I tend to go more for the Slimming World style of 'diet', Cake. i.e. fill up on fruit and veg, while replacing bready-carbs with other sorts. However I'm intrigued by what the blood(y)type diet suggests for an AB blood type!

Normally AB's get the short end of the stick... We're ineffectial blood donors since our blood is useless for other people and if you look at the Japanese 'horoscopes' of blood types we're all split personality lunatics. Bad guys in film/literature are generally given AB blood types. :P

viksam · 16/11/2011 08:55

cake I can only imagine how good it makes you feel, i had my hair cut yesterday and i feel loads better, its eyebrows today and i cant decide wether to call and ask her if she has time to tint my eyelashes, i like them done cos they are really light but she gets the dye on the skin under my eyes and it takes a few days to get it off, dont want to look like a panda for the weekend.
I dont really know anything about the blood type diet tbh, i just like my food far too much at the moment!
dh poor boy, theres obviously something bothering him at the moment, and poor you as well, in my opinion sleep deprivation is the hardest thing so far to deal with, you can face the world when you have had enough sleep.
D was as good as gold when i fetched him from the cm and seemed fine, his eyes are still red though?? He went down fine at 7.15 and slept all night till 6.10 with one cry out that he quickly ss from..........why can he do it one night out of 10 but not the others? im not even going to try and work it out!
dylthan Men are so bad at remembering anything like that, asking my dh to remember a date is just a lost cause, took him a few months to remember my due date!!
chu yep people are cheeky thats for sure! Hope you had a good sleep, what time did S wake up today?

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2011 09:08

tbh, i don't think the ab is any worse than the others - they're all a bit tricky if you're used to eating everything! the thing which surprised me tho was how close i naturally eat to the recommended diet - the few things i'm not keen on (eg chillis, peppers, most fruit) i'm meant to avoid and the really beneficial ones are things i love (eg weirdly lemons are my fave fruit, i use loads of them in cooking etc). it made me think there might be something to it.

here's about ABs: www.dadamo.com/bloodtype_AB.htm

here's the detailed info: www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htm annoyingly you have to click each food type. follow guidance for secretor if you don't know which you are.

you can get a full list online like this one: www.drlam.com/blood_type_diet/blood_ab_chart.asp but they don't tend to be as accurate and don't split between secretor and non-secretor.

just checked and you can still eat paneer if nothing else Grin

Trudyla · 16/11/2011 09:45

morning all

typing with one hand as bf.

things are OK here.

m is playing up a bit about sleeping, prolly cos she thinks I might dissappear again for 4 nights, so she doesn't want to be left in bed and is screaming (really, really screaming) the place down as soon as dp leaves her room. heartbreaking. seems like there are a few others with sleep problems on the thread though, so might not be related to me having been away...

we are making a big effort to include her in everything. yesterday we left f with friends for an hour and dp, m and me went for coffee and cake. she absolutely loved it and was much happier. will try and do that again soon.

we're loving being parents of two. m adores f and keeps stroking him. she also tells us, when he cries. she;s such a good big sister.

f is doing really well. a few tummy aches but hopefully not too bad. he is so cute and developing daily.

mlic hope ur feeling better soon

chul yey for getting rid of ms

cake i will start dieting soon. is this diet also good for loosing weight or just for feeling better?

vik Grin @ looking like a panda. have u got anything special planned for the weekend or why are you worried?

have a good day all.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2011 10:17

vik when D is not ill/teething he will sleep one good night every now and then. Who knows? I'm just hoping he will be sleeping better when the next baby arrives. I've got about a year!

Spirael · 16/11/2011 10:21

If I went down the path of eating by bloodtype, I might have to switch to nothing but Paneer, Cake. Grin

Looking at the stuff for AB, my food so far today of tropical fruits, aspartame-filled drink and my impending lunch of pasta and pesto with parmesan is about as wrong as I can go! I am actually having Pea, Mushroom and Paneer Curry with Rice for dinner... Unfortunately it's full of chilli like most things I eat which is apparently also bad. Confused

How would it work when I'm the only person in the house who knows what blood type I am? DH doesn't know his (and is banned from donating and finding out that way after he collapsed at the sight of the needle Grin) and I have no idea what blood type M is either. I asked one of the nurses after she was born and apparently they don't send a sample for type analysis unless there's a problem.

Though this all reminds me, I haven't donated blood recently. I might arrange to go do that next week. Not that they really want mine.

Spirael · 16/11/2011 10:37

Oh! I meant to ramble reply yesterday about the Children in Need question too Cake.

On Friday M is doing a Sponsored Snuggle at nursery in the Babies room, where she's going in wearing her pyjamas/dressing gown/slippers and taking a teddy (on which I've put an appropriate bandage Grin). She's also doing cake making in the Toddler room. She's still in the process of migrating at present, so gets to do both!

The whole area is going loopy about CIN here, since Pudsey (the place) is in Leeds and literally just up the road from where we live. Shock The BBC are broadcasting from there this year after a huge campaign to 'bring it home' over previous years.

