the contraceptive injection last month (not for that reason Grin) Its the only reason I can think of as to why I feel so great. I've got lots more energy and I'm not feeling half as depressed & haven't had any of my horrible thoughts since my panic attack! The extra energy could also be down to the fact that the clock I bought ds1 seems to be working. He's still waking at half 5 ish but he stays in his room! Olly still wakes for milk but because Ds1 is quiet he's going back to sleep. I'm actually getting to sleep till 7am!!!

Sassy so pleased to hear about your sil and that your dh is home for good.

Anyone doing anything for valentines day??

I wouldn't have worried either newmum001! Luke wants to sit on the toilet all the time, mostly I just put him in his trousers and he grins so proudly at me! Good to get them happy to sit on it as that can be a problem for some children. Personally I don't like pottys as some kids then don't like the toilet and it's an extra step to go through. I was lucky with ds1 that he said the potty hurt him so always went in the toilet (no emptying :)). Really scary how fast they're growing up, talking about potty training already!

Hope phoebe gets well soon MammyG

Welcome back ItsMyLastOne!

I stopped taking the pill when I split with my ex lumpylumps and felt so much better. I decided then I'd never have hormone contraceptives again. Dh was fine about it and we used condoms until I had my coil fitted last year. I genuinely believe that they have a big affect on you despite the low doses. Glad your boys are sleeping better for you :)

Feeling rubbish today, have caught ds1's cold. I don't feel as bad as he looks but not great witha house full of kids :(

patito · 14/02/2012 21:01

mammyg Hope Pheobe picks up now she´d started on her medicine.

Welcome back last one

Dp took me to the library today where they were giving free flowers away for St Valentines Biscuit. I saw no more on the matter.

Debs75 · 15/02/2012 21:51

Newmum Lucy loves the potty and often sits on it. DD2 is quite glad as she is now at the stage where sitting pon the potty is boring and she would much rather not go for a wee. LUcy often goes and gets it when we tell dd2 to have a wee. She also likes to point to where you need to put things, milk back in the fridge, nappies in the toilet bin, wee dopwn the toilet. She is a proper madam and very very bossy.

Quick question. Why do my new black jeans smell like dead matches?
It is driving me mad

newmum001 · 16/02/2012 07:38

Haha debs, grace has to be involved in everything, if anyone comes round she shows them where to put their coats/bags she loads the washing machine, hoovers with her little pink hoover when I'm using the proper one. She basically does everything that I do, she's my little shadow. She's also started talking in 3 and 4 word sentances now and I love it. I can have a proper conversation with her now but we're really having to watch what we say now as she repeats absolutely everything!

newmum001 · 16/02/2012 07:40

Also I have no idea why your jeans would smell like that. Have you tried fabreeze?

cinnamongreyhound · 16/02/2012 07:58

Listening to both newmum001 and Debs75 I think I'm destined to have boys! Had 3 girls yesterday and they drove me mad being so bitchy to each other (two are 9 and the little one is only 4). Luke likes to help but when I need to get on I send him off to play or I get very stressed!

I feel so much better today and ds1 was only up once but Luke was up 5 times and now has the lurgy :(. Didn't eat any tea and has high temp and very snotty nose, his cough isn't as bad as mine and ds1's so far, but he did actually blow his nose this morning :). Nice half term :(

newmum001 · 16/02/2012 08:42

I wish I could send grace off to play when I need to get on, she was driving me insane when I was washing up yesterday so I told her to go and play with her toys which resulted in a massive tant and her lay near the fridge crying and banging her feet on the floor. It's a good job I can tune out and ignore her tantrums or she'd really get on my nerves haha!

