That's so cute cinnamon with Luke's chatter. I keep hearing orlaith saying "and" appropriately, is that normal?! Confused SO for example she was looking at photos today and saying "mummy and daddy and Imara" (it was actually orlaith in the photo but she always thinks any baby is Imara!). She does have a lot of words and puts two, sometimes three together. Apart from the lists, constant lists, she lists people she's seen, people in photos, toys, foods, etc etc. It's so weird! Grin

Bang we were doing the whole we'll see what happens but after 14 months of it not working, I want to do it properly. cinnamon I'd love sex every other day. I might find some info that says we have to do that and show it to DP! Wink

MammyG · 09/01/2012 22:00

Why thank you bang Glad to be home and getting back to routine!
To all the ladies trying -best of luck. I on the other hand am very happily NOT preggars. Having waited 8 weeks period finally arrived!! nerves a little fraught but all ok now! Back at work today - all fine but am unbelievably shattered tonight! Going to put the lunches together and crawl into bed! Have so much to do but not tonight! Please lovely children sleep tonight - you will love mammy all the more for it!!

Dixiebell · 10/01/2012 14:35

Arlo is just so miserable at the moment, I really miss my happy little boy. I'm just stuck to know what to do about it. He seems to have had a cold since the beginning of November, was really grotty over Christmas, had a temperature a few times over the last few days, and now gone back to not eating at all. Last week he was fine at the CM, and began eating again so I thought he was just playing up with me, but she just rang to say he's not eating anything today, barely drinking, hasn't slept well, and keeps crying. He does have a molar coming through, could it just be that do you think? I don't know whether to take him back to the doctors, but there doesn't seem to be anything specific to say is wrong with him, other than he's a misery and off his food. To top it all I have the worst cold ever, 7 days now, and I feel worse every day not better. Tbh, if Arlo feels anything like I do at the moment, I can understand, I've felt like not eating and just crying all morning too!

cinnamongreyhound · 10/01/2012 14:53

When ds1 had chicken pox the dr didn't want to see him bangwentmytriangle but might be worth a look, google the images and compare. Was it Aphra who had chicken pox very mildly?

I would say take him Dixiebell, it isn't his normal behaviour and it has gone on for a while so it's worth checking out. I haven't had problems with teething so not the best person to ask about that! Luke had a spell where he was crying and having tantrums over almost anything but his eating wasn't affected. Might be worth looking up if there's some developmental step at this age?

I had a nightmare morning today, I won't bore you with details but it included dog poo, grumpy dh, dss being a pain, running late, spilt water, my new minded child (age 8) not listening and stepping into the main road, ds1 falling off his scooter. Resulting in very tearful me, shouting a lot and deciding I am no longer going to childmind! I want a peaceful life at home with my ds's so I phoned dh and told him he'd have to find £15,000 a year as I wasn't going to work anymore, he said ok but it would mean him probably ending up in prison Hmm Angry Sad. OK, so it looks like I carry on a bit longer! I hate feeling so emotional, especially so soon after a week off and when all my spaces aren't full, what will I do in June?!?! Think it's hormonal :(

Also, I have now lost 10Kg and no one has noticed!!!!!!!! The only person who knows I'm trying to lose weight is dh as I don't want to make a big deal about it but seriously no-one has said a thing and I have dropped a dress size!

Dixiebell · 10/01/2012 15:08

I noticed that your weigh-ins seems to be dropping very consistently and rapidly cinnamon!! Well done you, I'm very impressed. People always worry about saying the wrong thing about weight, even if they have noticed!

I think I will try and take him to the docs if he's still not eating tonight. At least rule out an ear infection. I've just founds loads on the internet about toddler teething, he didn't suffer at all with his first 8, but I guess the molars are a lot more difficult to come through. Lots of people saying toddlers refusing to eat with it. So maybe that, and maybe coinciding with that time when refusing food is the only way to exercise control! And a cold. And Christmas upheaval. A perfect storm...??! Hmm

lumpylumps · 10/01/2012 16:24

Ahh, how wonderfully refreshed am I??? had a fantastic weekend doing exactly what I wanted when I wanted. I missed everyone loads tho. More than I thought I would which is nice. I was missing them by the I got there!

