Hi all,

still here, still no baby. Same old same old.

Too tired to post more.

Have a lovely bonfire night all. It's not celebrated here, obviously. Shame though, wish I could have toffee apples.

viksam · 05/11/2011 19:28

Well D's gone down in his new room, can u tell im stressing about this loads, i really dont know why cos we have moved all his things over and it looks just like his old room really. I went on a thread on here about it and it scared the crap out of me so that didnt help at all!
trudy hope u have a good night!
Just gona sit down with dh and have home made pizza and watch a film and try and chill!!

Woodlands · 05/11/2011 19:38

Great news about the good night viksam, fingers crossed for another one!

Come on baby Trudy! You must be so fed up. WHen was your actual due date?

Went to Westfield today. DH insisted on getting the personal shopper to help us in Monsoon (I would have been too embarrassed). It was great because there was a fantastic huge changing room just for us with loads of room for J to crawl round. DH bought me a beautiful dress - will post pics tomorrow. Then we tried to get J off to sleep to no avail. Gave up and had some lunch. DH then took J home and I did some more shopping - bought myself a load of new makeup in Boots. Then I got my hair cut in Toni & Guy - went for a fairly drastic change and now have a bob, longer at the front than the back. I can feel air on the back of my neck for the first time in about 10 years! So I will look good at the christening tomorrow. Hooray!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/11/2011 20:16

D is finally asleep, prob won't be a good night if these fireworks keep up, they're so loud near us.

CakeandRoses · 05/11/2011 20:28

That sounds lovely woodlands. Bravo to your wonderful dh! Would love to see the pics of you tomo.

Thank you chul that's exactly it re the hyperness - I don't want people thinking he's naughty. L sounds great fun :)

What thread are you talking about? I tend to stick to this one (obv), style and beauty and occassionally food so don't see the highs and lows on here that you do!

kk wow sounds like you've been busy!! Hope it all goes well for opening.

Nice one vik!! Hope you get another one tonight. Why are you stressing about his room?

I think james corden is a bit of a knobber actually tsc so I'm a bit disappointed in this year's entertainment ;) can we place an order in advance next year?

Hope you're making sure you stock up on sleep trudy ;) (I used to want to kill people who said that to me!)

Just back from a maffis bonfire and fireworks. F and A loved it. Just putting A down then going to chill with some vino. SIL and her chap are coming over once they've closed the deli. Feeling a bit braindead for conversation tho.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/11/2011 20:46

Wow vik that's fab! Fingers crossed for another good night. Mine have gone to bed a bit late tonight (a) because I knew they'd struggle to get to sleep over the noise and (b) it might mean a lie in tomorrow.

Memph glad the move went well!

Well my dogs are almost 5 and have never been bothered by fireworks. The bitch is completely bad-ass-hard-as-nails about it all as usual but the dog seems mildly on edge tonight for some strange reason Confused

Hope the decorating went well kk! I didn't realise you were opening a salon I thought you were just going mobile! Wow, go you! A friend of ours has just opened a salon this year and the relief of it all being on her terms is great for her. Good luck for Tuesday if I forget to say before then!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/11/2011 20:48

Cake I know you don't really watch tv but if you'd seen Piers Morgan interview James Corden last weekend I'm fairly convinced you wouldn't still think he's 'a knobber'

Chulita · 05/11/2011 21:03

cake this one

tsc you're getting a royal pasting on that cc thread, don't know if you care though Grin

Can't post more, DH is feeling rough so I've been asked to send up hot water bottles. Going to turn in anyway after late night nookie last night, did get enough sleep. Happy fireworks spotting!

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/11/2011 21:37

To be fair they've realised they made a mistake because took your comment about ebf and co-sleeping seriously. I read it and knew it was sarcastic, but then I 'know' you and so realised it was - they have taken it at face value. But they've eaten their words now.

