see beady 3 posts after yours and not one mentioned the meet up! no one wants to meet me............ Sad

good luck with the scan comix

i stopped at 1 for 10 years newmum and now i have 4! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 03/02/2012 13:22

Ok I have set up a new Doodle calendar sassy 34264. We had 4 votes for Leeds and 4 votes for Manchester so we can decide on a place when we know how many are definitely coming and which place suits them. Once we have got that far I think we would be better off with a village hall/community centre or something like that where we can be in a large space without the worry of the children escaping!

I have had a surprise day off which has been lovely! Didn't know until almost 9 so didn't plan anything so I've played with Luke, washed and hung out some clothes and cleaned my house. Luke went to bed 45 mins ago so I have had lunch and am relaxing for a while now Grin. I now have the weekend with no chores to do, lovely!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/02/2012 13:27

I have put in the last 2 weeks of march and 2 weeks in April after the easter holidays here but if the term dates are different in different places we can change it.

Look forward to hearing comixminx scan news :)

patito · 03/02/2012 13:52

Ohh a new meet up. Both places are relatively easy for me, probably Leeds being the easiest. That is when Im at back home, obviously! I don´t yet have any visait planned over, but DS has been asking me so will start looking and let you know if any of the dates are possible for me.

Ive told DP I want our own house before think about another. I figured we be able to see how we´d get on finacially etc before going in for number 3. I also think about how much it would cost in terms of getting home a couple of times a year. I like to go back 2/3 times but would be limited if we had more children. Fingers crossed for the lottery here aswell.

I often wonder what´s happening with those that have dropped off.

Debs75 · 03/02/2012 18:48

I still want to meet up. TBH anytime after Easter will do me as long as it is a school day. I was thinking of taking the train so near to Stations would be good.

We had snow this morning, not much and I think it has all melted now. DD2 and DS were ecstatic, DS has been pretty ill so he wasn't allowed out but dd2 made the most of it on the walk home from nursery.

Am starting to get excited about my trip to London with mum and dsis. We just beed something to do on the 2nd day before we get the train home. I was thinking London Eye or Madame Tsuassauds(sp) but is there anything else good but relatively cheap nearby which you can do in cold and dreary February. We are staying near Paddington so something reasonably near if possible

BangWentMyTriangle · 03/02/2012 19:20

I can think of a good place in Leeds if we decided on that for a meet up. It's a short walk from the train station but also easy to get to from the M1. It's a pub called The Midnight Bell here and has a wonderful courtyard area and grassy area with deck chairs and toys outside if the weather permits. I could call for costs. A friend in Manchester suggested Mosi.org.uk but is going to get back to me with any other ideas.

Anyone using a duvet yet for their little ones?

Dixiebell · 03/02/2012 22:31

ooh yes, I was wondering that, and pillows. When do they need pillows? Arlo still rolls all over the place in his cot, so wouldn't stay on a pillow if I tried, but when it's this cold, I feel a bit sorry for him in his non-cosy sleeping bag, no duvet to hide under, and no pillow for his head! We kept the heating on overnight last night, and he slept an hour longer than recently, so maybe the 5.30 wakeups have been because he's freezing his butt off..??!

lumpylumps · 03/02/2012 23:27

I'd wondered if the cold had any influence on sleeping too. especially with ds1. Olly is in a long sleved vest, baby grow and fleece baby grow. It has been very cold lately. Wouldn't bother with a duvet tho cos he'd just kick it off. Ds1 keeps his on but not sure if thats what wakes him up!

Had an awful day at work today. we're so short staffed, getting 14/15 visits a day. when you conside3r travelling time too, thats less than 30 mins a visit. stupid cow who I have mention before was caught slagging me off in the office. for something she'd quite happily taken off me with out any indication she was annoyed by it. If she'd said something I'd have sorted it. anyway, I heard it then went back in & confronted her about it. she tried to laugh it off but I burst into tears. She has since left a voicemail trying to apologise but I'm still really upset about it. I'm not in a good place at the minute & that's just tipped me over. I haven't cried properly at anything for ages. always managed to hold it back but just can't stop crying tonight.
I've been out for a meal & drinks with my oldest friends but have had to come home early cos of my stupid speeding course tomorrow morning!

Yaddy yaddy yaddy, winge winge winge!!!!!

Is it too late to get Clubcard vouchers Debs75? We are going to visit a friend in two weeks and are going to the London aquarium, it's usually £19 but I paid £5.50 of vouchers for each ticket. Don't know location well enough sorry.

Luke is still in his grobag Dixiebell, his rooms is the coldest in the house as if I turn his radiator up a tiny bit it's absolutely boiling so I think cold is better! He just has a sleepsuit underneath and is fine. Ds1 didn't have a pillow and duvet until he went into a bed at 2 1/2 when I started potty training and even then he was in his grobag for first week in his bed so it wasn't a huge change at once. By the way that was about a month ago and now he's nearly five so it won't be long for our little ones either Wink :(

The only thing I'd worry about with a pub bangwentmytriangle is that it's open to the public and those of us with children who make a bolt for it is that we'd spend the time chasing them and not chatting! Especially sassy34264 with her three. Otherwise I'm happy with that as a venue especially if you know it well, might be easier.

Sorry to hear you're having a rubbish time lumpylumps, having a good cry can never be a bad thing! Perhaps you need to make a formal complaint about this woman if it's consistent? Try to remember why you're working and why you enjoy your job and just smile at her of you can.