Great news on the weight loss Cinnamon My healthy eating has begun & I've even done my Davina dvd today! My legs hurt!

Sperm can live inside the body for up to 72 hours. Therefore sex every other day is the only way to guarantee that sperm will be present when you ovulate saoirse!!!!!

Newmum horrible news and experience. You can only be there for her but remember to remember when it would have been due & special days like mothers day to give her a little thoughtful text. The grieving carries on. Beady that happened to my cousin. There was a major heart defect detected at 20 weeks & they chose to end the pregnancy. It was awful for them.

Right better go, 2 slippery wet babies are in the bath & wanting to get out!!

comixminx · 10/01/2012 20:56

Saoirse, thanks for asking - all seems to be going well thanks! I am a bit queasy sometimes but by no means all the time, and I feel well in myself otherwise. It's the booking appt on Thursday - I can't remember whether or not it's too early to ask the MW if she can use the doppler to play me the baby's heartbeat - I would really like it if she could, it'd be so reassuring. I hope everything continues to go well - I've just told some work folks including my line manager, eeep.

Everyone has been posting lots I see - but then I've been a bit distracted, with going back to work today after our trip back from DP's parents in France on Friday. Mounds of washing to do of course. Mammy, I too am very glad to be back home and getting back to the routine!

Newmum, how sad for your friend, both the fact of it and the way it was handled. Hugs. And very retroactive hugs for Saoirse too.

Cinnamon, yes, it was Aphra who had chicken pox very mildly, lucky for her. The spots looked just like the ones if you search for images of it, so the internet is quite helpful for that. Great news that you are doing so well on the weight loss! I agree that people don't always want to comment on someone losing weight because it might not come out right.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/01/2012 21:13

They usually won't use the doppler before 16 weeks comixminx, in case they worry you as heartbeat's hard to find. Glad to hear you are well!

Don't know if any of you saw JessemyParkson is pregnant again after her miscarriage a while ago :)

comixminx · 10/01/2012 21:23

Oh well cinnamon, thanks for that. Never mind. I'm sure my previous MW used one very early (warning me it might not work) but I can't remember when exactly. I might ask anyway and see if she will.

Good for Jessemy! I also saw friggFRIGG on another thread (not pregnant as far as I know) - the one about circumcision if any of you saw that one? She was fighting mad.

saoirse86 · 10/01/2012 21:44

I didn't see that thread. I do speak to her regularly in the pushchair department!

I'm glad to hear you're doing well, how many weeks are you now? And thanks for the hugs. I was lucky really that not knowing about the pregnancy meant I didn't have much of a grief process at all, in fact I think I grieved more after having orlaith and being able to think of that baby as a baby iyswim.

cinnamon I agree, people are rubbish at noticing these things. I know I am! I'd only notice if someone changed by about 3 dress sizes I think! And I'm terrible at guessing sizes. I remember a few months ago my mum saying she felt about as big as my SIL. I said no, SIL's much bigger, about a size 20. A few weeks later I found out in passing that SIL's actually a 28! Shock I'm not sure if my mum will trust my opinion on her size again! Hmm

lumpy glad you've had a nice weekend, and a bit Envy!

MammyG · 10/01/2012 22:05

Am off on two hour drive to nearest city to have a mole removed tomorrow. Was looking forward to a city lunch and maybe a quick browse before I have to race home to collect the kids but oh no!....filling fell out and tooth cracked and now have to sort emergency dental!! Seriously ....I get out of here so rarely - stupid tooth!!!
Yesterday evening Phoebe bossed her brother off the chair she has chosen as hers! So cute and funny! She was having none of it - shoved him out of the way and squished her bottom into the chair then gave him the smugest grin! I was secretly proud! He laughed bless him - doent know what he is in for!!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/01/2012 13:43

Hope all goes well mammyG and you get a bit of time to yourself :)

patito · 11/01/2012 22:00

Hi

very belated happy new year frm me. Sorry! Ive been off-line for ages and tbh kinda lost the knack for logging-in. Finally decided it time to check back in.