WhatSheSaid · 05/11/2011 22:35

I meant to say to chul you said further up the thread you were needing to take serious action to stop S's early wake ups - any ideas? When G woke at 4.30 the other day I thought "Right, I'm just going to leave you, you need to go back to sleep", anyway 10 minutes later she's still going so I went to her room and found A had been woken up by it and was standing in the hallway saying "Mummy, G is awake!". Luckily A went straight back to bed and sleep but clearly I can't leave G just to cry...I then sat with G for 10 mins to try to get her back to sleep but it was no good so I just got her up.

Have tried giving her milk then putting her back to bed, worked once but never has since.

The last 2 nights I have put her to bed 30 mins later - 7.30 not 7 - has helped, she woke up at 5.45 both mornings after that (much better than 4.45 or 5) so maybe that's the way to go...

Chulita · 06/11/2011 07:34

wss we get the same when we leave S to cry, L comes in and tells us about it but because she doesn't go to school and can still have a nap if she needs it, we still let him cry. Tbh she sleeps through it most of the time, I've started giving S weetabix every night on top of whatever meal he refuses to eat and it seems to help a bit. DH has been up all hours with work recently so I can't tell what's S waking up and him being woken up. We've also put his Winnie the Pooh light show back in his room so when he wakes up I go in and turn that on and it buys us a bit more time. If he wakes at 4.30, he cries til 6 cos he never resettles and I refuse to get up.

Last night DH was reacting to something he'd eaten that his body didn't like, so up all night in the bathroom, then the poor soul had to be at work at 5.45 so he was up for the day at 5. He's got nothing in him, he hasn't had breakfast and he's going to be an absolute wreck.

Got nothing planned for today, got no car so might take a wander to the park if I can be bothered.

OP posts:
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/11/2011 08:07

Your poor dh chul. I don't know what to do today either - I have a car but have no fuel in it as usual. Even just going to my mam's is a 20 min drive so I'd have to get fuel on the way home :( Oh well, I suppose I'd better put some in at some point so it had may as well be today.

Glad you've got a little longer in bed wss, and glad the weetabix/supper seems to help a bit chul. Hopefully when your dh's hours settle down a bit he'll sleep better then.

WSS have you tried giving her milk in bed. Once they're up, they're up imo I'm not surprise she's reluctant to go back to sleep. I used to sometimes do baby a bottle if he woke too early and go in his room, leaving the lights off, hand him the bottle and leave. I'm sure Gina Ford/JoFrost would have a fit, but it often soothed him back to sleep, as he wasn't woken right up iyswim.

viksam · 06/11/2011 09:13

Morning all,
Not a bad night here at all really. The fireworks didnt bother him at all and the new room didnt it seems either. He woke first at 4.45 which was a quick dummy run, then he woke on and off but mostly he slept till 7.50 cake i think im stressing because i have read so much about toddlers really being put out by a new room and not wanting to be in there etc etc and i really didnt want any hassle after the last three weeks of us all being poorly and so so tired i just dont think i could have faced it but its all done now and gone ok so im relieved.
I now want some mirror stick on stars and a little blue bookcase both from wilkos, i also want a road mat and a height chart but not sure where i can get those from locally.
chu what time did S wake this morning? Hope DH is ok, what it defo something he ate or could it be this virus thats going round?
mylife what was ur night like?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/11/2011 09:31

Well I wasn't going to say, but since you asked...DS1's gro clock was changed to 7:30am so he got up then, DS2 got up at 8:15am!

Trudyla · 06/11/2011 11:50

No baby, 41 weeks today.

Have a nice Sunday all.

Chulita · 06/11/2011 16:18

Grin trudy you know we're all logging on just to see if you've not posted so we can get excited! On the bright side, the longer he stays in, the bigger the age gap Wink

OP posts:
viksam · 06/11/2011 17:19

good going mylife what a result!!
chu how u feeling?
Whats everyone else done today?
Well D has been a delight all morning and went down for his nap like a dream, this new schedule seems to be working well atm.
Got the stars and the book case and a rocket and stars lightshade, so im happy.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/11/2011 17:36

Hi all

trudy keeping my fingers crossed for u.