I am now 81Kg/12st 10.5 and people have started noticing :). I have lost a total of 14kg now and the running is going well, I did a 20 min run last weekend! Back to intervals this week but should do 25min run tomorrow. My poor doggy is knackered but I feel so much better! More even moods and lots more energy, it's lovely! Plus I'm a size 14 again, yay!

BangWentMyTriangle · 04/02/2012 09:41

cinnamon they have a separate venue room to hire other wise I wouldn't have suggested it. Leeds Art Gallery is fab and very spacious too with a separate room for lo's with loads of colouring to do etc.
Anyway........ will see what anyone else suggests. Can't think of any community halls etc that would be easy access for people traveling. Oh... someone also suggested Leeds Museum so I could recky (spelling) that. Who lives in/near Manchester to do some venue research there?

Lumpy Do you need a visit to Beadits for a total change of scene?? Grin
Hope you're feeling better this morning >

comixminx · 04/02/2012 11:13

Just a quickie on the meetup - Leeds sounds particularly good to me cos my uncle and aunt live there so I can fit in a family visit at the same time. I've gone to the Leeds museum recently - it would have some nice stuff for the older kids, 8 is a good sort of age I'd guess - things like wigs you can try on, drawers you can open, that sort of thing. Not sure there would be anywhere in it for us to gather as a group with babies tho.

sassy34264 · 04/02/2012 12:40

to be truthful,. i looked into manchester and there are no soft play venues in the town centre. and the museum (which might have a room) is a long way away. but im not up on manchester that well. i think if you can find something suitable for leeds- go for it.

dont worry about mine cinnamon there usually as good as gold. not much chasing required.
fabulous news on the weight front- you sound like you are doing brilliantly.

i got my new pram yesterday and took them to the docs with it, as all 3 needed their jabs- groan. luckily dp got back in time to come too and he held the twins. jacob cried for about 5mins. isobel until i offered her the juice- 1 mins and eva for about 30secs.!!!! hard as nails the girls.

i think the pram is a valcro baby newmum was on the 9.15am bus into town this morning with all 3 kids. getting lots of comments! it was freezing and bloody snowing when i got back. think im going to drive tonight to liverpool. cant drink that much anyway and i think id rather be warm- god im old!!!! Grin

sassy34264 · 04/02/2012 12:45

valco pram

newmum001 · 04/02/2012 16:56

Oooh sassy I love it! Who got the seat at the front?

It's snowing really bad here, dp skidded sideways down the road when he went to pick my mums dogs up from the groomers.

Grace is eating again, yay! She's had a bad cold and has been suffering with her teeth which has resulted in a week of eating next to nothing and me being worried sick! But she's not stopped today so hopefully she's feeling a lot better.

Sassy drive carefully tonight and have fun!

There's a woman in my town with that pushchair sassy34264 she has 3 boys 7, 5 and 3 then twin boy and girl 3 months older than Luke and another boy born 2 days before the twins were 1 and she's just lost one at 10 weeks pregnant :(

cinnamongreyhound · 04/02/2012 17:32

Glad Grace is better newmum001 :)

BangWentMyTriangle · 04/02/2012 19:44

I've sent a couple of emails to possible venues so will copy and paste if I get replies. Loads of snow here! Just took an hour to do a 20 minute journey but I love it so much! Got snow balled by my cheeky neighbours when I was carrying a sleeping Jack from car to house! Oh how they're going to GET IT tomorrow! I'm thinking of blocking their gate up with a snow wall! [evil grin emoticon]

cinnamon that lady must have a minibus for her brood!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/02/2012 09:28

Luke has been saying 'uh-oh' all morning!! Ds1 slept over my mum's last night at his request so I'm itching to go and get him to play in the snow! Dh is desperate to stay in bed in the warm but I'm getting up now while he's making more coffee Grin. Can't wait to play! Perhaps there is a reason I work with children?

lumpylumps · 05/02/2012 18:20

Ooh! yey, the meet ups coming together. I'd prefer Leeds too cos its closer for me!

We've had a lovely day in the snow. We were at my parents farm so it was fantastic. Olly hated it but he's just cutting his last big tooth so hates everything at the minute! Ds1 thought it was brilliant.

Lucy has had a duvet for months now. She co-slept with us so is used to one now. She has a sleepsuit the pj's and a quilt and a blanket. It is freezing upstairs and I won't have the heating on overnight and she usually sleeps till 6ish.

We've had some snow, enough to had fun but not enough to send the town to a standstill. It's bloody cold though.

Love the pram SASSY how does it handle?

MammyG · 05/02/2012 23:23

Lumpy hope you are feeling a bit better. im having a rough time with a nutter at work too. Just trying to rise above it at the moment as everyone knows she is a devisive mean moo!
Cinnamon Im inspired!! Go you!
Was looking in to meet up and its a bit difficult. No direct flights from my nearest airports to Leeds. Only Manchester and they are business hours so either 7am 9am and 9.35pm. My nearest airport it 2 hours away so would mean at least two nights away if not more and that would be hard with Phoebe. There is prob a flight from Dublin to Leeds but that airport is 5hours away. Doesnt look likely for me - unless I win the lotto! So wanted to meet ye! Sorry x

lumpylumps · 06/02/2012 10:05

Cinnamon did you say you'd set up another one of those diary planner things??