Both my and DH's works are getting in on the act too... On Friday, for charity, I'm due to be attired in spots - including a spotty dress with spotty ribbons. I've never, ever worn a dress to work before! I only wear them for weddings! (Though not spotty ones. Wink They look bad with freckles.)

I get to stick spots all over my desk/computer/chair at work too, it's going to look like Mr. Tumble exploded in my area. Grin

Tonight/tomorrow night DH, M and I are working together to make lots of gingerbread Pudseys for work/nursery. :) Slave labour or good Mummy..?

Woodlands · 16/11/2011 10:49

Nothing going on for Children in Need either at nursery or at work, as far as I know!

Good to hear from you Trudy, I'm glad to hear things are going OK and M is enjoying being a big sister. You're not to even think about dieting until at least 6 weeks - for the moment enjoy eating cake/chocolate etc! That BFing hunger you get in the early weeks will kick in soon, just go with the flow.

Chulita · 16/11/2011 12:29

dylthan what would you like to do for your birthday? I'm 6 weeks older than DH so as long as he can remember his own age, he can't forget mine.

Awful night here viks, you know those nights where you're not quite sure when they woke up because they never seemed to settle? Yep, one of those, L woke up at 1am crying with itchy legs, then 2.15, then S at 2.50 and he never settled for longer than 15-20 mins til I finally got up at the arse-crack of dawn.

trudy that's great that you were able to have an hour just with M, I hope you get to do that a few times so she doesn't feel left out!

cake I'm an A but if I'm not supposed to eat much fruit I'd wither and die. Makes sense that we should all be eating differently depending on how we're made up, not sure how it would work with a family and different blood types though.

spirael you're one of those mums that shows the rest of us up aren't you?! Grin

dh if you're happy with him co-sleeping and he's happier with it, there's no real reason to change. When they're ill it does make it so much worse, S has just cut one molar and the other is on its way and I think that's making him miserable. He's only got 8 teeth so far.

Anyone else got a ridiculously fussy baby/toddler? Both of mine are doing my nut at the moment!

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/11/2011 12:45

'Unappreciated'. Yep that's definitely the feeling over here cake

I can't remember my blood type, but I know it's the same as dh's so I'll ask him. I am fairly confident that if dh and I are the same, the kids will be too? I assume that's how it works or am I being blonde

I checked with my friend and apparently the boys are supposed to dress in spots on Friday. They don't own anything with spots and I'm certainly not buying something (and there's absolutely no way I can make anything!) so I will plead ignorance on Friday as they didn't tell me last week.

My tyre can't be repaired, it has to be replaced. To replace like for like will be £176 Shock for one tyre Shock Hey ho, will shop around and he said he'll price match so that's something

I booked ds1's birthday party yesterday! I'm very excited!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2011 12:47

Dont think there's much going on round here for CIN. I like the song they've done for it on cbeebies though!

D has had an hours nap so we've now got 5 hours to kill...dont know what to do. Bit too cold for the park now which is a shame (well its too cold for me anyway!)

Spirael · 16/11/2011 12:56

Do they have any cheap/old/about-to-grow-out-of t-shirts that could be attacked with a permanent marker to create spots, MLISC? Either that or you could use use a dry-wipe board pen and 'Spotify' their arms and cheeks or something. Grin (It'll come straight off with water.)

I'm not one of those Mums Chulita... Wink I'm a big child that never grew up! Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/11/2011 12:57

Dh, my littlest boy went blue yesterday at the park. No exaggeration, his cheeks and chin were actually blue, so I had to bring him home :(

Made far too much vegetable egg fried rice at lunchtime. Ooops. And ate it all too, double ooops!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/11/2011 12:59

Hmm there's an idea spirael! Thanks!

Gracie123 · 16/11/2011 13:02

I'm getting frustrated that I don't know my own blood type now! You'd think that's the sort of thing you'd remember, especially after having a baby recently. It must have been in my green notes.

It's no wonder I'm fat. It must be my blood...Wink

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/11/2011 13:11

Grin gracie

Spirael · 16/11/2011 14:19

Here we go... New Thread! [enthusiastic]

Chulita · 16/11/2011 14:30

mlisc you could get some round stickers and let E go mad sticking them all over himself.

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/11/2011 14:57

Thanks for the new thread spirael! You've inspired me - I will post a pic on fb of what I've made for littlestboychaotic Grin

Dylthan · 16/11/2011 18:35

mlisc Wow is that how much tyres really cost Shock hope you can find a better deal.

dh That made me laugh about your dh forgetting his own age :o

trud sorry m isn't sleeping very well for you at the moment. You sound to be doing great. It really is lovely being a mum of two and watching them interact together. My two are actually playing together properly now and its so nice to watch.

cake I would live to go to one of those style and colour days but I really doubt there will be any one doing them in the arse end of nowhere :o my bloodtype is o positive and dh is A positive I don't know what that would make the kids Confused

Not really doing much for my birthday dh is on nights and we're trying to save up to get the house looking nice ready to sell its probably a losing battle though :( . So I think we're probably going to go out for lunch with the kids. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be to macdonalds Wink

Dylthan · 16/11/2011 18:36
