I'm here! On time for once. Wink But at work and about to go to a meeting, so will post more later.

WhatSheSaid · 12/10/2011 09:05

I'm not far off going to bed so I'll post now to get this on my Threads I'm On.

Both dds got their MMR today, G is jsut 15 months (the age it's done here) and A nearly 4 (when they ahve booster). Glad it's done as the measles outbreak here is now officially classed as an "epidemic" Sad

Chulita · 12/10/2011 09:18

wss that's a weight off your mind at least! How are they doing? S is supposed to have his next week but he's so snotty and whingy I'm not sure it would be the best time to do it...

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 10:17

Thread title is great imo chul :)

:( wss that's pretty scarey

I thought I'd have to wait in for ds1 birthday/Christmas pesent all day but it's arrived already! We've got him this and I already know he loves it as my friend has one at her house and he spends the entire time playing with it when we go round :) I love December, so much fun what with holiday, ds1's birthday and Christmas, yay! Grin

Vik hope your day goes ok even though it's a long day for you. FWIW I've had to give ds2 a bottle at 5:30/5:4 the last two morning for some reason.

The boys have gone quiet. Never a good sign. Better go check on them...

Woodlands · 12/10/2011 11:08

that looks fab mlic!

J woke at 5.30 this morning and I went and fed him and put him back in his cot - but for the first time in ages he didn't go back to sleep. DH eventually got him up at 6.30 and we lay in bed while he did all the things he likes doing in our bedroom (handing DH his glasses, watch, keys, cufflinks etc one at a time, saying 'Daddy' each time; opening and closing the wardrobe doors; knocking the clock radios on the floor; turning the touch lights on and off etc) for quite a while. I dropped DH at court and then went to our swimming lesson, and it was quite a drive so luckily J fell asleep in the car for a bit. I'll try to get him down for a nap again at 1ish. Unfortunately it will mean we can't go to parent and toddler, never mind.

Trudyla · 12/10/2011 11:21

Love the thread title. Sums up my mood and energy level most days Grin

M is having her nap now for the first time with a pillow. I'll see how she likes it. She usually sleeps on her belly so not sure it will be the best thing.

viks Am pretty organised with all things labour related so can start to relax a bit now.

chul Good luck at the dentist. Is S already going, too?

mlic Love the bunting idea. Admire you for all the things you did yesterday, not sad at all.

memph How do you always get so much stuff done with L around? What does he do in the meantime?

Not much going on here today. Hope you all have nice days.

memphis83 · 12/10/2011 12:53

trudyla I get things prepared when I can so I loaded the car for the tip when he was in bed and had the next lot of things for the next job ready for after that is done, I get cakes mixed while he is eating lunch so im still next to him, he is generally happy and plays on his own, but mainly as he is napping so much due to his teeth I go crazy the whole time, the downstairs is always ok as he potters around with me but it isnt safe to have him upstairs and do jobs so upstairs is literally a bomb site, cant wait to move as then I will be able to have a stair gate and he will have a room he can have toys in to occupy him!...sounds like I leave him a lot to do his own thing, I genuinly dont, but his lunch takes him a good hour to eat so I get all the kitchen done then!
viksam I have decided with this move to declutter my life and not have shit I dont use coming with us, charity shopping clothes that break my heart to lose but I know I wont wear or use again or rarely! I have weeks but Im determined it will be stress free so im getting as much done nowso the week we go it will be carpets cleaned and off we go!
mlic that table looks amazing I saw it and thought it looks so well made it looked expensive but half price! what a bargain!
My friend gave birth this morning, he has more hair than L!
Had my group ladies over today, they have gone now, L is in bed, my new bed has been delivered and Im half tempted to nap today as I can do jobs when dh gets home!

Chulita · 12/10/2011 12:59

trudyla it was S's first time but I thought the earlier they start the better cos it'll seem normal and not scary. They were both brilliant and L even got a quick polish [proud] Although it's a private place they didn't charge us which was a nice surprise!
I quite envy you trudy being nearly there, I know that's stupid cos you've done this bit already but this one is going so much slower than it did with S.

woodlands I hate it when they don't go back down again, for some odd reason S has never gone back to sleep if he wakes up 5am or later but it's so frustrating!

mlisc that'll be great for both of them, we've got a load of brio gathered from several car boot sales and although we've only got a small loop out, L plays with it constantly. The only problem is that S can't help but destroy it!