It's taken a lot of training newmum001!!!! He doesn't want to help but just whinges and moans as it seems as soon as I start preparing food he realises he's hungry! Gets in my way, empties all the cupboards and gets between me and the worktops and pushes me away. He did lots of crying to start with but now he just goes when told as I have consistently taken him to the living room when he's being a pain. If he's tired it doesn't work so I sit him on the side with me but he also has others to play with too so perhaps that helps.

sassy34264 · 16/02/2012 10:31

Blush making me feel like a bad mum- i have a gate on my kitchen and they're not allowed in. to be fair it is too dangerous as there are still tools, paintbrushes etc about, but i know i still wont be letting them in when it is finished. need eyes in back of my head.

i wish mine were that talkative newmum they still dont say many 1 words iyswim.
isobel does the sounds to animals and train, fire engine etc. they can follow a lot though. like- shut the door, ta for mamma, eva's blanket- my little slaves!
jacob knows as much as isobel but just wont say it, do it etc. then again, he does bang to his own tune. Grin

chloe was a lot more advanced at this age i think. but it was just me and her for years. they can do a lot more for themselves than she could. gonna make them super independent. ha.

newmum001 · 16/02/2012 16:11

I can't have a gate on the kitchen cause it's kind of round the corner from the door so she wouldn't be able to see me and would just go ape shit, if it was a different layout though I'd definitely have one! Also the emptying cupboards would drive me insane, I've got locks on everything ground level Grin

MammyG · 16/02/2012 16:16

Just out of hospital with poor Phoebe.bad virus just took over, throat, ears, chest, tummy then a rash! Had to bring her overnight for fluids etc.left us home last night.hospital two hours away so total saga.dh had to come to boys and I couldn't leave Phoebe so even a cup of tea was impossible.only chair to sleep on! Dh gone to work today so needles to say grumpy painful mom today! Thank fully she is coming round and holding down fluid and some food.bit more life in her even if it is temper cause she can't make up her mind what she wants.
lumpy you're so lovely to remember.its all been a bit much this week

cinnamongreyhound · 16/02/2012 18:27

Oh MammyG that's awful!! Hope phoebe carries on recovering as quickly as she is. My two are poorly too, high temps and not eating. Luke just wants to lay on me and ds1 is crying lots, been poorly since Saturday. Let's hope someone starts smiling on you soon and life gets much easier xxx

sassy34264 · 17/02/2012 09:53

oh mammyg that sounds awful- poor phoebe. get well soon to her. xxx
yours too cinnamon

i know how lucky i am. we've only had snuffles here. and both times they were brought in by chloe. once children start mixing, its a pigging nightmare.

just beginning to start a routine with eva. started with putting her to bed and coming downstairs at 9pm. little love as just gone straight to sleep all 3 times. bless. she woke at 5am for a feed and is still sleeping now! should be waking her really to keep this milk supply up but very reluctant as i feel bad doing it.

going to take them for a walk along the canal today while dp does some jobs.

welcome back lastone

hows it going comix ?

has any date been set for the meet up yet?

cinnamongreyhound · 19/02/2012 18:52

How was your walk along the canal sassy34264? How are you getting on with the triple buggy?

Hope phoebe is better MammyG?

How is everyone anyway? Lots are posting very infrequently :(

We are mostly recovered now, dh isn't well now and Luke still isn't quite right plus I think he has the beginnings of conjunctivitis :(

I ran for 28 mins today, yay!! Have lost a total of 16kg now so am 79kg/12st 6. Still seems like a long way to go but some of my size 14's are a bit baggy now and bra's are huge. Went and bought a new one today and had to get 36DD, a bit :( as I was 36G and belly doesn't seem to have shrunk as fast!!

lumpylumps · 19/02/2012 19:40

What is it with all these poorly babies?!
Ollys been really poorly this weekend. We were supposed to be at my parents with my brother and his family. The boys were there thurs/fri while i was at work and when I got there to join them after work on friday I was greeted with a sicky olly! He'd been sick 3 times and was a bit off it so we came home. He wasn't sick again but yesterday was awful he was so poorly he was practically unconscious. a couple of times I thought he was. his temp was 40 and it took 3 doses of calpol to bring it down. I had to take him to the out of hours dr. We had to wait over an hour cos they were running late with people who were clearly not ill enough to not be able to wait till monday! Anyway, he's on antibiotics now & has gradually been picking up all day, and now, seeing as tho he literally slept for 24+ hours, he's wide awake & not remotely tired! Long night ahead!

I'm so pleased it was the weekend cos It'd have been so hard if dh wasn't at home. Poor ds1 has been really neglected. He got a new toy today for being so good!

I'm still around cinnamon just don't have anything exciting to report.
