Quick question, mil is taking grace to a christening on sunday and it's going to massively disrupt grace's nap which I don't really mind for a day but I suspect grace will fall asleep in the car on the way from the church to the reception bit but she wakes up if u take her out of the car seat. We've still got her rear facing seat (so she can be taken out of the car without waking) it is suitable up to 13kg which she is just under so was thinking of putting her in that providing her head doesn't come over the top. But seeing as she is right at the top of the weight limit would it be safe to still put her in it?

Debs75 · 31/01/2012 13:41

Newmum I just took Lucy out of hers as I thought she was too heavy and she was only 10kg. Her head was about an inch below the top which I think is the highest it can go. If she has the head room then do it, she will sleep better and it will be easier for your MIL.

Cinnamon I would rewrite the policym she may have cottoned on to the fact she can get away with not paying. It is putting you out and you shouldn't have to take it. When I did my CM training the instructor said never let parents take you for a ride. She even suggested things like imposing charges on late pick ups or you will quickly have a child for an extra half hour for free.

I have an unhappy Lucy, she has a very sore bottom and cried yesterday everytime she pooed or weedSad I tried lots of bepanthen but she was still in pain, she was only happy if I fed her. Thankfully she woke up this morning a lot happier and so far hasn't pooed today so her bottom is healing a bit now.

sassy34264 · 31/01/2012 16:51

newmum i would probably do it. but it is risky, if she doesnt fit anymore.

cinnamon definately write the policy.

debs75 sorry for lucy's sore bum. isobel had one and no amount of cream helped until she stopped pooing and it had a chance!

dp is doing a 2 hour de-tour on fri (he's well chuffed!) to pick up my new (well, new to me) triple pram........hooray! i can leave this bloody house like a normal person!
after this week dp only has 1 week to go, before he is home for good. eek!

sooooo looking forward to it. going to get a banner and a cake and have a mini surprise party for him. he will be 30 on mon as well. my mum is babysitting on sat night and i am surprise taking him to the jamie oliver restaurant in liverpool. he loves jamie! we take the piss mick out of him all the time about it.

if he's cooking, i'll say stuff like- is that how jamie does it? and, well, if its good enough for jamie, its good enough for us.

god knows what i'll wear. i had my hair dyed and highlighted last week, which has knocked about 5years off me, but im still 3 1/2 stones over being able to get in my own clothes so it will have to be either maternity stuff or a maxi dress.

newmum001 · 31/01/2012 17:32

Sassy wear a maxi dress and get some new jewellery! Will feel as good as a new outfit! Or take your new pram for a spin on saturday and buy something new!

We're all ill! Grace has been off colour for a few days now, runny nose, sore bum and absolutely no appetite and me and dp both feel very fluey :( mil is gonna have grace for the day tomorrow and I intend to sleep all day! I feel like shit!

As for the car seat I'll see how she fits but probably won't use it.

Cinnamon I would never dream of doing that. If I had booked ds1 off the CM and then changed my mind I would have fully expected to still be charged. It's their fault not yours.

sassy that sounds lovely, the new pram, Dp coming home & a romantic meal out! just be careful you don't go making number 5 Grin

Olly is fine after his tumble. I think he was more shocked than anything! They've both been a bit off it today. Snotty & coldy. Having said that I think Olly is having a growth spurt. I can't believe how much he's eating. he's having seconds & thirds! The little pig!

newmum there's an idea. didnt think of that. i will defo go and buy something new on sat. i only have 2 going out maxi dresses and i have wore them a lot over the last 18months! dont need new jewellery as i have tons that i have hardly worn- infact i keep wearing the same few bits over and over.

lumpy dont say that, we keep dtd and neither of us has any contraception. im going to push for a vasectomy when he comes home. plus it is affecting his performance- poor guy is terrified i'll get pregnant! Grin

unfortunately bfing is no barrier in this house, and ive had 3 periods since eva was born. Angry

hope all the poorly babies/ adults are better soon. we have colds again in this house. only isobel has escaped so far.

newmum001 · 01/02/2012 07:45

Forgot to ask sassy, what pram is it ur getting so I can google it and feed my pram obsession!

sassy34264 · 01/02/2012 08:42

i dont know newmum its a blue one. Grin

i'll have a look on the side when i get it. its like a tt3 but she had it shipped from america she said. picture has gone off ebay now.

