vik you're night sounds just as bad, hope they start sleeping better soon I really do. I don't know what was up with D, he has quite a bad cough which woke him up but not everytime so don't know why he woke up the other times, teeth maybe? He was really crying too not just moaning.

viksam · 15/11/2011 10:39

So do i dh D has 6 weeks to learn how to sleep, otherwise i dont think i will be a very good Mommy!!! I just wish it was easier to know what was wrong so that you could fix it, its just hard. I feel a right cow taking him to the cm's but i really need a break and i REALLY need a haircut!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/11/2011 11:19

I'm so low atm that I'm actually past caring about it all.

Vik I'm glad you got him to the cm and you can have a peaceful day. That's exactly my thinking, I'm not happy paying £35 per child to find them watching tv. And their lunch on Friday? Fish fingers, mash and beans. Seriously? Is that worth the money? Is that what they employ a 'cook' for, to shove fish fingers in the oven? Getting more and more pissed off with them, hence my reluctance to think about incresing their time there. And it's the best nursery in the area.

Dylthan · 15/11/2011 11:32

I see where your coming from mlisc I think the differance between private and school nursery is that the school nursery prepares them for starting school.

At D's nursery they have frequent trips into the P1 class to meet the teacher that they will have and to see what it is like when they start school properly.

They are also assigned a "buddy" from p7 just before they start in p1 there buddy comes in to talk to them and also takes them out in the playground so they get used to being with all the bigger kids before they are thrown in to the deep end.

I don't think that children that go to a priveate nursery are at any way at a disadvantage and certainly not at a disadvantage academically. However I do like the gentle easing in to school life that the school nurserys provide.

Dylthan · 15/11/2011 11:35

X-post mlisc sorry your feeling low about it all :(

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/11/2011 12:34

mlisc sorry you're feeling down :( dont know what I can say to help, just hope you're feeling happier soon.

D slept for an hour at 11 so I'm a bit more hopeful, I think I put him down too late yesterday, hmm I wonder if his bedtime is too late..?

Oh dear, how do you get white paint out of clothes? D had a mishap with a paint tub the other day so i stuck the clothes in the wash but obv the paint hasn't come out.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/11/2011 13:39

There's one I could use for ds1 £8 for a morning or afternoon session but it's for 2yrs+ so ds2 couldn't go

dh I've never been able to get paint out of clothes so don't know, sorry

Off to see the ducks

Chulita · 15/11/2011 13:52

mlisc so sorry you're feeling so sad, I wish I could take you out for brunch or something.
I wouldn't be happy with L watching tv if I were paying for it tbh, she's awful for screens(as I've already said) so the last thing I'd want would be her staring at one at nursery.

viks I used a sling for the first 4 months or so with S, I had the Sleepybaby wrap and it was really good. I can't find it anywhere now so once Christmas is over I'm going to get hunting, I'll deffo use it for this next one.

dh sorry you're having so many ishoos with D and beds, juggling nap/bedtime/meal times is such a nightmare! and I've never got paint out of clothes either, just splash a bit more on and make a pattern out of it :)

We don't usually do anything on Fridays so I don't think the dc will be doing anything special.

Thank goodness I don't have ms anymore, I'm eating my body weight in lemon-blueberry cake at the mo!

DH, you might be able to get it out by rubbing some white spirit on and then washing it through - but test a hidden area first as it might bleach the colour of the fabric!

viksam · 15/11/2011 16:32

mylife i really hope you pick up soon, nothing stays the same for long and things will change soon enough, just cos they always do. Are u talking to anyone about how you feel? Were the ducks nice?
dh I changed D's routine a few weeks ago when he went into his new room, he only has one nap after lunch and i wake him earlier than i used to and it did make a difference for three or four nights but now he seems back to his normal, waking between 3-4 and staying awake for over hour, self! great! I cant stand it when people say 'oooh you never know this baby might sleep through straight away' also getting really really fed up with people saying 'ohhhhhh arnt you small/neat/only 6 weeks to go!!!' rahhhhhhhhhh, what gives people the right to comment! Sorry, didnt mean to rant, gota go get D in an hour, what can i do in an hour?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/11/2011 16:40

Haha, you made me :) with your 'were the ducks nice?' vik Grin

Day took a spectacular nose-dive when I went out as I got to the park and my friend told me I had a flat tyre. Totally. Flat. I knew it felt weird driving there but are are so many roadworks on my road I thought it was just loads of shit on the road. Luckily the park is only at the top of the road so I should have walked anyway so I hadn't driven it far at all. So rang dh, he got someone to come fix it, took ages cos we couldn't find the locking nut etc etc. Finally got the spare on so I have to take the other to get repaired tomorrow.

