Hello - I took my eye off the ball and lost the thread! Happy new year to all. We also have had shocking colds and all sorts but things are calming down health-wise thankfully. Aphra is in fine fettle apart from still having a snotty nose: she is doing masses of walking and eating very well, more so than usual to be honest, so maybe she's having a growth spurt. Certainly she's getting more teeth too, and learning more words, so everything is very rewarding right now.

Now to catch up with what you lot have been writing since Christmas...

newmum001 · 03/01/2012 17:39

Argh I'm having the worst day ever! Dp is back to work and grace has been a nightmare ALL DAY! She's started having really bad tantrums and screaming every time I tell her not to do something!

I'm sorry you didn't have a good Christmas Dixiebell, it's horrible when you look forward to something and it a disappointment. Luke wasn't as bad as arlo sounds but he was being a pain with eating and leaving him to it has really helped. If he is bein difficult I don't even look at him and when he can see its not a big deal he just starts eating what's in front of him. As comixminx said luke seems to be eating everything in site which is very different to his usual small appitite. No tips other than to relax as much as you can and keep offering a variety of food.

I think I've said before beaditAli (forgot your new name and it's on a previous page now so don't want to go back an lose everything!) ds1 gets a viral rash whenever he's ill with something else. Glad you're having a rest now!!

Sounds like Luke about 6 weeks ago newmum001, he drove me mad!!!! EVERYTHING made him throw himself backwards, scream and kick his feet but it has passed and he's doing it much less now he's realised that it doesn't make any difference!

And my big news is I'm going to give running a go! I found a thread on here of people doing the nhs couch to 5k program and I've joined them. I'm going tonight for the first time. Have stopped posting weight as I'm alone with it here but as I'm trying to improve fitness thought I'd give it a try. Dh is very worried how the dog will cope! If she's not upto it I guess I'll have to go alone Wink

Ooh.. Saw cadburys creme eggs in tesco today and didn't buy any!!!!!

lumpylumps · 03/01/2012 18:53

I'm baaaack!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
We had a lovely time but Olly hated it! It started with the cracker on Christmas eve and went downhill from there really! He didn't like the bang! Christmas day he opened 2 pressies then just moaned & wouldn't join in, Had his breakfast then went back to bed at 9am! Picked up a little bit but couldn't wait to eat with us so ate christmas dinner on his on & went to bed while we ate ours!
He's getting pickier with food to, I really struggle to know what to give him & he's lived on beans, shreddies and veg for the last week. I have learnt not to fuss him tho. He just pushed his tea away today so I left it there and he eventually asked for it back. he then mushed it with his spoon for a few minutes the gradually started to eat it! He is poorly now tho so that might have something to do with it. Not sure whats wrong, temp of 39 since new years eve, really chesty, clingy, and didn't settle till gone midnight last night. he's never been this poorly, even when he had chicken pox! If he's no better tomorrow I think he'll be taking his 1st trip to the drs!

I got a beautiful necklace of my boys poster formally known as Beadit! I love it, Its perfect. My friend loves hers too.

I go to centre parcs with the girls on friday. I'm so excited, I just hope my little man is better by then. Won't want to leave him if he's not! :-(

so sorry for your friend newmum x

we've not been too bad so far- just colds. both j and i have lost their appetites too though. not sure what thats about. although they are still eating.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2012 21:07

I usually weigh myself Thursday's but it doesn't matter, I'm still pretty focused but I'm happy to share. Was 86kg last week (13st 10.5), will post again Sunday. Are you still running sassy34264?

OBEM is back tomorrow at 9, ridiculously excited!!!

saoirse86 · 03/01/2012 21:36

Well it sounds like most of us haven't had the idyllic christmas we all hoped for. I don't really have anything to mention as nothing's really happened. I suppose that's better than having bad things to mention though! Smile

My bracelet's beautiful too Bang. I didn't get a chance to open it on christmas day and had the winter vomitting bug (again) on boxing day so opened it boxing day evening and it really cheered me up. Even if I did have to buy it for myself! Wink I've also bought myself another belated christmas present - another a pushchair! It's this Seed Pli and it cost £50. It should arrive on thursday and I can't wait. You can get skis for it too, but we need some snow for that! Grin

newmum001 · 04/01/2012 08:51

Cinnamon I am soooo excited for OBEM, dp is not haha! Saoirse you have a serious pram addiction and I'm very jealous of the new one, it's lovely! If it snows again I'm gonna have to get my bebecar vector out of storage (my mums spare room) and the chicco liteway doesn't cope too well with the snow. As much as I love the bebecar it is huge and not very practical so fingers crossed for no more snow.

Well I started yet another diet yesterday and failed again last night! Where has my willpower gone!

saoirse86 · 04/01/2012 11:19

We nearly bought this one originally and drove 40 miles to a stockist but ended up seeing and buying the Oyster. I couldn't resist for £50! I'd bought an old 3 wheeler a few weeks ago when there was snow threatened but haven't needed it yet. I'm going to have to get rid of that one now. That will only leave me with 4! Wink Some of these proper pushchair addicts have tonnes and have them in hiding places around their house and garden. Annoyingly DP would spot a new one straight away so I can't get any more. Sad

So excited for OBEM too! I will actually be arranging my life around it I think as we don't have sky+ or anything like that. And I feel quite excited that by the time the series is done my SIL will have had the baby! Grin

sassy34264 · 04/01/2012 12:21

obem????

