Ffs just lost a huge post. Will pop back tomorrow when on the laptop and catch. Hope your all well :)

Chulita · 07/11/2011 07:09

Well, L up twice with eczema, both up at 5.40, S threw everything from last night up and I didn't notice til we were halfway down the stairs so got it all over my dressing gown. Stripped bed, scrubbed carpet, full-to-the-brim washing machine, new grobag/sheet, and we're ready to start the day. Not sure what to give him though because all he's been eating for the past fortnight is weetabix and I don't want to give him dairy for a bit...oatley methinks.
mlisc how crap about the discount! I'm forever doing that and it really pisses me off. Let me know if you find anything play-wise, I'm struggling a bit for L's birthday!
Town it is today then I reckon, I was looking forward to going to our Monday group cos haven't been for a while but I can't go after S's vom, esp as one friend is bringing her week old baby and S can't help but cuddle babies!

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/11/2011 07:37

Crap night here too, D woke twice more before half 10 so he came in with us because I just knew he was going to be crap. He had a feed when he came in with us, he then woke at 5ish expecting another feed but I just cuddled him and he settled down til 7ish.

Does anyone else's dc wake crying in the morning? D does it every single time and sometimes when he wakes from naps. Apart from yesterday when he woke up and just strolled into the front room, was so funny and cute!
Every morning he cries though like he's still tired but I get him up and he's fine Confused

viksam · 07/11/2011 07:55

Morning all,
Oh chu thats all you need, i HATE clearing up sick, i really hope he stays vom free now, hows dh, is he better? Do you know why S was sick?
DH funny you should say that about waking up crying as D did just that this morning, He was soaking wet right through to his sleeping bag, the worst yet, BUT it didnt bother him in the night as only one dummy run at 1.45 and that was it, from 7pm, so an ace night here!
Off to see a friend this morning and need to do a big shop this afternoon so a busy day for us. Got Mom and Dad coming on friday so do need to clean and make the spare beds up, all without dh noticing as he tells me off for over doing it when we have visitors!

Chulita · 07/11/2011 08:13

dh yep, S almost always wakes up crying, it's lovely when he doesn't though!

viks I don't think he will be vom free tbh, I've just given him dry toast and water (lucky boy) and he's burping watery-smelling wind so I think it'll come up again. I have a sneaking suspicion it might be what DH had/has, S has been bringing bits of food up for about 6 days, just not big voms. I was a bit Hmm last night when DH was feeding S off his fork, yea cos when you spend the night throwing up, sharing eating implements with your toddler is the best thing right?

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/11/2011 09:36

Uh oh chulita :( Sorry he's poorly and that your dh probably caused it

Babyboy doesn't always, but does sometimes wake crying. More often from naps that on a morning now, but it used to be both.

viksam · 07/11/2011 13:30

chu why are they so stupid, i told dh to stay away from D and he did what he was told on pain of death, i couldnt have faced D being poorly again and i couldnt really have any time off work either.
Managed to clean the conservatory from top to bottom this morning, D was as good as gold while i was on my hands and knees cleaning the floor and the skirting, how the hell does it get so dirty? The cat doesnt help i suppose, still looking for a home for her but having no luck at all.
Its horrid weather today, glad i only have a big shop to do ths afternoon, its amazing how much energy you have when you get a decent sleep!

Sounds disgusting to me tsc as I hate beef, but the recipe in principle should work fine I reckon

I know what you mean vik - even though we take our shoes off in the hall and dh cleans the carpets periodically, my friend's dd's knees were dirty today as she was crawling in the hall :( It's because of the dogs - it's all fine and well we take our shoes off out there but the dogs don't wipe their feet/take their shoes of so it always feels dirty. I'll never get a dog again when mine are no longer here, too dirty/too tying. We haven't got a dog-sitter for CP yet I don't think. Well I vertainly haven't, don't know if dh has

Chulita · 07/11/2011 14:26

tsc sounds good to me, I love beef casserole and that's pretty much what I stick in them.

I too hate vomit, I can't help but retch over and over. DH got proper angry at me the other day for retching while cleaning up another of S's mini-voms - as if I can help it/enjoy it ...double Hmm DH isn't normally an ass but he is every now and then.

mlisc I'd love a dog but the thing that stops me is the mess, both inside and out. We had outdoor dogs growing up and the only way I'd have a dog in this country is if we had a farm and it lived outside. I really like them but just can't face the hassle!

viks sit down and put your feet up girl - you'll wear yourself out!

trudy I hope that poke did something [prepared to take the credit emoticon]

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/11/2011 16:35

Tsc- sounds good to me as that's what I'm doing for tonight, I just chucked in some beef and veg with a bit of stock and I also use some gravy granules to give it a bit more flavour, going to do some broccoli on the side too.

Love winter slow cooker meals.