Tomorrow is another day and all that...

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/11/2011 17:17

Lol'd at 'were the ducks nice?' too!

He fell asleep in the car at half 4 for about 15 mins, felt horrible waking him up but he seems really happy atm just hoping it doesn't affect his bedtime too much.

I've got dh's aunts funeral next wed and had nothing to wear, finally found a dress in river island but it cost £45 eek! Hopefully I can wear it again.

vik D doesn't last til after lunch for his nap, he usually goes down somewhere around half 11 but varies greatly depending on the night before.
I hated people commenting on my bump and saying how things will never be the same again, gee thanks Hmm

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/11/2011 17:20

Sorry just read that back and sounded really flippant about the funeral, I've never met his aunt and he wasn't close to her and she was in her 70s

viksam · 15/11/2011 21:36

Yeah dh thats just really heartless! haha only joking! How did D go down? Really hope u have a better night tonight.
mylife Thats shit about the car, if its not one thing its another! How u feeling now?
stac hows the placement going, what do u have to do?
cake hows A sleeping atm?
trudy how are u? Hows baby and M?
Right, im off to bed................have a good night everyone!

Chulita · 15/11/2011 22:01

Off to bed too, I've read but will hopefully post properly tomorrow.

viks I hate/d people commenting on my bump, I'm at the "wow! you've really popped" stage Hmm thanks...

dh glad you found something!

Sweet dreams to all and fingers crossed for a lovely day tomorrow, especially for mlisc!

chulita I'm really pleased your ms has passed it must feel like such a relief

dh and vik I hope your boys give you both a better night tonight.

mlisc What a day :( sending positive vibes your way for a better one tomorrow :)

It's my birthday on saturday so dh and me were discussing what we should do for it and he turns round and says how old are you going to be 28 or something Shock he wasn't far out but I kinda thought that after all the years we've been together he would bloody well know how old I am.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2011 07:38

Dylth- dh forgets his own age sometimes, they really can't hold alot of info at once!

D went down at 7:40ish with no crying and it only took about 15 mins so thought he'd be alright. Well no, he woke at 9ish then kept waking up after I thought he was settled. Then he woke at 10 something then again at 11ish so he came in our bed cos I'm fucked if in going to have another night like that.
Once in our bed he slept til 6, such a pickle!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2011 07:39

Oh he keeps coughing in his sleep and waking himself up so it's def that contributing. Although don't think he will be hugely better when it's gone.

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2011 08:01

Is everyone feeling a bit hacked off right now? I've noticed that lots of women I know are feeling fed up/dreading mondays/worn out/unappreciated at the moment. Maybe it's with xmas coming and we feel like we've already got so much to deal with without the work entailed with that too?

Really pleased your ms have finally gone chul - it looked like it had made itself at home for the duration! Hope the next bit of pg is more enjoyable.

What are you going to do for your birthday dylthan?

Bloody hell I'm tired. In answer to your question vik - sleep is shit here. A is a teething maniac again - I think 12 has broken thru but now has more coming. She did at least sleep most of the night but then woke at 5 wanting to bf and/or sleep on me. Wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't been doing a work presentation til midnight and then took half hour+ to get to sleep.

Finally, if anyone's wondering what to ask FC for for xmas then I'd really recommend vouchers for the colour and style days that I had. Can't believe how much better I feel about myself since.

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2011 08:08

Oh another random thing - does anyone else follow the bloodytype 'diet' (not a weightloss diet, just a way of eating)? I've been roughly following it for a couple of weeks and I really think I can notice a different in my tummy (which was already pretty flat) and my skin! I'm an A and my vegan diet is already pretty close to the one recommended so it hasn't been too hard to follow altho giving up potatoes and tomatoes (ie cooked in tomato sauces) is a challenge!

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2011 08:12

'Bloodytype' :o)