BangWentMyTriangle · 04/01/2012 13:50

One Born Every Minute sassy Grin can't wait either if I'm not in bed by then.
Feeling crap today and think I have what Jack must have had. Just after I posted about his spots he filled his nappy and how I didn't throw up changing I don't know! He then had a 3 hour nap which is unheard of!!
Still a bit off his food but had more today than yesterday but still managing to do vile stinkies.

saoirse Im going to have a peek on ebay now at pushchairs Grin still not all that happy with my Ziko! Still want a BJ soooooooooooooooo much!
How's your garden looking???

Debs75 · 04/01/2012 19:05

Lucy has had her last ever trip in her 0 stage car seat.
She still has some head room left but she is too heavy to lift and is probably pushing the weight limit so from tomorrow she will be in Dd2s old recaro polaric.
Its just another way she isn't a tiny baby anymore. She has started helping us tidy up and today showed me where to empty Dd2s potty. She is becoming very independent as well. Feel a bit sad but they all have to grow up.

I can't wait for OBEM as well

lumpylumps · 04/01/2012 19:30

I daren't watch OBEM. Makes me broody. Not that I want any more, no, no, not me!

Ollys had his 1st trip to the Dr and just to boost the reason I don't ever take them, after 4 days of a raised temp and poorly boy, today he's been fine! started off poorly but by this afternoon was fine. Still chesty & off his food but back to his cheeky little self! Good job cos there's no way I can get the antibiotics down him, little monkey!

Watch it in bed Bangwentmytriangle!

It's really sad but really lovely too Debs75! I am starting to feel broody, dh said if I can get a 7-sweater car and explain to him how we'll pay the bills then it's fine by him Hmm. That's why I'm happy to carry on bf as its the last bit of baby cuddliness, but I don want it to go on forever.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/01/2012 19:36

sassy34264 · 05/01/2012 22:23

no cinnamon not running at the minute. last ran on the sat before xmas eve. i kept getting pains in the top of my legs, were my groin is. it would be difficult to even walk after. need to lose some weight first i think.

im going to weigh myself on sundays, as thats whem i started- but theres mo reason why you cant do it on thurs, if you want.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/01/2012 08:22

I started the couch to 5k this week sassy34264 after finding a thread on here, there are 90 of us all at massively different levels. I'm not a runner but like the idea and have been giving it a go. Is it just when running you get the pains or walking too? Look forward to our goddess' bodies soon Wink

sassy34264 · 06/01/2012 08:34

i get twinges when i walk too, but it is a lot worse when i run. i love running. when i do trialthons it is my weakest bit, but i love it the most.

i had a goddess body before i got pregnant with the twins Angry i was a size 10 for the 1st time in my adult life. spent most of it at a size 14- sometimes going up to a 16 and sometimes going down to a 12. but there was a few years where i was a 18-20!!!!!! i was with chloes dad though and very unhappy. never been that size since.

newmum001 · 06/01/2012 08:50

Well I've bought special k but that's as far as I've gone with a diet plan haha! Just had a bowl now and grace really enjoyed it (she'd already had her breakfast she just wanted to try mine) so that makes one of us that likes it Grin

I'm not big on exercise but I need to do something, my brothers getting married in cypus in october and I refuse to be fat for it! Just need to find my willpower!

I'm so excited! Center parcs today!!!!! I am going to miss my babies tho. a whole 3 days and nights away. I've only ever done 2 nights before and that was last thing at night to 1st thing in the morning! I'm really looking forward to them having some time with their daddy tho. He works so hard and never really gets much time with them & never without me there.

Good luck with all the diets. I do intend to eat more healthily after this weekend but as for exercise, I just can't. I have no willpower & no desire!

enjoy your mini break lumpy x

cinnamongreyhound · 06/01/2012 20:04

That's funny newmum001!! Luke and I eat porridge most mornings, fills me until lunch and is very cheap.

Enjoy your break lumpylumps, hope you have lots of fun and relaxation Grin

Luke is saying uh-oh now it's very cute, I think I had a kind of mama today too will keep my ears peeled. He is some kind of eating machine at te moment, never seems satisfied and is asking to eat between meals now too. So is eating 5, sometimes 6 times a day plus 2 milk feeds from 7.30-7.30, but also has a 2-3 hr nap so goodness knows what he'd eat if he was awake all day!

saoirse86 · 06/01/2012 22:29

Wow that's a lot of eating cinnamon! Orlaith's still not eating much at all. And is having less milk too, but her sleeping is ok so I just think I'll keep offering the food and if she doesn't eat much then so be it. She's not going to let herself starve, well I hope not anyway!

I hope it's a good weekend lumpy.

I dropped orlaith to my mum (she retired 2 weeks ago so has far too much time on her hands now) at 11.30 this morning and picked her up after I finished work at 7.30 and my mum said she kept saying "mama" and looking for me everywhere they went. That's so cute! Sometimes it seems as though she doesn't really notice when I'm not around so it's quite nice to know she missed me. Smile

Being at work yesterday and today has been quite funny. My boss turned 65 on Monday and got seriously drunk. He said he could remember coming home from his friend's pub (usually about a 7-8 minute walk) and it took forever. He said he was bashing into a wall, then suddenly he'd be on the other side of the road, then back again, he fell over several times and has completely cut his face to bits. He looks like he's been in a 10 car pile up! So he's been making me keep him from having to see people. I've had to run and shut doors for him to dash in and out, I've been lying to people about where he is, bringing food and drink to him without anyone seeing. I even had to lie to the two girls who started as I finished and say he wasn't around so to lock themselves out when they finish. It's ridiculous! It's going to take weeks to heal, I don't know how he's going to stay in hiding for that long? Confused This is what I suspect would happen to me if newmum got hold of us all on our meet up! Wink