I need to get on and sell our car and find a letting agent for our house but I just can't find the motivation...

memphis that' s one thing I love about moving so much, I declutter loads on each move, it's brilliant!

Bad mother alert: we were eating lunch in the kitchen when the doorbell rang. Went to answer it (twas the postie with a box of Cheerios for a MN product test!) and came back upstairs to the kitchen (we live in a first floor flat with stairs down to our front door) eagerly opening my parcel. After lunch I got J down from his high chair and he crawled off to play while I cleared up. There was a suspicious silence so I came out of the kitchen to discover that I had left the stair gate open and J was sitting at the bottom of the stairs playing happily with the junk mail (luckily not with the cat litter!). I went totally cold thinking of what a nasty fall down the stairs he might have had - am so glad he knows how to go downstairs safely and that he didn't slip. eeek!

I'm on myfitnesspal, was doing really well til about July but I'll start up again in March. I think it'd be easier if I knew more people on it tbh.

I just threw up my lunch, seriously bored of this pregnancy sickness...I'm thinking it must be a girl seeing as I'm 18 weeks and still upchucking like a pro.

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 17:05

Great on the sleep front tsc, not good on the migraine front :(

Chulita will you find out what you're having this time or not? You didn't find out with S did you?

The table will be good for them both but it is ds1's pressie and will be going in his bedroom. That means ds2 will get to play with it sometimes, but it's only fair ds1 gets something of his own instead of being told to share every wordly possesion he owns. The poor lad has got such a cough, I'm sick of listening to it so he must be totally fed up of it. I've been into town this afternoon to get him some cough medicine and paracetamol [fuck the e numbers, the lad's poorly emoticon]

I've made them a lovely turkey and veg casserole tonight and parsnip, sweet potato and potato mash and neither of them will eat it. I don't know why I fucking bother. So they've both had a yoghurt. I really don't want to make them something else but I'll have to won't I Angry What's really pissing me off is if I'd taken them to McDonald's or Greggs whilst I was out they'd have both fucking eaten, I know they would. Homecooked meal made with love and care? Nah, not bothered thanks mam Angry

I'm having a bit of a declutter too memph, it feels good. Although not that good that the three things I sold last night on the bane of my life ebay are still awaiting payment.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 17:05

Oh and woodlands I wouldn't worry about the 'what if's - nothing happened so don't stress.

Chulita · 12/10/2011 18:26

mlisc my two are in a proper 'no eating' phase so I've given up cooking for them at the mo. This evening S had 2 mini breadsticks and about 6 baked beans and L had scrambled egg and beans (she didn't have breakfast or lunch though).
We did know with S cos we found out by mistake (I don't think I said on here til he was born though). Tbh we loved knowing and calling him by his name etc so we'll find out with this one. We didn't tell anyone in rl about S so we might try and keep it a secret again, it's more fun that way!

woodlands the other day I was in the kitchen and DH came out of the upstairs bathroom to find S sitting at the top of the stairs. I'd not realised the gate was open and had released him from his chair. It is scary though cos they're so unstable at this age (as S's black eye and triple-bruised forehead shows). At least you know he's good on the stairs!

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 12/10/2011 18:36

woodlands, yep, I forgot to shut the gate the other day and found G teetering at the top of the stairs when I rushed up to grab her. We have spiral stairs too, they're pretty steep. She goes up them fine now, it's just coming down I have to worry about.

mlisc train table is very cool. A is a pretty bad eater at tea time sometimes. I try to give her really basic stuff for tea and get her to eat more in the middle of the day. She sleeps the later of the two of them (till 6.30 or 7) so I don't think she gets hungry in the night or anything.

Both of them were absolutely fine after their MMR jabs yesterday. The surgery want G back in 28 days to get the 2nd one - they normally have it at 4 but due to current measles situation they want everyone to have it asap. I had got A a little toy as an incentive to get the jab done and the surgery also gave her balloon, jelly bean and sticker book so she came out all loaded up with stuff in her arms and very pleased with herself.