Have just had a quick read through yesterdays post, congratulations comix. How many weeks are you? Thats amazing news. Hope to hear some more news like that soon, from saoisre? Bang? (can´t work out the new name though!).

Have held off thinking about 3rd until now as I only got my periods back over this christmas. A whole 2 yrs with no periods Shock. As I was staying with my mum I mentioned it to her and she congratulated me Confused. Actually it was kinda cute like Id got my first ever period. The first thing DP said was we´d be able to start trying again. Problem is Im not sure I want number 3 after all. I´d love to be pregnant again, love to have another baby, but there are some days when I´m so stressed with the 2 of them I couldn´t contemplate a 3rd.

Maia is so funny right now, mammy she also shoves her big brother off the sofa. She´s so assertive and very demanding, but so cute at the same time.

She peeled a whole mandarin by herself yesterday!

Other that the ttc and already -concieved, what news have I missed out on?? Can someone fill me in.

I had my right wrist bandaged today as Ive a cyst and it seem to be pressing on a nerve and has been causing me alot of pain. The Dr seems to think it will disappear on its own but bandaged it to give it some support.

Anyway, off to bed as Maia has been waking me really early these last few days.
Night. x

comixminx · 12/01/2012 21:24

Welcome back patito! Hope you had a great new year - do you do the whole Spanish thing with the grapes and almond soup and suchlike?

I'm about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant and went for my booking in appointment today. Apparently I should have the 12 week scan a little earlier than I was expecting - in the next couple of weeks hopefully - because it's when they also do the NT scan for Down's and of course I'm on the old side of things.

Not bad having no periods for such a long time, in many ways! I don't know what it's going to be like with two of them, all being well, but Aphra will be older and I hope things will mostly be fine.

Also, yay for Maia with the mandarin peeling and attitude! Good luck with your cyst too.

patito · 12/01/2012 22:32

comix Its making me giddy just reading your post! maybe I am a bit broody afterall Confused

We do do the grapes! This year I failed, as I hadn´t peeled and pipped them on time.

For the rest of you Here in Spain its tradition to eat 12 grapes with each gong of the clock on New Years.
DP´s family always eat lechazo (suckling lamb) on new ys day and Reyes (6th jan). We were also treated to cochinillo (suckling pig). And then of course theres the Roscon de Reyes, the traditional sweet bread filled with cream they eat with hot chocolate for breakfast on the 6th of Jan after the kings have been.

The 6th of January is a national holiday and it´s when the children (and adults) get there presents, the night of the 5th is amazing. Here where we live it´s celebarted in big style. The Three Wise men arrive in boats, mount there horses, then along with about 100 children make a torch lit procession up to the village where they re-enact the wise men arrivng to bethlehem and have a live nativity. The Kings give their gifts and then tell all the children to go home and go to bed as they´ll be on their way round to their house next! Ill try and post some pics as it really is amazing, beats Santa on the high street anyway.

Took my bandage off about 3 am last night as my fingers were all swollen and couldn´t feel them. Think Ill just buy one of those support bandages instead.

Maia´s come down with a terrible cold today, all snotty nosed and gunged-up eye. Sad not stopped her eating me out of house and home again though.

MammyG · 12/01/2012 22:45

Patito That sounds so cool. I lived in spain for a while and had forgotten how cool that was.
Mole removed but spent the day rushing around. Was two hours waiting for the doctor and it took a few mins! then had to rush to a dentist an hour away and sit there waiting for when he could fit me in. In the end he had to pull the tooth and I had to rush back home to the kids.
Ended up with a hectic day and one hell of a pain in my mouth. Chewing painkillers like wine gums today!!

cinnamongreyhound · 13/01/2012 14:59

Glad the mole and tooth are gone MammyG even if it wasn't the day you planned.

Having two is fab comixminx!! I am seriously getting broody now and it's going to be hard coming to terms with the fact that I can't have another. Interesting hearing patito's thought on a third, I just KNOW I want another.