D had a nap that was nearly an hour and a half! He's still got a cold, sneezing, runny nose, coughing. Keep giving him calpol I just hope it doesnt last too long, his sleep was actually improving as well :(

Gracie123 · 07/11/2011 17:37

Hooray hooray!! I've found you all again!!

I'm so excited I might pee my pants a little (and I'm not even pg!!)

Gracie123 · 07/11/2011 17:47

Btw we had risotto for tea or 'scraps' as my family call it. It's a Monday night special after Sunday's roast Grin

viksam · 07/11/2011 19:21

HiHi Gracie Nice to see u again, Hows E, and how have things been going?
I did my big shop and by gum it was huge!! It came just under £100!!!! But its because i feel the need to get loads in and be really stocked up for when the baby comes so theres stuff that i know we dont need yet but will in a few weeks. I think im nesting..........i think this boba is going to be early!
I know i have asked this before about lo's not going to DH's but D was so bad earlier i had to take over the bath and carry on and he wouldnt even sit on his knee whilst i did his bottle. I felt so bad cos i could see that it upset dh but short of letting D cry through his bath etc what can I do. If i wasnt there he wouldnt cry for me and loads of times we have done the distraction thing and i have done one and hes been fine but not tonight. Poor DH, it must be horrible.
chu I love my dog but sometimes he drives me mental and mylife ur right re the mess, so many times i have took him around the side and quarantined him in the kitchen so i can clean his feet before letting him in!
tsc, dh and anyone else who slow cooks, do u cook ur veg before u put it in? If you were using frozen veg would u cook that? tscDo u feed what u did today to F? I havent put onion in anything for D yet, maybe i should.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/11/2011 20:10

Grin welcome back Gracie.

We had quorn bhuna & rice with onion bhajis and naans

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't vik. It's supposed to improve the flavour. I put loads of veg in the boys meals - ie in a casserole I'll put onion, sweet potato, swede, carrots, leeks, anything that's in the fridge. In a spag bol/mince I'll put carrots, courgette, onion, mushrooms, yellow/red pepper, aubergine, again, whatever's in the fridge really. Never used frozen veg in it so wouldn't know. I guess I would cook it first otherwise it will make the slow cooker take longer to heat up iyswim?

Hope D is ok overnight dh

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/11/2011 20:12

I don't cook anything before putting it in, I think it defeats the object of using a slow cooker! My beef casserole came out fine tonight, a little watery so will use more stock/ bisto next time.

D didn't go down without a fight tonight, another rubbish night I'm predicting. I hate illnesses!

CakeandRoses · 07/11/2011 20:21

hey gracie this might be the first time we've been on the same thread. maybe it means i have to exit as you enter.

chul your dh could do with getting a bit of perspective about how tough things are for you at the mo. why wasn't he cleaning up the mini-vom anyway, rather than let the pg and ms-suffering person do it Confused. didn't you also say he had the hump about taking them out for a while the other day too? Hmm

really hope S gets over the bug v v quickly

vik i think we moved F into his room around the same time as you have and he was cool with it.

mine aren't like that with dh so no advice from me i'm afraid. when F was younger he went thru mummy-phases and we just rode them out - i'd only take over if he went really beserk. these days they both think the sun shines out of dh's arse Hmm

tsc how did it turn out? the recipe sounded fine to me, beef-aside Grin

mlic just thought, F's got a letter fishing game from ELC too which he loves - he flies thru it now as he enjoys it so much.

also, www.sparklebox.com is great for learning resources. I just pinned up a printout of two of the 2-letter jolly phonic sounds/actions (ch and sh) from there and he loves them as they have actions (a train one for ch and shhing a baby for sh) so they're quite fun to do and easy to memorise.

i ought to say tho - don't feel pressurised to do any of this with ds1 if he's not yet that interested. only one of my friends is doing it with her DS, the others are waiting for them to learn it at pre-school or school as their DCs haven't shown a maffis interest yet.

i'm doing very little wrt numbers - just the bog-standard counting (he can only count to 20) and simple addition when i give him dates etc.

hope all is cool there trudy

quiet day meeting a friend and taking DCs to park and library today [yawn] then another friend of his round to dinner (tis the dd of the friends of ours who have now split up - it's very tricky as the dh is in a shared house so not ideal to take his dd back to so i've been having them back here to help out)

veggie sausage casserole for dinner (got inspiration from the list i gave mlic)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/11/2011 20:41

I wish you'd stop saying 'he can barely count to 20' and 'he can only count to 20' cake, he's only just bloody turned three! Grin Thanks for the phonics info, I will look into it. I don't want to actively teach him atm, just for it to be around iyswim, like in the background, as something that will just be picked up (hopefully) rather than 'sit down and we will learn' sort of stuff. He quite likes the 'alphablocks' phonetics stuff on the cbeebies website atm. Although it's fair to say he's more interested in Mr Tumble's star maze Hmm

My friend came round with her two today and her just turned 3yo had to go in 'time out' twice! The first time I was a bit Hmm but it's up to her how she parents, but the second time I physically gasped as he threw a toy across the room Shock Then my friend I'm meeting tomorrow text me to say her 2yo had been a nightmare today...so this totally means it's my turn tomorrow Wink

And cake, what's the craic with 'maybe it means i have to exit as you enter'? Ddon't talk daft woman Grin

Chulita · 07/11/2011 20:57

Yea cake, he offered to take them to the park so I could have a nap and then when I dared say I was tired later on that day he snapped at me. And good question re vom too, it doesn't bother him - obviously no one likes cleaning it up but it doesn't make him react in the same way. Hey ho, he's always been moodier than me!