CakeandRoses · 12/10/2011 19:12

yo,

i've read back but my brain's fried so apologies for everything i'm going to miss.

thanks for the thread chul. puts us to shame that the most child-outnumbered of the lot of us had to start it.

that's exciting that you're planning to find out if you're having a boy or a girl. we didn;t with either of ours and i'm always slightly jealous when people do!

tsc nice one on nights!!! well impressed. we've gone backwards here but hopeful it'll all get better when these teeth come thru as we must be due a break.

woodlands that's well impressive that he can go down stairs alone. i must let A try

wss i'm glad the jabs went well. you've reminded me - i MUST chase up A's mmr. the bloody surgery here are fucking useless. i've left so many messages to book an appt - last time i gave them my email address but did they use it - of course not Angry

mlic that table is lovely. F just saw it when i opened the link and asked for it!

sorry, i'm so quiet at the mo - seem to be knackered and uber-busy trying to juggle work and life as well as it being a v busy month for birthdays in the house so am having to sort parties, presents, days out, nights out etc.

just cleared up a whole kitchen floor's worth of rice and beansprouts (DCs had chinese which they LOVED but it appears to be the messiest meal ever invented)

and now about to do solo bedtime. i won't bother to whinge and you all know how i feel about that.

taking dh to the spa for the day for his bday, very unselfish of me i thought Wink

right - better start dreaded bedtime - catch yall later

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 19:18

Aw wss that's really sweet :)

Well they'd both had a full sized breadstick before I attempted tea as was a way of getting them from under my feet in the kitchen. Then the yoghurt, and ds1 had two thirds of a banana and ds2 one third. That's it :( But ds1 has gone to bed doped up with paracetamol and cough medicine so hope he has a decent sleep. They had porridge for breakfast and a sandwich each at lunchtime (ds1 cheese and ds2 chicken and philidelphia) so not a fantastic day but could be worse I suppose

Hope you're enjoying pinterest chul Grin

Chulita · 12/10/2011 19:30

Good luck with bedtime cake :) We're all different with different children so none of us can know what anyone else's bedtimes are really like. Also mlisc and I don't mind letting them shout it out whereas you're more gentle on that front. (I think tsc outnumbers us all on the child front, I can't count Frijolito who just makes my life misery but doesn't take much looking after...yet...)

The trouble with Pinterest mlisc is that it shows you all this cool stuff that you could make if only you'd turn the computer off and do it instead of finding more ideas! Grin

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 12/10/2011 20:00

am currently running between 2 shouty children. F banged his head on his headboard so he's particularly sorry for himself. Rah!!

frijolito Smile

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 20:41

You're quite right chulita...

...except I have just made a christmas card holder Grin

I hate, hate, hate having cards up in the house. It's just clutter and have I mentioned I hate it

It's just a really simple frame, with ribbons tied round it and secured, for me to drop cards over each ibbon (dead simple, I shouldn't really be shouting about it Blush)

But anyway, tis thanks to pinterest that I had the idea and it has cost me less than 40p to make. How's THAT for frugal tsc? Wink

CakeandRoses · 12/10/2011 21:01

tell me about pinterest again please

Chulita · 12/10/2011 21:09

Ooh, well done mlisc pics please, was it that tree-shaped one on your board? cos I was eyeing it up

cake was it one of those "I should be in bed but cos I was pratting around I've hurt myself and now I neeeeeeeed cuddles" type bangs?

Off to bed now, I've just tried crocheting a mini stocking to hang like bunting on ribbon around the mantelpiece but the pattern's right-handed and I think I've cocked it up being a lefty so will have to have a rethink in the morrow.

Nice to see you back btw tsc and cake.

And stac cheers for the offer of the cover, I'll crack on and make this one, it's sort of newborn poo/baby sick colours in a pattern so it should hide any leaks Grin (it's a pretty fabric as it happens, just sort of browny/greeny/yellowy)

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/10/2011 21:19

I didn't realise you were a lefty chul. DS1 is too and it's really alien and I find it really hard to help him learn how to do things (like hold a pen properly for exmple) So any tips on helping him would be greatly appreciated :)

Cake, you can't really describe pinterest but in a nutshell it's a site for inspiration. If you pm me your email address I'll add you and you can have a look. You can always delete it if you think you're not bothered.

I do want to make that chul and will I hope, but this was the other one on my board. I got some ribbon in town when I went to get the medicine so I was just having a little faff around really!

CakeandRoses · 12/10/2011 21:29

no chul, it was one of those 'mummy rammed put me back into bed and misjudged where the bed ends and the headboard starts' type bangs Blush

cheers mlic, pming you now