I had no heating yesterday, unfortunately the pcb in the boiler had gone which meant a £260 bill :(.

Gotta go and get ds1 and the heard now, hope you all have a lovely weekend!

lumpylumps · 13/01/2012 19:18

I'm toying with the idea of a 3rd although am telling EVERYONE 2 is enough. I just don't feel like I'm finished. It doesn't help that loads of my friends are pregnant!

Patito that sounds brilliant. I'd love to experience different traditions!

Crappy day at work. I'm fed up of being made to feel small. Its one person in particular and she almost had me in tears today. Sad

Beady where are you??????

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 13/01/2012 19:44

Is that a collegue or patient lumpylumps? That's how I feel, I can't imagine never being pregnant again and I already feel :( when I see someone pregnant/ with a small baby. I love my boy very much and feel guilty that they don't feel enough, I have a lot more love to give.

Debs75 · 14/01/2012 13:16

Cinnamon I will never have another either so can we feel Sad together?
Watching OBEM doesn't really help but it is compulsive viewing here. A bit concerned that I cry at every birth. I will look a right numpty when I do my Doula training and cry at the birthinhg videos

cinnamongreyhound · 14/01/2012 17:52

Me too Debs75, dh thinks I'm an idiot but a baby being born is so emotional!! Do you not feel you've finished after 4? Dh says I'll have another and still won't be happy and then what will we do! Plus he thinks I just want a daughter which isn't true. He is 46 in 2 weeks so I see his point but it doesn't make it easier :(

sassy34264 · 14/01/2012 22:22

cinnamon your dh is prob right. ive had 4 and i dont like the idea that im not having anymore. i mentioned to my mum the other day, that im still not sure this is it. she said a lot of things that made my head more resolute in not having anymore, but its definately my heart that is the problem.

lumpylumps · 15/01/2012 14:10

ha ha ha! I was reading back to see what cinnamons dh was right about sassy and the first thin I read was dh thinks I'm an idiot I thought you were agreeing with that Grin

Its my heart thats the problem too. 2 is such an easy number. a family ticket is 2 adults, 2 children. we'd need a bigger car, I'd loose my junk spare room, nursery fees would cripple us for longer. So many practical reasons but I still want more! I know what you mean about people thinking you just want a daughter cinnamon I always said I wouldn't have another one unless I wanted another boy and at the time I didn't. Now it wouldn't bother me at all. Thats one of my other reasons for not tbh, the fact that people would think that my 3rd son was supposed to be a girl!

Awful night last night. Never had one as bad with either of them. All was quiet till 1am and then Olly woke up screaming. he woke up every hour from then till I got up with him at 5.30am. he just laid with me on the settee then fell asleep on me from 6-6.30 then 7-7.15 then went back to bed & we had to wake him up at 9.30! I'm putting it down to teeth but he needn't bother making a habit of it!

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 15/01/2012 16:50

ha lumpy i would never agree with that- even if it were true! Wink cinnamon

weigh in time. was pleasantly surprised as i cheated ate a lot this week. gona write it like this in future. or i'll never remember.

0- 15s 3lb
1- 14s 10lb
2- 14s 7lb

how is the running going cinnamon ?
dp isnt back yet from bath, as it was his last week, he went out last night down there with his friends. its been a looooong week! so i havent ran yet. plan on doing in the morning though.

eva has her 2nd hip scan wed. they said the 1st was thicker than it is supposed to be, but it could be an innocent reason too. so got to go back.

ive got to get jabs for all 3 babies sorted too this week- wanted to wait till lee was here, so i dont have to suffer alone.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/01/2012 17:16

I am 84.7Kg today (13st 7.5lb), think that's 2lb off could go bck and check the past weeks. Thats great weight loss sassy34264! Running is going well sassy34264 I did week 3 run 1 yesterday which is 90s run/90s walk/3mins run/3 mins walk, all twice and I did it! Felt great, never thought I'd be able to run for 3 mins so was well chuffed. It's also nice to get time on my own to let my mind wander three times a week :)