D had an hours nap today bit he's moaning on and off I think he wants to go to bed already.

He woke up 3 times last night too.

Chulita · 06/11/2011 19:06

Tired, unsurprisingly, tried to have a nap while L watched Winnie the Pooh at lunch but while she'll sit and watch the whole thing, she can't help but give a running commentary. S woke up crying twice, then DH phoned so it wasn't a great success. Going to try and finish watching Thor, then design a Brio track that we can glue together for the play table, S just can't help but destroy any track we have and then cry cos he can't use it Hmm

Good luck for tonight dh!

Your dress and hair looks lovely on your photos woodlands

Glad your new routine is going well vik, and glad he adjusted to his new room straight away. I understand your concerns about moving him but seems like he'll be happy in there.

Hope you get/got an early night chulita. Fingers crossed he sleeps well tonight for you

Trudy :( Hope you're ok

I went Christmas shopping today. Toys r us with a roaming toddler and another who insisted on being carried round the whole shop! I got a few birthday/Christmas presents but need loads more! I was quite disappointed in the 'letters' type stuff, it was all 'Aayy is for apple' 'Bee is for banana' instead of 'aaah' is for apple' 'buh is for banana' etc iyswim? I thought schools all taught phonetically these days?

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/11/2011 21:06

Thanks chul I think tonight is going to be rubbish though. He's got a cold :( he woke up half an hour after going down. Dh re-settled him so fingers crossed.

mlisc I never find anything in toys r us, they opened a temp one round here last Xmas but wasn't v impressed. I've really got to get more presents, so many children to buy for!

Woodlands · 06/11/2011 21:07

thanks mlisc! It was a really nice day, lovely service, good party. J showed off his walking nicely too!

Toys r us with two toddlers sounds like hard going!

Hope tonight is the night Trudy!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/11/2011 21:19

The worst thing about the whole bloody trip was that I had a 20% off everything card that I left at bloody home :( And it ended today - it's about an 18 minute drive away and my tank car only does about 24 miles per gallon, so to go back for it would have wiped out the savings on the presents Angry Ho hum. I also had £75 in cash from mil that I forgot to take, blooming typical.

They have opened a Smyths about 20 mins away so I might go there on Friday when I'm child free and get some more presents. Even if I get ds1's birthday sorted I'll feel a bit more organised!

Hope he sleeps well dh

Glad you've had a lovely day woodlands

CakeandRoses · 06/11/2011 22:16

justa quickie as back late from yorkshire (stopped for a curry en route) so am halfway thru unpacking etc.

mlic what type of letter things are you looking for? the jolly phonic books are really good (and way cheap) - you can get them in ELC. the videos on youtube like are fab too.

F's only just starting to learn the blended sounds (like ai and oo) now as i didn't follow the stages of jolly phonics initially as he'd just picked up the normal letters without any real planning so it's only now that i'm trying to figure out what to show him next.

F got a buzz lightyear letter handheld thingy for his birthday which is quite good altho the keyboard is stupidly in caps so is only helpful once they're ready to learn those.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/11/2011 22:36

Thanks cake, am on my phone now so will look at that link tomorrow. I just wanted to get him some stuff that is 'play' to complement me trying to teaching him about letter sounds. I think the jolly phonics books are a great idea, thanks. Hope you had a better night last night. I've had babyboy up tonight unsettled. Sorry if TMI but I could smell something sweet, reminded me of the strawberry yoghurt he had at lunchtime, but there was no sick/wet on his pillow. Don't know if something's acidy in his stomach and it's repeated or something? Anyhow water wasn't enough for him so I've given him milk, hopefully he'll settle now

Didn't help that dh put the bloody heating on an hour ago, it's boiling in here Angry