HI guys

Just a quick one. It was my Birthday on Sunday had a lovely lazy day we were gonna go out but rain and DS´s fever put a stop to that Sad, but it was OK DP fetched me fresh croissants for breakfast and rest of day followed in similar vain Smile. Then went to friends house for more cake as her son shares my Bday (but he´s only 2).

No night out for me mammyG, I don´t know if I could handle a night out again it´s been sooooooo long. Id probably never recover.

It´s still raining so off to swimming pool this afternoon, Maia loves it but it´s so expensive, so might just keep it to a winter activity.

Dixiebell · 01/02/2012 13:46

Sassy, you like living dangerously, don't you?!

Cinnamon, I'd suggest you write a policy that requires a certain amount of notice, perhaps a month or 6 weeks maybe? I think doing that would make parents see you're being reasonable - you understand that sometimes plans change, but they need to give you enough notice or expect to pay.

sassy34264 · 01/02/2012 18:27

dixie well, it wouldnt be the end of the world-would it?! Wink

lumpylumps · 01/02/2012 19:06

Sassy you've just confirmed it. You are officially crazy!

Beady where are you?????

sassy34264 · 01/02/2012 20:04

lumpy if you were a mental health nurse, i would concede, but you're not! Grin

spoke to best friend last sat and she had her 3rd on jan 1st. said to her,. have you done now then. she said, no switch has gone off in my head that says no more. i can totally relate to that. Smile

seriously though- cant see it happening. no money, no room, no life!

MammyG · 01/02/2012 21:17

Well Sassy if anyone could handle it, it would be you!! I have officially hung up my uterus!! Financially its an absolute no go. Sanity wise - I feel Im just getting the swing of things and just want to get round to raising the ones I have. My main motivation though is that I would hate to be as ill as I was with Phoebe. Couldnt do it any of us!
Oh surprise visitor! Im off.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/02/2012 19:46

The only thing stopping me is money :(. We have big bedrooms and as dss is only with us a third of the time three could go in the room ds1 and dss share now and one in Luke's room. We'd need a new car but it's just my loss of income if I had another and dh's age that's stopping us, oh to win the lottery!!!

Come back all those who have been away for too long!

Dixiebell · 02/02/2012 20:39

At least give it a bit, sassy! Give yourself a baby holiday ;)

sassy34264 · 02/02/2012 21:22

i need a body holiday dixie this body is fecked!
i was the smallest ive ever been as an adult when i got pregnant with the twins. i was 2 stones heavier when i got pregnant with eva, and if i were to get pregnant now, i would be 3 1/2 stones heavier! so that would probably mean i would be 5 stones heavier after baby 5! eek. and what if i got twins again?(and they were both girls?!) it might be 6 stones?!

my mum has managed to put me off the most. she said it might be ok now having lots of lovely babies, but what happens when they are 12 ,13 &14x2 in a row? and have attitude like chloe now. i could feel my uterus shrivel a little bit. Grin

i know we keep losing people- chelle, jodey, frigg, jess watersprite (anyone else?)
no one else has mentioned the meet up since either- so i have give up! its the same in rl. i am gonna be friendless soon. Sad seriously, i have lost 6 rl friends since i had the twins. Shock i noticed one has even deleted me off her fb account- charming! need to start meeting new people at mums and toddlers i think.

BangWentMyTriangle · 02/02/2012 22:06

sassy friend > from me Grin I've not vanished... just in molar/cold/grumpy/tired hell at the mo. That's Jack, me and Dh so i'll be back again when I'm in a mood worth listening to Wink

Lets get this meet up organised before sassy gets baby making to build her friend count! Wink Wink

comixminx · 02/02/2012 22:27

Hello! I'm not lost but haven't posted for a while. Aphra has been under the weather - she got sent home from nursery for the first time on Wed. DP picked her up and looked after her for the rest of the day, and I did the first shift this morning until he came back from doing the key things he really had to do at work - then he looked after her again all day, which was good in that I have a big project at work that is pretty full-on. She's ok in general but has had a couple of high temps - they respond to Calpol / Calprofen though. It's not great though cos I'm used to her being a healthy little thing that bounces back from this stuff but she's still poorly now. Hope she's better tomorrow...

It's the 12 week scan on Monday which is exciting - though I'm one who definitely wants to stop at two (because of my age apart from anything else).

newmum001 · 03/02/2012 07:19

Am I the only one who's considering stopping at one? I will have another probably but not for a few years!