S has had about 12 Shreddies to eat all day so we're going to be up at the arse-crack of whatever tomorrow, L's got another flare-up so she'll be awake off and on. I'm going to get to bed now and try and get a headstart on the mayhem that will be tonight.

Boo for rubbish sleep that seems to be happening Sad
I barely feel recovered from hideous vomiting my two did (obviously alternating to ensure that I got no sleep) whilst DH was in Iceland (school bloody trip) and that was over two weeks ago!!

cakes I don't think we ever have been on the same thread, but we've done it now do no sense in leaving (although if you hadn't posted and just left quietly... Wink)

Wrt to learning phonics, hooked on phonics have loads of free videos on YouTube you can watch. Lots of catchy songs. Both mine loves them and I even caught E singing them on her own with the baby monitor!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 07/11/2011 22:00

Thanks Gracie - will look at all this stuff tomorrow. DS1 has a new-found interest in my laptop so I will make sure we look at all these sugestions and see what appeals to him :)

CakeandRoses · 07/11/2011 22:31

crap crappity - ds has just been sick everywhere after pooing 3 times in about an hour Sad dd was also up for ages upset about something - which also turned out to be a maffis poo.

i'm so cross as i'm sure they caught it from sil's ds at the weekend. they merrily brought him over and then announced he'd been sick Hmm. fine for them as they have mil to look after their ill ds whilst they go to work as usual whereas my career is going swiftly down the drain with each day i have to take off oh and i'm also convinced their ds had untreated conjunctivitis. all in all i felt very sorry for the little boy but also annoyed at their lack of thought.

i know they all get ill at this age but i try to have concern for other's DCs and let their parents know if i think mine have something contagious so i kinda expect the same courtesy. sorry, i'm prolly just whingeing (there's a back story here i won;t bore you with)

oh sorry mlic if it sounded crap re F counting to 20, i didn't mean it the way it must have sounded. i was just trying to say i'm not madly hothousing him or anything. he's super interested in letters but very average about numbers so i haven't pushed them at all.

MalibuStac · 07/11/2011 23:22

Right on to try again :D

Thanks for doing my questionnaire wss and mlisc its great to have other perspectives.

Sorry for the vom fest with all the little ones. I can't do vomit either and I'm worse when pg, dp always does it unless he's out. Hope their all better soon.

Rs doing much better since she was given the preventer inhaler and J was given another inhaler because his asthma had flared up again.

trudy on the edge of my seat waiting to hear about baby boy, hope your ok.

tsc who was the celeb guest this year at the fireworks do?

viks sounds like your nesting is kicking in.

kk good luck with the grand opening tomorrow, look forward to hearning about it.

Off to bed folks back tomorrow.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 08/11/2011 06:03
Angry

I'm in wss and chulita's club this morning - ds2 up at 4.42am :( Only 7 minutes and then I can put lovely, inoffensive cbeebies on instead of bloody awful it's-Christmas-so-even-more-adverts-than-normal-trying-to-flog-plastic-shit Nick Jnr

It's the big day kk! Massive congratulations and sending lots of good luck vibes! Let us know how it goes - you've done so well you should be very proud.

Trudy I do so hope you're off having/have had your little boy. I hope you're not just avoiding logging on so you don't have to see all the 'have you had him yet' comments!

Sorry about your evening cake. Even more sorry to hear about your poor sil's ds :( How sad that they don't seem to have much regard for his health. I had Bilbo up at 12.40 so I ibuprofened him up and had to give him some milk and he went back off, but has been up since 4.42am - he seems happy as larry now but both times he woke he was completely sobbing. The I-can't-catch-my-breath type crying :( Tis very unlike him, and he has been a bit 'windy' so I'm wondering if his tummy was hurting him lying down?

Oh and cake, E does his level best to have a poo every single time he goes to the toilet Hmm so 3 poos in an hour didn't/wouldn't faze me, lol. Not trying to be flippant, just trying to lighten the mood :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/11/2011 07:38

D woke at 9 and 1 then walked into our room at about 4:45 and slept til 7:11 (it's always 7:11!) so not great.

Not really sure what I'm doing today, was meant to be seeing a friend but neither of us were at the group yesterday and she doesn't have a phone (mobile or landline) to get hold of her.
